Fabulous breakfast!!! The food was hot and delicious!! We had a breakfast burrito. It was loaded with chorizo, egg and cheese and served with the best potatoes ever!! The Swedish pancakes were light and delicate. The southwestern eggs Benedict was perfectly prepared.

Google
The wait staff was very friendly and service was fast . I had the Swedish crepes with lingonberry. Very good. If I’m ever in Moab again, I’ll will definitely eat here.

Google
4.7 stars. Our go-to breakfast spot in Moab for 30 years. The wait may seem long at times but they turn the tables fast. The food Is delicious— especially the eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros. The pancakes are great too. Knowing you have a full day of adventure ahead of you lets you enjoy your indulgences here! Don’t miss it.

Google
Phenomenal breakfast! I had the Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries, and my husband had the Ginger Pancakes with Apple Butter then we split a side of bacon. Left so full and so happy. Quick service, friendly staff, fair prices. I’d definitely recommend eating here!

Google
What a lovely little cafe. Cute & cozy vibes. The patio has a roof and windows. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and was plenty warm in the sunshine. I had the ginger pancake with apple butter, which was absolutely delicious. My mom ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The bacon was super awesome, too. Highly recommend this spot for breakfast.

Google
Somehow found myself here. We were welcomed with a smile and say down very quickly. Skeptical at first since the menu was limited. I ordered ginger pancakes, YUMMY. My family has chorizo burrito, eggs and bacon special, and wheat waffles. Pico de Gallo tasted a little old but everything else was packed with flavor. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. So delicious. Family got an iced mocha. It was definitely heavy on the mocha. Service with great and very attentive. Definitely stop by for some breakfast!

Google
Our service and our food were on point! The coffee was so delicious too! Highly recommend if you’re in Moab!

The Eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection. I had the regular version,, although there's nothing regular about them because they add a touch of chipotle to their hollandaise to give it a touch of spice and totally elevate the dish. My wife had also the Benedicts but the Mexican version with chorizo instead of Canadian bacon and they were also amazing. So in other words, you have to have the Benedicts at this place. The roasted potatoes were crisp and also very good. My wife loves coffee and she loved their coffee too, she said it was the best coffee she had in our entire trip to Utah, and that says something as she drinks a lot of coffee. Service was fast, friendly staff!

Yelp
Early morning breakfast in Moab. Stopped in based on reviews. Sat quickly and order was taken pretty fast. The meals were good but seemed a bit high. Glad we stopped in and experienced it. It made for a good start for the day.

Yelp
Located right on Main Street, this casual cafe is in a unique pink historic building. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the ginger pancakes. These fluffy, flavorful pancakes are a perfect blend of spicy and sweet, with a subtle kick of ginger that awakens your taste buds. The apple butter is rich and smooth, adding a touch of sweetness and depth that complements the ginger pancakes perfectly.Everyone loved their food! It was 5 stars. Service was friendly and the food came out reasonably fast. The only turn off for me was the indoor cleanliness. It felt a little grungy over all (maybe just because it's an old building?) and the flies

Yelp
We got there as they opened, and it was full by the time we left. Tip: Go early or expect a wait. The food was great. Comforting and a lot of it. Eggs cooked as requested and the sausage serving was huge. (almost too much). Good home fries. Hot coffee. Superb, prompt, friendly service. Nothing fancy here -- just a good breakfast spot in a historic spot right on Main Street is well worth a visit when visiting Moab.

Megan J.

Yelp
We were promptly seated and the actual building is really cool. It's a mix of indoor, outdoor and open air seating. It took forever to get someone to come to our table and to get coffee. I came in and had the Southwestern Eggs Benedict. It was really good and cooked perfectly. I loved the taste of the unique chipotle hollandaise sauce. The downside was the lack of coffee refills and very inattentive service. It seemed like the server just expected our business and didn't need to try to provide a good experience. I am in Moab about 6-10 times a year. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here due to the poor service.

Brenda G.

Yelp
The Jailhouse cafe is a true historic site to Moab. Its menu consists of a Santa Fe flavor in its western style breakfast menu. The staff were really nice and friendly. They don't make you feel rushed to finish your meal, although busy. The Jailhouse has a bit of seating but there is additional seating that is covered outdoors. This is perfect for an early bird since it's open early in the morning and they close around 2pm for the day.

Yelp
We tried the ginger pancakes and the huevos rancheros at Jailhouse cafe and though they were both delicious. Perfect pre-hike breakfast! The potatoes that came with the huevos were especially good, very flavorful and cooked just right. The ginger pancakes with apple butter was a unique flavor combination for pancakes, which is what interested me about them. Service was fast, and we always had full water glasses. The seating area was also great, with plenty of windows.

Noel F.

Yelp
Cute little place, super friendly staff! Probably the best eggs Benedict I have had in my life. The chorizo is delicious! The potatoes, while nothing special, are perfectly crisp. A little bit of a wait, but it was a Sunday. Perfect place to fuel up before heading to Arches!

Stephen S.

Yelp
The jailhouse Café is a popular restaurant in Moab. It's worth checking out. I would say they are most famous for their bacon, so be sure to get that as a side dish if it's not included with your meal. I got the waffles, but they were out of their mix so they did something different. There is only parking on the street, which was a little frustrating sense downtown. Moab is crowded. I tried to use the restroom twice and there was a line both times which was also frustrating. I would definitely go back and maybe try something different next time.

Holeigh H.

Yelp
I rarely give a 5 star as I save that for only the best. I only took one star away for no oatmilk -I can no longer have dairy so that's a sad thing. Everything else however, was great. Service was attentive and to my surprise there was no wait for a table on a Sunday morning. I got Beautiful poached eggs cooked perfectly. Classic diner home fries but DO NOT miss out on the bacon! Also, lingonberry compote is pretty great too. YUM!!

Joe R.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast during the week around 8:30 am and got right in. Ordered the traditional breakfast of sausage, eggs, pancakes, and hash browns and everything was really good. I didn't do the menu justice and could have ordered more unique entrees, but everything I had for breakfast was very tasty. Service is very attentive, and the food came out fast. We ate inside the small dining area, but there is outside dining as well. Nice experience and prices are reasonable.

Sarah H.

Yelp
This is a MUST try in Moab. Jailhouse is a staple in the city of Moab, being there for 31 years! There usually is a longer wait so try to get there somewhat early. We got there around 9:15 and waited 5 minutes. There are 3 different areas to be sat so plenty of seating but again, it's usually pretty busy. They are quick getting drinks, food, and tables cleared. I love the country potato's and Benedict's here.

Mireille D.

Yelp
Ordered the Eggs Benedict since the sign in the window claims they have three best eggs Benedict. They were only so so. The sauce was far too runny. The English muffins were way too thin and under toasted. A mediocre experience. On the other hand, the host (owner?) was super friendly. Checked in on everyone and made them feel super welcome. I'd probably go back just because of him. But I definitely wouldn't have the eggs Benedict again!

Marina P.

Yelp
Amazing cute cafe! With a simple yet well executed menu. I had the eggs Benedict and my partner had El Greco omelette and both were fantastic. We added some bacon on the side and were very pleased with our meal. Jose was our server and along with the rest of the staff they were amazing!

Stefanie K.

Yelp
It's a solid place for breakfast food, with AMAZING bacon. It's low key, the wait usually isn't too bad, the service is generally solid. They have some neat t-shirts you can pick up, too.

William W P.

Yelp
Wonderful staff with a good selection for breakfast. Recommend trying it for yourself. God Bless!

Jim B.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Cute place with a small dining room and 2 covered and heated outside areas. Try the house bacon, delicious! Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. A must do in Moab.

Maddy G.

Yelp
Yummy breakfast before heading out for the day! Only downfall is that we asked for a side of salsa to go and didn't realize it would cost $8 added to our bill.

Brian S.

Yelp
Showed up right before close and was still greeted with a smile. They have their own coffee blend that was sweet and light. It's unlimited refills as well. My meal was one of the Benedict's and a side of yogurt that was great after a day of hiking around Arches. They also have a variety of hot sauces if you like some spice.

Liz M.

Yelp
Yummiest pancakes! Fun and super friendly staff. Cute merchandise to buy too. Definitely worth a stop in!

Krissy H.

Yelp
I have to say we really enjoyed it here, we are always looking for something fun and unique in this place was it!!!! don't really know how to explain it, has a couple of different buildings and in the middle its like a grassy commons area. All the employees were phenomenal really show that they cared about their customers and liked their job. As for the food holy guacamole it was delicious. We really enjoyed it and sure you will as well. Clean with great service and food. What more could you ask for?

J M.

Yelp
Excellent ginger pancakes, waffle, fresh fruit. Service perfect. Location in town. Easy to walk to

Tim J.

Yelp
Ate here twice during our week in Moab. Food was always excellent as was the service. Very friendly staff. I tried the omelet and the breakfast burrito, as well as the bacon. All excellent. Highly recommend!

Matthew M.

Yelp
Place is perfect breakfast spot. Service great, comfortable atmosphere and manager was very good. Bussers stayed on it the entire meal. Just a good breakfast restaurant, for sure. Megan C was our server and was also very pleasant.

Paul S.

Yelp
Moab's a strange town. Filled with people who go on what they call "hikes" which is evidently where you voluntarily walk for fun rather than just drive to get somewhere. Who knows, I've never heard of it before. I went into the Jailhouse Cafe for breakfast and was quickly seated. I started to browse the menu when it hit me....this can't be...I must be missing it....NO SAUSAGE GRAVY ON THE MENU!! I almost walked out immediately but decided to give the place a try anyway. The service was good and the food was brought out in a timely manner. The eggs Benedict was good and had chorizo as a meat option which was a good change up from the regular. The waffle is whole grain and was dry. No need for a whole grain waffle, give me the white carbs (if it ain't broken don't fix it). The bacon is advertised as being something special other than normal bacon, and all though all bacon holds a special spot in my heart, it seemed mediocre to me and was chewy rather than crispy. The restaurant was clean and the staff was great. I'll give credit where it's due.

Victoria T.

Yelp
Really cute cafe! We heard such good things about Jailhouse Cafe that we came to try it on our last morning in Moab. It wasn't too busy on a monday morning, and I got the southwestern eggs benedict and a side of the "famous soul food bacon." It was bacon that was super thick, and I liked it. The benedict was really good! I really liked the chipotle hollandaise sauce, and the potatos on the side. Everything was on the expensive side, the benedict was ~$15, and the bacon was $5.95.

James G.

Yelp
I loved this place. The southwestern eggs benedict was wonderful. The server was friendly and the place was cozy. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot.

Erin S.

Yelp
We had breakfast here on Tuesday, 7/5/22. We were seated right away! The have indoor and patio seating. When we went at 7:00 am, it was nice and cool on the patio. I got the Jailhouse Original Scramble ($11.85). It came with a generous amount of food. Good flavor! I was full when I finished! My husband got the Eggs Benedict Mexicana ($12.95). He said it was good! He also got coffee ($3.75), which he said was average. Good food, good portions, reasonably priced. Great service! We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Ja Laine was our waitress and she was great! We recommend!

Kristina V.

Yelp
This is one of the best breakfast spots we have been to! The service was top notch! We did not have to wait long for anything. The coffee was fresh and my husband loved the fresh OJ. I had the Greco omelet with seasoned potatoes and English muffin with apple butter. I am from the south and the English muffin and apple butter were amazing. The omelet was fresh I could taste all the ingredients. The potatoes were well seasoned and cooked to perfection When I'm Moab this is the place we will cone back to each and every time!!

Cassie K.

Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. If you're a fan of chorizo, this is the place to get it! A quaint little place with quick service. They've also got some pretty cool t-shirts and stickers to commemorate your dining experience. We'll be back for sure!

Nycole R.

Yelp
Unusual color; impeccable service and amazing food! That about sums it up for Jailhouse Café, but I'll say more. My wife and I were looking for breakfast recently while in town for the weekend and we happened across this restaurant. They only do breakfast, so you know they must be good. (I believe that some of the best places are those that specialize rather than try to be everything to everyone.) We were greeted by the host and told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. We sat on a bench in the garden/shop area and waited. While we sat, we saw servers and staff bustling around taking care of guests. They were moving so fast-it was almost mesmerizing to watch. Our table was ready within the promised time and we were cheerfully served by a few folks-a nice lady who took our order and a few gentlemen that refilled coffee and cleared plates. I don't know the story of the servers, but they all seem to be folks who would have interesting stories to tell. They take pride in their work and were very attentive to our needs. The food was remarkable. We ordered eggs, potatoes, toast, bacon and sausage between the two of us. Those potatoes were so good I'd order a giant plate of just those! We are looking forward to a return visit to Moab this year and will be certain that Jailhouse Café makes it on the itinerary.

Kapo K.

Yelp
I felt that this place established a very well functioning system. The staff members were extremely attentive and once the orders were placed the food came out pretty fast. The quality of the food was pretty good, I have no complaints on that department. In the restaurant itself had a good vibe and good energy. Overall experience is definitely a five star.

Patrick S.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. Chorizo scramble is the way to go but everything we've had on the menu is great. Quick service here, it's all about turn and burn since there is always a line by 9am and on the weekends the wait can be lengthy. It's worth it! I've the years they have grown into three different seating areas. Inside the original cottage can be loud and busy but it's cozy and fun. I prefer sitting ursine In the sun by the windows. The options here are all about breakfast which is the real win. By 2pm they are done for the day. I wish more entrepreneurs would observe and replicate this breakfast model. They've got it figured out. Also, I have to say that this is affordable besides being reliable and tasty. Most of these resort town restaurants are charging stupid prices for nothing special. The staff here look a bit scruffy but I Like that. It's nice and no nonsense and sometimes they will make you laugh, a lot!!

Dennis D.

Yelp
Always good food and service, they're very consistent. Our server, Wendy, was excellent! She was very friendly and attentive and provided great service and it was very nice to see a happy smiling person first thing in the morning. The food was very good! I had the eggs Benedict mexicana and it was very flavorful and had a little heat and the eggs were perfectly poached, I would highly recommend it. My husband had the southwestern eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it and again the eggs were perfectly cooked, he only wished the English muffins were toasted a little more. Overall it was great and would highly recommend dining there when you are visiting Moab and get there early because they are always busy and you may have to wait but it's worth it!

Grace C.

Yelp
This was really good food and amazing service. The t-shirts they have for sale are also actually super cute. The owner was there (or who I'm assuming was the owner, perhaps the manager) and was such an awesome, helpful guy. The food was good, I highly recommend the ginger pancakes. The coffee was nothing special, which is no big deal, but the cafe in the name did excite me a bit. All in all, a great place for breakfast but they get busy fast so I would go early.

Glenn G.

Yelp
We were staying at a nearby hotel and stopped in for breakfast after discovering our first choice was closed while the owners were out of town. We were quickly seated and served the coffee we ordered. They tout their bacon, so I decided to order that along with the Swedish pancakes while my wife got an omelet. Honestly, the bacon was good but not as amazing as some people make it. The pancakes were nicely cooked and spiced and were so filling that I couldn't finish them all (which I usually am able to do). We enjoyed our meal and would recommend this place to others. Apparently, this building once served as the town jail, hence the name.

Jon P.

Yelp
Really good breakfast! I've been to Moab a ton of times and finally decided to check this place out. It always seems really busy but they sat us immediately and served us very promptly. It's a very compact place but the history behind the building makes up for it. The food was good, it's all breakfast with a southwest vibe. I'll be back again soon I think!

Carol M.

Yelp
Best Eggs Benedict- hands down. I got the chorizo Benedict. Delicious, with a little kick to it. Eggs perfectly cooked with no gardening. My daughter loved her ginger pancakes with apple butter. Great coffee. Great service.

Tim M.

Yelp
Many friends and locals told us Jailhouse Cafe is the best breakfast in town. Went there on an October/Friday with no wait, though it was busy. Server (Mayra B) was very attentive....she brought coffee for my wife, but waited til I arrived (parking the car) before bringing mine. Our food (Original Scramble and Lingonberry Swedish Pancakes w/bacon side order) was great. Looking at what else was being walked by to the other tables also looked great. It's a little pricey, but not too much with one exception, regular coffee is $4.35. That said, we'd go again!

Krishna Bhavithavya K.

Yelp
An awesome local place in Moab for breakfast. We were seated and got our order quickly. The jail house chorizo scramble was my favorite. A little bit of spice, eggs and potatoes scrambled together. It was a perfect dish. I would highly recommend it. The coffee was awesome. Usually most breakfast places do not serve good coffee but this place was an exception. The hot chocolate was good as well. Staff and service was very good.

Ally G.

Yelp
Decent breakfast spot. We got eggs, potatoes, bacon, buttermilk pancake and southwest eggs Benedict. Everything had good flavor.

Christine N.

Yelp
Super busy little restaurant. We were seated promptly and the server was attentive. Not expecting to pay $100 for 3 breakfasts and a coffee though.

Tiana G.

Yelp
We thought the food was great! I got the Benedict Mexicana and it was amazing! We had various dishes ordered in our party and everyone was very happy! Staff was very friendly and inviting. Would definitely recommend!

Julie B.

Yelp
I visited on a chilly morning and was happy to be seated immediately and greeted with smiling faces by all. The first order of the day was, you guessed it: coffee! Delicious and refills were presented several times throughout the meal. The menu was full of good options and I decided on the Southwest Florentine Benedict. It was delicious with perfectly cooked eggs, delicious hollandaise sauce with chipotle, on spinach with tasty potatoes. I couldn't stop myself from eating the whole thing - it was so good! Will be back when I come back for more Moan adventures for sure. The ambiance, food, and fast, friendly service made for a great start to the day of exploring Moab.

Larry C.

Yelp
My wife and I just walked in this place and were greeted by the staff We ordered eggs and pancakes and had a perfect breakfast with great coffee The waitress was a lovely lady and she was very sweet and attentive.... But like all things in life the unexpected happened... my wife left her pocket book there and when we discovered that she didn't have it we were hundreds of miles away!! We called the restaurant and the manager Corey said that they had it - but they went even further and he said that he was going to take it to UPS and send it to us!! Only in a Small Town!!! Please eat here and return to what America once was a place full of great people

Robbie C.

Yelp
A must stop anytime I'm here for breakfast. The best waffle, very dense and filling. Also great fruit with it. Always the sweetest staff here.

Melodie A.

Yelp
Excellent service, fun atmosphere, delicious food. We loved learning the history of the place!

Cristina F.

Yelp
Great centrally located spot and food + prices were not bad at all considering this is a tourist spot. For two people it cost about $40 and the servers were friendly. Husband had the waffle with fruit (he ordered a side of yogurt to put on top) and a side of eggs with cheese. I had the Southwestern Benedict that came with breakfast potatoes. Also ordered a side of fresh fruit. There were also some great souvenir and gift shops right down the street

Chirelle P.

Yelp
Giving this place a solid three. I don't think there was anything super great about it that stood out. Food was mediocre. My group liked the famous bacon, but didn't think it was like over the top. I had the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries. The dish just looked very basic. Nothing over the top. Original scramble was okay. Eggs Benedict was average. Portions seemed small. Staff was friendly.

Steve H.

Yelp
Borderline tourist trap. Had a spinach and feta omelette; it was tasty - but nothing memorable. The Host with the gauge earrings wasn't too pleasant when I walked up. No greeting, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Grabbed a menu and stormed off. Place wasn't too busy (steady; but no one waiting for service). So, I don't get the curt behavior. Waitress was pleasant enough. Doubt I would go back...
