Jamala Wildlife Lodge

Jamala was on top of my bucket list of things to do. It went over and above my expectations. We stayed in the Lion Bungalow and the lion was on show the whole time he slept right next to our window all night. The park and Aquarium itself beautiful and well set up The owner and his staff are so nice and helpful they go over and above and very knowledgeable. We went on a tour of the park and it was fantastic. The room is lovely and with great views. The main building for dinner and breakfast was set up to perfection and staff were amazing food was exceptional. There is so much to see and do. Make it a must see

Great experience, great food and friendly staff, only suggestion would be to push dinner a little later. We booked the giraffe lodge and were able to check in at 3:15 however pre dinner drinks were at 6 and dinner shortly after. So with a group giraffe feeding for 20 minutes between 4 and 4:20 and dinner a few hours later, The time we got back post dinner it was too dark to see the giraffes. Suggestion is make dinner at 8 so you can enjoy the animals all afternoon. Other than that, very memorable experience you have to try

Had 4 nights at Jamala at the beginning of October. |The entire experience from check in to check out was first class. A true 10/10 experience. The food was sensational and rivals any fine dining we have experienced. I don’t think we will ever receive so much food on a plate again! Luckily we did lots of walking! |The accomodation was superb!!! Walking into appropriate music playing in the background, the most comfy beds, incredibly clean and with amazing animals right before our eyes, I cried many tears of joy. |We were planning on having a day out of the zoo to visit the Canberra war memorial during our 4 nights stay but we decided we didn’t want to leave. Our hire car sat in the car park from the minute we arrived to the minute we left! |Experiencing the animals how we did from our various accomodations was truly magical. Feeding giraffes and then sitting on our balcony with a glass of wine, watching them slowly stroll past was a sight to behold. Who gets to do that?! |The lion bungalow was very emotional. Being separated by only glass and watching the family of three interact with each other, hearing them roar, sneeze and various other sounds was something I will never forget. Waking up in the middle of the night wondering what a sound was and looking out to see the cub playing with her Mum only inches away from me is something that will stay with me always. |Every single member of staff we engaged with at Jamala were fantastic and I truly cannot fault our stay. It was superb on every level and can only say if you’re considering a stay at Jamala, do it! It will not disappoint in any way. And it will move you like you won’t expect!

You just have to add this experience to your bucket list. Jamala is the most wonderful place to stay, and the see beautiful animals. The park is beautiful and thoughtfully setup for both animals and people to enjoy. The aquarium is great we spent a lot of time in there.We were lucky enough to meet Richard Tindale one of the owners, he is a lovely man and his staff are all so nice and very helpful. They just want you to have a wonderful time. Thank you so much for your awesome gift to my husband and myself we loved the lemur room. With the heated pool right outside our door.It is so luxurious & the bed was so comfortable. We had great views over the park on one side and of course the lovely sweet lemurs on the other side. We really appreciate your generosity so much.The main building has so many beautiful things that have been collected over the years. There is so much to see and do.

We had waited over two years for an opportunity to stay here. The warmth, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the well thought out experience is nothing you have ever experienced before and this entire experience will be hard to beat. A full package of luxury accommodation, atmosphere well-crafted and perfectly staged and the food, nourishment you won't forget. It's family friendly, romantic and you will need more than one day. In a wild encounter room, we petted cheetahs with their keepers!

I stayed in the giraffe tree house and absolutely loved the whole experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay. The food was divine, both the high tea and the 3 course dinner. The lodge and our room were beautiful and the bed was so comfortable! We got to meet so many animals up close and the staff shared their knowledge and obvious love for the animals with us. Doing the tour before the zoo opened was amazing, it felt like we lived there. I would highly recommend staying here!

Our group stayed in both the Jungle Bungalow with lions and the Giraffe Treehouse, and the entire experience far exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special, the welcoming afternoon tea, the stunning artwork throughout the property, and the incredible staff. Feeding giraffes right from our balcony was absolutely magical, and hearing lions roar outside our window was something we’ll never forget. Dinner was exceptional, and the morning walk to breakfast through the zoo before opening - watching the animals start their day, was such a unique and peaceful experience.
