At a New American Bistro, Chef Jerome Grant Explores a Range of Multicultural Influences - Eater DC

"Jackie, the recently rebranded restaurant attached to Dacha’s year-old beer garden in Navy Yard, is where Chef Jerome Grant utilizes live-fire cooking with a konro grill. The menu is an American bistro style, allowing Grant to cook what he wants with creative freedom. Dishes include dry-aged strip steak, trumpet mushrooms, prawns with pineapple sambal, grilled duck meatballs, and more. Influences from Grant’s Filipino heritage are also present in dishes like 'mom’s spaghetti' and scallop crudo. The restaurant offers a mix of chic and casual dining, featuring pop art of Jackie Kennedy." - Gabe Hiatt

We originally went to Salt Line, but after 10 minutes of failed service we walked out and went to Jackie’s for a Saturday brunch. Not only were the servers attentive (thanks, Miguel), but the food and atmosphere were 10/10. Great bottomless mimosas and delicious food. They even did something special for the birthday we were celebrating. Head here - skip Salt Line and District winery

Ethan and Eden were amazing bartenders and servers!! Their drinks were true works of art. The cauliflower steak was out of this world. Every little detail, including the glassware made this a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Google
Wow, we just hosted a baby shower here and it was exceptional!! They were so responsive, helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. Sarah was our server and she was absolutely amazing with our group. Could not recommend this enough for a private event. Food was amazing and the vibes were exceptional!

Google
This place was phenomenal. Everything exceeded my expectations. The decor is incredible. It made me feel like I was in the 50s-60s in a very modern way. Even the restroom was an experience. Food was very good. Their take on eggs Benedict wasn’t outstanding, but the bread and the burrata are definitely memorable, especially the burrata. It’s an explosion of flavors. I would definitely come back here just to eat it again. I liked that my latte came in a metal holder with a handle. It made me feel like I was holding a sword. I don’t know if it was deliberate since I’m a guy, but it made me feel included and strong in such a feminine ambiance.

I’ve been here several times and always enjoyed my experience. The food is generally really good and the happy hour is great! Unfortunately I recently went during happy hour and had an unpleasant experience. My server was still great and food was good. We went to close our two tabs and this is where everything went wrong. I don’t know if this was a manager or owner but this individual made our experience extremely unpleasant. They came back to us multiple times to understand the bill on two separate tabs (which we started with). At this point it had been over 20 minutes of waiting to get our checks. We finally were spoken to by our original server and he was helpful and just ended this debacle by putting all on one tab. The other individual that created this whole issue did not come say anything to us, did not apologize or explain why our two separate checks that began on two tabs became such an issue for her.

I love going to Jackie’s with the girls. They have a really good brunch. Sometimes they have a DJ during brunch which is fun. Highly suggest the “First Ladies club” if you like gin!

Google
Great dinner! The daily punch was a delicious whiskey concoction. The onion tart was so good! I could have had another one. We split the steak and it was good. I would have preferred the butter on the side but it was all tasty. The lemon sorbet was also very good. We sat on the cute covered patio looking at the water. Only issue was some smokers outside walking by. Not the restaurants fault and it was the only negative all night.

"Had an unforgettable dinner at Jackie's Restaurant at the Navy Yard! The view of the river was absolutely spectacular, and our waiter, Miguel, was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. The lobster pasta was truly out of this world - kudos to the Chef for a dish that exceeded all expectations! The service was top-notch, the atmosphere was lively and fun, and the cocktails were expertly crafted. TheGM’s hospitality added to the exceptional experience. Highly recommend Jackie's for a memorable night out!"

Yelp
This place is SUPER CUTEEE, outdoor seating is gorgeous! We sat outside in the covered patio for brunch. The menu was pretty simple. We got Steak & Eggs and Chicken and waffles and some fruity cocktails to pair. Our server was nice and even accommodating when my meal came out cooked not to my liking hence the ice cream. It was a nice find, would likely go back.

Yelp
Jackie has been a consistent staple in the Navy Yard neighborhood for several years. It doesn't disappoint and the atmosphere and service are always welcoming. I stopped by with some friends on a beautiful Fall day and sat outside on the patio to enjoy the view. The cheese board and meatball appetizer were delicious and always my go to. I ordered the short rib entree, which was cooked perfectly and a Macintosh cocktail. One of my friends had the salmon which was good and another had the branzino which was fabulous and probably one of the best branzinos I've had in a while. I need to make it back to their brunch soon!!

Yelp
The dish that I ordered - rigatoni with a side of mushrooms was really good. The craft drinks were good. The service was great! The waiter was patient and kind - even tho I had several questions. The ambiance inside and out - great. I wish they had plant based "milk" options for my coffee. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails- I noted that all of them were beautifully presented. Would definitely go back. Cute date spot or place to hang with friends. I wish the menu had more pescatarian and vegetarian options.

Yelp
The food here was pretty good. I got the chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, chicken tenders, and the American brunch. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was delicious. However, the chicken was doused in buffalo sauce, which made the waffle soggy and drenched with buffalo sauce. If you get this, I would ask for the chicken on the side. I also ordered green tea and they put the hot water in the cutest tea pot. The service was phenomenal! As soon as you walk through the door, the hostess took our coats to hang them up. The manager also came to our table and talked to us. Everyone was so friendly. The ambiance was spectacular. It felt like a little cafe in Paris. There wasn't loud music which was nice so you could have a conversation. The area itself is very spacious.

Yelp
Great option in the Navy Yard area. I haven't been to this side of town in a while, so it was nice to see all the new additions. We were looking for something to eat before our alumni holiday party, and this was worked out. There wasn't much of a wait. We got seated right away. As far as parking, it's scarce. We were staying nearby, so we walked over. Service was good. I ordered the steak frites, and it was filling. A bit steep at $32 though. The ambiance is nice. I can see myself coming back here if I'm in the area.

Yelp
** GREAT FOR KIDS! ** Contemporary menu. Food was ok, somewhat bland and not super spectacular. The mango sorbet is mouthwatering!! Very nice service and kids friendly! Loud and dark ambiance. Excellent wine selection!

Yelp
Discovered Jackie's after searching for a restaurant near our hotel out in Navy Yard. It was a quick 10 min walk from the Cambria. We got there right around 6:30 and were able to get a seat at the bar. It started getting really busy right around 7:30. They do take reservations, so keep that in mind. At the bar, we were taken care of by our bartender David. He was absolutely amazing. He made awesome drinks, even created a few of his own based on our liquor preference. He also was very efficient. As mentioned, the place started getting packed and he was the only bartender. Didn't miss a beat. Well done! As for the food, we both enjoyed our meals. David also was able to help us make good selections from the menu. They have a wide variety of American classics. It seems like they may switch out their menus, so what you order may not be available next month. I'm sure there are items that remain on the menu. I'd just ask to see just in case you fall in love with a particular dish. Loved the entire experience at Jackie's from the service, to the vibe, to the food!! We will be back.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised with the food at Jackie's. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious (I even forgot to take a pic until I was already halfway through) and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. Kinda like McDonald's fries but way better quality & a massive portion. I got the house punch to drink (the flavor I had was passion fruit) and for $10, it did the job. The restaurant is beautiful inside/outside, it felt almost like I was in Italy or somewhere very peaceful! Our server was very attentive and kept coming up to us to check on how everything was doing. My only quarrel with Jackie's is I do recommend dressing up if you are going to dine in. My friend and I were wearing t shirts & leggings and they seemed to serve us faster than the other customers. To add, when the general manager was doing her rounds and checking up on the other tables- she went to every other table except ours! My friend and I seemed to notice all of this and felt a bit uncomfortable. But nonetheless, great food & next time we will be dressing up.

Yelp
Jackie is cute...but expensive. I alone spent $72 for a drink appetizer and salad. The bar was empty on a Saturday night. Bartender was attentive. Crab salad was delicious. Romaine lettuce tasted a little odd, dressing was thick. Shrimp perfectly cooked.

Yelp
This sits by the water and the ambiance is very nice with chill cool vibe. The service is on point without bending obtrusive but the food is the highlight her. I had the artic char. This is very similar to salmon but has a thinner skin that if properly cooked becomes the perfect crispy foil for the fish. Here it is cooked to perfection and the fish is just cooked enough barley rare. Perfection. It was served with some nice local veggies and light Lemon based sauce. The seafood linguini was also well thought out and cooked. First of all the linguini is a black linguini nicely al dente and with jus the right amount of sauce. The dish is chock full of shrimp (very fresh) mussels, clams, and scallops. And excellent version of this dish. Not an extensive wine list but enough. The list beer is actually better and more well rounded.

Yelp
Jackie's American Bistro is a gem in Navy Yard that consistently exceeds my expectations. The key here is consistency - in food, drinks, and most importantly, customer service. The staff at Jackie's are exceptional, providing A1 service that makes every visit memorable. Their simi-crafted cocktails are a must-try, always delicious and well-balanced. While their happy hour may be small, it's definitely worth checking out. A standout experience for me was their brunch. Nursing a hangover, I was treated with the utmost care - reminiscent of being at a loved one's home. The waiter's patience and the chef's personal check-in were above and beyond. Let's talk about the food: the burgers here are some of the best I've ever had. Yes, it's a bit pricey at $20 for a burger or a chicken sandwich, but the quality and taste make it worth every penny. Plus, the happy hour deal on the chicken sandwich is a steal. A heads-up for future patrons: Jackie's operates on a cashless system, so bring your credit card. In summary, Jackie's is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. With its combination of delectable food, crafted drinks, and stellar service, it's comfortably seated in my top 20 list of places to dine in DC.

Yelp
Jackie has a sort of fun swanky vibe to it. I came here for a HH recently and was excited to try it out for the first time. It was empty, which was nice as I was looking for somewhere calm to kill a few hours. I was disheartened at their HH menu, they have a sizable menu but few HH options. The staff was friendly for the most part except when I tried to get a different sauce for a dish, I was told the Chef will not allow it and no alternative solution was discussed by our bartender. I doubt I will be back, they seemed to go out of their way to make me feel unwelcome.
google avatar

Hunter B.

Yelp
We came here for happy hour after work. The place was really empty but the vibes of the place were cool. The happy hour was just at the bar and the bartender was friendly. The drinks options were ok but the prices were not that great. A cool place but not sure if I would go back.

Yelp
Randomly stopped in here and what an experience! Opted to sit at the bar and Danny was our bartender. He was very friendly and shared his favorite menu items. He also gave tons of information on the area and events happening at Jackie. They have a nice set up, with lots of seating both inside and out. Definitely plan on returning here for dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love.. wait did I say I love this spot!! The aesthetics and energy bouncing off this place is great! I sat by the bar since that's usually my go to. I like to see what the bartender can cook up and I met the right one. Danny was more than exceptional, he was phenomenal and this is rare for me to say. He was an experience! I went with several types of drinks. Was accompanied by my girl and her friend. They indulged in some great drinks as well. I also got some shots that were suggested by Danny. This guy got the sauce when it comes to mixing drinks. I was able to order a the mussels. This was what I needed that night and love every moment of eating it. Definitely return sooner than later. This time I will indulged in more!
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
Drinks were fine - nothing to write home about. They only have one beer on happy hour which I found odd considering how many they had on the menu. Weird thing for a French restaurant to serve pommes frites with ketchup only. When I asked about mayo or an aioli they told me that the chef doesn't serve them with that- which is typical of fries in France. Rude staff, will not return.

Yelp
SERVICE: our waiter Yong/Yung?(sp) was so sweet and attentive and made our experience so wonderful. The entire staff actually, because the host & bussers were also very nice. FOOD: I had the short rib and it was delicious. So good, I ended up taking it home and it was just as good for lunch the next day. I also had the First Ladies Club cocktail and it was *chefs kiss.* AMBIENCE: The music could've been better to set a nice vibe, it was random pop music with minimal thought or flow, so it was a bit jarring at times, but overall it was still a very romantic experience for us. Thank you for making our night so special!

Yelp
*5 for Ambiance, Drink and Service/3 for food* Was dining along on this sunny day out at the patio overlooking the bay. Not a bad life after all. My server brought a sample of Kosmonaut which is an Oak Aged Wild Ale Exclusively for their next door sister beer garden Dacha by the Right Proper Brewing. I also ordered brut rose where I got the bottle popping action earlier on during the day. For food I ordered the Crab Cake benedict. I was super curious about crab salad but that was somehow missing from the plate. For $28 I was hoping for lump crab or something better quality; the actual turned out to be mushy. I guess you can't have it all. Still a pleasant experience today though, especially seeing a special event for dogs next door in the beer garden. Also, you can't beat the Jackie/Jack/Marilyn trio.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant by the river with some tasty food! We ordered from their appetizers and found everything to be very tasty. The cheese biscuits were delicious and came with a butter and jam that gave a nice sweet and salty mix. The watermelon salad was very refreshing and the blended feta was an especially nice touch. Also ordered the Jackie O, which was a pretty light drink with more subtle flavors, but still very good. It was really nice to sit outside and our waiter was very kind and attentive
google avatar

Yelp
The old fashioned is one of the best I've ever had. The bartenders provided great service at the bar, made great drinks, and were so fun to converse with. Highly, highly recommend the cheese biscuits too.

Yelp
Decor & vibe is perfect. Had the jalapeño & cucumber margarita- LOVE. Perfect burger & fries. Service was perfect. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Jackie is a solid happy hour in the Navy Yard neighborhood in D.C. I'm not sure how I found this place, but it turned out to be a lovely spot with happy hour specials of different cocktails and appetizers. Just sit at the bar! Not too far from the Navy Yard Metro station and baseball stadium, Jackie is a restaurant and bar that's only open during the evenings on weekdays. We were the first to arrive for happy hour; but as the night continued on, the place was packed, with nearly every seat at the bar taken. If the bar scene isn't your thing though, the restaurant has a beautiful dining area, with a private event space. As the name entails, Jackie is a Jackie Kennedy-themed establishment. With that said, you'll see magazine covers of the former first lady on a wall and paintings of Jackie throughout the entire restaurant, including the women's restroom. I loved the midcentury modern style here! Service was also great, with a bartender who was determined to make me a mocktail that wasn't your average shirley temple. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of Jackie. Although I only had a bite of the crab fries and buffalo chicken tenders, they were tasty and easy to share. I'm glad to have checked out this stylish restaurant and bar.
google avatar

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for a date night, indoor lighting creates the mood as the turner movie classics are displayed on screens. Perhaps Deliverance isn't the best dinner date movie? Staff were very kind, friendly and humorous, quite knowledgeable about the menu and making recommendations. I cannot say any specific flavor stood out. The seared trout was a great option compared to the short rib which was a bit dry or overcooked. I was curious about the shrimp and fig... the shrimp were a decent size.. although served on a crostini, the fig taste was lacking. The vodka menu is limiting, and the supply chain has impacted the wine selection (per the wait staff). This is a nice neighborhood bistro. I will give it a chance for brunch or breakfast to determine a change in rating.
google avatar

JC R.

Yelp
Well prepared appetizers and well drinks & cocktails will compel me for a return visit! Bartender was pleasant and even prepared an extra special drink that's not on the menu. The crab fries was very good but i'd prefer the sauce on the side though the crisp held up well despite that. Shrimp on fig was yummy but the Buffalo chicken was surprisingly very tasty and better than most! The Hongkong cocktail I had(vodka) was refreshing and was not shy at all! The white wine pours were great! The place is decorated with homage to its namesake Jackie O and the wall to the riverfront was decorated with pictures of the Kennedy family (Jack, Caroline & John) with, I believe, Jackie in most of them either solo or with her her family! While it was nicely decorated, I thought the more than too many orange hues was inapposite to Jackie O's posh and chic style...I don't know...it was a little off for me -texture and color wise! Still it's worth a visit 3.5-4 stars!

Yelp
Went to Jackie one last year with a group of about 10. The apps were perfect for sharing around the table! Our server was also very friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food or drinks. Definitely recommend for a nice atmosphere with good American food!

Yelp
To start- the food is amazing! So if you walk in and it looks a bit empty (I'm still trying to figure this part out because the food and interior is so cute and quaint, it should be totally packed out every single day!) don't let it throw you off, this is where you need to be! Waiter staff plug - Bastian is amazing! I have been to Jackie a couple times and he greets me with nothing but a smile and does a great job making sure you are satisfied! Literally has me ready to pay my bill at the end with excitement. The chicken and waffles is totally that girl! And the hot honey sauce is amazing but for those who don't like there food to touch, get the sauce on the side. I also enjoyed the croque sandwich more than I expected and the French fries HIT! Absolutely add Jackie to your brunch list and it's great for groups!
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
We came for brunch on Saturday. The vibe is casual and "hip". Our party ordered the croque madame, French toast, chicken and waffles, chicken sandwich and the Jackie burger. Croque madame- I enjoyed it! It had a garlic cream sauce that kind of tasted like corn soup? On top. There was a generous amount of ham and the tomato jam wasn't really a jam but sweetened tomato which balanced out the dish really well 4/5 Burger- was my husbands fav of the dishes we ordered. Super moist and flavorful 5/5 Chicken and waffles-- I did not love this. The chicken was supposed to be in a Nashville sauce, but it tasted like buffalo and was SUPER SAUCY and overwhelming and did not go with the waffle In my opinion. 2/5 Chicken sandwich- again was the same chicken and sauce in the chicken and waffles....the description said blacked chicken so im not sure why it tasted exactly like the chicken and waffles...super sour and buffaloey 2/5 French toast-- came out as we were finishing eating bc they said they had to make the sauce that they ran out of but im pretty sure they forgot to put in our order ..the berry sauce tasted delish and unique--had a floral aftertaste. The French toast was too wet for me tho, could have been more crispy on the outside. 3.5/10 Overall ok experience! Don't know if I'd be dying to go back though

Yelp
I've tried to go to Jackie two times since, and both times were awkward, a bit chaotic, and not reflective of a 5-star establishment. I had friends in town and we stopped by for brunch two weekends ago. We waited in line behind a couple and realized there was no host in sight (the host stand outside was totally abandoned). The couple in front of us got frustrated and left after ~10 minutes. We waited another 5, and then I finally went inside to speak to someone. The bartender I spoke to was apologetic and let me know she'd try to locate the host. A good 5 minutes later (note: we've been waiting 20 minutes at this point) the host casually walks up to the stand and begins to greet us - no apology or anything. Then the phone rings and she picks up and proceeds to have a conversation on the phone! We were stunned, and turned around and left. I caught the host rolling her eyes at us. This was the second time I have encountered issues with the host/getting seated. The place wasn't even that busy. Really unacceptable. A shame, because the few times I have dined at Jackie the food was actually delicious. Oh well, we headed to Chloe and had a fantastic brunch.

Yelp
Enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere & attentive service. Drinks and food were good. Also, they allow dogs outside.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner here tonight. To start with, we liked the vibe at Jackie. It has an upscale feel about it, but also casual. This is very much in keeping with the area around Nats stadium in SE. We enjoyed the food, too. We shared the burrata, which was light & refreshing. I also had the fried chicken appetizer & liked it very much. 4 or 5 large pieces & a sauce to dip them in. My husband had the shrimp appetizer. It came with a rich butter sauce.

Yelp
Came down for a girls weekend and found Jackie's for brunch. Lovely staff, good quality food and these purple glasses that are GORGEOUS! Note: if you love the glasses like I do, they sell them! WINNING! Now back to the food.... I ordered the Biscuits and gravy. The dish overall is delish. Cheddar biscuit w/ a sausage gravy which was super creamy and flavorful! The tequila jazz cocktail is a refreshing but bit spicy drink definitely a must! The wait staff super helpful and attentive, maybe a bit too attentive but they do it in a warm and welcoming way! Our server Lilly was sweet, kind and super knowledgeable! The only thing that could have made it better is if we could have sat outside w/ the heated lamps. The host didn't want to turn on the heated lamps. Other than that, this was a great experience!

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Jackie's. Their menu is a little different. The flavors are interesting. I wouldn't say it'd be my first selection on eating out, although they did have some of the best shrimp I've had. Ended up dipping my bread in the sauce after while I waited for another one. The waiter was attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Solid choice on the waterfront at Navy Yard. First time going there, Ive been to Dacha before but never the restaurant. It was three of us and for my share I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was doing exactly what it needed to do and i upgraded my fries to crab fries. I made solid choices. My friends got the Beef Tartare, which was the star of their show. I even tasted it, it was flavorful and if I truly fancied raw beef I would get it. I think its safe to say the "grilled caesar salad" can be missed or consider it not grilled, just regular. The anchovies were missing (not that those are my preference) anyway lol. Then there was the cannelloni and meatballs, which were not a hit either. However, the short rib would rub our third party just the right way. They enjoyed the chocolate cake as well but would have liked a regular vanilla ice cream option to pair with. All in all, I enjoyed the ambiance. Staff was nice, my chicken and fries were delicioso. I only got pics of the apps, we ate everything else pretty quickly.

Yelp
Travelled down to DC with a few friends to celebrate my thirty-first. I had a brunch destination in mind from prior visits, but instead received an invitation to Jackie. I was certainly not disappointed. Located in Navy Yard, Jackie doesn't only have a beautiful view of the Potomac River, but a stunning ambiance inside the venue as well. We were greeted and promptly seated by extremely kind staff and presented with the Brunch Menu. The first thing that caught my eye was the not-so-typical selection of brunch cocktails; bottomless mimosas are great, sure, but Jackie presented you with the option to mix and match a selection of four delectable cocktails - the Jackie O, Hong Kong, an Aperol Spritz and a perfectly spiced Bloody Mary. I chose to start with the Hong Kong and had an Aperol Spritz down the line, both of which were delicious. I should mention that the bottomless cocktails are limited to a two hour time frame, but that is plenty of time to enjoy them all if you choose. For brunch, my group decided on a variety of starters, including the Caesar Salad, Texas Avocado Toast, Creamsicle Parfait and Pastry Platter. All of these were extremely tasty, but the star of the show was (unsurprisingly) the Texas Avocado Toast. Topped with avocado, marinated tomato, micro cilantro and corn chowder, the consensus among the group was that it was by far the best variation of avocado toast that we've ever had. Also, the croutons on the Caesar Salad were...well, let's just say I wish I could have taken a bag home to snack on. For the mains, I have included pictures of each of the group entrees, but I myself had the Biscuits & Gravy with a side of sausage links. I'm a big fan of the entree at home and I've had it at quite a few brunch locations. I can honestly say that the biscuits at Jackie were cooked beautifully - a flaky, crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior, topped with savory sausage gravy and a fried egg (over-easy). A veritable flavor explosion. Two sausage links came with the side, both of a decent size and browned to perfection. Overall, I have nothing but praise for this venue. Delicious food, creative cocktails, friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere make this location a must-visit if you're at the wharf or a worthwhile Metro trip if you're in the DC area.

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch with an out of town friend and i will say the experience was okay. the food was decent and the my friends enjoyed their drinks. I'll just get to the things I enjoyed about Jackie's: - the waffle with the spicier syrup was DELICIOUS - the tater tots were pretty good - the outdoor seating area is very cute. They have these plant wall as dividers so your group can enjoy a meal without being close to others - our waiter was really awesome! In fact everyone we encountered during our visit was fantastic (and I'm a sucker for good customer service) Things I did not enjoy so much: - they add a 15% service charge, that is separate from a tip, that goes to the restaurant and not the waiter. Thankfully our waiter told us it wasn't the tip, but we ended paying an extra 35% of our bill to make sure we gave the waiter a 20% tip. Apparently this began during the peak of the pandemic (which I totally understand) but now that restrictions have loosened, I think this is a bit excessive. - the bbq shrimp and grits were a let down. I was very excited about them but the flavor didn't give what it was supposed to gave!

Yelp
We hosted the rehearsal dinner for our wedding in the private room in Jackie American Bistro in April 2024. Despite the change in sales manager from the time we booked to the time of our event, the staff at Jackie were very professional and communicative and worked with us to customize a meal and drink package that fit our wants, needs, and price point. The private room is beautiful and the perfect space for a rehearsal dinner or other private event. We had a designated server for our event and drinks were a bit slow to come out but the service was otherwise excellent. The sales manager who I was in contact with about the event came to check in on us multiple times throughout the event which I appreciated. The food, drinks, and dessert were absolutely delicious and everyone had a great time! We'll be back again for a meal next time we're in the Navy Yard area!

Yelp
My wife and I went here for brunch with her Groupon that she purchased and we must say that the food and drinks were pretty good. FYI must do the bottomless cocktails for $55p. The Hong Kong(the force is strong in this one)! Will return to check out the happy hour and dinner scene!

Yelp
Cute decor and great place to gather with a large group. It was pretty empty on a weeknight. The food was solid and tasty but definitely expensive for what it was. The garlic shrimp was good but I was expecting more. The mushroom croquettes were okay, I think they could have definitely had a lot more flavor. The bread was hard and stale and whatever butter they served with it was not good at all. Super weird flavor. I split a burger and the full burger would have been too big. The burger was delicious but had hardly any sauce on it. Could have definitely used more. The fries were excellent. I also tasted the snickerdoodle dessert which was hugeeee and really yummy. This was a fun place but the menu is somewhat limited.

Yelp
I've walked past Jackie more times than I can count and finally dropped in the other day with a friend for outdoor dinner. We ordered entirely too much food, but everything was great. We were seated outside near the Jackie mural, which was really kind of a cool effect. It was poppin' like Orville Redenbacher outside because it was a gorgeous day and everyone in Navy Yard was outside. We shared several dishes, with a summary below: -Calamansi pepper wings: I rarely order wings because I'm usually underwhelmed by them. But with these, you could actually TASTE the calamansi in the seasoning, which was awesome. Needless to say, these wings didn't last long on the plate. :-) -Duck pastrami toast: Umm, why doesn't everyone serve this? FYI the dish is duck-only and it does not contain pork (which was a plus for us). This dish was simply excellent. It was an unusual combination that I never would have thought of--duck, peanut butter, peanuts, cherry jam--and somehow those flavors all melded together like the instruments in an orchestra. -Roasted beets & citrus: My friend mostly ate this dish as she was longing for some veggies that day. The thing to note is it is more like a traditional salad (i.e. lots of greens) with some beets at the bottom. From the menu, we were expecting beets to be more the core of the dish, but that was fine. -Jerk chicken sandwich: I typically wouldn't order jerk chicken at a non-Caribbean restaurant, but this sandwich was pretty good. I had the Vida Verde cocktail, which is a mezcal-based drink with a kick. My friend enjoyed the bourbon-based Dragon Smash. They have a small but curated cocktail menu and a longer menu of wine, champagne, and beer. Service was present at the beginning and got spottier as time went on, although we were well taken care of on the whole. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I was recently booked a trip to DC and noticed a former schoolmate had gone to this restaurant called Jackie. I was intrigued and pleasantly surprised that it was inspired by Jackie O. My mother has always been a huge fan of Jacki-O and named me after her so it was a must to pay a visit to Jackie's bristo. The waiter couldn't have been more polished and attentive. He would check on on the table frequently and had an overall pleasant demeanor. The decor was filled with tasteful portraits of Jackie and her famous magazine covers on the wall. In Jackie-O fashion the ambience had a timeless class feel and look. The food was high quality ingredients that matched the overall presentation of each dish.

Yelp
We really wanted to like Jackie's, but the overall experience was really disappointing. Service: we waited 15 minutes before our server arrived to our table and greeted us to take drinks. She was very sweet and helpful as the rest of our visit had quite a few disasters. Food: When we ordered the breakfast pastries for $16, we weren't told they were out or some of them Prior to being served. They did take them off our bill but this was just the beginning of things gone wrong. Presentation was inconsistent (key garnishes missing, no syrup brought out for chicken and waffles). One of our friends ordered chicken and biscuits which was cold and flavorless. Our server helped expeditiously and she reordered a chicken and waffles instead. This is where our patience took a toll: the chicken was severely undercooks, and was raw and bleeding from the center. We sent that back, and besides the serving staff and management taking it off our bill, nothing concrete was really offered to us to make up for these offenses. Overall, the atmosphere was great, but this place is severely overpriced, and lacking a bit on customer service. We're still jaded they charged our friend $5 for her pineapple juice after she barely ate after two bad meals. Most likely won't give them another try, mediocre food at high prices aren't our thing.

Yelp
I knew this place would wreck my wallet, and even though I was right, it was totally worth it. Located right in Navy Yard, this place is super fashionable and their menu is mouth-watering. I started with their Jackie O cocktail, which was super light and refreshing. My friends got espresso martinis, which looked amazing, as well as beers (since they share some space with Dacha). Next came the fries, which are perfectly thin and crispy, and the beef tartare. Now, I won't get tartare anywhere (food poisoning is real, y'all) but I took a chance here and it was absolutely phenomenal. For those of y'all looking at the pic attached, the yellow stuff is a mustard sauce, not cheese! Also, my friends who got burgers absolutely loved their meals, and the salads looked pretty appetizing as well. It was so nice to sit outside, and the staff were very friendly. Weirdly, the worst part of this place was the restrooms. Even though they looked nice, they smelled absolutely horrible, which I really didn't expect. Overall, I'd definitely come back to sit outside with friends and share drinks and fries!

Yelp
Deliciousness - 3.5/5 Happiness - 2/5 My wife and I went there for our 11th Anniversary. And I guess she's a saint for being with me for 11 years! Initially, I made a reservation. Despite that, when I showed up, they said the dining room was full and sat us next to the bar. Not a huge deal, but kind of odd considering I'd booked the big day. In any event, I was really excited about Jackie but it just didn't deliver. First, everyone raves about the duck and it's on the menu, but they were out of it. And we didn't exactly get there late (6:30). It's always disappointing when the signature item isn't on the menu. Also strange, they were playing Law and Order SVU at the bar, so it was a bit funny to be on a romantic date while people are sobbing over their traumatic experiences on the screen. The service was spotty as well (I believe our waiter only came by 2-3 times) and didn't even offer us a celebratory dessert or anything. The positive is that the portions are very big. We ordered the steak tartare, a Caesar salad, and beet soup and all were more than generous helpings (indeed, I even took home quite a bit of the salad). They also have a very unique beer list with a lot of German options (which I quite enjoy). That said, not much of it was impressive. The lettuce of the salad overwhelmed the dressing flavors and the anchovies were way too salty (even for anchovies). The beet soup was interesting but not anything we'd try again. I also ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was very dry - no nice mouthwatering moisture when I bit in. I'd normally rate it a 2 but my wife said it was hand's down the best risotto she ever had. Although she too was underwhelmed with the overall experience, she said she'd come back all the time for the risotto. So for risotto and German beer fans, I give it a thumbs up. For everyone else, I think you can find something better.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend came here for happy hour/dinner and absolutely loved it! You can sit outside even on a hot day because their outdoor area is very well covered/shaded without compromising the beautiful view of the river. The staff from the hostess to the waiter were very friendly, professional, and gave great food and drink recommendations. We got a mix of the happy hour and dinner menu. For drinks: - Jackie O - super light tonic sparkling drink, perfect for a summer day - Old fashioned apparatchik - mezcal based old fashioned that is very strong and tasty but, must love mezcal because the smokiness is very prominent - Espresso martini - one of the most popular drinks and for a good reason - so tasty and a great way to end the night! From the happy hour menu: - Grilled shrimp - jumbo, quality shrimp in a garlicky butter sauce. So delicious! - Caesar salad - creamy and garlicky homemade dressing. Also delicious! For dinner: - Rigatoni ragu - cooked perfectly al dente in a homemade red meat sauce! - Burger - prepared as ordered (we got medium) with thick, quality bacon. We got the garlic, parm fries with it which, were perfectly crispy For dessert: - Snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich - honestly, I could've gone without this. The cookies are kind of crumbly and not the soft chewy kind. The ice cream was very flavorful and unique though - I just ate some on its own - Apple pie empanadas - super unique and personally I also could have gone without it because, I prefer cakey/soft desserts but, my boyfriend loved this dish! The empanadas come with a creamy sauce to dip them in

Yelp
Service was great. I lost my mask on the walk over from Cap Hill and the hostess happily gave me a new one of theirs. We sat on that patio by a fire pit which was beautiful and I appreciate the way they organized their tables/chairs to be able to look out over the water and Dacha beer garden. The food was probably 2.5/5. We ordered the Spam Fried Rice, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, and the Sizzling Pork with a side of Asparagus. The Spam Fried Rice was too greasy and bland, but a decent option. The Sizzling Pork (great presentation, by the way -- it's brought out Sizzling (I know.. shocker) in a skillet with a side of rice) was way too salty. The side of rice was really good and they somehow (whether intentionally or not) cooked it such that there was a crunchy top layer with the herbs and butter. The asparagus was wonderfully seasoned with this tart citrus marinade but was so overly cooked it ruined the dish. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich was probably the best dish we tried and if you're looking for a good chicken sandwich this one I can recommend, though at the price point I think there are better options elsewhere. Our server was great though and it was a nice date, just wish the food had been better.

Yelp
Food... eh not a lot of flavor Service.... Non-existent Ambiance... lackluster could've been the weather Came in on a Saturday night for a late dinner (around 9pm) and there were about four tables and two servers and two bartenders. Our server was hard to find and had to grab her when we could. There was a table of four next to us with a birthday girl that seemed to be the server's only point of attention so we placed our order at the bar with the bartender. Food arrived we got the fried chicken sandwich and crab fries and steak frites w/ crab. As we sat eating our meal there was an empty table sat twice next to us... both times the patrons left because they couldn't find the server after at least 15 minutes. There was plenty of staff to clear the tables and the bartenders were ever present. Once we interrupted the server while over talking at a table and ignoring the rest of the tables she seemed to be re-focused on her multiple tables. Overall food was unmemorable and service has much room for improvement.

Yelp
I visited Jackie's on a Saturday night. Our reservation was for 9PM and the crowd was light. Their outdoor seating is very nice at night when the weather is just right. For drinks I tried the TequilaJazzz and a pineapple margarita (waitress recommended). Both drinks were good. The tequilajazzz has a nice kick to it but not too spicy. The pineapple margarita was strong but our waitress made sure I had enough juice added to it so I could truly enjoy it. Our waitress Lily was thee BEST! She gave such great recommendations and made sure everything was to our liking. We had great service the entire time. For food, we tried the cheese biscuits for an appetizer. They're not red lobster cheddar biscuits but they were pretty yummy with the bacon butter and jam. The meal also came with a complimentary bread basket with a nice garlic butter. My friend had the steak frites which was cooked to his liking and delicious according to him. The portion is pretty good for the price. I had a Caesar salad and the fried chicken appetizer for an entree. Both were delicious and filling. The chicken is two thighs double fried with a nice spicy sauce on top and burnt onion ranch on the side. Lastly, Lily convinced us to try the chocolate cake and we had no regrets! The cake was moist and delicious. I definitely will be back for brunch in the near future!

Yelp
Took my mother-in-law here for her birthday, outdoor space is beautiful and the end door interior design is exquisite. Rating two stars down because it was a bit pricey for what you're receiving. Food was mediocre at best. It was so cold inside, if you're eating inside have a blanket. Outside had lots of mosquitoes. Definitely had to choose your poison. staff was very friendly but it looked like they were having some technology challenges and using new systems.
