Small Group Yellowstone Full Day Wildlife & Geology Adventure: multi-generational appeal for 1st time Teton/YS visitors. Eco Tour was recommended by our Jackson innkeepers for the trek to YS which went quicker than expected given the engaging discussions and wildlife sightings heading north. Karl was our accommodating, approachable, and entertaining guide who helped us spot everything in the clean air to the roadside dirt; elk, bear and cubs, mule deer, osprey, mergansers, pronghorn, wildflowers, and bison (of course). Karl explained the Teton and YS history, the geographic features including mountains, glaciers, moraines, scarps, and rivers to the soil composition, geysers, paint pots, fumeroles, and thermophiles. The well-stocked van included optics/scopes, roof hatches, visual aid iPad, muffins, pressed coffee, and a delicious picnic lunch...but most importantly was Karl's extensive knowledge and varied background. He had something in common with every generation to discuss with some fun banter - US history, scary bear encounters, sourcing local products to cook up a tasty meal, grilling/smoking, birding, journaling, souvenir sticker anxiety (It's real!), fly fishing (his "Foam is Home" advice helped this 1st-timer catch a cutthroat the next day), Jackson food/bar scene, other local attractions (1st rodeo and got those tasty waffles), music (fulfilled a special Phoebe Bridgers request), and even gaming. When we come back to complete the park loops, we will book again! Unforgettable, family memories were made!
