Jackie and Sons

Loved the meat in my dish, loved it, but the rice was cold and hard; the Tzatziki sauce was so watery and disappointing; the cabbage didn’t taste fresh; and the pita bread was stale. My husband had a breakfast burrito that was very plain, like no flavor, outside of the potatoes. I will add photos, and everything looks pretty, but it was pretty bad, outside of the meat (meat was amazing) no pun intended. I will go back one day, if only for the meat.

I visited Jackie and Sons twice in one week, and each visit was a treat! For breakfast, I tried the beef scramble—the pine nuts added such a fantastic flavor twist. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I also couldn't resist their pastries; the lemon blueberry and carrot cake were absolutely divine. A few days later, I returned for lunch and had the kebab combo. Another winner! The flavors were robust, and the portion was just right. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a smooth cortado and a cappuccino that truly hit the spot. The atmosphere feels modern and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax. The staff is so friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Parking was easy to find—there's paid street parking, or you can park in the area right behind the store off Route 510. Jackie and Sons is a gem in South Orange, NJ. Highly recommend for anyone seeking delicious food, great service, and a cozy yet modern vibe!

We had the best brunch at Jackie and Sons! We went on a weekday and the place was packed but the service was top notch. Special mention to our server Moses, who made sure that we were well taken care of!! The french toast with pistachio cream was out of this world! We also loved the veggie sandwich, matcha and omelette.

I knew of this place from the owner's brothers. They are located in Montclair, NJ. I started coming to this fantastic cafe when it first opened. The young lady who is the owner was so kind and welcoming even during COVID. It is 6/22, and I am back! The food menu is fantastic, with so many options, and their coffee is so good!!! And I am incredibly picky with coffee!!!! I met a young lady who was so kind, MAYA. She is helpful and very engaging. Also, their PRICE IS PRETTY GOOD FOR THE FOOD THEY SERVE. Thank you so much for such an excellent place for lunch, breakfast, brunch, and early dinner. 😋

While exploring South Orange on a sunny weekday, we stumbled upon this great brunch spot, Jackie and Sons. Considering its popularity during off-peak hours, it's an obvious favorite among nearby residents, and the space exudes a relaxed vibe that's perfect for relaxing with friends and spending quality time with family. Staff cleared tables and carefully sanitized them, and they were friendly. Ordered the Shakshuka and it was delicious - quite balanced in flavour. The French toast was a highlight for me! The toast itself is crispy and soft and tender on the inside - the pistachio bits were definitely a nice touch. The syrup is made with a bit of a burnt flavor - giving it a more mature flavor than just pure sweetness. Last but not least, the cream smells really good (although to my wife it smells more artificial). It is recommended to mix in a little lemon or orange zest or even natural vanilla beans for a refreshing taste. It's easily the top dessert in the region.

I've been to Jackie and Son three times now, and I've been pleasantly surprised with each visit. Everything, whether it's their sandwiches, veggie bowls, or pastries, taste fresh and delicious. Today I had an avocado BLT with a side of fries and my partner had the falafel ball veggie bowl with a side of truffle fries. The bacon was crispy and the sandwich had a perfect ratio of avocado/tomato/mayo. The fries were also seasoned to perfection. Their servers are very attentive and one of the cashiers even remembered which coffee I ordered last time and made it perfectly. Every time I've been there it's been pretty crowded but I've always been able to find a seat. The prices are also higher than your average diner but pretty much everything here is tastier and made with an exceptional amount of care compared to your average diner, so it's warranted. Fantastic place!

Amazing food, amazing people. I have been so many times and always come away feeling so lucky we have this place in South Orange. HIGHLY recommend!!!

This place was absolutely delicious and fresh. I had the avocado toast with the two eggs. A brought home a scone which was the best I ever had. Omg coffee.. perfection!!. Everything was absolutely perfect. Loved it. Everyone was very friendly, professional, and very fast! My only thing was the music is very loud so I can’t really hear other people otherwise it’s wonderful.
