"Dine at Jaan Bai Enjoy world-class cuisine for a good cause at the delicious, inviting Jaan Bai.This popular outpost, aBattambang lure for food-minded travelers, raisesfunds to support the Cambodian Children’s Trust and the kitchen anddining provide hands-on vocational training for local youth. The restaurant's name translates to "rice bowl" in Khmer, but the menu venturesfar beyond rice, showcasingauthentic Thai, Cambodian, and Vietnamese staples, in small, shareable servings. The venture isthe brainchild of several chefs and restaurateurs, including David Thompson of Bangkok 's famous Ngam."

Excellent meal! A “nice” but still very reasonably priced meal for when you’re getting a bit tired of street food. The food was delicious, some local dishes and other Asian variants, all very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was quick. And still affordable - we paid $31 for three small plates, 1 large plate, and 2 drinks (for two people). Definitely recommend!

Jaan Bai Restaurant, Battambang - A Meaningful Meal with Incredible Flavour We had a truly memorable dinner at Jaan Bai Restaurant in Battambang last night as a visiting family of five. From the moment we arrived, we felt not just welcomed, but connected to something bigger than a typical dining experience. What makes Jaan Bai unique is its purpose, 51% of profits go to an organisation supporting the transition of children out of orphanages and into better, more fulfilling lives here in Cambodia. It’s more than just a meal, it’s a movement. The food itself was exceptional. We sampled a variety of local dishes, with standouts including the Curry Chicken and Butterfly Flower Steamed Chicken, both bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. For dessert, we shared three incredible sweet dishes: a rich flower chocolate cake, a light and fluffy coconut cake, and a refreshing coconut sorbet. All were fantastic (see photos below!). The service was friendly and warm, and the vibe relaxed yet thoughtful. The final bill was $50 for the five of us, more than fair for the quality of food, service, and the cause behind it all. If you’re in Battambang and want to enjoy delicious food while supporting a good cause, Jaan Bai is a must-visit.

Probably the best restaurant in Battambang, real cambodian food, superb quality and a very cozy atmosphere. We ate here twice. In one occasion we had the full set menu for 2 people recommended if you want to try a bit of everything. The second time we ordered a la carte. I particularly liked the dumplings and the lime cheesecake. Restaurant seems also a bit fancy but prices are not. We have been recommended this place by our hotel and it'seriously a must try. Again Reasonable prices for the quality you get.

I went to this place because it came up on Google as ‘best restaurant in Battambang’ 😭. Menu is fusion, flavors beyond bland. Western prices of course, but I don’t care and am happy to have a decent glass of wine. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure I bit into a torn off fingernail in my jackfruit taco. Picture included for you to judge- I only regret it’s not better due to the ‘mood lighting’ and my 5 yo phone, but yes it had the smoothed out ridges, thickness, hardness, and total lack of flavor of a fingernail. We’ve all bitten our nails before, we know what it is. I bit into this and immediately knew and spit it out. I complained to staff and they asked to see MY nails, for real. Then they picked it up, examined it carefully, went to the kitchen, and at some length came back with a piece of cooked garlic about the same size and color, and told me I was crazy, it was just garlic. Can you even imagine, they tried to gaslight a 40yo woman like I’ve never cooked or eaten garlic before, as if garlic isn’t an extremely easily identified taste and texture? I pretended to believe them, had the rest of my meal packed, finished my wine, paid, and tossed it as soon as I got home. Absurd, gross experience. Wear gloves in the kitchen.

What a fabulous meal! We were lucky that there was one unreserved table when we turned up at 6:45 as we saw lots of people turned away after we sat down. The meal was gorgeous - and the young staff really did their best to offer a friendly and welcoming service. All the dishes were delightful - we started with the chicken satay with peanut sauce and the cucumber salad with pork belly. And followed it up with the traditional prawn and tofu pad Thai, and the fish amok. Both were very tasty! I could have eaten all the desserts as they all sounded fabulous but in the end I asked the waiter what he recommended and we went for the coconut cake with passion fruit sorbet, and the magi and sticky rice. We also enjoyed two delicious cocktails (negroni with green orange), a large beer and a white wine. Our bill came to $46 - amazing value for such a meal! This restaurant gives back to a local children’s charity so you’re doing good whilst enjoyed good food! It’s a win-win situation.! Book - you won’t be disappointed!

I loved the food! I tried Thai green curry and coconut cake for dessert. Together with water I paid $11.75. I was attended by a group of young waiters who were very polite and friendly. I will recommend this place to my friends

Stumbled across this and so glad we did!! Our first meal in Cambodia and wow did it impress us. Really tasty good quality food, we can see why it is rated so highly! Loved the chicken satay and the Pork Belly Bao. I didn’t take a picture of the Banana Flower Chicken, but would highly recommend, the chicken was so tender and amazing!
