I've never seen a park like this in any other city... It's super biker and walker friendly but at the same time it keeps the wildness and originality of what a forest should be. As for deer watching, just note that they are still afraid of people, don't know if it is because of biological reasons, so don't expect to walk close and become their best friends :)

Scenic walking routes with a bunch of deer. This was the first time I’ve seen white and black deer. Was very cool to see such a big herd of them. Got a bit hot because there’s not much tree cover

Deer Park (Jægersborg Dyrehave) is a beautiful and peaceful place just outside Copenhagen. With big old trees, open fields, and deer walking freely, it feels like a quiet escape from the city. The small royal hunting palace on the hill adds charm to the landscape. Whether you're walking, biking, or just relaxing, the park’s natural beauty makes it a perfect spot to enjoy fresh air and calm surroundings.

Lovely, sprawling park with trails for walking and biking, just a fifteen minute train ride from Copenhagen! Because the park is very large, it doesn't feel crowded, even in beautiful summer weather. We walked for quite a long time before we came across the deer, in the woods - they were beautiful, and came in lots of different colours! I recommend having a picnic on the benches by the royal lodge (not open when we went), with an ocean view. You can also visit Bakken theme park and go to the beach by the station, making a perfect day trip from the city. What a beautiful place!

Jægersborg Dyrehave is a protected nature preserve just north of Copenhagen, known for its beautiful landscapes and rich history. Spanning over 1000 hectares, it features ancient oak forests, open meadows, lakes, and a free-roaming population of around 2000 red, fallow, and roe deer 🌿

Yelp
When I think of Dyrehaven, the thing that comes to mind is all the times I enjoyed walking through here as a child with my family. Usually on a day where we had also been to Bakken we would take a stroll through Dyrehaven with either a picnic or to see if we could catch a glimpse of some deer. Now as an adult I still love Dyrehaven just as much! I generally come here just for the sake of enjoying Dyrehaven and not after a day of being at Bakken. Dyrehaven is such a beautiful place and it's perfect for a relaxing walk, going for a run, bike ride or a picnic. It's a big place to explore with many different paths to take that it's always really enjoyable! Plus, It's always such a thrill when you see deer in the distance. Beautiful!

Yelp
Great for a nice afternoon stroll, this nature preserve (deer park) has thousands of deer roaming the grounds. Nearby old oak forest as well. There's also a beautiful old hunting lodge with views to the ocean.

Yelp
Im sad to have only had enough time to get through a small part of the deer forest. No fallow or red deer spotting and I also missed the Eremitage Palace. However spending a few hours at a cottage eating dinner into the wee hours was reward enough. Walking through the forest in pitch black out to town is also quite an experience. A extremely beautiful preserve of forest if you plan on visiting Klampenborg
