Enjoyed my time here! We had a group of 4 and had a smaller room. They charge a lower rate if paying cash and a higher rate if any other payment method so definitely remember to bring cash. They also charge by the minute (like 10/15/30 minutes) so if you are there for 2 hrs and 10 minutes, you won't be charged for 3 hours. I reserved a room the day of, and the man/owner was very accommodating. When I arrived late, he greeted me very well. Only thing to note is that he starts the time when we check in even though the time to set up the mics/etc was 10 minutes. The TVs have Chromecast so you can cast YouTube karaoke songs to the TV. This is great if you have songs in mind- so definitely have some songs prepared before coming. I didn't check out the catalog they had. The walls are not soundproof so we were able to hear other people sing when our songs weren't playing. This isn't really a negative since when we're playing our songs, we can only hear ourselves. The rate here isn't terrible and its location is great for Berkeley students!

Clutch Karoake joint with a friendly old man. Charges by the fraction of hours so no need to worry about going over time. I didn't know this because the norm in other countries are usually by the hour. Good selection of English songs. Nothing fantastically new of course but satisfied this bunch of millennials just fine.

I really like singing. It was one of my hobbies to express myself. They have all the songs I could listen to. I would recommend this place to anyone would love to sing to any song. I notice that for one person it would be $17 per hour if you pay in cash However; for two people; it would be $40 per hour if you pay in cash.

Great place to go with friends and let lose. They are really chill and have great rooms with large selection of songs to choose from. They also let you byob.

We reserved a room here before explicitly stating 10pm-2am(4 hours) a day before and these people kicked us out 2 hours into the reservation saying we only reserved 2 hours. It's kind of ridiculous to not honor the reservation we called in for and the guy in the front desk had the audacity to say "we usually ask the guests how long they want to stay for" and not honor it... obviously not seems like its all lip service. Just be careful when booking at this place since it seems like they don't honor your reservations. I usually am not one to write reviews but this one for sure left me heated. Imagine singing and having fun and all the sudden just getting kicked out mid song just because they don't want to honor your reservation because they have more people booked for the night... they overbook in this location so just be wary when you book here. I know my one review may not have much of an impact, but I hope it would be useful for others.I love to karaoke and there's definitely better places in the bay area if you are looking for a place to sing your soul out with your friends.

This place is a solid 4 stars. It’s a little rundown and the song book is dated. That said, the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic and clean. You can connect your smartphone to the TV and play anything from YouTube. It’s affordable. Super fun! I’ll absolutely be coming back! I love that you can bring your own food and beverages.

Great spot for karaoke in Oakland! My friends and I went for karaoke Friday night at 6:30. We called ahead and reserved a couple days beforehand just to be safe. They use a Korean system here, so you can look up songs either on the screen or via the book. I briefly flipped through the book and saw songs available in a number of languages such as English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, etc. However, their system is also hooked up to Youtube, so if you ask them, they can switch the input and you're set! Just connect to the wifi and you can cast directly to the TV. This is what we did since we found it easier to look up songs directly on Youtube instead of flipping through the book. The interesting thing is that they charge per person instead of per room. Also, they have a cash price and a credit card price, so if possible bring cash for the cheaper rate. When I went in Feb 2025, the rates were as follows: 1 person: $17/hour cash, $20/hour credit 2-4 people: $35/hour cash, $40/hour credit 5-8 people: $45/hour cash, $50/hour credit 9+ people: $6/persons/hour cash, $7/person/hour credit

The staff member at the front was really nice and helpful. The pricing is relatively reasonably considering that this is one of the only options in this area. However, the rooms have no ventilation whatsoever and the AC wasn't really working, so it was extremely hot in there the whole time. The machine is super old and a pain to navigate, so you end up switching to YouTube as your best bet. At that point, you're just paying for a space and some low grade microphone, so plan accordingly. It was fun though and there's plenty of good Korean food nearby - so might be down to come back when it's not too hot.

Extremely helpful staff and easy booking experience once you figure out the process. Having the ability to access YouTube was the key for us, since we found the native song choices to be limited. Very clean space and we enjoyed it.

Loved that you could bring your own food/drink! The atmosphere was clean, definitely could be upgraded a little bit but it worked. Lots of songs to choose from and a lot of them are recent. Each room had little disco lights and a fan.

Very fun, the owner was sweet. Rooms are due for an upgrade. But who cares when you're having fun!! Prices weren't too bad if you're splitting with a group. Definitely go!! You can bring your own food alcohol and beverages!! You must clean up or there will be a fee.

It was a great experience! I loved the lights and the set-up for the place! Although the system had some getting used to, it was pretty easy to navigate and they had some great song choices. I really loved how it was BYOB and the space felt really intimate. Would recommend to come here!

I would go back just for the hospitality of the owner! He is very attentive, providing water, napkins, song selection help, while also giving the privacy to belt out songs. Right off of Macarthur station and close to many food gems, Jaguar Karaoke is perfect for a fun night out. We came here after eating at Homeroom, and reserved an hour the day before. An hour was not enough, as the song selection was vast and filled with old music from every genre. There is also new music you can play by connecting to Youtube, we didn't figure that out till the end. Next time we will be back, and we'll be sure to reserve 2 hours of music. Try to bring cash, it's a bit cheaper. It's BYOD. There is a parking lot.

Poppin' in room 8. Guy at the front was patient and friendly to have accommodated for a group party. They have a good selection of snacks and clean amenities. The experience was great and would come back!

Sad experience tonight. He didn't even give instructions or anything, just gave me the remote and mics. For 5 min we tried to figure it out and then asked for help. He said he would come, he came 2 minutes and then helped us. *The website said they had a Google cast thing to help with updated songs but it wasn't available. So there was only song list is up to 2017 but still scarce. *Overcharged, we started at 8pm and he charged me $50 bc it was 9:08pm. And then he said bc you guys are 15 minutes later it was 9:08pm & there was no post saying we will be charged 1 dollar per late minute! He should have explained it beforehand. Challenging bc he didn't speak much english though he was really nice. I just felt played bc I couldn't explain my complaint. Just leave on time and have him explain how to use the machine.

I have been here twice, and I like this place. My companion complained that the music selection was limited, but I didn't find it any different than most karaoke places. The gentleman who was working that evening was kind and patient when asked a bunch of questions. I thought the guy was sweet, courteous, hardworking, and polite! The pages of the karaoke music book are sticky, so you might want to bring disinfectant wipes/hand spray. Parking is limited, and a security guard told us to leave the back windows of my car halfway down so potential thieves can see that there is nothing to steal/ have less of an incentive to break the car windows. A necessary evil. I followed his advice, and the car was still intact when we came out after a night of singing.

Long overdue review: Jaguar has been my goto karaoke since I was in my 20s. I still enjoy coming here in my 40s. This is why I wanted to leave a review. First, I love coming here because the owner is always so sweet. He is so accommodating even when I bring a big group of friends. They serve light snacks that you can purchase, and it's all my favorite korean food/snacks. I usually make reservations ahead, but there have been times I just walked in, and it wasn't a long wait. Parking is in front.

Had an amazing night after graduation here, great spot for karaoke with friends!!! They also have my favorite peach soju which made everything more fun lol

I think I came a few times during my last year of college. Usually a pleasant experience with nice staff. Clean place, not run down or dirty. It's the only karaoke place I frequented with friends, outside of Korea and New York City.

Fun hole-in-the-wall karaoke joint in a Korean plaza. Cool that they allow you to BYOB or food, but they also have a few snacks for sale and non-alch beverages. Song list was good, and rooms were charming/cozy.

my friends and i were followed by a belligerent man into the building, the workers were more than helpful and completely made us feel safe. they walked us to a room, and they made sure the man was removed from the building before we left. i would give this business a 10/10 if i could because of how amazing the man at the front desk was at de escalating the situation.

The TV was very small and the price just doesn't justify the quality. The selection of music was a bit out dated in my room. The service is decent but it feels like they are ready to charge you for as much as they can.

Be careful booking here, we literally reserved a day before and they kicked us out 2 hours before the full time we reserved ... like midway with our songs, no other comment except to try other places in the area, the person in the front desk also looked like he didn't really care since they had a full overbooked night. I'm usually not one to write reviews unless the place is really good or is really bad but this one for sure got me heated. I love to karaoke and jaguar was my go to when they had a location in concord, this place does not hold the same standards. I would suggest looking up other places in the bay area for karaoke as this place will not honor your reservation and keep you on your toes, as long as they have fully booked nights. I know one review may not make much impact, but I hope people find this review useful.

Always a good time at Jaguar. The hospitality from the owners is always so sweet. Really love the ease of booking a reservation, and sometimes they have availability for walk-ins depending on the night. Good sound system, equipment, and song selection is decent. Support local businesses!!!! And sing your heart out here.

Go to spot dude in front is hella chill. Gets busy though on weekends so call early for reservation.

Clean rooms, Asian snacks galore and a decent song selection. BUT they need to get some more New Edition and/or my man Bobby Brown up in there. Ain't no karaoke party complete without a "Mr. Telephone Man" doo-wop. Sorry I left my Yan-yans in the room. Hope you guys found it before the ants did.

Went with a larger group which is the best way to do it. Had a great time, and loved the BYOB aspect. Hung out for 3hrs. Will be back!

Went here for late night girls night and the staff member was kind enough to stay open for half an hour longer so we could finish our song list. I am so thankful for his kindness because we really needed a night out to just have fun and sing our hearts out.

My friend and I decided to karaoke while we were in the bay for a short visit, and might I mention this was a great choice! Yes, the plaza seems a bit shady...BUT, it has all the essentials - a ventilated room (with an added bonus of a fan!), mics, a decent speaker system, and solid music selections. Bonus bonus, the owners/staff were friendly and kind.

I think my only really concern about this place is that their song selection list is pretty outdated. They have a lot of the classics but lack a lot of music after 2012. I do love that they let you bring your own drinks and food though! (Alcohol included)

Really fun karaoke place! They have a really good list for song selection and the facility is clean. I love the disco lights in the room. They have soju and beer or you can byob too!

I'll tell you as much as I can remember about my experience about karaoke. The first thing - the private rooms are awesome. I HATE doing karaoke in front of strangers. There's nothing like making a fool of yourself with your friends. We crammed about 15 people in a tiny ass room. You're not "allowed" to have alcohol and they will patrol to enforce this, but where there's a will there's a way. The machinery cracks me up. I just remember Coolio's Gangster's paradise playing with country scenery (sheep and farms) in the background. I totally recommend this place. Grab a bunch of your closest friends, pre-party at a local bar and head to Jaguar. You'll have a blast. If you don't - your friends are lame.

Super fun. Great service. Very easy to book a room ahead of time - which you 100% need to do, because they take reservations and honor them. Would recommend.

Rooms are clean and the guy at the front is really helpful. They do not serve hot food but some snacks and sodas are available for a reasonable price. They have a large music selection and you can connect to youtube so you are guaranteed to have your song. You can call ahead to reserve a space. The rooms are clean and have a lot of room, and you can bring in your own hot food (plenty of establishments near by for food!) I would recommend this place but if you need liquid courage you will need to pregame beforehand and/or bring a flask :).

This is really the best hangout spot for friends or a date! The owner is unbelievably kind and patient, nice selection of snacks and drinks, and the karaoke options are endless! The rooms are nice and clean too. This place has been around for a long time for a reason. You'll be glad you chose this spot.

Very racist when it comes to black customers! It's open until 2am, when me and a couple of friends (we all weren't black) tried to get in the owner denied us at the front door! It was at least 11:30 pm. So from that experience, this was poor customer service at its finest! Why are you in the heart of the bay, where there is a diverse ethnic background majority blacks and this is how you act towards people just trying to give you business?! Don't recommend visiting this joint ever again! It's pitiful in 2022. Would've gave it a zero star rating

It gets the job done when you have the itch to sing the night away! They do serve soju, which is a plus. They don't have that many new songs though, but they have all your 90's and 00's hits. Wasn't too expensive for 2 hours!

The service, snacks, karaoke system is on point! We came in a during a very busy time. You can call prior to your arrival and stay on the list in advanced to prevent long waits. The rooms are clean, a nice surrounding system with the audio.

It was funny that how all the karaoke machines do not have the latest version, and only few of them were updated. The room we got had a really old version, it wasn't updated since 09/2017. The funny thing was that they didn't inform us about until I asked them. The employee was really kind though, he changed the room for us later when the other latest version of machines were available. It could have been nicer if he informed us before we walked into the room

Large music selection, They have YouTube connectivity so you can bring your phone and play karaoke versions of songs off YouTube that you can make a playlist for beforehand. They have multiple languages, but I don't know how big their selections are for every language, however their Korean selection is fairly large. the service is friendly and welcoming. sometimes people get too rowdy and make a mess, but the employees always handle it with patients and class. I rarely if ever encounter feedback in the rooms, and they are large enough, some other karaoke places might advertize a room is big enough for 4, but actually it barely fits 3. this place is not like that, it is comfortable size here. The parking is tough sometimes because it is a shared lot with a lot of other businesses, but usually you can find a spot either inside or nearby because there is residential areas nearby. Pricing is fair, better than some other karaoke's in the bay area.

This place is so fun! The people that work here are amazing! They're service is super fast and they're super understanding and Patient. The machines are super ready to use! Definitely come here for a fun night!

I wish East Bay had more private room karaoke options. This is getting 4 stars mostly due to convenience, and the general BYOB policy (they are definitely not going to check your bags and they don't really offer booze). That said, song selection isn't the greatest and the backing music can be ridiculous. It basically sounds like my 7 year old nephew playing a keyboard while blindfolded.
