"Dine at Jaan Bai Enjoy world-class cuisine for a good cause at the delicious, inviting Jaan Bai.This popular outpost, aBattambang lure for food-minded travelers, raisesfunds to support the Cambodian Children’s Trust and the kitchen anddining provide hands-on vocational training for local youth. The restaurant's name translates to "rice bowl" in Khmer, but the menu venturesfar beyond rice, showcasingauthentic Thai, Cambodian, and Vietnamese staples, in small, shareable servings. The venture isthe brainchild of several chefs and restaurateurs, including David Thompson of Bangkok 's famous Ngam."

Must try if you’re in Battambang. Such a good range of options, lots of vegetarian options too. Service was excellent, food was delicious and drinks good too. Would definitely recommend the veggie bao buns, dumplings, fish amok curry and the kampot pepper tofu. Some music would be nice ❤️

Exceptional food. They offer good selection of Khmer dishes that would delight most palates. They offer a Set Menu for those who look to try several of their speciality dishes.

Absolutely incredible food with lovely and warm staff. Easily one of the highlights of my entire Cambodia trip so far. Highly recommend the fish amok and chicken satay!

Turned up one evening to see if they had availability and were turned away not even suggesting we came back later - not all the staff have great English so perhaps we’re confused and the kitchen closes at 9pm. We did however as to book for the following evening and am so glad we did, the food was delicious. More expensive than most places, however in my opinion worth it. I tried a few small plates and the jackfruit bao and chicken satay really were incredibly tasty. Mango daiquiri also delicious. Atmosphere fine, I was surprised by the fact no water was brought to the table. Quite a few tables were empty by 8pm though and we had seen people turned away which was unfortunate. The restaurant also supports a charity to prevent an orphanage vicious cycle.

Not a Five Star because of their depressing ‘banh mi’. For one, it’s definitely NOT worth a $5.25. Both my kids ordered it, 1 pork, 1 chicken. As far as I can see (opening the sandwich) there’s barely meat, it’s just bread filled with pickled veggies. My older child didn’t even taste any pate in it!! What the heck was I charged $5.25ea for? The chicken banana flower dish comes with 1 braised chicken thigh and braised banana flowers. Taste good. Hubby got Tom Kha Gai & 1 other Khmer soup dish. They both were good. Portions aren’t big. Lots of tour guides bring tourists here to eat. Price might be in single digits but portion is also half of US portions.

Amazing restaurant, would highly recommend. I think it’s hands down the best food we’ve had in Battambang. The staff are really lovely, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere inside. We ordered five small plates to share and two soft drinks and the bill came to $20. The portions of the small plates are huge and we had leftover food.
