I recently grabbed dinner at Jack the Ripperl by the Taubenmarkt in Linz. The name hints at ribs—and wow, do they deliver. The moment I opened the menu, I realized this place is serious about ribs (they’ve been honing their craft since '74 in Upper Austria). I dove into their BBQ ribs—tender, smoky, and nicely caramelized. Then I tried the Pulled Rip Burger, stacked with juicy rib meat, coleslaw, and melted cheddar—everything felt rich yet balanced. A side of crispy onion rings rounded it out perfectly. Service was laid-back and friendly. They helped me choose size options and sauces without any fuss, and the pace was chill enough to relax. This is comfort food done right—big flavors in a cozy, casual spot with heart. Jack the Ripperl is a must-visit in Linz for anyone who loves ribs done well. I can’t wait to go back for their monthly specials—those look fantastic.

Amazing all, amazing food, tasty, well presented and fresh. Seriously the quesadilla was all a experience. The waitress supper attentive and kind, in 2 minutes our dog have water. The best place of you lake ribs.

This place gets a big yes from me. I didn't expect it to be as good when I decided to make a reservation, especially since I'm not at all passionate about eating this type of food. But how can you not like it? Especially the dips are amazing. A medium portion was almost too big for us. The service was very attentive. Our waiter really attended to us and double asked at the end if everyone was happy. Also, big like for the boutique.

Eating here is one of the great experiences when visiting Linz. The ribs are carefully cooked and very juicy. The BBQ sauce tastes good and the onion rings are delicious and crispy. I had apple crumble cheesecake with ice cream which harmoniously mixed as a dessert. The panacotta was great as well. Come and try it yourself.

It feels like an insider tip because its pretty hidden and the waiters are bery friendly and up for a joke. The food is very nice. It is in the middle of Linz but theyr outside seating area is calm. They mainly have meals surrounded by meat but as far as i remember they also have vegetarian options.

I'm writing this review with the bias of being an American. I'm not from the Deep South but I can appreciate some good BBQ. The Outdoor seating is cozy and pleasant. The menus are on a cold wooden board and easy to read. The pricing is reasonable and the service is excellent. You even get a huge cleaver when you order ribs. What a way to make a guy happy! Give him a big knife! But a knife is everything at a restaurant, the food is. The Rib are good. Like 7/10 good. Don't come here expecting your Gran Pappy from the Bayou Level ribs. Expect a good jump better than some California tryhard ribs. They don't put sauce on them until after they are done but they do put spices. You can taste it but the spices make up for it. So in your in Linz and you want a 1/2 Kilo of GOOD ribs for €14 in a cool spot, there isn't a better place.

The service was very excellent here which is why I gave a 3 instead of a 2. The food is a solid 2. The ribs weren't bad but they weren't good either. It's a fast food place so my expectations weren't high. The ribs came out in minutes after ordering and tasted like it. I won't say not to come but don't have high expectations for the ribs.
