This yoga and surf hostel is an absolute dream! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the friendly owners and the relaxed, living room vibe. The yoga sessions by Juan and Emily were the perfect way to unwind, set in a peaceful space. The hostel itself really feels like a living room, making it easy to feel like its your home, with plenty of chill areas to relax and a big kitchen. It’s in the middle of the city, which is the perfect spot, but since it’s hidden away in it’s own alleyway (behind bohio cafe, which has the best coffee) it’s still very quiet. I can’t wait to come back!

We had a great stay in one of the very cool hangar rooms at the Jacó Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were tasty. Room design was well thought out with built-in shelves, desk and chair, both ceiling and floor fans, and private bathroom with spacious shower. No hot water but who needs it in a place so warm - cold showers felt great! We enjoyed hanging out in the common area and swapping adventure stories with other guests. Centerpiece tree in courtyard is a beauty, lending a sense of tranquility to the Innvironment. Feng Shui all the way baybay! :) *note that you will have to buy purified water as tap water not potable.

Pictures on their website are from four years ago and look nothing like the place now. It’s run down and not very clean, with roaches in the bathroom. Our loft room wall was basically see through. Also the host along with a few guests were smoking weed while we were there. Not what we expected from this hostel that presents itself as a cute yoga and surf retreat.

Our stay here was phenomenal! Juan took us under his wing and went above and beyond, showing us the ropes of surfing, the best fishing spots, and areas outside of Jaco that were absolutely beautiful. They're not just hosts; they're friends now. Super stoked about the whole experience. I hope to see the Jaco Inn fam again sometime soon! :) You guys are the best, many thanks <3

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in!! Everyone was SO nice, I loved the community feel and I felt super safe as a solo traveler. I loved my room and how clean the hostel was overall. Juan’s surf lessons were the best ever and I really loved and was grateful for the journaling group Emily does!! Location was amazing but the people there made it the best experience :)

What a great place to stay on our first trip to Jaco. The staff was friendly, professional and always had a recommendation whether we needed a good surfing spot, a good surfing instructor or restaurant and bar. We stayed in the hanger and our room was excellent. Nice , big and clean. Lots of places to simply chill but also places to sit and chat with new friends. I've stayed in Hostel in Europe North America even including Alaska and this is my favorite by far. I'm almost 62, my daughter just turned 30 and we had a simply outstanding time. I will return and bring my wife for a visit. No doubt. I heartily recommend the Jaco Inn.||Bobby & Maggie Centers|Augusta, GA.

I went to Costa Rica on a whim, booked a room at Jaco Inn and left 3 months later with a new place to call home. There is something so unique and genuinely special about this place. Juan and Emily are incredible people. I did the surf package with Juan which included multiple 1:1 lessons, surf board rental, 3 yoga classes, 6 breakfasts at the cafe and bike rental for long term stays (which was amazing for getting to south beach where we surf - you MUST go see Papo and Papito at Mahi Mahi's over there. Best margs, best sunset view and BEST casado and mixed tacos in town). The family owned and operated Bohio Cafe (located in front of Jaco Inn) has excellent coffee. The place is always busy, its truly a local favorite. You gotta try the 'bohio style' and if you're not into coffee, the 'passionate fruit soda' was my favorite afternoon treat! For food, the muffins are known to be addictively good. I often got the pinto bowl for breakfast which has a little of everything and any of the grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch - Mmmm! Extra tip: the all natural skincare line they sell there has the best chemical-free bug repeliant I found in town and herbal tea mixes sold there were my favorite for at home steeping. Jaco Inn also offers guests free fresh coffee and tortillas in the morning so don't miss out - shout out to Giselle and Mary who make the best homemade torillas! Activity wise: Jaco Inn hosts a bunch of classes - Emily's morning yoga and evening journaling classes are a must try! Her yoga flows were the perfect combination of mindful relaxation/workout and her journaling class is what sparked this joy of writing in me that I now do daily. That class had people from all parts of the world there, coming together and sharing unique perspectives while also pointing out just how connected we all actually are. Location wise: you're right in the heart of town, so close to all the other food spots, grocery stores and only one block from the beach. While working remotely, I'd jump in the ocean during my lunch hour and easily run errands on my breaks. The night life of Jaco is always energized so even if you're not the going-out type, you can walk around and have dinner somewhere outside or up on the deck of Jaco bar and just take it all in. Jaco Inn is tucked away off the main road and gated in the evening so if you prefer to stay in, it can serve as a little haven. It's far enough back to quiet all the noise of downtown at night. I am a pretty light sleeper and I very much enjoyed my stay. I opted for a single room in the hanger suite so I had my own bathroom - that was clutch because I am used to that at home. During the day, I spent most/all my time out exploring, working from the cafe or hanging out in the common living area so I didn't mind much that the room was a little warm from the sun. Besides, I would say if you're sitting in your room all day, in a beautiful vibrant place like Jaco.. you're missing out on the joy of this place. Definitley go see sunset. Everyday. The evenings cooled off so I was very comfortable sleeping with the screened-in windows open and fan going. The kitchen was well equiped for cooking and they had a sufficeint amount of space in the fridge for each guest. Yes you have to share space with other people from time to time but thats the beauty of traveling and out of all the hostels and hotels I stayed at, both in CR and in the US, this was the only one where I felt like there was a genuine community feel. If you prefer to keep to yourself, thats ok too. There were plenty of guests that enjoyed their alone time and the whole Inn would respect their space. Jaco itself is exactly what you make of it. If you arrive here with an open heart, good intentions and a desire to just be present, pretty quickly you'll find yourself surrounded by a community of people, overjoyed to have you and you too will be asking yourself, 'how did I get so lucky?' All the best to everyone over there at Jaco Inn, Bohio Cafe and their neighbors. Meeting you all was one of the greatest privileges of my life. Pura Vida <3

The best place to stay in Jaco by far! Will most definitely be back. There is an awesome fitness studio which holds BJJ classes, yoga etc. and the best cafe in Jaco out the front as well! Juan the manager is one of the coolest people I’ve met. I I love Jaco Inn!
