Fabulous independent bookstore. You can browse the latest books while enjoying fresh coffee and homemade cakes. It has a lovely atmosphere and great staff. There is a reading room upstairs where you can make yourself comfortable. Highly recommended.

The perfect place to browse unique books, handmade cards, eat delicious cakes, and enjoy a coffee. This is exactly why small book stores should still exist. Support local businesses like this one. I recommend using their bathroom -- best view in the shop!!

A diddly perfect evening in the prettiest bookshop in town! Well organised with an informal quintessential cosy bookshop vibe. Clarkson took the time to chat with each person who had waited in line for their book to be signed and his bellowing laughter engulfed the entire store, rippled past the Miss Marple bookshelves and like a fanfare could be heard as you entered the door. I must say how refreshing it was to see that Clarkson had chosen a small independent bookshop for his signing! This most beautiful little bookshop with with it's alcoved treasures, fresh baked snuggly glowed interior and friendly yet extrovert staff offered a rather brilliant setting for the loud funny Clarkson farmer- and I loved it!

Ordered two books online and they arrived quickly, really well packaged and in perfect condition. Great customer service, informing me when they would be dispatched.

Beautiful local bookshop also selling coffee and cakes. Wonderful selection of beautiful books. The kids section is fantastic. We haven’t seen anything that we’ll put together with such well chosen and good quality kids books before. Great place to go for a thoughtful gift. I think they can order books in specially too. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff. Small but interesting selection of books. The secondhand books upstairs only amounted to a few bookcases of unsorted general stuff but prices were very cheap - got the impression the used side isn't really their specialism. A nice little cafe at the front of the well laid out shop. What bookshops should be like, really!

The best book shop in The Cotswolds. The staff Polly, Patrick, Dave and the crew are by far the most customer focused and polite bunch I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Coffee is nice and the snacks are top notch. Miss you all - Adam x

Yelp
So good! Spent two days in chipping Norton, and really this café and Chequers we're just about all I enjoyed. The café is full of homemade pastry goods, as well as wonderful varieties of coffee. The staff is exceptionally nice, and there's a wide selection of books to purchase. They also open early which is nice, I believe 8 AM. Prices are reasonable, unlike a majority of the rest of the town where they seem to be oddly inflated--even more expensive than London which was puzzling. Again, this café is an exception to the norm with good quality food and drinks, hey very sweet staff, and fair prices.

Yelp
Fantastic cosy bookshop and cafe overlooking Chipping Norton's market square. Well-chosen selection of books that a pleasure to browse, with many signed editions from well-known writers who live locally. Really helpful staff. And superb homemade cakes!
