This place is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside, which is helpful if you forget. The veggie burrito was pretty stuffed, which was great, though I found out after a few bites that goat cheese isn't really my thing (just a personal preference!). The French toast was really tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. You'll definitely leave with leftovers. The potatoes were my favorite part of the meal, and the outdoor seating was a nice touch. The staff was friendly.

My brother and I went out to get some breakfast on a Sunday morning around 11 AM. Saw the pictures of the food beforehand, thought it looked amazing, and golly it held up to the expectations! My brother got a chicken and egg sandwich that he loved and satisfied him. I got blueberry pancakes, with some toast, and house potatoes on the side. All of it was very delicious, we appreciated that none of it it was too sweet. The staff was nice. The atmosphere simple. With the two main plates, two sides, and two cups of coffee, it totaled up to $50 — which we were happy with, especially with how full we were. This place is CASH ONLY. They do have an ATM. We were very happy with our experience and look forward to returning!

I want to start off by saying our waitress was super nice and the service was quick! The interior is quite charming. Their mac n’ cheese was so-so but the chicken tortilla soup was delicious! This joint being cash only is a drag and being sat right in front the door made for a very windy/chilly meal.

Google
Good service! We were offered a free plate of French toast (delicious), because the cooks made an extra order by mistake? Glad they didn't throw it out and let us benefit instead! All of our food was correct, and great! Big portion sizes. The walls can be opened up to allow a nice breeze through the restaurant. I'd visit again!

The food was great, and free pancakes for the kids was a happy surprise! This place is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside, which is helpful if you forget.

Loved every moment, except for sitting next to the bathroom door, which folks slammed every time they used it.

Google
My wife saw this place from the train and took me here for breakfast this morning. We love the neighborhood that surrounds it and the ease of accessibility from the brown line. We were sat at the front most table so I can't speak to the entire restaurant but it appeared very clean and up kept. The service was very fast and friendly. The menu had a great selection of Benedict options and various waffles and pancakes. The food was delicious and the coffee was great too. Highly recommend.

Google
Nice quaint little restaurant with great food. Parking was a challenge but the good food and service made up for that. I think the price for breakfast for two people ($47) was a bit pricy.

Yelp
Second time visiting Jam 'n Honey. Love the cozy atmosphere, food and kindness of waitstaff. I highly recommend the two eggs meal - and their side order of fruit was awesome. Fresh fruit and lots of it. Definitely worth the price. I had some tea and loved that they brought out a teapot and all the extras that go along with it. FYI- busy on weekends (of course) but on a Sunday morning, with a party of, we snagged a table right away. The waitress with the red hair and lipstick that's on point was WONDERFUL. I didn't catch her name, but kudos to her, especially with the place being packed and navigating a pretty small space too. Definitely check this place out! And it's CASH ONLY - they have an ATM there just in case too.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast while waiting to get my car serviced and very pleased. Super cute mom and pop vibe breakfast stop. Our meal was a very no frills just good old American breakfast. We sat in their outdoor seating area and still had attentive service. Our server was kind and energetic. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

Yelp
Great Gluten-free (and regular) Breakfast! We visited Chicago in September and celebrated Mass at Saint Vincent de Paul church... on a very rainy Sunday morning... and as we departed church we realized that good food was blessedly right across the street. Great food! My wonderful wide and our awesome daughter are gluten-intolerant and they both had great GF breakfasts, and I enjoyed mine, too. - Hot cocoa - V8 juice - Eggs Benedict - Build your own omelette... with spinach! AND two GF pancakes - Hearty breakfast - eggs with spinach, potatoes, bacon, sausage and toast... oh yeah! Kasia was a gracious host who made us smile and laugh on that rainy morning - thank yOU! Reminder... they are cash-only... thankfully my wife was prepared!

Yelp
Jam 'n Honey is a cute little brunch spot right by DePaul. It is cash only, but they have an ATM. I ordered the Mexican Benedict and absolutely loved it. It was full of flavor and the potatoes in the side were tasty too. The food came out extremely quickly. Overall, it's a solid value in a good location and I will be back again sometime.

Yelp
CASH ONLY !!!! ****** besides that, 5/5 stars. We went on a Friday morning around 11am and didn't have any issues with getting seated. Coffee is grounded here at Jam n Honey and boy oh boy is it good! Bottomless coffee and a staff who will keep the cups coming! Couldn't decide if I wanted savory or sweet; so I opted for the Nutella and banana pancakes and I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND. Couldn't even finish the plate it was so big. Other gal in my party ordered the French toast and it was amazing. Will definitely be coming back

Yelp
*cash only establishment* Came for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon. We got a table outside right away. The service was slow, but the food was good. We had the veggie burrito, which was fantastic! Only complaint was that the cheese was only in one corner of the burrito so having it spread out more evenly would've really elevated the taste. We also had the 2x2x2 with eggs over easy and bacon. Overall a very good meal, but one of the eggs was overhard...No run at all. The other was perfect. Bacon was nice and crispy. Overall a pretty good experience. I'd go back for sure!

Yelp
Food was okay. Nothing special really. With a name like Jam'n Honey you'd expect biscuits to be on the menu, but no. The bfast sandwich was HUGE. Very filling. This is a nice little corner cafe. The atmosphere was cozy. The server for my table wasn't particularly friendly, but did his job.

Yelp
This was a great experience!! It is a really small restaurant and they only cash only. Don't let that scare you away because they have awesome food. The wait staff is very nice even though they are super busy. The food is the star, we just looked at it for a while once it arrived and then the first bite sold us for life.
google avatar

Yelp
CASH ONLY It just wasn't great. We got there and the wait was relatively short but service could be better. We waited like half an hour before our server got there despite it not being crazy busy. The eggs were good but I got the butt piece of toast so that wasn't great. Very meh experience

Yelp
pretty good food and cute and homey inside! super nice staff, and good music too! however, they only take cash so that could be a downside

Yelp
Our new favorite spot close to DePaul - where my niece just started school. My sister, niece, mom and I all came here for breakfast. It was fantastic! Based on rave reviews from my niece, I got the stuffed French toast. Delicious! I am picky about my French toast but this was done exceptionally well. Fluffy, tasty and filled with an amazing cream cheese concoction. My mom had the blueberry pancakes and while she is normally reserved with praise at restaurants - she kept raving about how delicious they are and how she can't make them nearly as well (she is an excellent cook and we are all quite spoiled because of it). I'm We will be back! Likely every time we visit!

Yelp
We love Jam 'n Honey! The crew there has watched our daughter grow nearly every week since she started eating solids and we can't wait for our youngest's first baby pancake :)

Yelp
A homey and quaint breakfast spot in the heart of Lincoln park. I had the eggs Benedict and it was yummy! Also, it's cash only!!

Yelp
This is a good spot for a quick breakfast or lunch near DePaul in Lincoln Park! It was early afternoon on Saturday and our daughter and I needed a quick bite before we headed out on adventures. We stopped at Jam n Honey since we were already parked nearby. We were seated quickly by an efficient server, orders taken and we were done within half an hour - exactly what we were looking for! We both had breakfast for lunch - eggs, sausage and toast, which is hard to mess up and our meals were just fine. The only weird thing (to me, anyway) is that it's cash-only so bring cash or be ready to pay the service fee on the ATM machine conveniently inside the restaurant...I can only assume there is a business agreement with the ATM provider. That, or they are planning in advance for some kind of financial apocalypse. But ignore my musings - bring some cash and have a decent, quick meal!

Yelp
This is place is located near DePual University, and is so cute on the outside! Minus one star because they were cash only. The food was very good! I loved my omelette and my family loved their sandwiches. I would recommend the local chicken sandwich particularly! Our service was pretty fast as well!

Yelp
We stopped her today because I love the area ! Also had to pick up my cats meds at a specialty pharmacy in the area! We sat inside outside as the window was open! Very clean ! Safe seating! Staff were awesome and friendly! The man in the white apron was very nice! The French toast was delicious with honey butter! The menu was two sided with a lot of good yummy sounding choices! The wait staff were helpful as I was between two choices ! My daughter and I will definitely go her again! Love the DePaul area neighborhood ! Yummy yum!

Yelp
(Ordered through Grubhub) The food was not very good. The burger tasted burnt on the edges, the cheese looked and tasted like a Kraft single, the fries were soggy, the tomato slices were way too thick, and the bun although it was only lightly toasted, also tasted burnt and soggy somehow. The tomato jam was actually very good though. The blueberry pancake was pretty horrible- bitter blueberries unevenly scattered within the pancake with bad syrup, however the vanilla butter was delicious. It took a while to get to me too (not necessarily the restaurants fault though), I wonder if the food would have been a little better had I eaten it in the restaurant.

Yelp
Had a wonderful brunch at Jam 'n Honey! The food was delicious especially the gluten free pancakes! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Dropped in while in the Lincoln Park area one weekday afternoon. Had the place to myself and was quite glad if it. Ordered the chicken and waffle. The chicken was chicken breast without the bone in. It wasn't juicy, which was perhaps to avoid the waffle getting soaked, but it wasn't dry either. It was just right. Ordered a side of eggs scrambled with cheddar. The whole meal was satisfying. I don't know about any cash only policy. That may have been from when they first opened. They accepted my credit card without complaint and without snarl. Service was great. Then again, it wasn't crowded so there was no scrambling. Like most breakfast spots in Chicago, I'm sure weekends see a full house. I'll take my chances during the middle of the week. The food was good enough for an encore.

Yelp
I think this place gets a bad rap because it's cash only but I knew this going in so it was fine by me. They definitely do have a POS though as two girls next to us paid with a credit card. This food was incredible and they have some really unique combinations. I got the bacon waffle and omg was it scrumptious. Husband got the pork belly scramble and could not stop talking about how good it was for days. Service definitely could have been faster and more attentive but wasn't awful by any means. Reasonably priced and good size portions. They don't take reservations and the inside can get pretty packed so would recommend coming on a sunny day when they have more outdoor seating.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
The food was INCREDIBLE for the price. I got the veggie burrito and they do not stimp you on anything. Tons of eggs and other ingredients. It was soooo good, highly recommend. It has such a cute diner vibe inside, the servers attentive, constantly topping coffee off (I am so over caffeinated writing this review, my fingers are typing a mile a minute). I knocked a star off because it's cash only, but they do have an ATM in the building. I highly recommend.

Vera F.

Yelp
Cute place right by DePaul. Food was good. Service good. Just know it's cash only but there is an ATM machine.

Yelp
This is a nice local mom and pop shop for brunch. Seems decently popular but not too busy where you can't find a spot. Prices are pretty fair. Around the 10-14 dollar range I would say. They have nice outdoor sidewalk seating as well. I got the BLT, which is a very fair price of only $9.50 and a cup of coffee for $3. The coffee is unlimited. BLT was pretty solid but nothing that blew me away. I'd love to try their breakfast food sometime. My friend got old style French toast and they were very willing to customize it to her preferences (adding whip cream and berries). She also got tea as well, which was just prepackaged tea bags. Overall, great place if you just want a casual breakfast or brunch and you live around the area.

Kaitlin F.

Yelp
I wasn't impressed by this place. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Also so silly that's it's cash only... it's 2024. The food was just mediocre. The staff were nice. The coffee was awful and all they had were those plastic room temp creamer cups, not great. I hope things get better.

Cachunga M.

Yelp
The food was great! Service was a little lacking but we frequent often because it's close to home. We love the patio, can't wait for it to open!

Yelp
This past weekend two of my Yelpy friends had a lovely brunch. We must have got one of the last tables before the wait started building up. Our table was in the back which we all agreed which was preferred away from the hustle & bustle up front! We started with bottomless coffees which they served in the just adorable mugs! Now the food menu at Jam 'n Honey is huge! I had a hard time narrowing down what to get but finally settled on the Italian Benedict. Important to note, they had like ten Benedicts to choose from. Wowza! The Italian Benedict legit tasted like a delicious pasta dish for breakfast. With risotto cakes instead of English muffins! I mean c'mon now, that's genius. Loved my meal here, service was pleasant and got the job done. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Kennedy M.

Yelp
Food was mediocre but was not pricey. Took awhile to get sat but the service was awful, unfortunately.
google avatar

Len L.

Yelp
Saw plenty of people eating here so I decided to stop in to try the food here. Menu is pretty extensive and what caught my eye was the "pork belly hash". Ordered and also added the bottom-less coffee, unfortunately only ended up with one cup and no refill needed. The PB hash looked great and the taste was not too bad other than it was extremely greasy. Overall the meal was decent and did not realize they only except CASH only in small print on the bill and nothing outside showing that. The good thing that I can see if you get a small discount if you are a DePaul Student.

Yelp
So this is my second time going to Jam 'n Honey. The first time was via a to-go order after a rowdy night out with a couple of friends. This time, the second time, was with 5 other people. We were sat immediately and our server was incredibly kind. Customer-service wise, I think the restaurant is absolutely amazing. My only, and biggest, problem with this restaurant is how expensive it is for such average food. I had gotten the Chicken and Waffles for $15 alongside a cup of coffee for $4. The waffle itself was great. It was exactly what I expected a waffle to be and it paired well with the chicken. The chicken by itself though was incredibly dry and mildly seasoned. For $15, i was expecting something a little better. Once me and my friends had paid and left a small tip (they had added 18% gratuity on top of our bill so I gave a $2 tip in cash), I had asked them how they felt about the food. I couldn't take a picture of each of their plates but I do remember the meals they got: Hearty Breakfast with a cup of coffee, Stuffed French Toast, regular French Toast, the Bacon Eggs Benedict, and one more food item that I forgot. Nonetheless, they had all agreed the food was very 'mid' (or average) for how much we had paid. Our total bill came out to $117. All in all, they're a great restaurant with average food. I wouldn't recommend them to my friends though :(

Yelp
Oh, you're cash only? First of all, no you're not. You clearly have a point of sale system that accepts cards. Plus delivery service with GrubHub, Uber eats, and Door dash. So....you are not actually cash-only, you prefer it. I also don't like to pay taxes. I don't like to pay ATM fees either. Second, if you claim to be cash only then that needs to be plastered all over the place and you need to tell diners when you seat them. This isn't the 80s. Almost no restaurant is still cash only. Especially post-Covid. If you're doing this you need to make that insanely clear.
google avatar

Reah A.

Yelp
I've not visited Jam 'n Honey at the restaurant, but just had delivery from DoorDash. The portion sizes were quite large and very filling. I was impressed by what I had: the pancakes (their honey butter is a nice touch), and the breakfast sandwich. I'll definitely order from here again!

Jim M.

Yelp
Food was average. Not bad but definitely not great compared to other "high end" breakfast spots in the Lincoln Park area. The interior is a bit worn out and not maintained. Service was very good.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
The Classic Waffle ($7.50) was pretty decent - but certainly made better by the industrial sized container of Nutella left at every table. The syrup was strangely watery, so we asked for another tiny pitcher. The side order of pork sausage ($3.95) was flavorful and a nice addition to the morning meal. Despite being one of two tables seated in the main dining area, we had to flag the waiter down twice for coffee, and a third time for the check. And remember, cash only!

Yelp
I was introduced to Jam n' Honey this past weekend while having brunch with two Yelp friends. When I first arrived I was met with a beautiful Jam n' Honey sign outside that screamed take a picture of me. Luckily I arrived a little early because I was able to score one of the last few available tables without having to wait. The restaurant started to quickly fill up after I'd been there for 10 minutes. The waiter promptly greeted me with water and a menu but I noticed a table of four next to me had to request a waiter after they'd been sitting there for awhile. The waiter still took a few minutes to after at their table after the request was put in. Luckily the food arrived very fast so I had hopes for this place. They had a large menu so the first thing I had to decide is breakfast or lunch. That's the only way to get through the menu without wanting to order everything. I met in the middle and went with the South of the boarder breakfast burrito. The burrito was jam packed with goodness! It was so massive that I had to take half of my breakfast home. Aside from the size of the burrito it was absolutely delicious. I didn't have any expectations going into brunch but when I was done I found my go to place when I'm in Lincoln Park.

Yelp
*CASH ONLY, BYOB* I'd been wanting to come in here for quite some time, but I'm always nervous about long brunch waits, so I just haven't gone. Luckily, I ventured over to Jam 'n Honey after the brunch rush recently and there were only two other parties seated inside, along with another couple outside. No stress! My boyfriend and I were seated at a table right when we walked in, and it wasn't until after we'd already ordered coffee and were about to order entrees that I noticed we were in a cash-only establishment. If you're reading this ahead of time, go get cash! There is an ATM inside Kelly's across the street, but there's a $3.50 ATM fee, which hurt. Not Jam 'n Honey's fault - totally mine. Just letting y'all know! Bottomless coffee tasted great with an order of my favorite brunch item, Eggs Benedict. Theirs was meaty and dripping with hollandaise, with a side of breakfast potatoes. It was pretty delicious. The Benedict was average, and our waiter was great. They closed at 3 and we were out the door by 2:50, but they were definitely in a rush to get out of there, which made me feel guilty and a little anxious. My boyfriend went outside to get more cash around 2:40ish and they'd already locked the door and had to let him back in. I get trying to keep people from coming in that late, but again, it just made me a little anxious. I'm glad we visited, but I'm not totally sure I'd come back or recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
CASH ONLY (but there is an ATM in the restaurant) They May seem a little pricey at first blush, but the portions are so generous you could easily share a meal. And what a meal. I had blueberry oatmeal pancakes that were hearty enough for Paul Bunyan. The fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth morsels were savory with blueberries making the perfect hint of sweet. And a little cinnamon butter to top it off. Hubs had Nutella waffles and was equally impressed. Kiddo had banana Nutella waffles that looked great but I was too full to try. The staff was friendly and service leisurely but sufficient.
google avatar

Abby O.

Yelp
Service was a little slow. Don't really blame them because the place was packed. Had to wait around 30 minutes. I had the Mexican Benedict which was very delicious. Chorizo patties were so tasty

Jessica A.

Yelp
The food is not good at all. The chicken tastes like fish. I would not recommend the parfait. Way overpriced.
google avatar

Stacy H.

Yelp
Dined today and pretty much had the most minimal service possible. Took forever to get our check and took forever again to get our change. We had the pork belly hash again and the serving size definitely went down. Had the loaded waffles and it was SO bland. Had to load up on the syrup. If you don't want to wait forever, make sure you bring singles.
google avatar

Sherri L.

Yelp
Looking for someplace open to have breakfast. They had outside seating well spaced. Friendly service and a delicious breakfast. We had blueberry pancakes and a Veggie burrito with goat cheese. All were great and portions were so big we didn't finish our meals. Hope to come back again.

Cari C.

Yelp
The food is pretty good and our server was super nice and patient. Service was great. But seriously...CASH ONLY? and it isn't mentioned at all anywhere and customers are not told this at all, nor is it on the website. Luckily there's a "conveniently" placed ATM that only allows withdrawals of $20 bills. It charged a $3 fee for a withdrawal of $20.... The ATM is probably owned by the business on top of that. Honestly, way to ruin a perfectly fine lunch by making customers go through that charade.

Yelp
A girlfriend and I were walking around Lincoln Park and were actively looking for a place to get lunch/brunch. We were a bit tired from walking and had another restaurant in mind, but it was another .75 miles and we were beat. Jam 'n Honey showed up on Yelp as having decent reviews and being just a block away, so we gave it a shot after reading through the menu. Once we were seated is when we noticed that it was a cash only joint. We asked our waitress and she pointed out an ATM that we could go to, however when my friend tried it it declined her card which was unusual. When we informed our waitress that we were going to go elsewhere for lunch since we didn't have enough cash and the ATM declined the card (we wanted to be safe than sorry) she said that they could accept credit card... which was a bit odd. I ordered the local chicken sandwich and my friend got their Mexican benedict. The place was packed inside and out with young and old, college students, and families, so it took a bit for our food to come out. When it did come out the presentation was nice and the portions were good. Overall, the food was good but not great. It scratched the itch of getting something local for lunch, however I'm not sure it was the best place to go for a meal on a short weekend trip to Chicago. Definitely a locals spot though and convenient for folks in the local area.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great breakfast this morning. Nice choices of food but of course the most amazing thing was Nutella. #Nutellalife

Yelp
5 stars all around! My friends and I (a party of 10) are visiting Chicago. We came to Jam 'n Honey for brunch and we were all amazed. First off, the service was quick. We called 20 minutes in advance and were able to be seated as soon as we arrived. Our waitress, Grace was amazing shout out to her. Great customer service, all of our orders arrived correctly and promptly. She was able to accommodate us with all our requests from extra silverware to straws. The portion sizes are large, the food is well seasoned and fresh. Of course it's BYOB. Please come and ask for Grace!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here with a group on a Sunday, and I was already excited with how good the food looked. The service was okay, and they got a few things wrong with my order, so overall our experience here was just okay. Some of the people I was with got breakfast food which I think looked better than the cheeseburger I got. The pancakes and French toast seem to be their best-looking items. I'm not sure if I'd come back, but it was worth trying!

peyton s.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Came here with a party of 6. Waiter was very aware of my allergies and remembered for an additional dish we ordered. Fries are some of the best in the city
google avatar

Yelp
*CASH ONLY* I came here with a friend around 10am since we were concerned about a long wait on a Saturday. Luckily we got seated right away and noted the crowd started to come closer to 11! The food itself was pretty good! The banana pancakes had bananas baked between them and came with an incredible vanilla honey butter. My friend had the chicken bacon cheddar Benedict which had great flavor, however, the chicken overwhelmed the dish. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and I would recommend this place to someone looking for a casual, laid back brunch in Lincoln Park. I personally would not go back as there wasn't that 'X' factor that made the experience special/unique.
google avatar

Michaela C.

Yelp
I've never dined in at this restaurant, but ordering via UberEats has always been successful and delicious. The portion sizes are generous. The French toast is thick and crispy, and perfectly sweetened on its own (I am not a fan of syrup). The honey butter is a delicious addition. The side of potatoes and also great! Flavorful and crispy, and I always have leftovers.

Yelp
this place is CASH ONLY!! We came here on a Sunday around 12, and the only seating available was outside in the sun. We started out there, but it was WAY too hot and uncomfortable, so we asked to sit inside/in the shade. After about 10 minutes we were seated, which was pretty quick given how busy it was. I ordered the Santa Fe scramble, and my friend ordered the banana and Nutella pancakes. The food came out so quickly, and we dug right in. My scramble was so good, with that kick of spice with the jalapeños and the salsa. My friends pancakes were the perfect sweetness to balance out the spice from my scramble.
