"Occasionally, we all find ourselves yearning for a simpler time, and colonial Williamsburg is a family destination that immerses travelers in the country's earliest days. Don a bonnet, churn butter, and ride the rustic roads by way of horse-drawn carriage. The city makes up one corner of the “Historic Triangle” comprised of itself, Jamestown, and Yorktown. And the period cosplaying fun doesn't stop at the historic district and living museum—families interested in puzzle-solving can even book the pirate-themed Colonial Escape Room. Stay here: At the Williamsburg Inn, a 62-suite Colonial Revival hotel built by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., your accommodations are hardly tired or stale: Rooms in shades of custard and pale blue are decorated in the early 19th-century Regency style, with carved wooden tables and damask upholstered Queen Anne sofas lending real, refined elegance—so the whole gang can relax in style. Just went to see the sunset and gave us the most breathtaking sunset I have ever seen so far. The water was nice and the beach was clean but the view was awesome. If you are near there on vacation just go and check it out.

Great place, water is still a little cold. They allow dogs as long as you are respectful and CLEAN UP AFTER THEM.

It's $5 for parking but definitely worth it if you are going to be there for the day, it all goes to a good cause. The water was great and you can walk way out into the bay! Definitely great for people who like to be able to touch the bottom while swimming! I recommend going early to get good parking close to the beach.

We were in Williamsburg during a heat way and took the family to Jamestown beach. Very nice facility with nice amenities. The only issue we have is the impetigo that my grandson came home with. This a bacterial infection from the water. When we saw the dead floating cat fish we got out. We really started to worry on the ferry ride across the river when we saw about 7 more dead fish. Please use caution going into this river. Do not enter if you have any open cuts or sores. This infection is on my grandsons face. Please protect yourself and family and enjoy this river from the shore. If there warning signs we didn't see them. You are swimming at your own risk.

This was an outstanding experience. I took my sister's dog Stella and she just loved it! I love all the nooks and crannies that we could be in. Whether I wanted to be in a quiet spot in a nice shaded area, it was available. This being a dog friendly area was excellent too. Everybody was very respectful and the dogs were very social here. But at the same time everybody could go in their own direction with their dogs and enjoy each time. This would be an ideal spot to go anytime of year. And I certainly know that I have a long leash that she can enjoy doing her own thing but I am in full control. Enjoy your time there! If you have found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up 👍 and feel free to follow me for future reviews.

Beautiful beach area with kayaks available for rent. It also has a nice shaded picnic area, grills, easy walking paths, a little boardwalk, clean restrooms and it’s very near the Pocahontas Ferry that provides transportation to Surry County. Lovely spot. We will be back.
