Every dish is so delicious and awesome! Especially chili relleno, so good that I placed another order of it! The guacamole is so smooth and fresh. The sign of restroom also interesting and let me have some fun for figuring out which one is for felmale.

Amazing food. Really some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. The thing is, we had like a 20 minute wait to seat a small party, and they had multiple tables empty as we were being sat. Then we ordered, and took entirely too long to get the food. It was good, just don’t know if it’s worth that kind of wait.

I recently moved to Silver City and haven't been able to find authentic Mexican food. I'm from El Paso, and everything there is authentic. Let me tell you, this place is very nice, clean, and the service is incredible. The guacamole was soo000 good! Get the chips and salsa; you won't regret it. Overall, for four people, the bill didn't come out as high as expected. If I could recommend a place to eat, it would be Jalisco Cafe. My significant other tried the burger; he said it was the best. It tasted like it was grilled and was very delicious! Although I do have a warning: if you are full after eating, do not get sopapillas. Although very delicious, they will not fit in your stomach. We ate them very reluctantly; they did not fit, lol!

Google
Best Mexican restaurant in Silver city! There was a 20 minute wait to get in at 6:30 in the evening and we closed the restaurant down and left around 9:30, which is why the dining room looks empty in the pictures. But trust me, the place was packed just 30 minutes earlier. The service was outstanding! At no time did they ask us to leave as they were preparing the dining room for close. We had the chips and salsa, small combination plates, and a couple of margaritas. The food was fresh and had excellent flavor. If you’re in downtown Silver city and you’re hungry for some good food, you cannot go wrong with Jalisco Cafe! A must try!!!

I grew up in New Mexico and have had some amazing food, and Jalisco did not disappoint, the flavor of the food was off the charts, and authentic New Mexican food. Well Done!

Google
I have been to this place multiple times and I love it. The food is great and the staff are very nice. I have ordered the double meat mushroom burger, taco plate, burrito plate, and tostada plate. The only downside is that the food takes a little longer than usual to be served.

Google
Nice staff - flavorful food- YUM Good selection of vegetarian food too! Lack of 1 star just d/t if they had more staff would be perfectly efficient for how many people are coming in Updated menu included before

Google
Why five stars for a local place? Because the taste, quality and quantity of lunch was better than the price that was charged. Service was excellent. Tables were spaced great. Loved it!

Yelp
The guacamole tostada has PERMANENTLY CHANGED MY LIFE. So yum. The sopapillas were the star of the meal, though! My family LOVED how massive they are. The restaurant is large and beautifully decorated, the ambience is so cozy and nice. We even enjoyed waiting outside for our table because the weather was so nice and there was a good set of steps outside we could sit on while we waited. The ground beef was fine, but the rice and beans and salsa were all deliciously flavorful!

Yelp
I ordered 2 Lg Chicken Combination plates to go. I didn't get what I ordered and then was treated very badly by their staff when I called. I won't go back after that phone call. They should know better.

Yelp
Tex Mex food ! Good but 3 taquitos for 12$ bucks . I was expecting bigger taquitos but they were small. Great service. Very nice decoration.

Tim G.

Yelp
The food was great but, the service was not very good at all. We waited 45 minutes after ordering before our food was ready then it was not correct. The ambiance was nice.

Yelp
Wow! I finally found a really great place in Silver City to eat. As with all good places, be prepared to wait. We came in at 5pm and still had to wait 30-40 minutes. But it was worth it! Service here matches the food, which is excellent. I got the beef platter that had an enchilada with an egg on top (I got sunny side up) 2 tacos, and a chili rellano. It also had rice and beans. It was a huge plate of delicious food. It came out hot and cooked perfect. For dessert or a side you get a yummy Sopadilla with honey. Amazing place to eat in downtown Silver City.

Yelp
This was our first visit back to Jalisco's in about 6 years. Silver City has grown considerably in that time. As typical, the restaurant was packed but the noise level was elevated from times past. Thankfully the regions growth has not hurt Jalisco's food quality. Sierra, had moved on but we still had good service. Unfortunately chips and salsa are no longer complimentary. We had the Beef Taco Plate and the Bean Burrito Plate. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. They can fry a tortilla shell and make it hard but pliable at the same time. No broken shell with the first bite! Interestingly they used a tomato slice rather than diced tomatoes. The wife's bean burritos were rather flat and done enchilada style. Different, but good. Too full again to get the sopapillas but they looked great.

Yelp
Terrible service, extremely long wait for food when not even busy and the food was terrible. I ate here three times last Spring and it was excellent but not last night and I will not be coming back.

Yelp
Being born and raised in a small New Mexican town just north of here, I was very excited to eat here because it has been a while since I've had anything that resembles GOOD Mexican food. For the last two nights I have been so excited about trying the food here and was very excited last night when we arrived and was told that the wait was 45 minutes. My husband was extremely hangry so we did not get to eat here then. We got here early today (5ish pm) and the wait was already 10 minutes but this should have been a good sign right? Finally after 20 minutes of waiting and another 10 minutes of deciding what we wanted the waitress came over to get our order. We ordered two margaritas, chips and guacamole, I ordered the chili rellenos plate and my husband ordered the enchilada tacos. When the chips and guacamole arrived I took one look at it and thought it was from Sam's club, absolutely no flavor. I asked for a bowl of salsa to help add some flavor to it but unfortunately I hate to say a can of Hunt's stewed tomatoes has more flavor. The margaritas were not bad but are not worth mentioning any further. Finally dinner has arrived, my chili rellenos was much like the margaritas, edible but not worth mentioning further. My husband's beef enchilada tacos, he said was "blah"; I thought he was over exaggerating but halfway through our meal we like to switch meal and I took one bit and agreed it was truly BLAAAAH. The service was good and the atmosphere was spectacular, warm and welcoming. As a person who is looking at MAYBE applying for a position in this area I would have to say that this restaurant is strike 1

Yelp
YUMMY YUMMY best place in town.prices are pretty reasonable I highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
4 stars because chips are not complimentary. Food was good. 4 different sauces to choose from. All are spicy. The server gave us samples, as you pay for what you order no matter if it is too hot or not. I ordered the sauce on the side to be sure. Server gave us a senior discount. Do we look that old? Ha Ha! We will be back if we are ever in the area again.

Yelp
It's clear that the philosophy of this particular café aligns itself with that of our founding fathers. Offstreet parking is available but it can be a little tight. Located in the historic downtown area. It's a cute restaurant with a great menu. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Our server was fantastic and worked through some of the menu choices. This restaurant offered a nice selection of beer, wine, margaritas and signature cocktails. The tortilla soup had a nice rich, robust, homemade flavor, that really hit the spot. The Chile rellenos were great and offered in either red or green sauce - no Christmas combos allowed! The sopapillas were outstanding to the point where we actually ordered a second dessert - yum! Check out this location for some great Mexican fare the next time you're in the area.

Yelp
They have the best chicken tacos.. Fast friendly service..LOVE IT The ice tea is fresh. If your ever down town historic SilverCity stop in and try some great Mexican food

Suz T.

Yelp
1st time here. It was delicious! Locals recommend this restaurant. Will return next time I'm in town. Service and food was muy bueno!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Best tacos around by FAR Service is not always great but food is always the same. Go early if you don't want wait to long.

Jodie K.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've ever had. My first time there, I ordered the small combination platter. It was so delicious, that's the only thing I've ordered since. I also love the Jalisco margarita. Delicious, but not strong on the booze. I generally order 2 with no effect.

Yelp
Good authentic Mexican food and Sopapillasljv are a great finish. This is a good second to Goyitas new restaurants in Tucson

Zachary W.

Yelp
Jalisco Cafe was recommended by the locals and was a very good recommendation. The Ambiance is an interesting one but their food makes it all worth it. The service was great and very attentive and good on recommendations. The food itself was very good and did not last long on the plate! Definitely worth a visit!

Steve B.

Yelp
Why this place isn't 5 star every review is strange! Great Service, Great Food, a little loud on Saturdays when it gets super busy, but a joyful atmosphere! Every time! Never had a server that wasn't top notch either. Worth the 30 minute waiting list!
google avatar

Darlene M.

Yelp
It's been years since we ate here, and we're so happy to report that the quality and quantity of food have not changed. Excellent service. The only change we noticed was having to pay for chips and salsa, which were fresh and flavorful. I had open faced chicken enchiladas, and the husband had hamburger tacos. Beans and rice delicious. Their tea is strong and flavorful.

Steve W.

Yelp
This might be the best Mexican food I have ever had. Chilli Relleno, enchiladas, and the sopapilla yummmmmm! And Arissa was the best!!!!!

Yelp
We travel 3 hours for their guacamole alone. Always busy but they do a wonderful job with the food and service. A must visit for us.

Four T.

Yelp
Excellent food! There's always a wait but it's worth it. Everything we've had is delicious- enchiladas, tacos, green sauce.

Beverly S.

Yelp
Food is so delicious. Faith our waitress was exemplary in customer service. She is an asset to the food industry/restaurant. Faith is to be commended for her gracious fun service and she is so welcoming; her smile is lit! She loves her job and it shows. So thorough and even offered us a taste of the sauce for my enchiladas.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a must when I come to town. The best red enchiladas hands down. Staff is always friendly. Decor is done well. I like the old large calendars that hang on the wall. They remind me of my aunts restaurant in Redlands,CA when I was a kid. Don't forget to purchase one of their T-shirts on the way out.

Yelp
Recently spent a few days in Silver city. My first dining experience at a different establishment was miserable. This place, however, it was recommended by a few people. They were right. Ended up eating here tonight's in a row. It is busy and there can be a wait. However, we never waited as long as the hostess indicated. Meaning, we got in pretty quickly. My first visit, The service did take a while. Simply put, the waiter was stretched rather thin. Nevertheless, we got our orders in good time. I had different types of enchiladas on both visits and they were excellent! My companion had tamales and chili rellenos and they also were excellent. The chips and the salsa were OK, and my margarita was fine: well-made and I could taste liquor. All in all, I would certainly recommend this place. It is a very pleasant setting. Three big dining rooms, but they don't seem to overfill any one at any time, which is good. It is obviously very popular with locals as well as visitors, and for good reason.

Yelp
My husband brought me here for my first time in silver city and it was such a treat! I had heard many stories of the enchiladas with a fried egg on top and I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. Long story short this place is a gem. 10/10 would recommend. Our waiter (Thomas) was super friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
We had a magnificent, magical time here. Incredible New Mexico dishes. We shared the large combo. Wonderful wait staff, efficient and friendly.
google avatar

Luinelly L.

Yelp
It's always a good sign that the food is delicious when there is a huge wait during lunch time. The place was packed so we decided to do take out. The decor in the lobby was beautiful and the waiters acted like a well oiled machine helping every one with lot's of speed. We ordered two burgers that we decided to eat outside of the establishment. Every bite good and savored. My husband and I still talk about this place and say if we visit NM again, we will have to come back here for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Service is good, but come an hour before you are hungry, they are always busy because the food is really delicious! Ask for a Spicy Margarita with a spicy salt rim, you won't regret it! The Chips & Salsa is not included but worth the 2.99 the Salsa is nicely spiced & the Margarita's are buzz full

Naomi A.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Red, green,or Christmas is our state motto, yet, according to the owner here, the chiles cannot mix. The food was overpriced, bland, and subpar. The service was sketchy. If you are looking for great New Mexican cuisine don't waste your time or money here. Try La Familia or Mi Casita for an authentic New Mexican experience.

Brockie A.

Yelp
FOOD WAS just top notch! Highly recommend, and the service was elite! Our wateress that took us to our table was super professional and so was our waiter, top notch class. Ambiance was great, loved the art work and the overall energy of the place! 10/10 recommend

Alan M.

Yelp
The food at Jalisco is excellent. The one time is was only fair, I was told by our waitress that the red chile was "very hot" that day - and it was! Otherwise, I've never had anything that wasn't great. Really recommend this restaurant for good New Mexican fare.
google avatar

Marge D.

Yelp
A family owned feeling. Very popular with the locals. The Mexican food is good. The staff very nice. I definitely encourage a visit. Reasonably priced as well.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Finding the right New Mexican place can be tricky. Most reviews get distracted focusing on other things but really what most New Mexicans want to know: How's the green chili enchiladas How's the sopapillas And maybe how's the chili or tortilla soup. I got a table in a far corner and enjoyed the ambiance immediately. The layout was nice and the place had a classy vibe overall. The wall art was cool enough that I almost hoped some of it was for sale. My server was quick. She's asked the usual question when in NM; "green or red"? I asked how they were that day and she suggested I sample both. Great idea. The green was fantastic so I went that way. It was a great lunch. I had ordered sopapillas but switched it to go. I was so full from the main dish. Later that day I warmed up the pastries with some butter and honey. They were perfect. I sorta wandered into this place, but I am fairly confident it is one of the best spots in town.

Michael S.

Yelp
Excellent food, friendly staff and service. Generous portions, highly recommended. Can't beat the prices.

Nen B.

Yelp
Food is ok, service was poor for us.... We had a server who was forgetful - we have to keep calling him to bring stuff we needed...for example we had to ask him three times for extra napkins, etc. Then on top of that it took a long time for our food to be served. It wasn't a good experience for us.
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
If you like red and green sauce then you definitely enjoy this place. They warn you ahead that everything is spicy. They give you a taste to make sure you know what you are getting into. Get the burger if you want to be safe. My green sauce was great and the cheese melty. The chicken in my enchilada was super fresh with green sauce with a kick. Mild kick. Rice was too salty. Refried beans was delicious. Soup was mild spicy but loved that they put avocado in it. Sopapilia is humongous and the best out of the two restaurants. Go with 3 instead of two since one cost $2.69 already! Loved the salsa. Chips were very fresh. A bit political - there are signs taped by the frint window and on the side of the building. You definitely get a sense of the owner's opinions. Service was great. It's a cheerful place.

Yelp
Spending a month RVng here. Went to Jaliscos on a downtown Silver City touristy day Friday of Labor Day weekend. We were so impressed! We hit there just before noon and lucky we did there were 3 couples waiting and it filled up even more. Wait time was reasonable. And so worth it! Thomas was our waiter and he was soooo impressive. Had the best house margaritas (we had 2 each) their salsa and guacamole is amazing and very nice heat! Our meals were tremendous, tasty, well made. One of the top Mexican restaurants we have EVER eaten at! If you aren't used to NM heat in your food, ask for a taste of each sauce. Well done Jaliscos!!! We will be back!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Best Tacos, enchiladas and Chile relleno I have had anywhere. Delicious. They warn you both the red and green sauces are spicy, and they are, so taste test first! Warm atmosphere and decor. Friendly fast service. Highly recommend.

Dave K.

Yelp
In my opinion all of the other Mexican restaurants in Silver City are better than Jalisco. For starters they charge you for chips and salsa. What? That's ridiculous. The food is good but the portions are small. The red Chile plate has very little meat and lots of sauce. The chicken quesadilla on the other hand is excellent. The ambience and service have always been good.
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Such delicious food! The service can be a little dicey, but you get what you get in a small town. The food and margaritas are wonderful. I recommend the beef tacos! The combo was nice to try multiple things but I will definitely just be ordering tacos next time. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
Waited over an hour for 2 tacos a La carte. Server never came to refill my drink or ask if I needed anything or let me know why the delay. This establishment was recommended by the hotel and my client, would not recommend
google avatar

Hope N.

Yelp
I thought this place was pretty good, and the service was great. It was really busy in Silver City but we got in fairly quickly. My friend was not impressed with her chicken tortilla soup (it had carrots in it and was bland) so I wouldn't recommend that, but my dish had a good spicy flavorful red Chile sauce and yummy frijoles. The sopapilla was worth ordering extra at the end! Oh-and my golden Cadillac margarita was spot on! I'd recommend this to anyone visiting Silver City. It's not the greatest Mexican food I've had in my life, but it definitely hit the spot to satisfy my craving! And the atmosphere was really nice and open with lots of windows-not a bad table in the place.

E L.

Yelp
Given the limited selection of good dining establishments in Silver City, this is probably the best. Great friendly staffs and delicious food at affordable prices given the inflationary times. We came here on a Friday night and waited for about 40mins for a table. Being from out of town, we noticed that every other customer appear to know each other. Definitely an assuring positive sign of regulars and locals coming regularly. The portions are ample and will definitely be back for our next visit to town. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Great food. Very good service. The rib eye steaks were fantastic - just as we remembered them from 12 years ago when we last visited Silver City. In fact, the steaks were so memorable from our last visit that we made a point of stopping in Silver City just to eat at Jalisco's. Salsa hit the spot, as did the Margaritas! Great to see this place was alive and well, and that our memories hadn't led us astray.
google avatar

PT S.

Yelp
Wow. Of the three of us new to this place all three said they'd come back. Last but not least is the desserts. They have this humongous chocolate cake that's to die for--- literally if you try to eat it all alone and not share. The green chili sauce is the one we all voted for. There's a line to wait for seating, but once seated service comes quickly and so does the food. Quick check and payment too. Just enough bite in the sauces to know it's not bland but no do much to cook your mouth.

Brian M.

Yelp
Fantastic Mexican food and the service is top notch. They also have one of the best steaks in town.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Adequate? We don't go here anymore because of the half-baked political-slash-medical thing as mentioned in other reviews. And there are cheaper, far better options around for Mexican food if you're willing to drive-through or drive up, and the time of day is right. Once I had to teach my young waiter how to handle a corkscrew here ... But if all you need is to be fed at the end of a long day, and you're apolitical, and you're not made of money, you could honestly do worse. This place is the paragon and the avatar of 3 out of 5 stars.
google avatar

Cheryl H.

Yelp
The art and decor is so beautiful...punched tin lights and weavings on the walls is so cheerful...very like the staff, who are friendly, efficient and kind. The food is reliable, and tasty. The sopapillas are a grand finish for the fresh meal of chicken and beef tacos, enchiladas and much more.
