Family of 5 wanted a quick breakfast. Metered Street parking upon arrival. No wait time at the time. Seating for 5 was a bit tight but manageable. Self-order at the counter, server brought food instantly. Food was great! Especially, the Carrot/Apple juice my 2 year old loved it. A lot of options to pick from breakfast to lunch food. Would definitely come again.

Google
Love the food here! Everything tastes fresh and I always leave feeling like I had a healthy meal. It does get busy for weekend brunch and sometimes finding a seat is difficult, but that just speaks to how popular and good this place is!

Google
One of my favorite places to go for breakfast. I absolutely love their blueberry pancakes. Recently, I tried their veggie grain bowl to try something outside of my usual breakfast preferences. It was okay. I feel like it’s missing a flavor or a different sauce than the Tahini. The staff is super friendly and provides the best customer service. The food is great!

Google
I keep going back to Jackie & Sons for their breakfast burrito. I usually don’t love truffle anything, but the truffle home fries are amazing. The staff is so kind and the service is efficient. Prices and fair and the atmosphere is nice - especially during off-peak times. Love it here!

Google
Loved the meat in my dish, loved it, but the rice was cold and hard; the Tzatziki sauce was so watery and disappointing; the cabbage didn’t taste fresh; and the pita bread was stale. My husband had a breakfast burrito that was very plain, like no flavor, outside of the potatoes. I will add photos, and everything looks pretty, but it was pretty bad, outside of the meat (meat was amazing) no pun intended. I will go back one day, if only for the meat.

Google
I had a disappointing and scary experience with my first order from this restaurant. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled lemon chicken for delivery through UberEats. After finding a piece of METAL WIRE in my salad, mixed with the purple cabbage, I was alarmed. Thank goodness I noticed it before eating. While I understand mistakes can happen, this incident highlights the importance of thorough food inspection before serving or delivering. Additionally, the $7.50 upcharge for lemon chicken resulted in a small and insufficient portion. The salad was not worth the $25 total cost.

Google
We had the best brunch at Jackie and Sons! We went on a weekday and the place was packed but the service was top notch. Special mention to our server Moses, who made sure that we were well taken care of!! The french toast with pistachio cream was out of this world! We also loved the veggie sandwich, matcha and omelette.

Google
My sister and I came to have breakfast here on a Saturday morning. It was very busy. We had to ask for essentials - silverware, water and napkins. The food was good, but I felt the food could’ve been hotter and the water was room temperature not cold enough and without ice on a summer day. I recommend more hostesses to work on Saturdays since the restaurant was crowded both inside and outside. We loved the atmosphere too, just understaffed. My last recommendation, would be to return during the week instead of on the weekend. All the employees were very nice and accommodating when you did ask for assistance. It was pricey for breakfast.

Yelp
A very nice chic looking establishment and great customer service from their workers. I had the tuna platter salad and mint lemonade + rosewater. For the price this was a big portion, fresh ingredients, they didn't shy away from the tuna and it left me satisfied after eating it. As for the lemonade, it was very sour and I absolutely love me a sour lemonade so I highly recommend that drink if you love sourness like me. Will be coming back here for sure. 5 stars!

Yelp
I visited Jackie and Sons twice in one week, and each visit was a treat! For breakfast, I tried the beef scramble--the pine nuts added such a fantastic flavor twist. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I also couldn't resist their pastries; the lemon blueberry and carrot cake were absolutely divine. A few days later, I returned for lunch and had the kebab combo. Another winner! The flavors were robust, and the portion was just right. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a smooth cortado and a cappuccino that truly hit the spot. The atmosphere feels modern and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax. The staff is so friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Parking was easy to find--there's paid street parking, or you can park in the area right behind the store off Route 510. Jackie and Sons is a gem in South Orange, NJ. Highly recommend for anyone seeking delicious food, great service, and a cozy yet modern vibe!

Yelp
Visited this restaurant for lunch and I really enjoyed the homemade vegan lentil soup . I also ordered a veggie sandwich which was fresh but very bland .

Yelp
The cool spot is located within minutes of Seton Hall University (South Orange, New Jersey). The service is great. Everyone is very friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered French Toast, a side of bacon, two eggs, and a raspberry lemon scone. The portions are plentiful. I wasn't expecting a side of bacon to be a bowl full of bacon (yes!!!). And the amount of whipped cream, wow!!! Everything was delicious. We also ordered the Very Berry smoothie. It wasn't our favorite, but it did not ruin what was an excellent meal. I highly recommend this cozy spot for a awesome breakfast and/or an excellent treat.

Yelp
This spot is super cute ! Super busy for almost 10am! First come, first serve! Patricia and Jake were extremely friendly and welcoming ! I would definitely come here again. The latte is absolutely perfect The food is bomb!!
google avatar

Caroline L.

Yelp
Had DoorDash from here so can't comment on service or ambience but the food is amazing!! We ordered grilled cheese, chicken shawarma and french toast. They were all amazing and the French toast is to die for
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere and top quality foods including healthy oils. Unlike many restaurants in the area, they are conscientious about not using seed oils.

Minashia H.

Yelp
Chef's kiss on the food, service and ambiance. I didn't get a chance to take a picture. The food was amazing.

Yelp
Great food, service, and atmosphere! I ordered blueberry pancakes and enjoyed them. They were thick, light and fluffy with loads of blueberries. It came with a side of maple syrup. They must have added butter or something to the syrup because in the beginning the syrup tasted of nothing. So if you get the pancakes make sure to stir the syrup first. You order at the counter, pay and are given a number so they can deliver your food to the table. Everyone was welcoming, and the service was excellent. They had plenty of staff, which is a rarity these days. The food did not come out immediately, which is a good thing. It means it's made to order. All the salads and entrées coming out looked excellent and the baked goods were fabulous looking. I got an iced tea to go, and it was phenomenal! They had a sidebar with syrups and sugar. That was a nice touch. A metered municipal parking lot is next door. I'll be back.

Yelp
We've been here twice already. The food is great, no doubt about it. Service is excellent, the place is clean, and the ambience is just right. This is a restaurant done right. The process of paying first before eating is very clever. The food is well sautéed and carefully cooked to enhance awesome taste. Seem s this would be our new frequent spot. See you soon! We highly recommend!

Zohar H.

Yelp
Always the best food! This place is wonderful. Try their matcha latte or any of their pastries.

Yelp
These baked goods are the best I have ever had in my life, and that says a lot, as I am a sweets lover and enjoy sugary goods often. The halva brownie is exceptionally good; I'm surprised NJ hasn't tried to call it a drug and yet and make it illegal.

Yelp
We had a lovely, delightful brunch at Jackie's.I had Jackie's scramble, and every component was delicious, and even the toast was excellent. My wife had the Shawarma bowl, which was very tasty, and enough for 3 meals! Their coffee was Sooo good! The many staff were pleasant and industrious, taking great care of seated customers while attending to the many called-in and online orders diligently. The restaurant is very bright, surrounded on 2 side by large windows. The manager was very kind to us, and the waitstaff and bus-persons were very attentive. We really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, the bustle, and the kind staff! This was our second visit, and we will return whenever back in town.

Yelp
Is it me or has anyone else been on a cafe kick/run lately? I've been making my rounds around town and I found this spot. Super chic, pleasant with delicious coffee and food. I ordered the egg & cheddar sandwich which was really good. It was hot and super fresh. I also got the raspberry lemon scone since this is what they're known for. I'm not a scone girl and this confirmed it for me. However, for all my scone people you will love it!! I'll be back to dine in for the pancakes and much more!

Yelp
High quality foods in a casual setting is perfect for us. Service is always good. We always eat too much here since baked sweets are also good.

Hannah N.

Yelp
Definitely go and check out Jackie and Sons! The food here is incredible, the service is cafe style and quick, and the plates and decor are adorable! While it is a small cafe with limit spots for seating, it is well worth the fight to eat in house. It is also rather affordable coming from a local college student.

Yelp
Always a hit love there grilled cheese! Need to come back asap and try the smoothies or juices service is great and lovely seating area outside. Only main concern is there a young lady named Karen who interrupted my nice lunch with my family as she was trying to talk to us as we were sitting enjoying our meal.

Yelp
Lovely corner shop . Order the Taste of Home, excited to find out the Nana Tea came with the order. I'm not a tea person, but Nana Tea with Mint was great; Added a splash of their Earl gray house syrup and it was quite a soothing taste. The meal was delicious. The eggs were nicely cooked; not overdone or overcooked. Perfectly runny and flavorful (I didn't have to add salt or pepper). The star of the meal was really the za'atar labneh. That was exquisite, flavorful, fun. As for bakery items: ordered the lemon blueberry, raspberry lemon scone and a halva brownie to take home. They remained fresh after several hours. And they were still flavorful, moist, and delicious. The halva brownie complimented each other so well. My only gripe was the pita bread; they were a bit chewy and hard; unsure if they were a tad stale but adding the food items helped out.

Yelp
Loved everything about this little gem. Healthy, fresh options and delicious baked goods.

Yelp
A nice surprise. Had takeout but will def come back to sit down and eat. Had a scone and a breakfast wrap

Yelp
Stopped by for weekday brunch with a friend and the blueberry pancakes were steaming and fluffy, would definitely come back for those! We also shared one of the omelets (don't remember which) which was also very enjoyable, and I got a matcha latte. The latte reminded me that I'm not really a latte person but it was made very well! I got my boyfriend a breakfast sandwich to go which he said was good as well. Note--they do not sell bread here, the bread including the sourdough is just mainly for the sandwiches.

Yelp
Jackie and Son is one of my favorite brunch restaurants. They are located right up the street from Seton Hall University. They offer your classic brunch items, but with a unique twist. Their french toast is made with real french bread and is accompanied with homemade whipped cream topped with fresh berries and house made maple butter syrup. I drive 30 minutes to have their french toast. Yes they are that good! The jackie and son egg scramble is another one of my favorites. Eggs scrambled soft with truffle home fries. Fresh water infused with fruit is available for free and that is a plus. The do have a nice selection of bakery goods as well. Their tahini brownie is a must try! I highly recommend you check this restaurant out.
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
One of our favorite breakfast place! Such a bright and inviting space with delicious food. The truffle homefries are to die for. The omelets are fluffy and my husband loves the avacado toast. All of the pastries look so fresh and tasty. The portions are perfect and service is great!!

Yelp
It's very first to eat at Jackie and son. I wanted try here so bad for long time. Cashier woman recommended me grain bowl and ordered. When I get my order looks soooo yummy but it's super salty!!!! I couldn't even finished my plate at all and I kept drinking water. I was with my girlfriends so I didn't tell anyone at restraunt about salty food I got. It's wasted my money.... And disappointed. I won't go back there again

Ryan C.

Yelp
I get breakfast from this place almost every morning and I rotate between the breakfast burrito and the beef scramble. The juices and smoothies are also really good. Overall, really reliable and great breakfast options.

Grayson K.

Yelp
Ordered on Uber eats and left a note that it was my bday for extra whip cream and sure enough they gave me extra whip cream and a cookie!! What amazing thoughtful service. Thank you for the amazing food always.
google avatar

Leonid D.

Yelp
Good food and quick service. Very polite staff. Ambiance was of a bustling cafe. This place is first come first sit, you order at the register and they give you a number, then the food is brought to you. I really enjoyed my food. Truffled potatoes are a nice touch.
google avatar

Neelam P.

Yelp
In late March, they were only offering take out with tables outside, luckily the day was beautiful and a table opened up at just the right time. The inside looks adorable though! The shakshuka is pretty good. The tomato sauce was very flavorful and I loved the feta and toast with it. My kids shared the blueberry pancakes and loved them. The portion size is pretty big and there are plenty of blueberries baked right in. My husband had the Jackie & Sons omelette and enjoyed it. He was a huge fan of the truffle fries. Overall, this is a really nice brunch spot to check out if you're in the area.

Yelp
College town gem. If you're going to Seton Hall as a student, you are lucky to have this hip place walking distance from campus. Great coffee and very tasty food. I LOVED how my Jackie and Son scramble came with slices of cheese. You never get slices of cheese (unless it's an appetizer)! And it was GOOD cheese! Very cute interior. You can probably get away with doing work in here on your laptop. Super duper lovely here.

Yelp
Recommend! Stopped in for brunch after hiking at South Mountain, and we were very happy to have taken a chance on this place that we picked on a whim from Google! Menu is Mediterranean inspired, and portions are generous. Order at the counter and seat yourself. A few outdoor tables as well. Parking lot (metered) close by, as well as street parking (but on the main street the time limit is short). Enjoyed the food - beet mezze and Grains of Nazareth were my favorites, and I also loved the raspberry lemon scone, tahini brownie and mint lemonade. Wouldn't order the potato salad or roasted cauliflower mezzes again, but they were ok.

Yelp
This place is simply amazing!!! I've ordered here over 10 times religiously while I'm at my workplace & they have NEVER dissapointed. The times in which I have called the staff has always been friendly & willing to listen & follow directions. The quality of food ingredients are elite & their food tastes amazing every single time!! My favorite are the smoothies which they accommodate to my dietary needs every time (vegan) & the mujadara along with the avocado toast! Thank you guys for wonderful quality & service!!

Yelp
I was here earlier in the week, which was my first time eating here. I enjoyed the lamb gyro and falafel. Lamb was tender and seasoned well. I also had the blueberry lemon cake, My goodness. Frosting is buttery, real blueberries tart but sweet. Lemon not overwhelming. Space is open yet intimate farm house style. Vibrant atmosphere indoors. On Beautiful sunny spring day you can have your lunch or brunch outdoors. Family oriented. Staff is welcoming, and professional. Yes to the sounds playing in the background. Patrons conversing with each other at their tables. Today makes it my second time here.within the week. I re order the same meal, and for the cake I'll be having the carrot cake. Ill let you know how it was next time. I

Yelp
This was the first time here. The restaurant was very friendly. It felt like a neighborhood meetup area. Atmosphere was great. My meal was great and the portion was healthy!!!

Yelp
I go to school up the road and this is always a place I go to when I want brunch with my friends or something to treat myself. Food comes out fast and is always so good. I also love their coffee, teas, and juices. It is a little pricy but like I said for a nice treat of some fresh and delicious food it's worth it.

Yelp
Great place! Gets full fast! Quality food! Warm months are great cause they add outside seating!

Dashae M.

Yelp
Who are these people giving these high ratings??? Have you never had a great breakfast before??? Jackie & Son Scramble was an absolute FAIL! Cold limp eggs. 4 barely Roasted Tomato with no seasoning (salt, pepper, thyme), although there was a sprig of thyme for garnish - it would've been better if roasted with the tomato (missed opportunity). Home Fries; poorly cut potatoes. No uniform size, therefore some were cooked well, others weren't, be it over or under cooked. Not to mention, how do you serve potatoes with not a single grain of SALT! MEH! Bacon half over cooked, half under cooked and served with a handful of shredded Romaine Lettuce on top (huh???). At last, the French Toast, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! If the amount of care taken for the French Toast was used across the other items, this review would be completely different. And even though the French Toast was amazing, I won't return because I wouldn't be lucky twice to get it just as good. A total waste and let down. I feel like I just took $45 and lit a match to it.
google avatar

Diane J.

Yelp
The food here is really delicious, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Will definitely be stopping by anytime I'm in the area

Amaris M.

Yelp
Once my favorite spots. My go to orders are Grains of Nazareth, the chicken BLT and a smoothie or a juice. 10/10 food and service every time.

Yelp
Wow. I'm surprised I have not reviewed Jackie and Son yet. This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite restaurant in then area. Their blueberry pancakes are the best pancakes I ever had in my life and I'm a pancake purist, usually don't even like blueberries or chocolate chips in mine. The butter syrup, the texture, the flavor. Oh my god. Just out of this world. I'm currently pregnant and have craved and had it multiple times. My husband says all I ever talk about is Jackie and Son's blueberry pancakes. Other dishes are also delicious. Their fries are so good! I've had an eggs breakfast, so tasty. I just love everything about Jackie and Son. I'm a regular!

Celeste R.

Yelp
Omg, this place is absolutely delicious. We got a bench outside. It was beautiful day to do just that. My friend ordered the French toast, which looked and tasted absolutely amazing. I ordered the avocado toast. Very flavorful without it being salty. Got a Power Twist juice. I also ordered a scallion cheddar scone. I wish this would've been warmed up a little. Downside, is that it doesn't have servers who take your order. The tables outside are benches, so you're sitting with other people, which is not necessarily my jam. The staff is friendly, those who actually bother to make eye contact and acknowledge my presence. I Had questions about the baked goods and was fully ignored twice. The food quality and outweighs any negative, and don't be scared by the long line. It moves fast and the food is ready in a timely manner. Would definitely go back to try other stuff!!

Yelp
a bit expensive but yummy. food is excellent, service is relatively quick, and decor is great. really welcoming and modern.

Yelp
Always yum, food is consistently delish. Service is always friendly. Place appears clean and well maintained. A tad pricey but ingredients are worth it.

Yelp
Right on the corner in downtown South Orange. Gets busy due to proximity to SHU. its a favorite of the locals and college kids. Can have a wait during peak times so call ahead if possible. During the summer they have outdoor seating. They do breakfast and lunch. Food is American meets Mediterranean. love the grains of nazareth, lentil soup and Smoothies. baked goods are great as well. highly recommend!
google avatar

Ran W.

Yelp
Came here for a brunch date and loved it. There was a line but it moved super quickly. We ordered the breakfast burrito, avocado blt, and the chicken gyro. Also for coffee and a slice from the baked goods section. Everything was fantastic and the service was also lovely. Will be returning!

Arianne W.

Yelp
Jackie and Sons has the best French toast hands down. I also enjoy their truffle fries. My top recommendation when visiting this restaurant. The ambiance is friendly and inviting. You can bring your laptop to work (although it does get pretty loud when it's busy) or you can chat for hours with your friends.
google avatar

Diondra B.

Yelp
Great local breakfast shop in town. I come here often and only had a small incident once in which they addressed immediately. My favorites are the scones and pancakes. My family also enjoy their bacon egg and cheese and French toast. I've had their chicken shawrma wrap too that was delicious. Overall great place
google avatar

Tiaesha F.

Yelp
It's always a pleasure coming here. The service is always so pleasant and the food is delish. I try to make sure I order something different everytime but the French Toast is my go-to any day. A nice ambiance and good food is always a plus.

Yelp
Good brunch! Gets crowded. Lots of options. Chai latte- with rose pedals! Jackie omelette - love those truffle fries Shashuka- very good
