If you’re in Glacier National Park and need a tasty dining spot, Jammer Joes Grill and Pizzeria is your go-to spot! It’s got that laid-back, cozy vibe that’s perfect after a day of exploring. We were on the hunt for veggie options and hit the jackpot with their pasta and pizza. The breaded Parmesan eggplant was truly a standout; its crispy coating provided a delightful crunch that paired perfectly with the rich marinara sauce. It was unique and packed with flavor, making it one of the best dishes I had in the park. Even their basic cheese pizza, with the choice of your toppings, was tasty and satisfying. We also ordered huckleberry cheesecake for dessert; it had a good texture and was very tasty, although it didn’t have much of huckleberry flavor-just a few huckleberries as toppings. Ratings Summary • Eggplant Parmesan Pasta: 4.5/5 • Cheese Pizza: 3.5/5 • Huckleberry Cheesecake: 4/5 Service is speedy and cheerful, making sure you’re well-fed and happy. Jammer Joes might not be fancy, but it’s definitely satisfying. So, grab a seat, enjoy the mountain lodge feel, and dig in!

The restaurant is at Lake McDonald thereby making it the perfect spot to grab some food while you are there. I ordered wings in Buffalo sauce and they were perfect. Service was quick and they have some good pizzas and vegetarian options as well.

Let’s just say it’s decent enough compared to the prices of the other restaurants in Apgar and McDonald. The food wasn’t spectacular but it was better than the freeze dried meals and we didn’t get sick. If we come back to the area I wouldn’t eat here again though and would make sure I brought enough food into the park.

After 5 days of hiking on the West side of the park with limited food options we were craving some normalcy and for us that is spelled PIZZA! The pizza was pretty good! The crust was a little undercooked in the center causing the slices to do a landslide unless you held it but other than that it was good! It was nice to not have to pay for refills, every other place charges $3.50 a glass for soda and lemonade. The atmosphere was fine, nothing fancy or over the top just a classic “fast food” feel. There is no air conditioning in the building so if it’s hot, be prepared to be hot while you eat! One detail to mention, one of our pizzas was made incorrectly but at that point we were too hungry to complain.

We were so excited to try this place, but ended up leaving disappointed. We entered and got what was left of some pizza. The salad bar was good and tasted fresh. The pasta with one being empty and the other look like it had been sitting there half a day did not look appetizing at all. When they finally got more pizza out it was good but limited options and very lengthy and wait time. There is no air conditioning so we come out of the heat into the heat and then still had to wait on the buffet to get stocked. Someone who I guess was a manager came out of the back and began yelling at staff, but it did get some things rolling for the buffet. I was just very disappointing to pay for four buffets and have such a limited items and food available. The taste of the food is why we gave the food two stars. This would be a great place and has so much potential if they could get things straightened out, just not sure if we'd be willing to try it again.

I kid you not, I seriously think the pizza is from the kits at Costco with the cardboard dough. It makes sense because they come out very quickly. The "meatballs" seem like Costco meatballs that are thawed and sliced. The chicken on the pizza is like dino nuggets that are cut up and put on the pizza. Given the location, I guess it's something, but for the price, they should have something more real. Warning: the buffet is $16.50. I believe they used real cheese because my lactose intolerant child started making noise.

Google
I ordered the chicken parmesan. It came with somewhat overcooked (tasted precooked and packaged) noodles and some kind of unoffensive, but bland canned tomato sauce. The chicken, if you can call it that, was horrific. First bite, I thought it was all gooey breading, second, and I had to disect the "patty" to make sure it wasnt raw. The whole thing had a look and texture similar to lutefisk. It was as if, instead of having the half decency of serving me a processed chicken nugget for $15, they instead made what seemed to be a gelatin patty with extra gelatin and dissolved it into rendered chicken fat. The dish was inedible, and the worst pasta dish Ive ever ordered. Gnawing on a frozen tube of spaggheti-o's would have been fine dining in comparison. Speaking of fine dining, employees told me that Lake McDonald Lodge, next door, serves mostly the same food. They said that it is just more expensive because its considered "fine dining".

Google
The pizza was quick and great, the salad bar has a great variety of stuff too. A great cheaper opinion than in the lodge.

Yelp
JAMMER JOES is the restaurant outside the building of the lobby. At lunch, it provides Salad and Pizza Buffet. It is a good place to get vegetables (and definitely meat pizza)! The staff there are nice! They would refill the food (for buffet) as soon as they can. It should be my TOP1 restaurant in the park.

Britany K.

Yelp
After a 12 mile hike, the carbs here were perfect. Would suggest for families with kids traveling in the park.

Yelp
Usually places with food in the park aren't the greatest. However, I thought this was decent pizza for inside the park. We also ordered the bread and marinara, we received pieces of Texas toast. Not what I was expecting lol just a heads up. Pizza was pretty quick coming out.

General K.

Yelp
I'd like to keep this short because I think this might of been the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Walk in and the table is dirty. Order $8.50 "Garlic Bread". It was literally 2 small pieces of texas toast and it wasn't even microwaved properly and was rock hard. The pizza comes in and it is burnt so bad that it looked unedible and they got the order wrong. If I could give this place a 0 I would.

Ginger C.

Yelp
I would avoid if at all possible. It was very hot and stuffy inside the restaurant. The Mediterranean pizza looked like (and tasted like) it had been in the deep freeze for a while with those curved and burnt edges. It was like eating a pizza cracker. The Caesar salad was not any better unfortunately. Lots of croutons and not enough lettuce. Hubs had the meatball pizza and it looked better but unfortunately didn't taste great. Just skip it and save your money! $50 for a meal we couldn't finish and had to go find other food.

Lizbet I.

Yelp
We were not expecting this pizza to be this great. Good pizza, Good Service! Continued to soak in the Glacier experience at a good location, wasn't crowded; good ambience.

D C.

Yelp
Wow was this ever horrible pizza. I do not know what kind of cheese they use on the pizza but it is soft and gooey not in a good way.

Shana W.

Yelp
They had a pizza buffet when I was there. It had pizza, pasta, salad and cobbler. It was great for a quick bite especially when your hangry. The pasta wasn't the best but it he pizza was decent and the salad bar was great. I just grabbed a cheese pizza slice and then added salad toppings from the bar. Olives and mushrooms!

Yelp
A decent place to eat after hiking. The staff was friendly. We were visiting during the July 4th weekend and it was super busy. For a place to serve food in a national park, it had a pretty extensive menu to offer. Well done! Had their Pesto pasta and bread basket with marinara sauce. It was good. A special mention about their huckleberry ice cream. Must try. The only negative was wait times for food and long wait for us to order our food. We literally had to catch hold of a server to order food! Again, not sure if this was due to the weekend rush. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Enrique C.

Yelp
Not sure why so many low stars. I guess YEMV. All four stars are for service and friendliness from our server. Thanks Holly from Mass!! Your smile and eagerness to assist made it all worthwhile. As for the food, not the worst I've had. I skipped the pizza because it did not look too appetizing. My Italian sandwich had the right kind of meats but it lacked a few other condiments. Once I asked for the oil and vinegar and salt and pepper it was rocking. I had one of the local beers which was crisp and satisfying. Wife had a pesto pasta which she enjoyed and no complaints from kids meatball subs. Not too bad for a park restaurant.

Katy H.

Yelp
Delicious salmon wrap and buffalo burger. Well priced for good food and you can see cute Colombian ground squirrels scurrying around from the window. The next time I'm in Glacier I'm definitely hitting this place up. To be fair, the buffet didn't look appetizing which may be what some of the negative reviews are referencing.

Laura D.

Yelp
They got half our order wrong and it wasn't that complicated. The service was kinda slow despite them not being very crowded. And the pizza itself wasn't very tasty. I would eat at the nicer restaurant in Lake McDonald Lodge and pay a little more if I could go back.

Emily M.

Yelp
Seriously, just don't. If you have no other option and are stuck in a torrential rain storm like we were, just wait it out. Disappointment doesn't get.much worse. Place is expensive, staff is rude, food is subpar. Our waiter actually talked us out of stuff because he said it was crap.

Henry L.

Yelp
Pizza here is amazing and is in a larger size than you would find at most restaurants, which is always great. There's a buffet style eating at the entrance which was pretty cool. However the cheesy bread isn't so great. It's good, but it only gives you 7 small slices for $8.00. Location is great and restaurant is clean and a nice place to go to and eat pizza.

Eric A.

Yelp
We landed at Jammer Joe's Grill after white knuckling GTTSR. Very bright and open, it had a pizza buffet. She Who Must Be Obeyed had a salad on steroids with beans and bacon and a whole lot more with some wonderful huckleberry lemonade. I enjoyed the bison sausage with a creme soda. Good food @ a reasonable price. Visited August 2014

Harsha R.

Yelp
The veggie hoagie was a total disaster. When it was brought to the table, it looked like it had suffered a marinara explosion on the way. There was sauce all over the plate and the sub was somewhere submerged deep inside. It was nearly impossible to pick it up to eat it. As much as I hate sending my food back (thanks to all the grossness I have seen in the movies), it had to be done. It looked much better the second time around but didn't taste all that great. The hot chocolate came with lumps of chocolate in it and no stirrer. Jammer Joe was not even an Average Joe.

Chris T.

Yelp
A decent place to get a beer, salad and a couple slices of pizza. This is a reasonably priced family type place to eat while in Glacier National Park. If I were staying with family at Lake McDonald Lodge this is where I would take them. This place is totally casual and has all the plain jane food kids like. However, If I were looking for something more upscale I would try Russell's Fireside Dining Room in the Lake McDonald Lodge.

Jil S.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch and had the pizza buffet. Not bad, but not stellar...just average. Super overpriced, as are most things in the park. $12.00 each. Pasta was super oily..that was nasty. But salad bar and pizza were just typical of this kind of a place. Kids will be happy, but for anyone with a more seasoned palet, don't waste your time.

Jackie B.

Yelp
Skip this place! It's in a prime location so why not have a GOOD product to sell? We were craving pizza after camping and hiking for 2 weeks. It had to have been some of the worst pizza I've come across. We were hungry, and couldn't eat it all. We had 3 toppings (pepperoni, bacon, and ham). The sauce was like tomato paste just dumped onto the crust. The cheese was some plastic looking white mess. And there was ALOT of cheese. Only giving 2 stars because the service was really good. Kept our water glasses filled up. But seriously, don't come here for good pizza.

Allison V.

Yelp
There was a host stand and a walk-up cashier for takeout orders. They do not sell pizza by the slice (which they should and would be able to do, considering there is a buffet station). The wait at the takeout cashier was 15 minutes. You must be seated for the buffet. I had to repeat myself three times to the cashier, gave him money, he walked over to a register across the aisle to get me change. I had to ask for my receipt. He said to come back in 20 minutes, so I ran across the way to the grocery store, ran to my car, and returned 13 minutes later. I waited for 5 minutes before he saw me and said "Oh, I called you 10 minutes ago." The pizza was fine, but NOT worth the wait, the hassle of dealing with this cashier, or the $13 price tag for a 7" pizza. This place would not survive if it were an independent business outside the park. Will not return.

Kaitlin G.

Yelp
Oh my gosh, don't go here. Spend an extra $10 at the lodge restaurant because it's worth it. The service here was so slow and they didn't even get my order right. And when I mean slow I mean slllooowwwww. Wait 15 minutes to order and then wait over 40 minute for your food. They make people wait to be seated even though there are enough tables for them. They only do it because they don't have many servers, only three. Honestly go to the lodge. The food was good but I wouldn't go back and wait 40 minutes again.

Maureen W.

Yelp
I don't think I will stop here again. Yes, they will be closing in a week or so, but still even what they offered lacked quality. They were out of the items that were favorites, the ones we wanted for lunch, so I went to the buffet. The pizza had been sitting there way too long, and the cheese had taken on that sticky, icky quaiity. I didn't like the pizza crust, but had the pizzas been fresh out of the oven, they might have been mediocre. I couldn't touch the lettuce that looked like it had been sitting out for days. The pasta dishes were dried out. The food was really terrible.

Brianna D.

Yelp
Eat somewhere else if you can. This is a typical tourist trap. While it's in a convenient location, it's overpriced and serves below average food. We had pizza. The toppings were skimpy. The service was slow. All of the tables around us experienced the same thing.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Not many options in the park but I might forgo eating at all if I had to do it over again. We had a pizza and some pasta. The pasta was cold when we got it. The pizza was sub par. Tasted like it just had a can of Alfredo dumped on it with lots of cheap cheese.

Clifford W.

Yelp
Tired of eating Lake McDonald lodge food which was pricey for the quality of the food. Asked around park staff where else that is close to eat. Well this place had lower prices and burgers, pizza, salad, and beer. Burger was average patty. Pizza was the best choice here. As we entered, there was enough park rangers and park staff just finishing their lunch break that we thought a meeting had just concluded. So this must be the 'go to' place to eat rather than the more expensive lodge food.

trish a.

Yelp
We ate here on night because they had gluten free pizza. It was walking distance from our cabin. The menu had a few items buffalo burger, pasta and pizza, soup and salad. The pizza tasted like frozen pizza. Regular was ok. 7 inch personal is tiny. Gf pizza comes one size 10 inch. Atmosphere and service is nice.

Diane C.

Yelp
jammer joe's across the street was THE best. the menu was even better; still not a whole lot of options. but holy cow, the staff was terrific! friendly, smiling, interacted with us. so different from the folks working the lake mcdonald dining room and lounge. we had an incident with one of the salads, and they were quick to comp our meal and even gave us a bowl of scrumptious mango sorbet as a treat. Tevflk was the best, Craige was also terrific. after that, we went back a couple times and enjoyed our selections of chicken wrap and burgers tremendously. a wonderful and delicious alternative to eating at lake mcdonald lodge.

Hallie T.

Yelp
amazing. wonderful place to take your family, absolutely beautiful scenery to take in. food is splendid, employees are extremely considerate! highly recommended.

Julie B.

Yelp
SKIP IT! We did lunch here one day and all wished we had not. The food was nothing special and a bit over priced. The service very slow but the wait staff did apologize for it - I'm giving them two stars instead of one for that part. There are so many other great places...don't waste your time and money on this one.

Brad F.

Yelp
If you visit the Lake McDonald Lodge and are thinking that heading up for a quick bite of pizza is a good idea, think again. Service is soooo sloooo. And the food is pretty poor too. Bottom Line - this restaurant needs new management!

Lou L.

Yelp
We were sat quickly, waitress was very attentive, and food came out hot, quickly, and was delicious. I got the pizza and my boyfriend got the burger. We both cleaned our plates.

Lee A.

Yelp
Was a great place to wrap up a day of touring the park. Service was fine. Menu items have locally sourced ingredients. Loved the pizza crust and the bison sausage. The Huckleberry soda was very refreshing... and tasty too.

Maggie S.

Yelp
Stopped by here for something to eat after a long day of hiking. The pizza was average, pretty greasy and loaded with too much sauce and cheese, and the floors and tables were sticky and unpleasant. Our waitress was friendly, but the food took quite a long time, especially for a group of hungry hikers like us. Disappointed by the quality of this restaurant, especially given the lovely surroundings of Lake McDonald and the Lodge.

Tom R.

Yelp
This place was great! The first time, we stopped in just 10 minutes before closing time and asked if they could still serve us. They said yes, with a smile, and did so, with a smile. Then the food was excellent. Even my picky children loved it. Then we went back two days later, and -- it wasn't a fluke, all was good again. The bison sausage was excellent. Most memorable, every member of the staff was extremely welcoming and polite. They must have a good training program for young staff.

Ben V.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my fiance. We missed the lunch buffet by a few minutes so I got the gunsight and she got the jammer both with fries. The bbq pulled pork with pepperjack was good and the fries were good. She got the turkey burger with toppings and said it was good, she wouldnt let me taste it. We then had the lava cake with huckleberry icecream and that was very good as well.
