Design-Hotel JAMS (Munich, Bavaria) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You certainly can’t accuse Jams Music Hotel Munich of going halfway with its theme. Munich was at the forefront of the electronic-music revolution that began in the Seventies, and Jams is dedicated not only to this history, but to rock and roll in general — every corner of the hotel is filled with vinyl LPs, music-inspired artwork, and illustrated portraits of performers. The dedication to music is so thorough that you could almost overlook the fact that, underneath it all, Jams is simply an extremely stylish boutique hotel, and one with more than its fair share of high-end comforts." - Tablet Hotels

I and my wife had a three-night stay at JAMS in the beginning of November, and we had an absolutely lovely time. This charming hotel honestly has it all for a unique and budget stay in Munich.||Let's talk about the location first. Not only is it a few minutes' walk from an S-Bahn connection to the airport, city centre and central station, but there's a tram stop literally around the corner from the front door. Apart from the connectivity, the area around the hotel is also well worth exploring, with a vibrant cultural scene.||The hotel itself is delightful. The music theming is consistent throughout the space, without ever becoming over the top and kitschy, with well-chosen, pleasant colours and custom art. The room, likewise, was lovely. While not overly large, it was more sizable than expected, and used the space well. The bed was large and comfortable, and with a padded stool, large desk, and even cushioned window seat, overlooking the city.||We also appreciated the vinyl player in the room. With a library of music in the lobby (with music ranging from classic rock, pop, and jazz through to classical and more besides), we could casually bring vinyls up to the room to listen to at the end of a long day wandering the city.||The breakfast, also, was very good. It's got a small selection of mostly local spreads, along with good bread and a nice selection of drinks, and the staff was very helpful, offering to make scrambled eggs or omelets if asked.||The staff in general was delightful. Helpful, personable and welcoming, and always ready to help out whenever we needed anything. ||All in all, and with a very good price point, JAMS is definitely a place we'll return to when our travels take us back to Munich.

We stayed at the JAMS Hotel Munich from Thursday to Friday, and our stay was absolutely fantastic! 🌟 🏙️ The location is very central, and the room was modern, clean, and super cozy. A big thank you to Marco, the reception manager – he was incredibly friendly and helpful. When we asked about the amazing scent throughout the hotel, he even sold us the signature fragrance with diffuser sticks – and thanks to the manager as well for the lovely extra gift! 🎁 🍹 The bartender was amazing and made us fantastic Piña Coladas. 🥐 The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and varied. ✨ The atmosphere throughout the hotel is truly unique – stylish, modern, yet warm and welcoming. All the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful two-day stay, and we can absolutely recommend this hotel. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

This was by far the most unprofessional interaction with a hotel I have ever encountered. Upon our arrival we realised the room was completely cold and asked the reception about it. The receptionist came and showed us how to "turn the heating on" since apparently it was our fault. After 30 minutes of cold and questions he admitted the heating system was broken down and our room was "part of a few rooms" which had no heating. The solution was a portable air heater (I'm wondering if the owner or staff would stay in a room like this in December Munich weather). After several hours of trying to make them understand the very obvious issue their final reply was "you can leave the hotel if you don't like it, the cold isn't objective-some people like it". Must be some kind of humour we're not familiar with. After contacting Booking since the reservation was made through the platform, the customer support tried to reach the hotel to find out what happened and they NEVER REPLIED. This says everything about the (lack of) ethics and professionalism in this hotel. Apart from that everything else was just mediocre in the room. Leaking tap in the bathroom, moldy-smelling shower and dirty walls. All of which would go unnoticed if they didn't treat us like small children who can be tricked and cheated on. Problems arise, everywhere, to anyone. What is unacceptable is denying them, attempting to mislead guests, and responding with dismissiveness instead of accountability. This stay demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism and ethics from the hotel management.

I was sharing a room with a friend for 3 nights. When I got to the hotel I realized that I needed an additional night before flying back home to Canada. The reception clerk, Maggie, was helpful but said that they were fully booked for the additional night that I needed. Each time I came into the hotel, when she was on shift, she said to me "nothing yet, but I'll keep checking." On the morning when we were supposed to check out she said to me "good news, there has been a cancellation, do you want the room?" Yes was my answer. She was also very helpful in renting me a bike for the day so I could do a bit of a ride to explore more of the city. Unfortunately she was not on duty when I was ready to check out the next day so I did not get to thank her in person. In here place was Marco. Marco was most helpful in directing me to the train to get to the airport. We also had a good, but too brief, discussion about football and the fact that a Munich legend, Thomas Muller, is now playing for my team, the Vancouver Whitecaps. Thanks to both Maggie and Marco, you made me feel at home in Munich. Jim S

We had a really BAD stay there! There was NO HEATING for several days (I include Photos) and the management was lying to us that they are going to fix it. Finally after several hours of protests they end up giving us a small portable heater. Outside temperatures were like -4 to 0 c. Really poor amenities in the room. Also sometimes the elevator was not working !!!!(video attached) We are visiting Munich every year but this was by far the worst hotel experience. P.S go check the bad reviews on booking.com : the hotel has no cooling or heating system years now🤣

We travel a lot, Germany was not necessarily the easiest to find small properties with reasonable prices. Many businesses had intentionally inflated their rates because of Oktoberfest. As fun and festive Oktoberfest is to experience, the event is located in a large outside space that you need to find your way to, and navigate through thousands of festival goers and probably get discouraged from paying for overpriced food and beer, especially when it’s next to impossible to enter a bier garten. Despite all that, Design-Hotel JAMS was a property worth the time researching. Barely a 10 walk from the subway, barely a 15 minute walk to Altstadt… the hotel sits on an arm of a circle that you can walk an entire 360 degrees and back to the hotel with endless things to admire, appreciate, dine, and enjoy and realize you may not even need transportation if you take your time to stroll through this historic beautiful part of the city. The hotel was all around cute, clean, and the staff “uber” friendly as well as friendly. The quality put into the hotel from the rooms to the restaurant is mentally satisfying which is why we prefer to research boutique hotels versus large properties where we find we are just another reservation. The breakfast was hand crafted from the endless coffee options, to the cheeses, cured meats, breads, and individually made omelettes. If we find our way ever back to Munich, JAMS is a hotel we’d be happy to spend time at again. Thank you team at JAMS!

Amazing location, walking (20 min) to the main touristic points yet in a quiet street. Train station in 5 min away. Several restaurants around it, and Wiener Platz that is very pleasant. But the best part was the staff. They make you feel at home, very pleasant and accommodating, every one of them. Special thanks to Tonisha who went above and beyond to make feel welcomed, great sense of hospitality. Will return for sure!

Lovely hotel is great location in Munich. Music theme across the whole hotel. Collect some vinyl records from reception (set out like a record shop) and play them on the turntable in your room. The rooms are very spacious and clean and cocktails very nice in the bar. The breakfast was very nice.
