My husband and I have just enjoyed a three night stay here. Overall, we rate the experience and concept of the hotel highly. Starting with the location being a stone's throw from the Museumplein, with the wealth of world class museums, and the Vondelpark or use the tram stop at the end of the road, complementary bikes or just strolling to get further afield. We were also able to walk to a range of great bars, restaurants and a brilliant food hall each evening. The free availability of drinks and snacks, along with a great breakfast really suited us. We also enjoyed relaxing on the communal areas in the late afternoon. We found the staff friendly and helpful. There were a couple of negatives. Firstly, the ventilation system was pretty noisy (though this was intermittent), to the point we both needed to sleep with ear plugs in. We also would've appreciated our room supplies being restocked and herbal tea being available. However, overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return. Our top tip is taking the free ferry over to the fab Straat street art museum.

We had a perfect stay at Jan Luyken during our trip to Amsterdam! The location is excellent, very central and close to great restaurants, shops, and main attractions. The hotel’s facilities were great, and we especially loved the afternoon snacks and the happy hour with a full selection of drinks included. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive, always willing to help with anything we needed. A special mention to Bernardo, the Brazilian staff member, who was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was a bit small, with limited space to move around and open our suitcases, but it still worked fine for the duration of our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!

We loved our stay. There were so many elements that made it so good. Wonderful staff, a friendly and warm atmosphere, ideal breakfast arrangements, included drinks, and a really nice room. And then, there was the great proximity to the museums and for us, the Concertgebouw which was a mere six minute walk.

I stayed at Hotel Jay Luken for three nights and had a fantastic experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the service felt warm from the start. We even used the laundry service – one bag per room included – and it worked perfectly, which was such a thoughtful extra. The room itself was excellent: super clean, with a spotless bathroom and an enormous, incredibly comfortable bed that made it hard to get up in the morning. Everything felt modern, tidy, and well maintained. The breakfast was incredible: varied, fresh, and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Another amazing perk was the access to complimentary drinks (soft drinks, juices, wine, coffee, and tea) as well as snacks available throughout the day – such a nice touch that made it feel homely and relaxed. The hotel also provides bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis, which we found super convenient and fun to explore the city. The location is excellent: the neighborhood is very quiet and pleasant, so you can rest well, yet it’s well connected. A direct bus from the airport dropped me a block away, and the metro easily connected me to the train station and the city center. Overall, Jay Luken strikes the perfect balance between comfort, convenience, and thoughtful details. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you want to stay slightly outside the busiest areas while still being well connected to everything Amsterdam has to offer.

Staying at Jan Luyken Amsterdam is a genuinely distinctive experience. With great location the heritage-rich, slightly rustic character fits the city’s atmosphere perfectly, and the service holds up just as well. With complimentary snacks and drinks included in a cosy setting you might just decide to stay indoors to enjoy with friends/family. What stood out most was how seriously the staff and management take guest satisfaction — it’s clear they actually care. If something isn’t right, just tell them. They’ll sort it out.

Highly recommend—will be staying here again in the future. My bf and I visited for 4/5 nights in the fall, and the street was covered in yellow leaves. So beautiful. The road and area is quiet, while in close proximity to several museums. It’s easy to get to the heart of downtown / canals, but this way, you avoid the worst of the touristy areas and have some peace. In terms of the hotel itself, the hospitality was 5 stars. We got there early in the morning super jet lagged, and they held our bags and the lovely young woman spoke with us for at least 15-20 minutes ringing off recommendations and getting to know us. The breakfast is excellent. Coming from the US, the ingredients are so much better/fresher. I had a stomach ache coming in, and their overnight oats (which I ate every day) helped to assuage it. I love the feeling they’ve chosen with this hotel where they make it homey yet still stylish. You can lounge in the living room after a long day of sightseeing and pour yourself a glass of wine (no charge). The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. We visited Bruges and Paris as well, and this was by far our favorite hotel. Truly amazing stay.

Quite possibly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in! So quaint and so cute. Its location is wonderful. It’s especially beautiful and airy during the day and then moody in the evening. The fact that they have drinks and snacks out all day was a highlight! We ate breakfast there and then would leave for the day to explore Amsterdam. Then we would come back for a little happy hour on the outdoor patio and it was just perfect! We took advantage of the free bikes they offered to ride around as well. We didn’t make use of the gym but it was nice and clean. The rooms were comfy and cozy. I can go on and on about this place. Highly, highly recommend!

Fabulous stay!! I came to stay with my pet and we had a perfect time. The staff were lovely and attentive (particularly the daytime staff who checked me in, went above and beyond to be helpful!). The lobby and common areas were lovely, the room was perfect for my needs (love that they have cozy single rooms), and the location on such a lovely tree lined street was perfect. Everything was so comfortable - and I loved all the included drinks and snacks! Breakfast was also wonderful. I would absolutely stay again!

Yelp
How future, a room key on your phone. Guests have access to the kitchen and library in these 3 connected mansions. Help yourself 24-7 at breakfast and snacks all day including wine and beer, covered in the pricey rate. Rooms are pretty and nicely equipped. The small lift is a good alternative to the steep narrow staircase.

Yelp
Very nice little hotel. They have bicycles for rent which is definitely the best way to get around. It's just a quick ride or walk over to the Canal area. The rooms are very clean and decently appointed, if I had one complaint it's that the shower head is right in the center of a very narrow bathtub pointed outward and extremely uncomfortable for showering. I still can't wrap my mind around why it was designed this way, it makes no sense. Otherwise, a very nice place at a reasonable price in a very good area with very nice staff.

Yelp
Love this quaint hotel located just off the "Rodeo Drive" of Amsterdam. In fact l, the hotel backs L Vuitton! Great lounge and breakfast in the AM. The "Superior" rooms are the bomb and have a ton of space. The staff is wonderful and always willing to go the extra mile!

Yelp
The property has a great location, one block away to the Tram and next to shops and walking distance to museums, food, etc. It is a small property, extremely small room and bathroom, with basic ammenities. If you don't mind the size, it is a great place to stay.

Yelp
This is a great little hotel in a really nice part of the city. The Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior stores are just behind the hotel on the next street as well as the huge IAMSTERDAM sign is about a block an half away. It's really quiet, so if you are not looking for a rowdy area, this is the Hotel I would highly recommend!

Yelp
The hotel location: Museum district, and right by the high end stores (Chanel, Vuitton, etc...) A quick walk to all other areas, perfectly situated. The hotel lobby: Modern/ Rustic furniture. Very clean. Well maintained. Nice festive Christmas tree. The hotel staff: Very friendly and accommodating. They're helpful, and smiley and have free Olliebollen pastries every morning on the front desk counter. The hotel bar staff is also very friendly. When we got back on New Years Eve and were starving from not having had any dinner, even tho the kitchen was closed, the bartender was nice enough to make us fried cheese sticks (yum!) The hotel room: 3 of us made for a nice squeeze. Bathroom had plenty of space for 3 girls to share, hair/makeup. The elevator: I think it's cute. You can see the walls moving, so theres no actual elevator door. It's a Euro thing I think. The only negative thing? They charge 9 euros for internet/wi - fi, PER NIGHT., PER USER. I feel that is rather pricey. Either charge it, per night per room, or dont charge so much.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel in the Museum Quarter. The location couldn't be better less than 5 minutes walk to the Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum and MOCO. Plenty of high end shopping on the main street, plus an Albert Heijn supermarket and Rijksmuseum Tram station all within a couple of minutes walk. Rooms are a little sparse but very comfortable, front desk is 24 hours, great bargain for the price and bookable through hotels.com

Yelp
This was the perfect hotel for our first stay in Amsterdam. It is close to high end shopping; close to museums; within walking distance of everything else. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this as a place yo stay. We loved it!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights during our Euro trip and overall we liked it. It is not in the heart of downtown but in the museum district. If you like to party, it's about 20 minutes away from downtown. Overall it was definitely a comfortable place to stay. If you are a couple, make sure to ask for a queen bed. We ended up staying in two twin beds joined together. Not a huge issue, considering we only stayed for two nights. We found the staff to be polite, but very detached. They won't go the extra mile to make your stay any more enjoyable.

Yelp
Sweet hotel very close to the museum district. Very small rooms, which may be normal here, but took some adjustment. Only issue was road construction right outside each morning. Drilling and dirty. We had not been told about this prior to the trip.
