The hotel is beautiful and the staff for the most part were very nice and helpful! The doormen and the bartender at kimmy were very nice and very helpful! The hotel room was beautiful! The bed wasn’t super comfortable but it wasn’t unbearable. The water pressure sucked and the soap/shampoo weren’t great made your skin more dried out then cleaned. It wasn’t super accessible unfortunately… went to a show and there were more steps then sits… the staff weren’t overly helpful when it came to things to help with accessibility and this may be because I didn’t see a way to book accommodation for the show but it was still something that we had to dealt with the night of and unfortunately it was to deal with things beings missed or not enjoyed the way that it was meant to be… I really hope this is something they work on! We will definitely be back it will just mean it will be a little bit more planing on our part unfortunately because this day and age a lot of this could easily fixed on their side!

Beautiful hotel, nothing like it for atmosphere around here in NL, well done. When you first walk in the decor is stunning when you enter and at check in. At check in I was asked for another 100 as a deposit, which caught me off guard. I booked through expedia. However I do work for the government and I could have used a cooperation rate also. I asked about my MC being charged for the room rate yet, she mentioned that the rate I booked for was $169. Their system $139. So I was a bit disappointed at that because thought I got a good rate at expedia. I couldn't get the better rate now. We checked into our room which was okay room 757 the AC was on so the room was quiet cool, considering it was Nov 1st and the weather outside was not the best. It was cool windy and raining. There was lots of towels large washroom and the bed looked comfy, the room was clean but nothing fancy considering the halls and entrance for the Jag is stunningly done. The small fridge didnt work the best, any items placed on the top shelf was warm. We decided to go check out the restaurants. We decided to enjoy food and drinks at Zimmys restaurant, which was okay, prices was somewhat reasonable, drinks expensive, 9.00 for a beer and 9 for a highball drink. Portion sizes for food was small but tasty we ordered 2 orders of wings 23 dollars each, calamari was 20.00 and onion rings 18.00. Wait time for drinks and food was very long, they forgot the onion rings and we had to ask for them to be bought out. We asked for more drinks and it was about 20 mins to get them. We also had to ask the waiter for water. We waited a long time for the bill to be bought out. I actually left my boyfriend there and eventually he had to go to the bar to ask if he could pay the bill, no one come with one first or last. Bill was $125.00 for pub food 2 beer and one drink. We were rushed now to attend Bat Dance. When we got back to the room to settle for the night the Electrical cabinet in the room was rattling loudly, and we didnt get to sleep the best, I even tried adjusting the door throughout the night so it didnt rattle but it continued all night. Which I did mention on checking out. The bed and pillows comfy. Check out was good and reasonable Over all not 4.5 star experience. Hotel look and decor 4.5 Staff 3 star Food and drinks 3 star

Overall it's a great experience. Very luxurious for the price. Everything was clean and well taken care of. If your not going to take advantage of the Valet parking finding a parking spot would be the only major issue I could foresee. It is a bit of a maze to get around but there is something to admire around every corner.

The Jag is such a beautiful and is a destination in itself! The rooms are luxurious and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurants are excellent. The breakfast is delicious. The pool and spa area is beautiful. Tge Jag is well located and is walkable to many shops and restaurants. You can’t go wrong with a stay at The Jag.

We absolutely love love love this very cool well thought out hotel with soo many many extras. Maxx was our porterage and was an absolutely awesome guy. Very knowledgeable and super friendly and even reccomended some great things to do within the city and hotel. We went out for supper and spent the rest of the evening enjoying live music at Zimmys ... 5 stars all the way. We would highly reccomend this hotel to all our friends and family. This is by far the most beautiful hotel in Newfoundland and one of the most beautiful we have ever stayed at. ❤️

Came from England to visit family in Newfoundland and stayed at the JAG hotel for 7 nights. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more! My partner and I had an amazing experience. We stayed in the new building (blues) and the queen room was very spacious. The interior and finishes in the room were amazing. The bathroom was also very modern and clean. The shower had a rainfall shower head as well as a standard one. The vibe of the hotel overall made our experience even better. We really enjoyed the pool and all facilities. Although it is a music hotel we never heard anything in our room, the rooms seem to be very soundproof! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location was also a plus. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel with a great music vibe. The staff were really wonderful, the room was nice and the included breakfast was a nice surprise! We stayed 4 nights. We had an accessible room which was nice except for the extremely slippery shower. Fortunately the next place we stayed had a good shower I could use since I only braved the 'skating rink' once. The only other fault was no room service the last 2 days (towels, garbage, bed making) and giving nice chocolate the first 2 nights then dreadful candy the last 2 nights at turndown. I'm not sure why they do this when you pay the same price each night but the staff said it's the way it is. Next time I would only stay 2 nights instead of 4.

It’s a fun place to stay! The music theme is everywhere and the decor is over the top. Every staff member I encountered was polite and engaging. The basic 2 q room is spacious and well equipped. I dined in Exile, a luxurious & comfy space. Tried the moose stew which was flavourful and generous, with a flaky biscuit. If you’re not a big music fan ( generations of rock & roll) the music might be too much but I loved it. The lay out is unique but they offer a site map and lots of signage. The pricing is EXCELLENT! Short walk to the fun Water Street stroll. And chocolate on the pillow? Heck no - a full Newfoundland chocolate bar!

Yelp
Stayed at JAG hotel for a conference this past week. The rooms were spacious and the staff was helpful. Also had a drink and onion rings at the Exile (hotel bar) which was good.

Yelp
Been a lotta years since I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas, but they do the rock theme here every bit as well as HR did. Decor in the rooms, hallways, and open areas is on point. Music throughout the hotel is perfect. Exile bar is beautifully executed and the bartenders are just what you want--attentive without being disruptive. Walking distance access to all the bars, music, and restaurants on George Street is icing on the cake.

Yelp
I had never heard of this hotel, they seems to be in a chain that belongs to Canada so it is a somewhat small enterprise here for them, however they have some big ways to make themselves memorable. this is a classic rock inspired hotel, the classics are playing here in the lobby 24 hours a day, the lobby is nice and simple with plenty musical figures all over the walls. Checking in we were so pleased with the staff! they were friendly and very helpful, the hotel is so immersed into its back story that you get a drink ticket with your check in, just like you probably could get a drink ticket at a concert! such an amazing little touch, but the amazing touches do not stop there. The rooms are pretty nice, the bed is AMAZING! the mattress they have in that bed had me not wanting to go out. so good! they also have ropes for convenience inside the room. The shower had a rain shower style, just such a great shower head! and the little toiletries as far as shampoo and such, they smelled so good I almost wanted to eat them. I could definitely tell that they put a lot of thought on every detail in that room. The view from the room was not super great, perhaps cause I was on the second floor. they also had an amazing little touch, every day during the afternoons the staff would leave us a box of gourmet chocolates on our beds! the chocolates were so good and we really appreciated it! this was an amazing experience as far as I am aware. if I had to point one negative, to me the breakfast was the only thing I would make a little better, there is no self service breakfast here, it is all a la carte and that style for the traveling folk can delay a lot a tourist as now you have to wait for your food instead of having a quick bite from a buffet. Also I a couple of times found some molding food on the bread baskets and that can be a bit of a sanitary issue. overall the hotels is pretty amazing with lots of character and a deep sense of hospitality. the breakfast part of it needs some work. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I actually found this hotel on Trip Advisor not yelp. This is a really nice boutique type hotel. The beds are super, super comfortable. Both my GF and I remarked how comfortable the beds were! The rooms are very well appointed. Nice bathroom, rain shower etc... Flat-screen TV... you get it. The theme is rock and roll.... OBVI.... So, in the elevator, lobby, bar/restaurant you've got really good tunes pumpin'. Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Lou Reed were some of the repeats... I thought it was just delightful. The location is awesome. You are walking distance to everything, but on the outskirts of the action so it's quiet, and there is plenty of free parking on the street (we had a rental car). All of the Staff here. Extremely, extremely friendly and helpful. Any type of recommendation you need. Directions. Shopping. Sight-seeing. All spot on. Also, they have an awesome bar/restaurant. We ate here multiple times. Their breakfast is phenomenal. I loved the fish cakes. The moose sausage (a seasonal special), cod fish tacos... yeaaaahhh, yeah. you like that. I like that. I would stay here again, and highly recommend it.

Yelp
I love this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are full of light and have clean, modern decor, and the shower - LOVE that rainforest shower with the iceberg water amenities. Re: another yelper's remarks about noise: we stayed on the side away from the harbor, so can't attest to the noise on that side of the hotel. On our side, nothing woke us up except our alarms. It was extremely quiet. There's a restaurant (Exile), and a small gym room, and valet parking. I love the fresh, creative flowers in the lobby, and the interesting photos scattered throughout the hotel - JAG loves musicians! This is a playful, interesting, intelligent hotel. We were so happy with our stay here in August 2015.

Yelp
Absolutely DO NOT stay at this hotel! We got a suite however the staff neglected to mentioned that at 3:30am the shipyard which is 50 feet away is ACTIVE ! The staff was super friendly and tried to move us but they had no other rooms...this was a disaster for our business which was to perform a concert. The noise is CONSTANT! As a responsible Yelper not just bitching here-Do not risk staying at this hotel if you plan to sleep.

Yelp
The aesthetic of this hotel is rock and roll done tastefully, you will find yourself captivated by the many music prints lining the walls of the halls and rooms. The staff are so helpful and welcoming a highlight of a recent stay at the Jag was a few hours in the Jag van touring the city with our Newfoundland driver discussing the sights and bantering as locals are famous for. The hotel even provides fabulous large umbrellas a necessity for the changing climate of the city. The beds are dreamy and at night the staff open the corner of your bed and leave chocolate on the nightstand making the amazing beds even more inviting.

Yelp
The Jag Hotel is one of the worst hotels I have ever been in. I booked for three nights but left within three hours. Room was a disgrace. Manager admitted to my friend that the pictures on their website were taken when the hotel first opened - in 2003...Almost two decades ago! - and have never been updated. Room was tired and jaded; dingy. Pillows looked as though they had been chewed by a Rotweiller, spit out, and then put into a pillow case. Upon check in the lone receptionist was so busy answering the phone that she barely had time to attend to the guests, while other employees behind the desk stood around doing absolutely nothing. The decor might appeal to some people but frankly looking at photos of a haggard Mick Jag everywhere puts me off my food! And why would anyone have a Rolling Stones themed hotel in St. John's Newfoundland???? Do not stay in this hotel! It is dreadful, sad and feels and looks grungy. I moved to the Alt Hotel just down the street and had fantastic service with a room that truley has a view to die for. TCS

Yelp
Nice clean and spacious rooms. Nice beds and two tvs in room. Didn't care for their restaurant menu - avoid the cod tongue!

Yelp
Excellent hotel! Staff was very friendly and service-minded. I was there on business and had trouble with the wireless (because of security settings on my laptop), needed to have things printed/scanned etc. It was all promptly taken care of by the receptionist. Nice and newly decorated room, nice big bathroom, nice big shower, big and comfortable bed. The food is good, there is a nice down-to-earth atmosphere at the hotel. It's located centrally in St. John's. All in all a very good experience!

Yelp
We had an excellent four nights! No noise. Dining was good. Cheaper than "The Keg" and no hour wait to be seated. The chocolates at night were simple, but appreciated. Staff was great. We stayed there August 12th time period. Thank You All. Joe and Jan
