My girlfriends and I had a great lunch here. Couple of pointers : 1. Bar very small seats six 2. Cocktails are not a strong pour, however good beers on tap. 3. Service was exceptional. 4 good vibes The food was fresh and well prepared. Everything was customizable and made to order. Well rounded menu that has plenty of options

Google
It was pretty great. The beer selection is good and the shrimp appetizer I had was interesting in a good way. Battered fries were solid and we enjoyed the haddock tacos. All in all a delightful spot.

I have enjoyed Jake’s in the past but after today, I’m sorry to say I will not be going back. I ordered take out and the waitresses checking me out were horribly rude. They were rolling their eyes and making rude comments. They also messed up my order and over charged me. I was very disappointed with the meal I was given. The salad was abysmal. Only a handful of wilted lettuce and a ridiculously small portion of lobster salad. For $30! There is no way this would have been served to someone dining in the restaurant, and if it had it would have been sent back. Reply: For your information. My dog is a properly trained service dog. From an accredited program. By law she is able to ask what tasks he is trained to perform. I would have been happy to answer as well as provide proof of his training. I was not asked what tasks he is trained to perform, only rudely told he was growling and then asked if he was a service dog, in which she responded I have never seen a service dog growl. I told her that just like all animals. Service dogs make mistakes and have off moments. They are not robots. He was standing by my side on a loose leash and made no moves towards her. He is not perfect. He could tell I was scared because of how she was treating me. And she was being abrasive and staring him down in a very intimidating manor. I know my dog and I know he will not bite. I also am very aware that he does have a tendency to shake when overwhelmed with my emotions. This is not at all a reflection of his training. I weighed the lobster when I got home and it was 2 oz. The salad was supposed to come with tomato and it did not. The lettuce was wilted and parts were brown. Further more no matter what she had no right to be so rude and abrasive to me. It was the worst service experience I have ever had.

Google
The fied seafood and the seafood casserole were great. Very good Margarita. Service was great. Waitress was bubbly, happy and attentive to us.

Google
Emma, a beautiful server at Jake’s Seafood and. Grill was so attentive to our needs and always has a great attitude while serving us. The food and quantity and quality are 2nd to none in the area. I highly recommend Jake’s Seafood and Grill.

Google
A little pricey but you get a large portion. The breading on the fried options is very light and doesn't take away from the taste of the seafood. Service was very good. Plenty of picnic tables for outdoor dining and both counter and indoor seating.

Google
Went to Jake's tonight, and ordered the fried clam dinner. Possibly the best calms i have ever had. Cooked perfectly large portion. Resturant was clean quiet and service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Google
Heading to North Conway and wanted to fill up before the final stretch. What a fantastic place - hidden gem!! Incredible staff that serves up some of the best seafood my family has had. Highly recommend stopping in to grab a bite.

Yelp
This seemed to be the highest rated restaurant in the immediate area that was open for dinner. Haddock sandwich delicious... probably the best fish sandwich I've had, including at places like Maine. The haddock was really large, and also tasty. Its a pretty simple sandwich apart from that... lettuce and a bunch of pickles. Comes with a generous side of fries. Also shared a brownie fudge sundae. This was also quite simple. Nothing really special, although its a really large serving for the price. Looks like it can get busy... we had to wait a few minutes.

Yelp
We decided to bring friend from out of state here to try this seafood restaurant. It's either been the wrong day or the wrong time of year for us. Today they were open. We were all shocked by the high price of their menu items and even more shocked by the small size for the price. The interior was outdated and lacked sufficient air conditioning. Restrooms were smoldering hot. Wait staff was not very responsive. We Ordered a haddock sandwich with fries, 1/2 pint of haddock nuggets, bowl of NE clam chowder which I was told lacked clams and had a unique taste which could not be pinpointed and a large order of onion rings for the table. Been here done that...time to move onto another establishment. The food was good but overpriced ‍

Yelp
Jakes has been an annual tradition for my family. We have never had a bad meal! This is definitely a "special night" place for dinner as the prices aren't something you want to spend every day (especially with teenage boys!) but so worth it at least once in a while. On this evening, it was relatively slow and we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Usually, we come in Friday nights and have learned never to do that again (we came on a Tuesday this time around). We ordered fried pickles and calamari for apps. They aren't huge portions - enough for 2 people per app. Two of my boys weren't feeling fish so they had a burger and the other a BLT and we were all pleasantly impressed with how they came out. The captains platter can feed three people at least! It is heavy on the shrimp and they come with clam bellies, not strips - so keep that in mind. I got Ray's wrap - nothing too special but it was tasty. They also have onion nuggets - which I have never seen before and were delicious!! All the fried food was fried very well. Not too greasy and nice and crispy. Our waitress was amazing. She was so sweet and really genuine! I love that in a waitress. The place itself is cozy. It's divided into a few sections. There is outdoor seating but I haven't seen it ever used since the COVID days. All in all, we love this place and I'm sure you will too!

Yelp
Was in Saturday night for the first time . Long wait . 45 mins at least . Small place few tables . The fried calamari was the best tasting item. Lobster rolls looked good . Baked haddock , no flavor at all siting in water no butter in the crumb and no seasoning ! Not even salt and pepper. Bland as F . Everyone complained about the watered down drinks , from the pink lemonade to the alcohol drinks and the cole slaw . The cabbage was soft and limp like it was old .i do not think it's fresh seafood . Tasted like frozen to me or old. One or the other . The onion rings were pretty good . Waitress was not attentive . I will not be back . Lots of other seafood places around .

Yelp
Food was meh, service was meh. Place was cute. Drinks tasted like juice. My friend loved the chicken parm. He will likely return but, I wont..

Yelp
Just get the onion nuggets... Excellent service and food! Huge servings, also. Thanks for feeding my picky family :)

Yelp
Stopped in here on our way through town to pick up a bite. The burger was great (tasty and well cooked). The fries were soggy but only because we did take out. The salad is what got me.. it was absolutely drenched in dressing to the point that it was soupy. I didn't expect a great salad, was just hoping to eat something healthy and refreshing, which was the opposite of this one. Otherwise, staff was super friendly and the place was busy inside meaning it's a great spot typically. Seemed like a lot of locals which is always a good sign
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
Wow what an excellent experience, staff was super friendly and welcoming. I had the bacon bourbon salmon which is a special and damn it was tasty! My wife had the lemon caper haddock which was just as good. Highly recommend Jake's if you're in the area.

Yelp
Just Amazing food!!! The lobster rolls were delicious the waitress extremely polite. Thank you Jake for making our vacation an extra experience

Kimberly M.

Yelp
We love Jake's!! We absolutely love the seafood here and NEVER had anything to complain about. The waitstaff is fun and they get our food to the table with no delays. Love it here!!!

Yelp
The food was fresh New England ocean scallops. I walked in late and the allowed me to come in 845 pm. I was amazed at the quality and attention Chrissy gave me. The world is filled with stress costs are high but she engaged and made me feel good. The food is not as expensive as others I have eaten but the quality was as good as others. With the visit.

Frank C.

Yelp
The good is there haddock. The bad is there rice. Small rice and under cooked. Very hard! SORRY JAKE!
google avatar

Steve N.

Yelp
Good seafood on busy Rt 16. Tough to get in during the summer season, but we'll worth it for what appears to be a boutique seafood restaurant on the outside. Good selection of food with quick and friendly service.
google avatar

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Food is good and so is the service. Will be back again to try other items. Place was child friendly and they seemed to enjoy the clam chowder and fish & chips
google avatar

Theresa A.

Yelp
Went here early on a Saturday and we were able to get seated quickly. Our service was great, fast, friendly and efficient. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and I ordered the salmon. The fried fish was good and the batter on the fries was so good. I didn't love my salmon, I was hoping it would be more flavorful. Seems like friend food is their thing.
google avatar

Karina V.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way to Maine. Had this insatiable craving for a lobster roll and this place exceeded my expectations. Definitely stop by for a lobster roll and the haddock bites are amazing

Richard K.

Yelp
Been many years since our previous meal at Jake's. Food was very good. Server was apparently the only one for the entire restaurant that day at lunchtime. She was pleasant and efficient. Location is small and cozy, not uncomfortable.

Yelp
SO GOOD OMG! everyone was so present the staff and customers wonderful place and would like to go back soon:)

Yelp
We have not been to Jake's in quite a few years as there were better places to go and did not care for their food, but thought we try it again as friends said it was good. Guess what, it was not. Clams and Scallops were overcooked, fries under cooked and no, they do not cross each other out. I got 6 clams and 6 Scallops and plenty of fries to fill and make it look big. If you are in the area and want good food, this is not the place, try Bay Haven Lobster Pound(worth the extra drive to get there) and Mountain View Station in Ossipee Center. Both are very good and portions are better and never overcooked. I did not include my wife's picture of her lobster salad, but it was so small, it is 1/4 the size you get from Bay Haven for the same price. On a good note, the staff is friendly and delivered food to our vehicle.

Yelp
We went up to New Hampshire for the weekend and I thought we weren't going to get a chance to eat good clam chowder and fried full-bellied clams as many of the restaurants were closed on Sunday night and all day Monday. Fortunately, we found Jakes in Ossippee and it was on our way to the Manchester airport. It's a cozy homey place with friendly staff, and outstanding seafood. I enjoyed my clam chowder, not pasty or gummy which is the norm here in Florida, but very creamy and flavorful. If I could find one minor flaw it would be that I would have liked some bigger pieces of clam in the chowder, but the flavor is superb. The fried full-bellied clam dinner was also superb! Clams were so sweet and tender. Even the fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce deserve praise. Thanks for making our trip to New Hampshire complete. We will be sure to plan a visit the next time we are up in the mountains!

Yelp
Sara definitely made us smile . Service from all was welcoming, professional and so friendly. I had the baked haddock with veggies, and husband went fried with haddock sandwich be and baked potato. It must have been great, because he said.. Don't even think about it!! Salad nice and fresh. Fish delicious!

LYNNE S.

Yelp
First timer and I loved it. Captains Combo of fried seafood -fries AND onion rings to boot. The breading light and crispy. Belly clams, scallops, haddock and shrimp. My pink lemonade was yummy and she even gave me a " to go " cup for my second helping. The place is extremely clean and decorated so nautical and woodsy. We WILL BE BACK. Great menu and the prices ( even in this economy) are great. Gotta check this little gem out! They're open Fri-Tues. Yelp says they're closed today but THEY ARE OPEN

Bob L.

Yelp
My wife and I have driven by Jakes many times but never stopped. I don't l know why but decided to meet up with friends there yesterday. They had not been either. I'm a real skeptic and braced myself to be disappointed. Boy, was I wrong ! It's nothing fancy ( a good thing ) but it was clean and comfortable inside and out. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The wait staff were great. Our waitress was prompt, attentive and anticipated our needs before we even asked. I wish I could remember her name but she was incredible. All four of us very rarely order deserts but they had homemade blueberry cobbler, hot and baked in individual crocks. Well, you must have coffee with blueberry doobie. Imagine my delight when she said the coffee was a bold blend, freshly brewed and from a local roaster ! No Maxwell House crap here, by God ! We'll be back !

Maureen M.

Yelp
A bit overpriced. I have been served frozen seafood . Their french fries are frozen and their coleslaw is not homemade.

Yelp
Jake's Seafood & Grill is classic as classic gets. There is no frills about Jake's, just really good seafood. I ordered the fried shrimp for my dinner and they were great! Buyer beware that the shrimp are not deveined so if that is off putting to you, don't order. I personally don't care about whether a shrimp is deveined or not but I know some people do. Also, make sure you get the coleslaw if you are a slaw fan....I highly recommend! Overall, the food was fantastic, service was speedy & value was on point. We walked out of there 4 dinners, 4 beers for $100 which is reasonable. I'd much rather go here than than that trash can otherwise known as Hobbs.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, super cozy restaurant. Fish tacos are tasty, the Sweet Chili Salmon is one of my favorite dishes anywhere.

Buttermilk Bay S.

Yelp
First time there. my rule is to order small on a new place. The haddock comes from Boston so I tried the baked Haddock. Awesome! but don t waste $7 on the grape nut custard. Desserts isnt their forte. No custard- a bowl full of cracker crap of something that did not taste like grape nut. I took a bite and spit it out. So mad I wasted $7. For take out don't believe it when they say everything is in the bag. No utensils, no ketchup, no tartar sauce. Drove down the road and had to turn around and go back. How can you eat fried fish without tartar sauce? Come on guys?

Patricia P.

Yelp
Best clam or fish chowder in NH. All the people who work there are locals and like their job. Great service. You will be glad you stopped.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Great place! Yucatán shrimp is awesome! awesome service! highly recommend lunch or dinner here.

Theo I.

Yelp
We had the hot lobster roll which was REALLY good. My son had the chicken fingers which was great. Service was friendly and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Gale A.

Yelp
The food served in a good proportion. Quick service. Reasonable price. Always clean when visited

Kyle P.

Yelp
Place is a s*** hole that will sell you old seafood. My wife just went to order 2 lobster roles for roughly $54 that are suppose to be 1/4 lb and when she put them on a scale for her diet they were each 2oz. After going back management was horrible and gave her another 2oz. I would highly advise against going to this place. Go to Poor Peoples Pub in Sanbornton and you will be much happier and get great service!
google avatar

Maral M.

Yelp
This place is pretty good besides for a few things. First, with the good. Our server was wicked cool, Maggie was her name, I think. My girlfriend and I basically ordered the same stuff. Surf n Turf; swapped out the baked potato for a Caesar salad without croutons(keto diet restriction). Salad came out first, pretty bomb. Dressing was wicked tasty. Ordered Tito's and soda for a drink. The first round was quite weak, but that's fine. Next rounds we got double shots. Which ended up being perfect. Entrees came out; 2 skewers of shrimp and 8oz of steak tips even though the menu didn't describe it like that. But, still, no big deal. Shrimp was wicked good, juicy and not dry. But, the tips on the other hand weren't that great. Overcooked when ordered MR. But when she came back we didn't say anything ‍ I personally work in a kitchen so I get it, maybe someone was just having a bad day or maybe it took too long to be brought out and cooked in the window. Whatever happened, it's alright. Today is a new day. With that said, We shall be returning!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Third time coming to Jakes while on vacation. The food and service is always excellent. The lobster roll with onion rings was awesome. They give you plenty of food.

Yelp
We were on our way to another restaurant when we spotted that Jake's was open on Mother'sDay! Walked in with no reservation. Immediately seated! Food was fresh and tasty and quick! No holiday drama! So glad we stopped in and had a great meal, just minutes from home!
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
When it comes to fried clams, my father is a bit of a critic. He really likes those clams with the full bellies. And it seems that they are harder and harder to find. But at Jake's they have the special clams. They also have just about everything else you might want. Very good food, reasonable prices, and very easy to access in Ossipee. Jakes is where we go when we want to go for a special seafood meal

Ryan H.

Yelp
Great service and very good food! It was busy when we arrived, and the attentive and friendly staff were extremely accommodating. Would recommend the Haddock sandwich and burger. Great pit stop on the White Mountain Highway!

Yelp
Horrible apple juice taste like pee and food is gross and over priced.Customer service is horrible.

Yelp
I stopped at Jake's Seafood for takeout recently. This casual family restaurant seves up fresh seafood dinners & rolls, lobsters, steaks, chicken, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, and desserts. Campfire Lobster Bakes available during the summer. See the menu at http://www.jakesseafoodco.com The dining room to the right is decorated with lots of nautical decor, nets, fish, and photos on the walls. The back of the dining room has a lot of natural light shining through. I got the Ray's Wrap ($6.99) which came with choice of side (I got cole slaw). This wrap was great tasting which was like having a large fish burrito stuffed with fried haddock hashed with onions, green peppers, tomatoes, lettuce in a flour tortilla, tartar and cocktail sauces, lemon on the side. The cole slaw was sweet and standard with diced cabbage & shredded carrot. Yum! NOTE: Credit cards accepted, but no M/C & Visa Gift/Debit Cards accepted.

Yelp
The best deal at Jake's is the Captain's Combo platter for $26! This bad boy is HUGE and loaded with crispy haddock, scallops, shrimps, and clams and underneath, a pile of onion rings and fries. A steal really, as in Boston they would easily charge double! Our table of 4 shared this as an appetizer. For our entrees, I ordered the lobster pie; my friends got a baked haddock, seafood pasta, and a burger. All were good. My lobster pie which was essentially lobster pieces drenched in butter and covered in ritz cracker crumbs. It was buttery and rich to say the least, but the actual lobster was a touch overcooked. Onion rings and fries were surprisingly good here and a solid choice for a s Service is A+++, our water glasses and drinks were constantly being refilled and everyone was polite. My friends and I ended up here on a snowy evening, and were the only table there early on. Other people arrived mid way into our meal. Great stop on the way from Boston to Conway!

Yelp
Ordered takeout, ate outside with our dog. Fabulous fish tacos, haddock sandwich and fried shrimp wolfed down by my family. Looking forward to stopping in on the way back.

Kyle D.

Yelp
Drove up to the Kanc for the day, and we tried to find somewhere to eat that wasn't closing soon, as we hate being those last minute people. we were in and out in 30 minutes, drinks, appetizer, and two meals. the food came out very quick, and was amazing! the drink, "lake house punch" was so good, I wanted more and more. Very nice atmosphere, and the staff were quick and nice. would definitely recommend and go again!!

Yelp
Delicious, I'll definitely be back. Great service, best Bloody Mary in New England! Make it extra spicy!

Yelp
Try the clam chowder, it's made with fresh ingredients daily, is light, and is made with love!

Yelp
We revisited Jake's on Labor day and ordered the haddock sandwich with onion rings and coleslaw and was great and plentiful. Last night we went back and shared the stuffed shrimp and scallops plate with a beer and vodka cranberry. The scallops were mushy, the shrimp were tiny. My wife taste tested a shock top Belgian beer and said it was room temp, the bartender said they needed to change out the keg but it was still warm. I ordered a vodka on the rocks with a splash of cranberry it came in a glass a little bigger than a shot glass with more cranberry then vodka for $8.50 which IMO is a total RIP off. We gave them a second and third chance but last night will be the last.

Yelp
We were in the area for the foliage traveling from Boston and on the way back on rt. 16 were looking for a good seafood place to have a late lunch. There was nothing but fast food places, we pretty much lost the hope when we saw this small place. It looked like a family style restaurant just what we were looking for, decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! The food was great and very flavorful, the staff was extremely friendly and provided fast service. The place is very clean including the washrooms. Based on the menu the meals were on the expensive side but the portions were huge and we ended up taking half of our meals in the doggy bags. Will definitely visit again! Vic

Charlie R.

Yelp
Good food, I would definitely get the onion rings as the side for any order. Also their haddock sandwich is really good.

Yelp
My family and I were in town for a family vacation and went to Jake's for dinner. We went about 12 years ago and remembered how good it was last time we came into town. It was just as delicious as we remembered it! Upon entering, we were greeted by a wonderfully pleasant and upbeat hostess who promptly seated us. The service was perfect and the food was absolutely phenomenal. Our kids loved the atmosphere and especially the French fries. My strawberry mint mojito was refreshing, perfectly balanced and delicious. My haddock and shrimp platter was extremely plentiful, crispy and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the Yucatán shrimp which he absolutely loved. The owner and his family clearly care about the level of service and quality of food they put out because I really can't say enough about Jake's except I know it won't be another 12 years before we return!

Yelp
If you like your shrimp scampi made with Geisha tiny shrimps then you'll love this place a con job for the money I wouldn't spend a dime over there
