Cheap, great location, very helpful and friendly workers. Do not expect luxury, it is very very basic, but correct and clean. Photos on booking corespond with reality. I could recommend it for people familiar with cheap hostels. I had shared room, there are also separate rooms. It was quite and quite cold, no windows. Have your towel etc.

I stayed for 10 nights but it wasn't because of value for money far from it. |🙂 Location - hard to beat |🙂 Mostly friendly and helpful (except with medication - see below)|🙂 Common areas are nice for sitting in |☹️ Kitchen only had a microwave so hard to self cater especially for 10days|☹️ Nowhere to wash clothes|☹️ The bathroom - see photos. I stayed in a single room (which was average at best) but the bathroom was something else...see photos. Toilet seat held up with sticky tape, mould and could barely sit on the toilet without hitting my knees and I'm short. |The water sprays everywhere and out the door, which doesn't close properly, into the bedroom|☹️ If you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you.|☹️ Even though the facilities say AC, you are charged if you leave it on. I was castigated for this - nowhere else do you have to turn it off and I have vital medication that has at be stored at no greater than 25° but no-one cared and was forced to leave it in the kitchen fridge on the next level up even though I have to take it first thing in the morning.

Lovely cosy hostel in the heart of the old city and with easy access to all the main sights! The rooms are beautiful with stone walls and ceilings. The staff are kind, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are great value for money and are cleaned daily. there is also a roof terrace with beautiful views over the city. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Great location and the owners are so lovely and helpful. Lots of common areas including a rooftop with a great view. Wifi only works in the reception area. The dorm I stayed in didn't have a window, which made it very dark and stuffy. The bathroom is in the room as well but the walls don't go all the way to the roof, so if someone goes to the toilet in the middle of the night, it wakes everyone up.

It is a really nice hostel with helpful staff They are friendly and nice to help all the stuff and questions , which help a lot And the room for dorm is in traditional stone , it is so cool ( a bit cold at night ) And good to go up to the rooftop to see the night view of Jerusalem , it is really beautiful and amazing ! All the best to the Jaffa Gate hostel ! And it is in a convenient location !

A nice little hostel close to everything and at an affordable cost! This is not a hostel for partying and it has a no alcohol policy. This is a hostel for sleeping. Extremely quiet and great staff. If you need a shuttle to the airport they will arrange it for you. If you need a haircut or a great hummus, they will recommend the best places. However, don't expect a five star accomodation - you get a bed, a bathroom and a basic kitchen which is exactly what I want when travelling.||||I stayed in a four bed room with an ensuite bathroom and got exactly what I expected. I'd recommend this place for anyone on a tight budget wanting a place to crash.

The problem with this hotel it takes advantage of young people on a limited budget due to its location. I stayed there 30 years ago and it had bugs and I visited last month, still filthy, why do people stay there when there are far nicer hostels around. I keep hearing the word basic in reviews but there is a level a paying guest should stoop to to be near centre.

I don't like to write a bad review, especially as the staff were lovely and very helpful. However, the reviews on the various booking sites are not accurate. Our room was very cold as there was no heating and the walls had holes in them. The bathroom was covered in mold and the toilet smelt. The shared kitchen was completely filthy with rotten cupboards. I know this place is cheap, but it really needs renovating. Annoyingly the staff 'cancelled' my booking on Hostelworld so I couldn't review it on there - which is maybe why they have a good score on booking sites. On the bright side, its in a great location and a lot cheaper than other places.
