Google
Absolutely blown away by this place. I’d heard about it but decided to try it out and they exceeded my expectations. I ordered the apple cinnamon French toast and the fried chicken eggs Benedict and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and seasoning to perfection. Servers were very attentive all around and always made sure we were good. Coffee was great too. Will definitely be back soon.

Google
I will dream of this brunch for years to come! The French toast was incredible. Soft thick bread but cooked through. The vanilla whipped cream was lovely! This was my favourite brunch place of three during our trip to Victoria. They also have such cool decor including a brunch periodic table! Yes there is a line but if you get there early it’s all good!

Google
This is an absolute gem, I'm so envious of locals who could eat here every day! We had to wait 30 minutes (Sunday noon), and the wait was 100% worth it! We ordered the peach & brie eggs benedict with a side of buttermilk chicken thigh, a pork-belly eggs benedict, and the peach French toast. Everything was extremely delicious! I also loved that it introduced us to a fresh combination of flavors we have not considered before. I wish I could stay here longer and sample more of Jam's food... please open a location in Ontario :-)

Google
The Jam seems to be incredibly hyped right now which has as effect that there is a waiting line 5 minutes after it opens at 8 AM on a Sunday. We were there 5 minutes after opening and got a place and a chance to check the huge variety of meals. The portions are huge, and the presentation is Instagram-worthy. I have to admit that for me, the taste (Cappuccino and Huevos Rancheros) did not live fully up to the presentation, but that is lamenting on a very high level. All in all an experience to try out for sure.

Google
Massive portions, killer comfort food, and vibes for days! The Chicken French Toast and Charlie Bowl are wild—in the best way. Always a line, but totally worth the wait. Come hungry, leave in a food coma (no regrets). Staff is awesome too. 10/10 would brunch again!

Google
Had a wonderful experience at Jam Cafe in Victoria! The breakfast was absolutely amazing, generous serving sizes, packed with flavor, and beautifully presented. The coffee was excellent too, rich and satisfying. Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. A perfect spot to kickstart your day, highly recommended!

Google
The fried chicken waffle is awesome! This is the taste i haven’t tried before. I really like it. For me as an Asian, i felt very full because the amount of the meal is huge! The CP value is high! Highly recommended for brunch!

Google
Long wait but I can see why. Great service. Massive portions & v yummy. Bacon was bombbb. Maybe not the type of sausages I like but I found them quite mediocre

Yelp
Such a good and different selection for breakfast menu. It felt different for me because I came from USA, not sure if these items are popular in Canada. Ordered a veggie bowl, which had biscuit and veggies and eggs. Totally loved it Also tried corn bread with huevos rancheros. The corn bread is out of the world and a MUST TRY. Place has a signature interior, pretty funky. I liked it. Overall service was quick. You may get a long line though depending on the time you reach. There was no line when we reached, but by the time we returned there were at least 8-10 partied standing in line

Yelp
Jam Cafe is a delicious breakfast spot. We were in Victoria and was thrilled about it because I imagine the line was shorter there than Downtown. We waited in line for only 20 min or so and got seated (for 2 people). We ordered: Chicken French Toast - A perfect balance of sweet and salty and crispy Cornbread - idk what makes a bad cornbread but this was really good Extra potatoes - super crispy and fantastic Overall, would most definitely come back!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is pretty good! We had biscuits and gravy with pork belly shared between two people which was more than enough. But we also needed fiber and ordered a fruit cup (v over priced). We would likely come here again. The service was great and the place itself is cute.

Yelp
We love this place. Whenever we are in Victoria, we go here. There usually is a queue, but it goes fast. Friendly staff. Food excellent. I love their hash browns; reminds me of my father's; crispy on both sides, no soggy center.

Yelp
In transit (coming home) review on its way... I'll post the full review when I ride back in the states

Yelp
Good service and the food tastes good. I loved Charlies bowl? I'm not sure about the name. French toast with blueberries wasn't my style, so I recommend trying other french toast!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is great. The hot chocolate was also real good. I think the pancakes were also really good. The only thing I would recommend to eat are the Monty pancakes
google avatar

Jodi P.

Yelp
This place always has a line for good reason! The line goes by quickly I might add. It's worth the wait regardless. Let's talk food , I ordered the special which was a chorizo thanksgiving bowl- absolutely amazing , it had stuffing made with roasted veggies, mixed with chorizo and a side of roasted potatoes. My husband ordered the tater bowl - also absolutely delicious with the pulled pork. We decided to share blueberry pancakes and let me tell you they don't mess around with this blueberries! Servers was super friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait in line for this place. A wide variety on the menu. I had eggs Benedict and it was delicious. Eggs were perfectly cooked, I wish I would have got a little extra sauce it was so yummy! Can go the chicken and French toast. The portion was huge, they didn't a weird spice on the chicken that wasn't very good. But the crunch on the chicken was great!

Yelp
You do not need to question the popularity of Jam as the line can be over a block long to get into this breakfast haven. We lucked out and got there just as the staff was opening at 8am. It quickly filled up with many happy campers. The music was a wee bit loud at first. Things seem to quiet down as breakfasts came flying out of their kitchen. Poached eggs, maple laced bacon, eggs Bennies were the order of the day. Of course scones with their delicious blackberry jam also crossed out lips! Highly recommend and get there early!

Rebecca W.

Yelp
The wait in line was well worth it!! I had the "Fat Elvis Waffles" and they were phenomenal!! Very interesting combination and I was so glad I chose something different than my usual eggs benedict that I typically order when eating out. Who knew that carmelized bananas, peanut butter drizzle, candied bacon, and peanuts could be so delicious!! And the Jam Bacon Caesar Cocktail? Awesome!!! Service was stellar!
google avatar

Yelp
We got breakfast to go on my birthday when we were in town and even though it was to go, it was delicious! Friendly staff when we came to pick up too. Would definitely come back if we're in town again!
google avatar

Yelp
I'll start off by saying the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff were amazing. I was not a big fan of the food and it could've been what I ordered, but it wasn't the best. Definitely recommend the coffee and I'll try this place out again.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
The breakfast was great. Brown sugar maple bacon was real sweet and savory. Jam was great. Multiple servers constantly refilled the coffee cups was a smooth brewed coffee. Music level was at a pleasant level.

Yelp
Wanted to love this , but the flavors didn't quite work for me. The quality was abundant, the quantity was abundant... but the flavors, not for me. Ordered the gravy coupes, which is a big as your head biscuit, a smidge of gravy, crispy hash browns, 2 eggs, 2 slices of pork belly (or some other meat) cover in scallions. The big ol biscuit was dense and dry. The pork belly was too fatty for my liking. The pork gravy had a weird flavor, but wasn't enough to offset the dry biscuit. The hashbrown was good and I liked the French toast that my hubs got (which is a compliment bc I don't like French toast anywhere else).

Kathryn W.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Food was meh. Here's how to make the Brie and Prosciutto Benny better: first don't bring it out lukewarm. Have Brie at room temperature. Fry the prosciutto so it's not just a limp piece of meat. Serve it on top of the eggs. Onions were too sweet for the savory side of it. Brie should be melty-not hard as a rock. It cooled the whole meal down. My friend's food was also lukewarm-she had eggs and sausage with toast.

Yelp
Back again. I've tried lots of things, every term is really good. This time, Nutella French Toast is a classic dish for me and I love it. Also, pancakes with savoury things are great, gravy sauce and pulled pork is really good with the pancakes.

Yelp
Comfy and eclectic place but the meals we had did not match the expectations of this place.

Yelp
There aren't too many restaurants I visit more than once on the same vacation. We want to the Jam Cafe three times during our trip to Victoria. It was that good! I tried the Pear & Brie Benedict. Such an interesting combination of flavors. The savory creaminess of the brie melded perfectly with the sweetness on the pear. Topped with a very respectable hollandaise and a beautifully poached egg, this was a dish I'd order again. Next visit I discovered that you could order a single pancake with any of their sweet toppings. I choose a cinnamon swirl pancake paired with a pork belly Benedict. The pancake was a delight with plenty of cinnamon punch, and not too sweet. The pork belly was cooked perfectly, but needed a bit more flavor to carry the dish. Benedict can be pretty bland without a boldly flavored meat to back it up. On our third visit, I did the single pancake trick and got a chocolate banana pancake. This was pure dessert, but it was so so good! The caramelized bananas were so good, with little crunchy bits is sugar. The chocolate was in the darker side so it wasn't too sweet. Still, I was happy I got one pancake. I couldn't imagine eating more than that in one seating. I paired the pancake with a half order of fried chicken Benedict. The chicken was boneless thigh meat, so it was nice and flavorful. The corn salsa added zing to the plate. All in all, this was the favorite Benny I tried. All few other notes: I tried a bite of my husband's bacon. Some of the best live ever had! Also, they serve really good coffee. The service on all three visits was really attentive. Love this place, and will visit again.

Yelp
Decided to write a lighter review as all the previous reviews are accurate earning 5 stars. From the picture you can see the line before opening. When we left at 8:45 there was still a line. As you can see that the line is protected from bad smells from animals. Although, I find the sign objectionable and sexist because it only shows a male dog. In addition Canada is bilingual. What about French bulldogs and French poodles.

Yelp
So good...and well worth the wait during a busy weekend crowd. It was so good that we didn't even stop to take any pics. Great service and a very efficient, the food came out fast for them being so busy. I had the Gravy Coupes and the Sunnyside up eggs were cooked perfectly, no un-cooked slimy whites. The buiscut and chicken were great. The buiscut is so big I had to get some of their tasty house jam to finish it. My wife had a huge omelet with big cubes of ham. Both our coffees were great, not sweetener needed. Definitely go to the Jam Cafe when you're visiting Victoria!

Yelp
Cute little breakfast spot in Victoria. We were seated right away which was great as it seems to be a busy place otherwise . Service was great and our waitress gave us these two recommendations and she was absolutely right to do so as they were both delicious! My husband had the pulled pork pancake and I had the fried chicken French toast. Both of them had the similar sauce with maple and some other spice that complimented the meal. I was impressed at how well the meats went with the breakfast items such as pancake and French toast. I also orders a lavender latte which was ok. But not terrible. (I found Canada doesn't do coffee as well :/) I would highly recommend this place for some yummy breakfast for sure!

Joshua M.

Yelp
The food was fabulous. We shared the french toast sticks, the tacos and the gravy coupes. Everything was good. Portions are large. Service was good. There was a line, but got in with 10 minutes. Would recommend!

Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast in BC. Love this place. My daughter and I ordered pancakes, they were absolutely impeccable and they were quite big. If you're a bacon lover this place is for you, the bacon is crispy yet melts in your mouth and is savory but has a hit of sweetness. In my opinion it was the best bacon I've ever had in my entire life. The service is great, the people are so nice and the food comes out quickly!

Yelp
There are a few Jam Cafe's around Vancouver but we decided to try it in Victoria since we were exploring the area anyways. We got there around 9am on a Friday and was a small line (not as long as I expected, thankfully!). We were able to get seated in about 20-30 minutes. We ordered ice coffees, blackstone benny, cracker jack and an omelette. My benny was bomb!! The bacon was sweet and a bit crunchy. The muffin was toasty and crunchy, ugh so good! Most muffins with benedict are soggy but this was perfect. My sister thought her cracker jack was just ok, it lacked bananas. My husband thought his omelette was good, nothing special. Overall, I'd go back for just the blackstone benny lol but I don't know how I feel about waiting in line for over an hour, eek!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here for breakfast yesterday.... Yikes what a slam dunk. Everything was on point, the service was prompt and very informative. I had the Harrison Hash and she had the Buffalo Benny and both were just stellar and came out within 15 minutes even when it was pretty busy. Eggnog latte was creamy and the mimosa was tasty. All around excellent! Good job! We'll be back.

Yelp
Our second day in town and our second day eating breakfast here! It is soooo good and so many options we just had to come back. Both days delicious and fun. The sound level is really high so that's a consideration for us older people who have a hard time hearing but worth it.

Diane D.

Yelp
Best best best breakfast in Victoria Pancakes and omelet were absolutely amazing. Don't miss worth the wait!

Yelp
This place is definitely popular here in Victoria. Not sure why. We arrived about 8:30 AM in order to not wait in line and I believe we got the last table. By the time we left, there was a very long line out the door. For me, it was just really average. The food portions were medium. And the taste of the food was just ok, nothing was outstanding. I had the chicken fried eggs Benedict which barely had any Hollandaise sauce on it. My partner had the cast iron taters skillet. It felt expensive with each dish costing around $22. My drip coffee was $4 (whyyyy it's drip!!) and I ordered a side of country gravy which was about 2 tablespoons worth, they actually charged an additional $3. I don't mind paying good money when I feel like I'm getting a quality meal but I felt a little ripped off by the time I left. Not worth the experience or the breakfast. Not to mention it always feels a little bit awkward when the waitress hangs over you while you tip on the credit card machine. Will I be going back, no. Do you want to eat here for an average pricy breakfast, maybe?!
google avatar

Yelp
Lucked out walking by Jam Cafe seeing no line ups, so in we went. Feel blessed. It has everything one needs for a breakfast establishment...great service, good coffee and an amazing selection of items on the menu. The room has a great vibe with the hustle and bustle of the wait staff squeezing through the crowd of patrons. I opted for the Avocado Benny. The presentation was spot on and the eggs were poached perfectly. Hard to go wrong with avocado and poached eggs on an english muffin. My dining companion ordered The Charlie Bowl. I tried it and quite enjoyed the gravy and biscuits. Our server was very pleasant, attentive and she regularly filled my coffee...yeah. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend Jam Cafe. PS. There was a lengthy line up as we departed...guess we just timed it well.
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
This is a great place for breakfast. The line was quite long , but moved quickly. We opted for counter seats rather than a table. Service was stellar. The apple cinnamon brioche French toast with cream cheese frosting was awesome. My husband ordered the standard breakfast with scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage. Huge portions. Definitely a great place to eat and not to be missed.

john w.

Yelp
This is a cute little place and the waitress was quite friendly, but honestly the food is average at best. Seeing the frequently long lines out their door, I just don't get the hype. We both ordered pancakes. The serving size was huge, but the quality was low. For a breakfast restaurant to serve such dry, heavy pancakes is a travesty. Do yourself a favor and add some sour cream or ricotta to your batter to get a bit of moisture and fluffiness.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Great place! Spent 4 days in Victoria and ate breakfast here twice. Hardest thing was deciding on what to get...hence going twice. Charlie bowl was soooo good. Big portions packed with layers of flavours. Go. Get there early. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Miyuki A.

Yelp
Great breakfast and brunch options. They have many food options and everything looked awesome :) The veggie bowl was packed with many kind of vegetables and tasty gravy. I loved adding their hot sauce for a little bit of kicks. I would love to go back and cannot wait to try something else.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, Jam Café is popular. It's THE spot for breakfast in Victoria, so expect to wait in line if you don't show up the first one there. But who doesn't want to sleep in? And honestly, I think you should just sleep in. We attempted to visit Jam Café on a Sunday for breakfast and the line was way too long. I got things to do, yo! But we ended up coming back the following day, a Monday, which was much better. We arrived around 9am and were able to be seated inside immediately, even though we were hoping for a table outside. But those were all taken by the early risers! By the time we left there was a line outside of peeps, waiting to brunch. Holy moly. Is it worth the wait is what you're asking, right? Well, no, I don't think so. I was glad we visited when we didn't have to wait because I am not sure if I would've waited an hour or so for the gravy coops, the dish I ordered. Don't get me wrong - it's a tasty dish. But is it the best brunch I've ever had? No. I ordered the gravy coops, which was a fried chicken on a biscuit with two over easy eggs, sausage gravy and hashbrowns. My partner ordered the special of the day, the carne asada and eggs dish with cornbread. It didn't take too long to get our food, and we both enjoyed what we had. My dish was heavy, as if you didn't get that hint by reading the description. The fried chicken was good and tender. I did like how flaky and soft the biscuit was, but surprisingly, the gravy was a little bland. I chose the sausage gravy and couldn't really taste much of that rich, sausage flavor that you usually get from this kind of gravy. But they make their own hot sauce, so I definitely topped my dish with that, which added some flavor. My partner also liked his dish, but mentioned he wouldn't order it again. Overall, if you find yourself looking for a brunch spot in Victoria, I'm sure Yelp and other search engines will tell you about Jam Café because they do offer a wonderful array of traditional brunch items, savory and sweet. But I don't think you should wait an hour for it. Wake up early or visit on an off-peak time and you'll be happy you dined here.

Henry J.

Yelp
Decent service and good food, but neither are that outstanding to justify their prices. Understandably food and labour costs have gone up but when breakfast for two is $70+ it is getting at tad excessive IMHO. On the bright side there was absolutely no wait and lots of empty tables.
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast!!! First time visiting Jam Cafe, and we will be returning here every time we visit Victoria! My wife had the day's special, which was a two egg, English muffin fried chicken Benedict - topped with melted Brie cheese, pickled asparagus, Hollandaise and chive oil. She normally only has one egg at breakfast, but this was so delicious that she ate the entire dish. I had to try their chicken and waffles breakfast, which was a Belgian waffle topped with fried chicken thighs (boneless), sausage gravy, and two fried eggs. House syrup on the side, but the waffle had the perfect amount of sweetness so the syrup was not necessary. I didn't expect a Southern US specially to be sooo good in Canada!! This dish would have been right at home in Georgia... The restaurant is right next to Chinatown, at the end of Dragon Alley. Worth the stop!!!
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
Great looking and great tasting food. Line was about 12 to 15 min wait in a cold, drizzling Wed around noon. Had the eggs Benedict with the thick rich bacon. I selected medium for eggs..not too runny but still soft...great hollandaise sauce. Side of hash browns was crispy on both sides with some grilled tomatoes. Hubby had homemade rosemary biscuit a(nice and flaky with layers), with fried chicken in side and mushroom gravy and two eggs over easy. Daughter has French toast brioche with Nutella, bananas, whipped cream, which was more like dessert. Friendly nice courteous service. Would recommend and come here again.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Victoria and got recommendations to this place from a fellow passenger from the ferry leaving from Seattle. Everything was soooooo AMAZING!!!! I was a little worried when I first showed up because there was a very long line to get seated. The food was most definitely worth the wait!!! Best food and drinks for brunch hands down. So full of flavor, yummy. I only got to try two of the mimosas, the lychee and the fuzzy jammer, they were bomb af. I gotta come back and try more.
google avatar

Georgia L.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous brunch place worth the hype! We had the Chicken and Waffles and the Benny with their bacon, add avocado. We also got a side waffle with DELICIOUS maple waffle. All were great! Their coffee drinks are also good, I got a fabulous chai tea latte that was the icing on the cake. We didn't have to wait for long but imagine there is a much longer wait on the weekend. We were sat at the bar and had a lovely waitress who was very friendly and kind. Very fun place full of character for a great morning treat!
google avatar

Priscilla O.

Yelp
A delightful restaurant filled with breakfast aficionados. Despite the morning rush, the waitstaff was competent in taking orders and delivering food to the table in a timely fashion. What stood out was the delicious mixed grain toast, some of the best we've eaten. We spent the rest of our trip trying to find more of this bread, to no avail.
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
Quick visit but key to enjoying new places is trying local establishments. And this is one you don't want to miss. The menu is a fun read leaving you with a tough choice; you can only have one of their b'fast meals. I picked mine and watched others in the restaurant with different meals and all is us we're smiling in between bites. Treat yourself!!

Julie C.

Yelp
I will never go back. There was something that tasted not right in my vegan bowl, a dish I order every time I come. The manager came out to berate and yell at me, made me feel small. He cared more about defending his food than my experience. The red pepper tasted off to me. I was fine and happy when I arrived to brunch and left in tears. The waitress was apologetic and they comped my food but it doesn't matter. The damage is done.
google avatar

Cin C.

Yelp
Maybe breakfast foods are just not my jam, but I found Jam Cafe just okay. The service was good, the food was ok and the price was a little high (but you are in Victoria so to be expected). We came on a random weekday morning, so there was no lines and only three other tables being served. I had half of the Blackstone Benny (basically a benny with sugar cured bacon) and my partner had the Huevos Rancheros. Both were okay, but nothing to write home about. Have had better, also have had worst. Maybe we order the wrong items? Also, when did three pancakes start costing $17?
google avatar

Milt B.

Yelp
The food was good, though the eggs on my avocado Benny were cold. I didn't like the potatoes pancake here as well as the one at Johns Place. The coffee was plentiful in larger cups, but it was Columbia style and I prefer a darker roast. The service was fine. The decor was interesting. We had a nice big table for four right by the window. A great place for breakfast. I was impressed that I got a half an avocado on my plate. It was perfect.

Yelp
One of the breakfast/brunch menus I've ever seen. Wonderful cocktails and a warm atmosphere.

Yelp
+.5 for service For a place rated 4.5/5, I think my expectation may have been a bit high... I was recently in Victoria, and had a chance to dine here before ferrying back to Vancouver. After seeing very good reviews for this place, I decided to dine here for breakfast with my family. Arriving at around 11am, there was a small wait, not more than 15 minutes. They checked vaccine passports and seated us promptly. Overall the service was great throughout. We had an idea of what we wanted; my dad and I wanted the pork belly benny, while my mom took the cold smoked salmon benny instead. My mom loved her food. Myself and my dad? We liked the eggs, hash browns, but the pork belly was extremely tough. Barely chewable at all, They were big, thick strips...but not much you can do if you can barely chew them sadly. I ordered an extra hot chocolate with whipped cream. Came to as expectations. Since we really only had one problem dish, 3.5 stars is a fair rating. Perhaps I had a bad batch of pork belly, but it had to be known.
google avatar

Dave A.

Yelp
Highly recommend if you are in the area. Popular for a reason and holds up to the reviews. Came with a group and our waitress was attentive and regularly checked in. Get the Bloody Mary you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Excellent vibes, food and service - interesting flavor combinations, big menu, and solid drip coffee. Couldn't have asked for a happier brunch.

Yelp
Always worth the line !! Great service, amazing atmosphere You won't regret it Cozy and cute place
