Stopped in for Saturday brunch around 10:30 and was seated right away. Drink orders taken and brought quickly. Started with a pop over, which was good. Breakfast was delivered relatively quickly and hot. Pancake batter wasn't great but blueberries were fresh. Eggs were prepared well, toast was well buttered and sides good. Chicken sausage was a good alternative meat option, very tasty. Would recommend

I’ve never understood the fascination with Jack’s and always thought it was just serviceable food. But it had a decent vibe and friendly service. Under new ownership it’s gone further downhill in my book. Bland looking plate of hash and eggs. Hash had a strange aftertaste. Asked for crispy home fries because I know if you don’t they’re barely warm, but they were still far from crispy. Servers were friendly and attentive at the counter but everyone else working there looked miserable. Pretty hot in there as well with no cross ventilation or fan. Can’t imagine what it will be like in July. Never again. Sticking with Red Cottage or The West End.

Great quiet little place for breakfast! The Jack' Eggs Benny was great!

CASH ONLY! We visited on the strong recommendation of a nearby local business we regularly shop on the way home from weekends in Provincetown. Lots of parking on a side road leading off the main road which also serves as the parking lot. Charming exterior like an old house. I read the original owners retired and sold the business just a few weeks ago to a family who appears to have several family members working in the restaurant along with the previous staff. Upon entering, It might seem a little confusing as you walk into a foyer which also has counter/bar seating adjacent an open kitchen. There isn't a discernible host station so we just waited near the "wait to be seated" sign. An employee came up to us within a few minutes to seat us. As we were waiting, we noticed a pan of beautiful popovers on a counter and we knew right away we needed to try one. It was around noon which is just an hour before closing and were lucky to be seated at a very comfortable, roomy corner window booth. The main dining room is a large open space, very clean and naturally lighted from many windows. A young man came up to our table right away with water and took our drink orders. Coffee was delicious and piping hot and I love that they serve their soft drinks in a can with a glass of ice on the side. We let our server know we were first timers and enthusiastic about the many special items on the menu. We were immediately drawn to the special popover we had observed earlier, served with melted brie, raspberry jam, fresh raspberries and bacon. We decided to share one as a breakfast appetizer, before our entrees. It arrived with melty brie cheese, raspberry jam and bacon still bubbling from the griddle. No fresh raspberries, however which we didn't notice until we were half done with it. For our entrees, we settled on 2 of the extensive Eggs Benedict items on the menu. I had the Irish Benedict, house made Corned Beef Hash on a traditional english muffin. My husband chose a Florentine Benedict with spinach, served on potato pancakes instead of an English muffin. While waiting for our entrees, we observed some of the great young staff circling the dining room helping out the servers by refilling coffee, run food, bus tables and generally keep things clean and stocked. Our waitress was a little short with us, however, like she didn't want to be there, or maybe it was a long shift. We got what amounted to an eye roll from her at one point over a question we had about a menu item. When our entrees arrived we were a little disappointed with the messy presentation, and even more disappointed that they were both lukewarm. I could have said something, but by this time the restaurant was closing in a half hour and it's always such a big deal to complain in person. I also hate wasting food and probably waiting longer for the kitchen to redo an order that should have been right the first time, especially when you're starving. Maybe asking that the popover to be served first allowed our entrees to be left sitting longer than they should have. The home fries served are seasoned red potatoes chunks, cooked ahead, but not really what I would call home fries as they weren’t very warm and not browned on the griddle for very long to reheat them, if at all. My hash was tasty, but chopped up so finely that it was crumbly and mealy in texture, and again, not at all grilled, caramelized or cohesive . The english muffin was barely toasted and difficult to cut through. The poached eggs were cooked ok, but placed all on one muffin half with very little Hollandaise. The potato pancake on the florentine was better, but nothing on either dish was hot. We went to pay the check with a credit card, not realizing that the restaurant accepts cash only. Kind of thought our waitress might have mentioned this when we told her it was our first time visiting. Also no ATM on site, so I had to walk down the street to a bank to get money. We'll remember if we visit again.

Very cute. Greeted as soon as we entered. Waitstaff was friendly. Food was quick and tasty. Nice, bright airy building. Prices good for a breakfast/lunch place.

Google
Our favorite breakfast place on the Cape. Food was standard breakfast fare. Their popovers are really good! Service was excellent as always. Go early as they do get busy but the tables turn over pretty fast.

Almost a year after the owner of the cafe changed, changes are now noticeable; the food has become a little different from what it was. I can't say whether this is good or bad. I was disappointed not to see my favorite Benedict blt on the menu. but the atmosphere was still preserved of the same place where we used to come for breakfast.

Google
I’ve had breakfast at a lot of places on the Cape but for me “Jack’s Out Back” stands above them all. The quality of their food is outstanding. From the coffee on, everything is always top shelf. I’m a big fan of their own country ham. It’s a little extra if you opt for it over the regular ham but is worth every penny. Large tasty pieces oozing with flavor are what you’re in for if you order it. I ordered poached on GF multigrain toast as well. The eggs were perfect, not hard, not runny, but just in between they way i like them. The GF toast is the best i’ve had anywhere. GF bread/toast is often not that tasty but at Outback Jack’s it is, a pleasant surprise. Home fries are the best i’ve ever had anywhere on or off Cape. If you’ve never been Jack’s is a little tricky to find. It’s tucked in way back behind some businesses on Rt. 6A. Just follow the driveway “Outback” to a large parking lot and you’ll find “Jack’s”. I almost forgot Cash only and they offer complimentary coffee at the front as you just might have to wait for a High Top, Booth or the Counter.

Yelp
Steak bombs for a solar installation crew. Delicious. Great spot for brunch! Hidden gem

Steve H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. It located behind other buildings off of main street in Yarmouth port. They have a large area where you can sit at the bar and behind that there is general seating. One of their specialties is home made popovers. They are huge and tasty. I ordered an omelette with Swiss cheese, bacon and sausage. Home fries were included. The omelette was large enough for me to get 3 meals out of it

Yelp
Jack Benny eggs benedict was my breakfast choice. Served over potato latkes with ham and spinach. Outstanding. Wow Alexa served me at the counter but get there early as this is busy and popular with the locals. I'm pretty certain, like me you will taste why it's so popular.

Alison L.

Yelp
This is our favorite breakfast place on the cape. A lovely, cozy atmosphere. My go-to is the hash Benedict (probably the best homemade hash I've had). The number 2 omlette (bacon and avocado) was phenomenal as well. The homemade English muffin bread is absolutely outstanding and a must.

Scrum C.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast spot on the Cape. What stands out is they do everything so well and are creative without overdoing it! Unlike many other places, the food is super quality, never greasy, and always a good price. I have never left here feeling bloated! Highly recommend the blueberry pancakes!

Joe C.

Yelp
What a nice find. This restaurant is tucked behind another antique building on Rt 6A in Yarmouth. I've driven by it tons of times without ever noticing it. Apparently I've been missing out all these years! Excellent and varied menu. Lots of options for everyone. We have vegetarians, vegans and carnivores in our family and there's plenty of options for everyone. I made my first visit with my wife. I had the raspberry popover with bacon and 2 eggs. My wife had a more traditional breakfast of eggs, home fries and toast. Everything was delicious, very reasonably priced, and the staff was super friendly. However, they don't accept credit cards so plan on bringing cash! I absolutely will be a frequent customer now that I've found this place!

Mackenzie M.

Yelp
The is restaurant is super cute. The service is very good and quick. Their food is very good, I got French toast it was delicious. I went with my grandparents it was a great experience. It is a great family friendly spot.

Taylor F.

Yelp
Set back from the road, a hidden gem!! Amazing pastries, breakfast was great, and service was great, especially from Andi the golden retriever. The complimentary coffee cake while waiting for a table was great. Popovers to die for. Well worth the wait.

Ann P.

Yelp
Wow, it's been ages since I was at Jack's when the former owner, Jack, ran the show. I recall whenever there was a tip, Jack would ring a bell. The place has changed with a fresh look but the food was delish. I dined with some colleagues. Two of us opted for the scrambled egg popover breakfast with some adaptions; no ham cheese or tomato for me and my friend added feta vs cheddar and bacon vs ham. Our other colleague enjoyed eggs benny florentine. First off, service was flawless, thanks to Colin. Secondly, there is no music, a moderate noise level and nicely spaced tables so overall, a pleasing. Food came swifly. The star were the light and fluffy popovers. The Jack's version was not as great as my moms (smile) but darn good. The scrambled eggs were really an omelette. Not a fan when that happens. The homefries were excellent. So much love for my return visit to Jack's.

I Yelled B.

Yelp
I ordered the Brie Apple and fig omelet out of curiosity and ready to maybe wish I hadn't but let me tell you, this is the best omelet I have had in ages. I was not expecting this combo to be so good! The restaurant is family friendly all the way around. They accommodate strollers and Inglesina seats workout great here. This will be my new go-to when we are in town every few months. The staff are just so so nice!

Brian L.

Yelp
Not until after I toured the EG House did I realize that Mr. Gorey himself used to eat at this place and even had his own special booth! I only came here slightly coincidentally by looking up places to eat near the Gorey house and saw all the positive reviews. For me, this is standard diner type of fare. Maybe there's a subtle difference between diners across the country, or maybe it was the menu item I chose that didn't tickle my fancy, but it's really basic American breakfast type of food. I wasn't upset about it, but it didn't blow me away. All the staff working there was really friendly and they had a "get your name on a list" system for Sunday break-brunch. I was called quickly as a solo traveller and sat at the counter. If you're in the area, certainly come by. CASH ONLY!

Yelp
As an overview, Route 6a is an iconic road where, for a stretch, an observer can experience a vibrant glimpse of early Americana. And if said guest becomes famished, Yarmouthport's Jack's Outback II enhances the nostalgic vibe. Set back against the woods, this sun-splashed morning exuded classic New England ; and Jack's, fireplace included, beckoned like a Norman Rockwell painting. The only hard task was picking a dish! But decide we must and soon, my wife's Philly and Cheese Steak Omelette, broad and generous as a whale watch came - but light on cheese. My Potato Pancakes arrived lightly grilled with scallions and sour cream adjacent to a hot dollop of scrambled eggs prepared in a unique fashion, as if a barista made eggs, too. Meanwhile, our server, Tati, was world class and open to refills of cups and quaint teapots. And did I mention the charming, spotless bathrooms? Yet I have to say, in such a distinctive setting, surely Jack's could serve a better coffee; alas, just average. But hey, is that the whinnying of the mailman's horse from olden times we hear? No matter: we're marking this site a keeper!

Susan S.

Yelp
A gem. Love this place. The owner keeps it looking updated and clean. The menu is so extensive there is something for everyone. The food is so great and everything is made from scratch. The dogs on the property are the bonus. They welcome visitors and are so friendly. It reminds me of my trips to Europe where dogs are allowed in restaurants with their owners.

Daniel R.

Yelp
Excellent, quality food in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. Our server was friendly and efficient. It was good to see owner, Louis in the kitchen preparing our food and providing good experience for us here as he does at his other restaurant, IL Montinello. Thank you!

Don Y.

Yelp
The food was average. Not sure if they have AC or if it was broken. It was 90 degrees inside, very uncomfortable. Not very clean. If food was great I could get past everything else, not sure I would go back

Lauren B.

Yelp
Best breakfast on cape cod. Coming from a family of chefs. There are a million restaurants around here, but only a handful of good ones. Jack's makes the list. Great staff, too.

Nancy S.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant on the cape. Andi is adorable and he makes his way around the table. Friendly staff and everything we ordered was delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend Jack's Outback.

Paula W.

Yelp
I hesitate to even review Jack's because I don't want a lot of people knowing about it and making it even busier than it already is. It wouldn't be fair to them so here it goes.... Jack's Outback is fabulous! I have never ever had a bad meal there. I think my only complaint ever is I get too full and so I ask for a little less ham in the Popover special. You must have a popover. You also must keep coming back to try everything on the menu. I have never been disappointed. People on here have talked about bad service! The only bad service I have ever gotten here was most times the host or hostess is usually asleep outside and I need to walk over them. They really need to talk to them about that!! LOL

R d.

Yelp
Great staff, great breakfast with silky delicate eggs. Definitely worth your time and money!

Casey H.

Yelp
I think it's ridiculous. This place does not except credit cards. That's so antiquated. Any restaurant worth their salt now accepts credit cards.

David G.

Yelp
It's been many years since I had a chance to go to Jack's. Lots of changes: ownership and now much bigger than I remember. What hasn't changed is the friendly service (okay, Jack was a bit gruff but in a good way) and quality food. Go early or pack your patience as you'll wait in line to get into this gem.

Eileen F.

Yelp
First, the people here are so nice, from the employees to the patrons! Second, we sat outside and it was very cute. Lastly, the food was really good, especially that challah french toast!

Robin G.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast spot with too much to choose from. Went twice during my stay. Delicious! Friendly waitstaff. Strong covid protocols in place which was a positive.

Jan K.

Yelp
We've been frequenting Jacks for years. The food is always good with many specials as well as old standbys. Today, however, was one that has changed my view or this place forever. We arrived to find a line with a lady behind us pushing is to get our name one "The List". We've always waited in line with no "list". I guess that has changed so I'm good with that. My husband proceeds to get our name on "The List" and as he was returning to the end of the line. The owner, "list keeper" was so rude to everyone it made it extremely unpleasant to stay. People go to breakfast to relax and enjoy themselves and don't require a tyrannical parental figure to hover over them like children. In a healthy society, mutual trust is a cornerstone of community strength. You can do better than this Jacks Outback!

Kristen R.

Yelp
Not bad for basic breakfast. Eggs Benedict not the best I've had but was not the worst either. Used to have more character before they redid the place.

Amy M.

Yelp
We dined here today. Staff very friendly, huge portions and delicious food. We can't wait to go back and try something different on the menu- so many good choices!

liz m.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service. It's tucked in the back and surrounded by trees. I can't believe I've never been here before. I LOVED the popovers. I had eggs Benedict caprese and it was delicious. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor matched. I will definitely return. Cash only

jackie s.

Yelp
My new favorite breakfast restaurant A little hard to find because it is in the back of some store fronts on 6A but worth the trouble to find The unique menu needs time to take it all in The portions are very generous and the poppers and potato pancakes are delicious I will be returning with new friends and family We met the owner and she is so humble and proud of her dogs and establishment We should have more owners like her Jackie S

Melissa A.

Yelp
Cash only! But that's okay! This place is so cute! The service was amazing! Our server was very attentive and so sweet! And the food was amazing! Huge portions for the price we paid! Our family has been coming to the Cape for years and this is definitely our new favorite spot for breakfast!!! Spacious seating, outdoor seating, fast service, ASK FOR JILL SHES AMAZING!!!

alison p.

Yelp
Jack's food is always wonderful - and the service is great too. But I'm posting this review to mourn the passing of Jack, one of the lovely golden retrievers who used to run this place. RIP Jack - enjoy the delicious bacon in heaven.

Mary D.

Yelp
another great breakfast. my one comment would be to make the potato pancakes a little more crispy. and love the doggies

Elle D.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way out of Cape Cod after a weeklong vacation and wished we found Jack's sooner! They are located at the back of the parking lot behind the yoga studio and had plenty of outdoor seating. Masks were worn by staff and the service was welcoming and kind. The two Golden's roaming around the premises were so sweet and gave the place a real at home, local vibe. The popovers were the biggest I've ever seen and were amazing! My hash was delicious. This will be our new go to breakfast spot whenever we're in the area!

Katherine S.

Yelp
Lovely breakfast with good friends . It was busy but our wait was not long and they served complimentary coffee outside while we waited . The food was fresh and delicious and the ambience very relaxing. Just what we needed after such a long time of staying home ! The golden retrievers are an added plus!

Veronica D.

Yelp
Grrrrrreat pizza.we gat delivered. Friendly bar everyone always seems to be having a good time. Old fashioned pub atmosphere. One more time, the take our pizza is awesome!

Philip W.

Yelp
Jacks bern here long tine. Great story with old owner. Sadness too for Jack. But still the place to go. Will miss the cantankerous happenings many of us oldies know and experienced. Super delicious food! Not to miss on your visit.

Maria S.

Yelp
Checked out this place on the advice of my fellow Yelpers, and it did not disappoint. We missed breakfast, but enjoyed an excellent lunch on a warm Friday afternoon in August. I feared I would have trouble finding anything gluten free on the menu, but the helpful and friendly staff were happy to oblige. While my husband enjoyed the pastrami sandwich with fries, I went for the lunch special of a half avocado stuffed with crab salad and a side of fruit. Not only healthy, but quite delicious! Jack's is definitely a place to check out when on the Cape. Just remember, it's "out back" -- you can't see it from the street -- and the small, nondescript sign is sandwiched between two lawyer's offices. Happy eating!

Alexis R.

Yelp
Super cute location and friendly dogs greet you outside. Bottomless coffee was much appreciated! Great food, service, and very affordable - best priced breakfast we had in the mid cape! Don't forget your cash...!

Joyce M.

Yelp
If you like popovers, this is THE place! Friendly staff, good breakfast options. We get breakfast here year round.

John S.

Yelp
Best breakfast on the cape hidden Gem only locals and long time visitors know about not that easy to find

Craig P.

Yelp
Great food! Just beware the do not take credit cards. The English muffin bread was a amazing!

M W.

Yelp
We are travelers and became aware of Jack's in our search for popovers. What we found was incredible food, people, and facility. We ordered quite a variety for breakfast and plenty of popovers. Everything was just fantastic. The facility is beautiful. The scrambled eggs and omelettes are a wondrous flavor and crepe like. They rate with the #1 omelette in our travels which is Parkway Cafe in Scarsdale, NY. We will be back!

Bev H.

Yelp
Jack's Outback is my favorite breakfast place. Lunch is very good too but there's a group of us that go often for breakfast. Our meet up place! Food is always fresh, very nicely presented, and delicious. Everyone is always so pleasant and the service is wonderful. (Especially Cory!! )

Nick S.

Yelp
Cute breakfast place off of 6A. Limited seating but the food is worth the wait. I had a pulled pork and cheddar omelette and it was phenomenal. The only thing I believe this place is missing is a brunch drink menu, but for those who arent into that sort of thing, this place is an A+!

Kelly C.

Yelp
We got breakfast to go from Jack's yesterday and it was AMAZING. My mom and I each had a breakfast sandwich on Portuguese sweet muffins and they were incredible. She had a waffle as well and said it was delish, and she's a tough critic. I tried one of the popovers, it was HUGE and so fluffy. I am dying to know their secret, I've made plenty of popovers and never have mine been even half as big! Love love love. I've eaten inside before the pandemic but they handled takeout quickly and efficiently. Super friendly folks, too. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Wendi O.

Yelp
Very busy. Hard to get in. Food is superb and very reasonable So fresh the French toast is amazing

Steve B.

Yelp
We were really surprised how good this place is; not easy to find but actually quite large and very busy! Service was outstanding, and so was our food. I tried the salmon Benedict which was top shelf, and arrived in a flash! The best breakfast on the Cape...

Callie M.

Yelp
I have never had a bad meal here! The French toast is to die for. And how can you visit without petting the adorable mascots!? Love seeing the pups whenever we go!

Nader A.

Yelp
Hidden cash-only gem! Being literally outback behind the parking lot behind a building doesn't prevent people from finding Jack's and lining up to get in ... and most of them are the locals! I have been there twice and both times, the service has been outstandingly friendly and the food authentically delicious. Tip 1: go for their popover but ask for some whip cream with it if you dare. Tip 2: have cash with you because they don't take your card. Tip 3: be friendly like you're a local coming to meet your neighbors and friends. Food is great too!

Erika T.

Yelp
Wonderful place for breakfast. Delicious coffee and food and so friendly service. Highly recommend
