Jane Davidson is my favourite Independent boutique and always my first choice when I want to treat myself to something really lovely to wear. The shop is beautiful, warm and welcoming and the lovely team there are happy to let you browse in peace or assist as your Personal Shopper, whatever you prefer. The stock is a fabulous mix of carefully curated designers at a variety of price points and styles, from smart comfy casual wear to floor length gowns. Shopping here is shopping as it should be, a real pleasure.

Jane Davidson is the go to place for me for any fashion.fix, whether I am going to a black tie event/wedding etc (not much of that lately) or I am looking for something more casual. Not only are there the latest trends and class pieces, the service is second to none. They know everything there is to need about body shapes, fashion and the staff take the time to ensure you get the best piece for you....and then you leave feeling wonderful! What more could you want for a fashion experience?

I’ve shopped & sourced the hottest international clothing & accessories designers and new brands from Jane Davidson since 2003, and had heard of it before then. Everything I buy lasts and is an investment, the quality and customer service is completely flawless, & staff are next level. They really style according to what suits, it’s an oasis of calm in a Georgian townhouse destination for any discerning customer.

I have shopped at Jane Davidson for 15 years! The staff are so friendly and efficient. I totally trust them to help me only buy what works for me. They are always one step ahead of other shops when it comes to finding the new designers. The staff have been amazing during lockdown - so helpful over the phone, sending lots of photos and fast and efficient deliveries. This is the only place I would shop in Edinburgh.

There are few things I am looking forward to more than popping into to Jane Davidson on Thistle Street, Edinburgh. The staff are welcoming and make you feel immediately happy and at ease. Whether its new jeans you're after, the perfect outfit, accessories, or cutting edge, the offering is extensive, but beautifully curated. I've just been watching Sarah Murray's Jane Davidson 'What to wear now' latest video blog on YouTube, these have kept many of my friends and I going through Lockdown, and I still find myself dipping back in to them for Style direction. Pragmatic focus on multi-functional investment pieces rather than non Eco friendly disposable fashion, and honest styling advice ensure you walk away feeling like a million dollars, and walk right back for their excellent customer service!

If you are looking for a great boutique selling designer clothes, look no further than Jane Davidson! Situated on Thistle Street, Jane Davidson is right in the heart of the New Town Edinburgh and is just around the corner from the main shopping street, Princes Street, and so it is a convenient place to reach. Jane Davidson sells a beautiful selection of trousers, skirts, tops, knitwear, jackets and jeans. I have been into this store once a few months ago with a friend who was looking for a decent pair of jeans, and I was really amazed at the range of stock which they have. Jane Davidson stocks a wide selection of designers including Halston, Diane Von Furstenberg, J Brand Jeans, La Perla, Missoni and Lulu Guinness. The clothes are all of an excellent quality, and so they are pretty pricey, with dresses costing around £400. There are frequently sales going on this store which is a great opportunity to buy a bargain.

Jane Davidson was unique in Edinburgh for its independent nature and stocking of unusual, designer brand names for a good long while before Edinburgh advanced its designer retail with Multrees Walk and Harvey Nichols. The clothing store recently won a fashion award recognising its redeeming boutique qualities, and it deserves this accolade for its commitment to fine designer sourcing. Quality designer garments come at a price, so don't expect to leave here weighed down by shopping bags if you're on any sort of normal salary, but you will probably depart the shop with one, really high quality piece, which is better than a ton of cheap goods that will last all of two seconds. Diane Von Furstenburg, Herve Leger, Red Valentino, Lulu Guinness and M Missoni drape their delightful features alongside a host of other labels. Last time I visited the shop, my eyes were hypnotised by a silver, sequined dress upstairs, crafted by an Australian designer, obviously to exist purely so that people who are poor at saving money, like me, could marvel at its beauty, then have their heart broken by the price tag.

Until Harvey Nicks arrived on the scene in Edinburgh, there were few places in which one could buy bona fide designer labels - Jane Davidson's boutique on Thistle Street was one of those few places. Stocking labels like Diane Von Furstenburg (she of wrap dress fame) and Missoni, this small shop was a favourite haunt of rich, fashion conscious shoppers. It is testament to the loyalty of its customers, and the quality of the stock and service, that this place has survived. If further affirmation is needed that this place is rather good, Vogue have voted it one of their best boutiques 2010 - and if it's good enough for Vogue.... it's too expensive for me (I can but dream).

Jane Davidson boutique won the coveted Vogue award for one of the best boutique's this year, which makes Jane Davidson incredibly in demand. Apparently, the Halston dress is 'the' dress to be seen in this summer, even Carrie from Sex and the City wears one in the new film, so I went to have a look at these beauties. They are gorgeous and they even have the 'Carrie dress', the Halston dress is £225, which I didn't actually think was too bad for such a must have item! Halston seems to be a very popular feature in here, with loads of gorgeous gowns begging for me to buy them. Damn you, skintness! Lovely wee shop which is a pleasure to browse in, even if you aren't buying anything.
