As many others have stated, the building itself is beautiful and situated right on the lake with gorgeous views. Go for a drink perhaps. I would certainly not stay there again though. It’s not a well run hotel, certainly not luxury, the food was average (skip the breakfast, if you eat dinner go to the very top terrace). They could not accommodate gluten free despite both my travel agent and me checking in advance of the trip. Our room #1 was small but beautiful, overlooking the lake, but the noise from the music performance in the “lobby” just outside the door didn’t stop until 10pm, as did the loud thumping vibrating music from across the water on the weekend. It’s at the end of a long narrow road in old town. We got to town at 8pm and transferred from a car to a tuk tuk that careened down the dark winding roads at breakneck speed - it was amazing no one was hit- really a wild ride. Warning— this is not the hotel if stairs are a problem or someone is unsteady on their feet. Even the room had several levels of stairs and marble thresholds - it is an accident waiting to happen. I would suggest not staying in the old town.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Lake view rooms are to die for! Early morning and sunsets are wonderful rather every corner of the hotel is photogenic. The roof top restaurant sunset view is amazing. Food is decent can be better. Staff is very friendly help you arrange tours, give you insights around the place plus they even gave us room upgrade !! Overall good place to stay in terms of location accessibility cleanliness.

Excellent location with soothing interior...we only had a lunch there which tastes great. Servicing is little slow but gentle well you dont complain about it. They have 2 types of seating arrangement indoor and rooftop. If you are visiting the olace at evening rooftop is highly recommanded. Overall all the hype about this is for the view of lake and at some level its worth to visit .

Note: My experience visiting the restaurant thrice in the last 3 years. The restaurant doesn’t pick up the call for reservations. If they pick up, they don’t take reservations saying that there’s no availability. They don’t give you a table upon reaching directly either. They always say it’s completely booked but if you stay there late till dinner, you’ll notice that half/more than half of the tables are empty and unoccupied. Rude staff, negligent behaviour. The rooftop was almost empty when we left yet we were denied to sit at one of the tables before. If you have the patience and mental capacity to argue & convince the manager, you can go and try your luck. I was also told that we’ll be asked to leave our table if other guests arrive. A No for me. Not worth the headache and disappointment. The owners seriously need to pay attention towards hospitality, staff, & food. It’s a beautiful property & has great views but not a good experience.

Went for dinner on a Sunday with only a few hours notice. The service initially a little a little scattered eventually became an extremely pleasant experience. We requested a lake facing table and despite the tables being full, the manager accommodated us with a spectacular table. The mutton laal mass was super, definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a food spot with great food and ambience

The location of the restaurant is fabulous and mesmerising. The candle light dinner is great way to get the best view of the lake but the food served was not up to the mark. It wasn’t delicious moreover the quantity served per the price is not worth. The charges are too high like a star! The staff was not paying much attention because when we reorder the indian bread (chapatis) they served us after 20-25 minutes which then turned the hot meal into the cold one. That we dis not like eating afterwards. When we reached we were too excited for dinner but the service ruined whole mood and when leaving the place it was like we just came there to waste the money.

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, the service was appallingly poor. The staff seemed overwhelmed due to overcrowding, which led to rude and unprofessional behavior. To make matters worse, no glasses were provided at our table — when we asked for water, they simply placed a bottle and expected us to drink directly from it. The food was average at best, far from the quality one would expect from a so-called renowned establishment. It’s clear that they are more focused on profiting from the view rather than delivering good service or quality food. If you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience, I’d strongly recommend UPRE instead — much better service, food, and value. Avoid this place if you care about your overall experience.

This is an excellent heritage hotel in an excellent location. ||Every room is unique with character. ||The hotel is full of character and has excellent views to Lake Pichola. ||The staff are friendly and always make you feel at home.||The restaurant serves very good food although the portions can be small and the service can be slow (I spoke to the manager and hopefully this is one aspect that they will improve on)
