I've been waiting to try Jacob's Pickles for a while now, even before they opened this location outside the city. Parking was easy at The SoNo Collection, and when I entered, I was warmly greeted by the hostess, who was incredibly sweet and helpful. She even showed me how to take advantage of their 3-hour parking validation, which was a nice perk. The restaurant had an upscale and elegant feel, though it was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night.
Christian Juarez J, my server, was fantastic--friendly, fun, and helpful as he guided me through the menu since it was my first time there. I went with the Mac and cheese and the patty melt smash burger, and I was not disappointed! The portions were huge, and the food came out quickly, hot, and delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, the sauce was flavorful, and the waffle fries were crispy. The Mac and cheese was cheesy, hearty, and super filling--definitely a highlight.
My friends arrived a bit later, and the staff had no problem accommodating the extra people. We also ordered a few drinks:
- Mocha Martini
- Kentucky Porch Sipper (my favorite--definitely getting this next time!)
- Brooklyn Gin
- Norwalk On The Wild Side (another great one)
- Jam Jar
- Rosemary Vodka Lemonade
- Lemon Blueberry Whiskey Smash
Everything was amazing, and totally worth the cost. The experience was so great that we're already planning to come back for brunch. A few dishes I can't wait to try are the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, Chicken Bacon Ranch Waffle Fries, and Catfish and Grits.
I will absolutely be back with my friends--highly recommend Jacob's Pickles!
