This place is absolutely stunning and full of amazing history. The owner is an incredible storyteller and weaves the background of the lodging into a beautifully immersive and interactive tour. If you're looking for a boring resort style experience with all the modern amenities, go find a Hyatt. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime experience in a very old (with all the quirks and craziness) and very possibly haunted place to lodge, this is it. Homemade delicious breakfast brought to you. Comfy beds, and beautiful rooms. Five stars all the way around.

We made a reservation for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. When we checked in, we couldn't find a safe parking spot. We had to park down an alley on a back street. We stayed in the Victorian room. As soon as we walked into the room we were hit by the smell... and it was MOLD. The carpet was so, SO dirty and the upholstery on all the furniture was worn smooth and looked like something put out on the street with a "take me I am free" sign on it. The paint and wallpaper was terribly worn and dirty. Next we noticed that the bathroom did NOT have a door...awkward. Then we noticed that the room did not have a thermostat...if we were hot, or cold...that was just our tough luck. We spent a miserable night waiting for daylight to break. We got up and gathered our things and checked out. We paid $497.02 for 2 nights and I asked the desk clerk about a refund for the second night. (I was polite and didn't complain about the room). She advised that only Paul could give a refund and she would let him know. Paul never responded. I found 3 different email addresses for Paul and I emailed all 3...Paul never responded. This place is absolutely historically fascinating...but it is NOT a place that you would want to spend the night.

This place is top notch! Our suite was spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast is so delicious and cooked on sight. Paul is an amazing host and makes sure everyone feels comfortable. We will definitely return to the Jailer’s Inn if we have the opportunity.

Excellent location, not the most comfortable. Breakfast at 9:00 so plan accordingly we had booked bourbon tours at that time. Be prepared Victorian suite doesn't have a door on the bathroom just around the corner were earplugs 😆. Jail tour was interesting

We spent 3 nights behind bars in the Nautical suite #9! It was enormous and shared a huge common area with another room. This area of the inn used to be lawyers' offices and the common is first an open parlor, bar space, then what looks to be a decent sized conference room space and library. Great place to read your book, set up a laptop, or play games. The bathroom was so spacious. Plenty of shelving and closet space. This room had it's own fridge and additional sink area which was perfect for our water bottles and any leftovers. The bed was super soft and we just melted into it. Definitely not a firm bed if you like a firmer mattress.||The staff was so amazing and helpful! We ate all the breakfasts outside under a really nice pavilion with a view of the yard (old hanging location -gasp! Eek!) and the back of the actual jail cell.||Paul, Debbie, Elisabeth, and Sylvia out did their selves each day and were helpful with all questions and refills on coffee! Paul gave a great tour of the jail after our first breakfast and captured some great pictures and memories for us at his inn. I didn't hear anything go bump in the night, but no doubt there are some ghosts about! Paul had all the history for us to share and stories of his journey to becoming the innkeeper! Just super personable!||The location is perfect for Bourbon Fest and to enjoy a stay in historic Bardstown. Many cute and charming shops and restaurants all walkable from the inn. We enjoyed Volstead Lounge -so much bourbon! We enjoyed right next door, the Talbott Tavern for food and bourbon and live music at their bar. Mammy's Kitchen and oh my gosh Bardstown Burgers was amazing. Wally's ice cream we went one evening. For about four days in a row we visited -Fresh- coffee and bakery. We also found bourbon balls at Flour and Oak bakery and delicious treats at Hadorn's Bakery. All of these places are walkable from the inn.||Do you love art? The Gallery is right there!! It is a huge gallery full of local artists' work. I spent a lot time in there. So many beautiful things to look at and buy. Getz museum of Bourbon a few blocks away. Much history in Bardstown and not far from distilleries. We checked out the Willet (so close) and Bardstown Bourbon Company. These were on our agenda already, but just ask Paul, he'll tell all the could things to explore that are bourbon or non-bourbon related.||Book in advance! These room likely go fast and get at least 2 nights in. 3 if possible. We also didn't hear a ton of noise either being right on the street area and blocks from the Bourbon Fest. I highly recommend checking out and staying in the Jailer's Inn. ||Another important item -->PARKING -THERE'S PLENTY! Even with a Bourbon Fest! The Inn has a huge area to park behind the Inn or you can park along Talbott Tavern or along the street there are spots. Your door will not be far from your car door for loading and unloading wherever you choose.

What a fun place. How many people can say they spent a night in jail. We rented 4 rooms and the family is still talking about the quaint town and Jailer's Inn. If you are doing the "Bourbon Trail", we recommend staying here. Very nice outdoor space for breakfast which was delicious.

Well I don't write many of these for Hotels, but I must say, the Jailers Inn was exceptional. Just driving through and they happened to have a room. Who wouldn't want to spend the night in a jail? The beds were surprisingly comfy, it's right in the best part of town, and the breakfast was amazing. We ended up spending another night. No spectral entities visited for us, but others say it's haunted. I would absolutely stay here again next time I'm coming through this part of the state. Don't forget to get a tour of the jail!

An incredible stay, you have to experience for yourself if you get the chance! The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was great, and the story was neat! Definitely worth going.

Yelp
We stayed there last Friday and Saturday and loved the place. The owner Paul is a great guy and very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and we even bought some souvenirs.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic, historical location to stay if you're going to spend time in Bardstown, Ky. The Jail Cell was a little smaller than it looked online, but I guess we should have expected that from a JAIL CELL! Being a little more cramped in added to the fun we were looking for by booking it. Overall, the experience was awesome and the staff is amazing! Paul, the owner/host of this location is polite, friendly, beyond accommodating, and informative. Breakfasts, served at 9 am, were delicious. Tours were offered every morning after breakfast was done. The physical location is absolutely perfect for touring around downtown Bardstown as many fantastic museums, shops, restaurants, taverns, and liquor stores (if that's your treat) are well within easy walking distance. We stayed as a family of three and could not have asked for a better experience. Well worth the money. Should we ever travel to Bardstown again, we will 100% be back.

Yelp
Just returned from staying 3 nights at the Jailer's Inn B&B. We were 2 couples and stayed in rooms 8 (The Honey Suite) and 9 (The Nautical Suite). They were beautiful and perfect for us. These rooms are in a connecting building, steps away from the front door of the B&B. You walked into a shared living area that also had a dinning/conference room. Your private area was 2 rooms and a bathroom. We also had a small refrigerator and sink to wash some cups and mugs after coffee, which was also set up for us everyday in our shared living room. The breakfasts were delicious and the innkeeper is quite entertaining. He knows the area well and recommended restaurants for us for lunch/dinner. All were very good.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic from arrival (after 7 pm and they were very kind about my arrival time), my stay, breakfast, and jail tour. Grounds are beautiful, my room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! I stayed in the Victorian room. I was traveling alone so this wasn't an issue for me, but the private bath didn't have a door, so if you prefer more privacy, you may want to look into another room. No spooky experiences for me, but I had the best sleep I've had in ages! Bed is very comfy. Wifi is great and TV had all the channels. The hosts were entertaining & delightful. I hope I have the opportunity to return!

Yelp
Cool place that my family and I visited while we were in barge town had a lot of meat sceneries on the inside outside I would recommend going here for sure it's a cool little experience and they have a lot of throwback and memorabilia looking things from old school days. Bardstown to cool little city check it out

Yelp
Booked 3 rooms for my family who was visiting from South Carolina. They absolutely raved about their stay here! The rooms could be conjoined with sitting rooms for visiting and separate bathrooms. The owners were very accommodating and so kind. Enjoyed the hot breakfast every morning. The location was also perfect walking distance from everywhere in town! It was wonderful!

Yelp
Overall, this is just a great place to stay. The owner, Paul, is super friendly as is the rest of his staff, Lisa and Ashley. Just ask a question about the history and the supposed ghosts of the jail and they happily share their knowledge. All the rooms are beautifully done and very comfortable. Every morning Paul or Lisa provide a delicious breakfast whether it's the specialty of blackberry cream cheese stuffed french toast or the savory sausage potato cheese bake. I would definitely return. And by the way, this is the best location for the historical tours, bourbon tours or just enjoying the area.

Yelp
Wow! My husband and I stayed here two nights while our boys were at Ft. Knox for Advanced Camp. We thought about staying in Louisville until a friend originally from Kentucky urged me to stay in Bardstown. He said in reply to my recommendation for a hotel... who needs a hotel when you can stay at any number of B&Bs? He's right. There are several B&Bs to choose from. BUT if you EVER have an opportunity to stay at Jailer's Inn you will not be disappointed. First, the building, a renovated jailhouse, is 200 years old and full of history. Secondly The ample rooms are decorated nicely and have all the conveniences of home. Our king bed in the Library Room was extremely comfortable. We were Very impressed with the fresh crisp and clean linens. If you stay in the Library Room (or probably any room upstairs) bring your favorite air freshener. There is a slight odor that probably comes with the age of the house. Who knows. That is the ONLY negative I have. ALL the positives outweigh hugely this one and only negative. Thirdly, the innkeepers were so welcoming, accommodating and attentive to us and our every need. Fourthly, the breakfast is superb. Every item was fresh or homemade. Delicious!!! Fifthly, the outside courtyard was beautiful. Plenty of seating in the shade or in the sun. Very nicely maintained and manicured. Finally, the jailhouse itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We went and got our boys and a couple of their cadet friends for family day and brought them to Bardstown for the day. We ate across the street from the Inn at Mammy's. So good. And then came back and let them tour the jail. They loved it! And they also enjoyed a few games of chess in the lobby. Then we gathered outside in the courtyard for dessert and coffee with the guys. What great memories we made there at Jailer's Inn. You will love this place. It's so great! Also, the drive between Bardstown and Fort Knox is spectacular Kentucky countryside. Beautiful.

Yelp
My wife and I had a really fun time staying at the Jailer's Inn. The rooms are lovely (we stayed in the Library Room), with unique decorations and a lot of cool history. We had a delicious breakfast of french toast in bourbon maple syrup and eggs with fresh fruit. We also took the tour of the jail (included!) and our tour guide was funny, energetic, and extremely knowledgeable, both about the history of the jail and everything related to the local area. Also, after checking out, my wife forgot her glasses in the room. The jailer's inn found them, called us to ask if they were ours, and then did us the courtesy of packing them and mailing them to us free of charge so we wouldn't have to drive back. It was a lifesaver, and a truly kind service.

Yelp
Had been trying to book the jail cell room for a while, and found out that it is not rented in the winter months as it is unheated. We reserved the Victorian room. We showed up pretty late, but called ahead and the woman was still there to check us in. We had the run of the place and the pick of the rooms. Even a mini-tour before we picked our room. We chose the first floor room with the Jacuzzi tub (forget the name). It was real nice - most rooms have been recently updated as of January 2016. Comfortable, warm ... and real damned quiet. Note that most nearby places close down by 10 or 11, so we were lucky we brought our own food. Had a picnic in the room and settled in for the night. That's when the noises started. Muffled conversation, footsteps in the hallway ... no one was there! The place was empty. Very odd. The woman asked us what time we wanted breakfast, and it was ready when we were ready after we showered. Paul McCoy, the owner, joined us for breakfast (at our request). Great guy, full of stories of the Jail and the history surrounding it. He took us on a detailed tour of the place and the jail. Cool, different, comfortable, affordable. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This was my husband's and my first stay at a B&B and it did not disappoint! We loved the hospitality, history, and overall experience of this place. Paul was fantastic and is very punny. He was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We stayed in the 1819 room, which was beautiful. It is hard to believe it used to be a dungeon! We will definitely make a return visit!

Yelp
If you're looking for a great experience, this is the place! stayed in the jail cell at the Jailer's Inn and let me tell you, I slept with the lights on all night! There's definitely an atmosphere with that part of the place, but I knew that going in. I was excited to have the experience and I wasn't disappointed.I found Paul, Lisa, and Ashley to be wonderful hosts and storytellers. If you're into history, they can give you some great information. They can also make recommendations for other things to see and do in the area. Breakfast was so yummy with cream cheese-stuffed French toast with strawberries and blueberries, and Bourbon maple syrup, fresh fruit, banana nut muffins still warm from the oven. Wi-fi was a little tricky, but I was able to get connected in the main dining area of the Inn. I will definitely consider staying here again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
This place is completely awesome, and freaky too. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast. When I visited my relatives in Kentucky, we stayed here. The name "Jailers Inn" is exactly what you get, A real jail! At first we thought it was a theme type bed and breakfast where each room had a special theme. Yes, they were themed, but more so than we thought. There's several rooms including a 1819 Room, Garden Room, Colonial Room, (the room I stayed in) and the "Jail cell" room. This room really was a former jail cell, let alone, jail, complete with the original bunk beds that prisoners actually slept in. My brother and his wife stayed in this room, and I swear, she slept maybe a couple hours at most because she was so scared. The door was cast iron and around the corner were the other original jail cells that prisoners were held in. Iron bars were all around, with newspaper clippings of different stories of murderers, rapists, KKK people, etc... In the backyard they did hangings/executions of prisoners who received the death penalty. It's not there anymore but there's actual photographs inside the inn. Freaky! This place was a jail from the early 1800's all the way up until 1987! It's listed as #9 on the top 10 scariest places to visit. The good thing about everything is that Lisa, the person running the inn, doesn't tell you all the info on stories that have happened to her, and detailed stories of what happened at this jail until the next morning when you're about to check out. But, if you're planning on going there or want to hear about some details check out my youtube page, I recorded a vid of her giving the rundown. Thanks to Lisa who accommodated us so well, she makes a mean breakfast and has so much info on this historic place. I will be back if I am ever in the Bardstown, KY area. For my room, I got the colonial room, it was plush. A double-jacuzzi/shower, queen size bed, fan/ac, and a TV. There's so much more to write but I'll leave it at that because the best part is discovering it while you are actually there... Overall I highly recommend this place if you are an adventurous type, just keep in mind that this place is not for the faint of heart. It is good for couples, but may not be the most romantic place to some people. Families with young children are NOT recommended. While the inn is nice, don't expect the amenities to be top notch. It's a former jail people! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uE_E4ypMvM -- my site with the story on the jailers inn. Yelp
You need to stay here! Paul runs the place and is super kind and accommodating. He is so knowledgeable about the area. The beds are super soft and the history of the place is incredible. We stayed for 4 days and breakfast was delicious each morning. The location is great too! I just can't say enough good things about the Jailers Inn.

Yelp
A friend and I were doing bourbon tours in March and we figured what the heck, this place looks cool, especially since we were able to book the jail cell room for both nights. We got there and the innkeeper was super enthusiastic and gave us a short history of the room (old women's jail cell). The lady who ran the place, made breakfast, and gave tours was super cool. She was friendly, hospitable, spunky, and was able to make the place come to life. Breakfast was good both mornings and the tour was excellent. It's a really cool place and I'll stay there again if and when I go back.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time in Bardstown. The Jailer's Inn is a lovely place. All of the rooms are unique and the decor is beautiful. Paul goes out of his way to make you feel at home. We enjoyed fresh baked chocolate chip cookies while sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch. And breakfast was amazing. We will be back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited Bardstown to celebrate his birthday. I thought the Jailer's Inn would be a unique experience but we were very disappointed. Bottom line, don't waste your money. The staff were rude and the room was dingy, dirty and run down.

Yelp
I normally don't feel the need to write reviews, but it's not fair for a one star review to bring such a great place down. I bought a groupon for Jailer's Inn and decided to take the gentleman friend to a birthday vacation in bourbon country. We had a great time. It's a little spooky with a ton of history. We stayed in the Colonial Room, which has a Queen bed and a double jacuzzi (which was awesome). The decor has not been updated in awhile - which just adds to the experience. It got a little cold at night but there was an electric heater in the room for nights like that. The towels and pillows were surprisingly fluffy. I love my bed at home and theirs didn't compare - But it was a typical hotel bed so there's no sense complaining about it. We were served french toast for breakfast. It was a little sweet for me - I'm not big on sweets in the morning, but then again I'm not a big fan of country type food in general (sweets, fried chicken, etc). That's my own personal taste though. I saw a poster had complained about the coffee but I thought it was actually pretty decent. Again, nothing fancy but certainly nothing to complain about. Paul helped us plan both days we spent in Bardstown. He suggested places for us to go and gave us a map with directions. He offered to call restaurants for us and was just all-around super helpful. We had a great time going to all the distilleries. The only thing that sucked was that we were there on the days all the restaurants like to be closed or close early - Sunday and Monday. So I recommend that if you're interested in going to restaurants that you not schedule your trip on Sunday or Monday. Jailer's Inn is definitely not the place for you if you're looking for luxurious accommodations but it's nice, clean, creepy, has a great staff, and has a ton of really interesting stories. We didn't see any ghosts :( but the gentleman friend was creeped out the whole time. I was perfectly fine. Ok, I slept with the lights on the first night. But besides that, fine.

Yelp
We stayed here two nights with friends. We stayed in the Honey Suite and Nautical Suite which are the newest part of the Inn. What a fun experience. We got a free tour if the historic jail on the property and some say the place might be haunted. But the inn keeper suggested she they are all good ghosts. We didn't experience any encounters but some guests talked about hearing bumps in the night. Lol. The breakfast was adequate but not everyone got the same offerings. We loved the experience. Located very close to the center or square and we could hear cars but it didn't keep us awake.

Jim G.

Yelp
Booked this place on a whim for an overnighter. What a fantastic experience. The rooms were large and very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Paul is an excellent story teller and his knowledge of the "ghostly" activities throughout the inn are detailed and exhilarating. I highly recommend this establishment, you will not be sorry. We will be staying here every time we visit Bardstown in the future

Yelp
This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, so I wasn't sure what to expect from the Jailer's Inn. All I had to go on was what I had seen on shows like Parks and Rec, and Portlandia (so I wasn't super jazzed). I was a little worried it would be a musty place full of weird people, and devoid of modern conveniences. I'm not going to lie... there were some weird people, but that can't really be helped, and it was only one group. Anyway, point is, I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms all clean, and have interesting themes that are well done. Our room had a flat screen TV, and free WiFi, so no worries there. The owners and staff could not be nicer. In the mornings you can ask for a tour of the jail, the history of which is far more interesting than a small town jail has any business being. The leftovers from breakfast were delicious (I don't wake up early enough for actual breakfast). I particularly liked the banana bread and blueberry muffins. I'm pretty sure there are breakfast meats available as well since I could smell them, but by the time I would make it outside my room they were always gone. Ultimately, if you are visiting Bardstown, I cannot imagine a better place to stay than this. Even if you don't plan on visiting, you should. You should go to Bardstown, go to a bunch of distilleries, and stay at the Jailer's Inn. It makes for a great weekend getaway.

Yelp
Stayed here last week on a road trip thru KY. What a fun place! Excellent location, beautiful rooms, and the jail was so cool. Dixie was so nice and helped us find a great place for dinner and then made us a wonderful breakfast out in the courtyard. I highly recommend this!

Customer C.

Yelp
I was on a road trip at the end of April 2012 with no particular scheduled stops when I started searching my Garmin for places to stop for the night. Calls were made to multiple places, but this place won because Dixie was absolutely charming when she answered the phone. My daughter & I stayed there that night. Since we are both into history & genealogy, this seemed like the perfect spot! We requested, and received, a full tour of the Inn, which was very interesting. The room was perfect and the mattress so comfortable that my daughter asked what kind it was because she wants one just like it. :) The towels and bathrobes were luxurious and soft . . . mmmm . . . just perfect. The decor varied from a jail cell to very comfortable old fashioned rooms, which suited this themed inn quite well. Internet was available, which we connected to with our own laptops to plan the next segment of our road trip. Breakfast was served on the patio and was delightful. We chose what we wanted the night before, and that is what they made. My dietary restrictions weren't a problem. They new all about the history of the area and shared their knowledge, including making recommendations of places to go based on our interests. Although Dixie greeted us upon our arrival, the owners also stopped by to say hello and offer advice on things to do that night. Check in and check out went smoothly. It was great for my adult daughter and I on a road trip, but with such attentiveness by the staff it would be a wonderful romantic weekend getaway as well. P.S.: This review is posted long after our trip because I just joined yelp today. I don't remember what the price was, but it was much less than I expected for what I got.

Yelp
We traveled with friends to nearby Bardstown for an overnight stay at the Jailer's Inn. We came because of its history and it's ranking as one of the top 10 haunted places in the U.S. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the most friendly innkeeper I have EVER met, Dixie. What a fun person! She truly made our stay 100x more enjoyable. The accommodations and food were average, the tour of the old jail portion was really cool. We also experienced some ghost activity, but you'll have to go stay for yourself and read the room journals to know more! :)

Yelp
NOT returning to Jailor's Inn - even for free! It is NOT an experience to repeat, but we got a story and plenty to laugh about, in a sad way. I arrived & was greeted by the Hostess. She told me, "I thought you were a woman." I said, "Jennifer is, and she'll be here shortly," this elicited an eyebrow raise and inappropriate nod from Hazel, which I ignored. After several attempts to run my credit card, she said "There is something wrong with your card. Do you have another one?" I gave a second card & after several attempts she got it to process. There was nothing wrong with either card. Arriving at the room she wouldn't stop chatting, I wanted to rest & not taking a hint, I walked her out the door where she stood in the hall and repeatedly asked if I wanted something to drink. My closing the door resulted in a knock. When I didn't open the door she yelled through it, "I'll just leave this water for you." I opened the door to say thank you & had still more trouble getting her to leave. The clock's alarm & radio didn't work; there were cobwebs on the ceilings & the tub was gross. Never having patronized a B&B, I reflected that this may be par for the course. I was mistaken. Jennifer arrived & met Hazel who said "I thought you and your daughter were staying here." Obvious that Hazel wanted to chat with Jennifer, I took the bags to our room. After a long while I returned to the lobby to find Jennifer on the phone with the owner's wife & holding an opened lotion bottle and a used pack of bath salts. Ending the phone call, we had to yet again disentangle from conversation with Hazel. Jennifer had been taken to Hazel's room and invited to borrow anything she'd like. Hazel confided she uses the Jacuzzi tubs in the guest rooms. Too bad she didn't clean it after use. It needed cleaned badly & we weren't inclined to use it despite it being a large portion of the price. When the phone had rang and Hazel told Jennifer to stay in her apartment while she took the call. Uncomfortable, she followed her back to the lobby where Hazel wanted her to speak to the owner's wife for recommendations on where to find sex toys in town. I chuckled but Jennifer found it creepy, inappropriate, & was not amused. Breakfast was weird. Places were set for 4 and Hazel had mentioned other guests. There were no other guests & it puzzled me how she could miss them. When nobody else came to breakfast Hazel knocked room #4's door and entered without waiting for a response. Guests had not been there but the sheets were turned down & Hazel blamed the ghosts for un-turning the sheets in our room. The ghosts must have enjoyed our pillow chocolates as well. She then invited herself to join us for breakfast. Hazel apologized for the quality of the stale cinnamon rolls, "I know these aren't as good as Cinnabon but they are my Grandmother's recipe." Which I doubt, unless her Grandmother's name was 'Day Old Pillsbury.' I asked why the room numbers were out of order. #4 between rooms #5 & #6. Hazel responded that the owners had been too cheap to remodel the rooms in order. It's unseemly to state that your employer is cheap & She then went on to let us know that the owners had had words with her for taking Jennifer to her apartment the day before & that she didn't feel it was any of their business who she took to her room. I feel it was entirely appropriate for the owners to insist on a level of professionalism that she obviously lacks. I decided to intently study the water spots on the silverware and the large Y shaped crack in my orange juice glass rather than tell her so. She told us she'd be our guide for a tour of the inn. She also said that she'd like to have the room made up for the next guests by 2pm. Retiring to our room we agreed that neither of us wanted to spend time with her & to forgo the tour. As we prepared to depart there was a knock on our door @ 10:45. I asked her to come back later & she replied that check out is 11:00 & she had plans in Louisville shortly. We thought that we'd heard 2pm but rather than argue, we decided to finish packing and never return. We decided to tell the owners' about our concerns. Jennifer having made the reservations called Lisa to inform her that Hazel's comments and actions went from chatty and overbearing, to sexually inappropriate, to down right surreal. Lisa apologized and offered to discuss a refund with her husband. No credit was issued, calling back to inquire about the credit, Paul the owner stated that Lisa had not discussed it with him but that he was willing to refund half of our stay. No refund has been made. Consider yourself warned that ghosts and spirits are not the only surreal experiences you may encounter at the Jailor's Inn.

Yelp
My husband and I along with our married friends stayed here over the weekend. We were very underwhelmed. The Positive: * The grounds are cool. It's built in front of a cemetery and who doesn't love an old jail that you can explore? * There is a private garden in the back of the jail where we sat drinking cocktails. * The woman who manages the jail gave us our space. When we did see her she was very friendly and pleasant. * It's right around the corner from Circa Restaurant (go there if you are in the neighborhood!) * The woman who manages the property gives you a free tour of the jail after breakfast. This was the best part. The Negative: * The room was nasty. We stayed in the 1819 room which looked like someone died in the bathtub. There was also a sign that said we could not use the bathtub after 10pm. I found that to be ridiculous. They charged $170 for this room and I was afraid to touch anything. Unfortunately, this was the last room free so we didn't have a choice. There was one tiny window and a window air conditioner unit. No natural light. Awful frayed fabric hanging around the bed. I could go on, I'll stop here. * They 'provide' coffee very early in the morning, which I was excited about. The coffee however is like drinking dirty water. I'm not sure if they reused the filters or what? Not good. * We talked to the woman at the desk about getting eggs instead of the canned peaches and french toast in the morning and she said she would tell the manager (food allergies with canned fruit make us feel sick). The next morning we were still served the canned peaches and french toast. Half of our party ate this out of pure hunger but a few hours later they were feeling ill from it. The rest of us frantically searched for fresh coffee and breakfast elsewhere. There is NOTHING open on a Sunday in the area. Very disappointing. * She also served breakfast outside in the garden. That seems great until you realize it's 45 degrees out. I accepted another cup of coffee at this point just to keep my hands warm. Obviously, a lot more negatives than positives. I would NEVER go back here. I would sleep in my car before paying money to stay here.

Yelp
Inconsiderate staff refusing to accomodate very reasonable requests. Way over-priced.
