The iconic view that made Ansel Adams famous!
This is IT - the view you’ve seen in a thousand photos and calendars! Jackson Point Overlook delivers that absolutely classic, postcard-perfect shot of the Teton Range rising dramatically from the valley floor. My wife and I couldn’t stop taking pictures, even though we knew they’d never do justice to what we were seeing.
Standing here, you instantly understand why Ansel Adams chose this exact spot for his legendary “The Tetons and the Snake River” photograph. The composition is flawless - the Snake River meandering through the foreground, dense forest stretching across the valley, and those majestic peaks towering in the background like nature’s own cathedral.
What makes this overlook special is how easily accessible it is. Just a short walk from the parking area and you’re rewarded with one of the most spectacular vistas in all of America. The viewing platform gives you the perfect vantage point, and there’s plenty of room even when it gets busy.
We visited during golden hour and the light hitting those granite peaks was absolutely magical. Every angle offers a different perspective, and honestly, we spent way longer here than planned just soaking it all in. This is the kind of view that reminds you why the national parks are such treasures.
If you only have time for one overlook in Grand Teton, make it this one. Absolutely unforgettable! 📷⛰️
