Food absolutely amazing! Everything is gluten free! Lovely seating area, friendly staff! 100 percent recommend. It was very popular ❤️

Google
Excellent! Visiting from a country that is not very friendly with gluten free and celiac disease. You cannot tell the difference from non-GF pastries. They are amazing! And the team is very friendly. We were able to get to know the history of the bakery and how committed they are to making safe and quality gf products. Must visit if celiac!

I only ordered a ham & cheese croissant and coffee. It was tasty. I sat at the back which has 16 covers. There's always a queue here so expect to wait. They had a good selection of gluten free sweet & savoury breads, pastries and cakes/sweets. They also had panetonnes and larger cakes and take advance orders. It apparently is a business that dates back to 1930 and a long history of baking breads and cakes gluten-free. I would definitely come back to try more of their products.

Google
The most amazing GF bakery! I don’t know how they get their pastries to be so flaky. Everything is delicious and I tried a lot of items over the 5 days we were in Barcelona. A must if you are GF!

Google
Every time I visit this small gluten-free bakery, I can’t control myself and end up buying lots of treats! Gluten-free products are usually more expensive . The staff is always busy but very kind. I highly recommend trying their Melindros —they’re amazing! Whether you follow a gluten-free diet or not, you must try their Croissant Ametlla and Cinnamon Roll. The best part? Their gluten-free goodies leave you feeling light and inflammation-free. Highly recommended!

Google
This is the best gluten-free pastry shop in Barcelona offering a very good selection of sweet and savory options. The ambience is very pleasant and the staff helpful and pleasant. I have been a client for years often shopping for books nearby. I highly recommend.

Google
Croissants were dry, almost like bread. Prices are not bad, but surly other places offer better prices We don't know spanish, but we can sense that the waitress made fun of us as we did not order drinks, as if it was a law !!!

Yelp
Jansana is a 100% gluten-free bakery based in Barcelona, I was excited to try this place after hearing great things from fellow coeliacs and Yelpers, but my experience left a lot to be desired, I'm not sure if they were having a bad day, but my experience wasn't up to scratch. I spent a few minutes looking at the menu before realising it didn't match what was displayed on the counter, the staff member then told me that they don't have the menu on the board during summer - which seemed rather odd. She talked through what they had, but she spoke so fast, I just got lost. While I appreciated that she could communicate in English, I still felt lost. I ended up going for the ham and cheese empanada, it was reheated in the microwave at the back of the store. I did find it strange how the kitchen/reheating area was not at the front, so the staff member had to walk down the restaurant, through the seating area, and then to their staff area, surely to have it all in one place would make it easier for them and service quicker? The food was just so dry, that I felt like I needed a drink in order to digest it, the portion of ham and cheese also seemed to be light, and there was a lot of room in the pastry, for more and it didn't taste good at all. The pricing for what it was, was also a little high. I probably ended up leaving half of it. There are a lot of improvements I'd make mainly having a menu guests can read at their leisure to explain the products, making it clear, and working on the actual quality. 2*

Yelp
We ate breakfast here for the 5 days we were in Barcelona. GF Heaven, every item we tried made us believe that we were eating non GF, WOW. Just stop by, you won't believe everything is GF & the staff is so kind & friendly.

Yelp
My partner can't have gluten, and was absolutely thrilled to find this bakery in Barcelona. We went to Paris after this and had gluten free baguettes there, but he said that the baguette from here blew those out of the water. The only negative in our opinion was that the ambience left a little bit to be desired. The place was laid out in a way that made it feel very cramped, and it was uncomfortably warm.

Yelp
Found this GF bakery after doing a search on google and after reading the reviews i just had to drop in. I asked for their best desert and the gave me a Tiramisu, it was incredible . I took a small baguette to go and was also very impressed, it was crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. I. Will definitely be back when I'm in town.

Yelp
AMAZING gluten free pastries! The best gluten free bakery I have been too in Europe! It does not taste like the usual heaviness a lot of gluten free pastries have and it is not bland baked goods either. Super flavorful, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a gluten free pastry.

Yelp
Best gluten free bakery ever visited, delicious food, very friendly and helpful staff

Yelp
If you need to be gluten-free (or not!), this is the most incredible bakery in the world. The pastries are to die for! I will be going back there this year and I'm from California!

Yelp
The best, my most favorite spot in the world for gluten free food!!! Coffee is amazing! They are a gf paradise for us unlucky ones with celiac! Service, food, decor all great! I tired pastries and their homemade bread ALL GOOD! Go, go, go!!
google avatar

Stacy P.

Yelp
Gluten Free- Yes! It's a dedicated facility Casein Free- Verify Jansana was a little slice of heaven for this Celiac traveling in Barcelona. Highlights: + This small little shop is packed full of sweet and flavorful items , that make it difficult to choose from + Prices are extremely fair and easy to spend under 10€. + Menu has a symbol next each item if the contains lactose, + There is a limited number of seating in the back. Signs are posted that you need to make your purchases prior to sitting down Tip: **When paying cash, you actually feed it into the machine in front of the register

Yelp
GF Baguette was on point, tastes great warm and with butter. Stayed fresh enough for me to eat for 3 days.

Yelp
What a treasure to find! The chocolate croissant was exquisite and so yummy. The spinach empanada was savory and sweet with some delicious cheese that Carried a tangy bite to it. I got two of the chocolate covered doughnuts and my grandson gobbled it down!! If you're in Barcelona this place is a must for gluten free bakery items!

Yelp
OMG I just died and went to GF heaven. Everything in here is GF (and a lot of it is also lactose free) and absolutely delicious. We got a a bag full of pastries and bread because everything looked so good. The Bretzel, which is a pretzel shaped pastry coated in icing and topped with almonds, was a perfect breakfast treat with coffee, as was the croissant xocolata, with its flaky buttery crust that was perfectly complemented by the dark chocolate. We also bought the empanada bacó i frontage and and pollastre and enjoyed them for lunch. The crust was flaky and the filling was plentiful and delicious. The real standout though was the bread. We could not believe it was GF. We bought a normal baguette and an olive loaf and both had wonderful crispy crust with a bit of chew and s soft fluffy interior. It is literally the best GF bread I have ever had and if they didn't have signs everywhere saying they are 100% Gf I would have been nervous. We enjoyed our bread as a sandwich one night and then had the olive loaf with a charcuterie board we made back at our AirBnB. There was s line to get in but it went quickly, and the interior was very stylish. I will definitely be going back the next time I am in Barcelona.

Yelp
Was in Barcelona and decided to try Jansana as I am celiac. It is AMAZING!!! If the bread did not come from there I would think the gluten free label was fake!!!

Yelp
Delicious!! Try the quiches. Somewhat expensive but gluten free dishes usually cost more anyway.
google avatar

Jared H.

Yelp
Wonderful gluten free dessert. Staff was a little unfriendly that may have been due to the riots that week. But food was great.

Yelp
This is one of the best hidden gems of Barcelona and probably one of the top GF bakeries I have been to Worldwide. It compares to Celicio in Madrid in terms of variety even though it is a much smaller establishment. Jansana carries a wide variety of baked good and sweets: Pastries including many ones that are specific to Spanish regions. Muffins, quiches, croissants, danishes. They also have a variety of cakes and desserts like Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Sacher, Puff pastries to name a few. On top of that they bake their own bread, have a variate to chocolates and biscotti as well! They also make sandwiches. What I love about this place (and we tasted almost everything) is that their baked goods taste just like the non-GF versions. The croissants and danishes are flaky and I've never seen that in a GF dough! They have a small seating area and a variety of beverages to have with your sweet or savory snack. The ambience is very nice and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended for celiacs and non-celiacs alike!

Yelp
The pastries are unbelievable, super fresh and super delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The selection is also out of this world. The shop is small so make sure to keep an eye out so you don't miss it.

Yelp
The range of gluten-free bakeries is amazing. The waiters and waitresses are extremely helpful and caring. As a celiac this is a place that will make you feel normal and special at the same time. A must go for celiacs in Barcelon

Yelp
Was so pleased to find this!!!! Cute clean environment, lots of variety! I got mixed macaroons and could hardly stop devouring them all at once! Bravo!

Yelp
This place saved me when in Barcelona. Would highly recommend especially if gluten free.

Yelp
I've never had such a great gluten-free experience in my life. I always loved baked goods until I had to stop having gluten. Most places I've ever been to have 1 choice of gluten free cake, or those pre packaged goods that taste the same everywhere. Jansana is a beautiful place, lovely waitresses that managed to get our poor Spanish accent and speak English. The food is gorgeous! It's beautiful to look at, and it tastes divine. Even my non gluten-free boyfriend was very surprised and pleased with the quality of the cakes! I seriously intend to go back there soon and hopefully bring lots of cakes with me back home! It's a gluten-free heaven!

Yelp
A must stop for gluten-free foodies. I had forgotten how amazing baked goods can be when done right... And now I will be craving it until I visit Barcelona again! Staff were friendly (English and Spanish speaking) and make everyone feel welcome. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Not all the gluten free delicacies were diary free, which was a bummer, but they had enough sweetly crunchy treats that I consumed more carbs in one tasting and gained more weight in one breakfast than I have in months of my low carb GF DF routine. Final concensus? WORTH IT! And the place is so darn cute and beautiful - just offer more diary free varieties. Otherwise this Patisserie was a GLUTEN FREE Gem!!!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Great variety of gluten-free breads and sweets, including a number of gf/dairy-free options. Try the olive rolls and the dairy-free chocolate donut-like pastry.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Whoa! Out of this world. I didn't think I'd ever be able to have things like profiteroles or real donuts again but this place has it figured out. Incredible selection, super friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. Plus the place is great for eating in and there's wifi which is always nice. Fantastic all around! We'll be coming back :-)

Yelp
Amazing hidden gem near our hotel that was a life saver for me. Being nearly vegetarian (chicken only + GF) it was hard to come across eateries that accommodated my diet. I stocked up on these the last evening I was in Barcelona. They're amazing, packed wth full flavor just like their non-GF counterparts as well its texture (e.g. don't fall apart in hands like other GF baked goods). Highly recommend!!

Yelp
This place is delicious. My daughter and I have been visiting once a week for the three months we have lived in Spain. The large loaves are not my favorite, but the panets are all great. We particularly love the olive, onion, and walnut flavors. Also, the eclairs are TO DIE FOR. The employees are super nice. It's such a treat to be able to visit a 100% gluten free store! I highly recommend.

Yelp
This place IS EVERYTHING. If you have celiac disease, or for some other reason don't eat gluten, you must come here. I never thought I'd get to eat palmeras again, or have profiteroles, but they did it! They are also incredibly nice and the coffee is delish. I was in town for 4.5 days and came here 4 times and regret not making it 5 times! Until next time! Merci!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Jansana is a magical place. I was so delighted to discover this gluten free bakery, and stopped by twice during our 3 days in Barcelona, making sure to stock up before our flight home, in case the airline food didn't accommodate our GF needs. Quick summary of what we tasted: The chocolate hazelnut bread is incredible--a yummy nod to nutella in bread form; the mini quiches made the perfect savory breakfast; the donuts a rare find for celiacs; the ciabatta was light and airy and a great pairing for the local cheeses; and the chocolate croissants were downright life changing. I didn't know croissants could be made GF, but these rival any gluten-y ones I used to have. Jansana is a must for any GF sweet-tooths out there.

Yelp
Such a treat for gluten free visitors to Barcelona! My kids' eyes got so big when they saw the beautiful displays of pastries, including several kinds of donuts. I was most excited by all the puff pastry, which is so hard to find gluten free, including small rolled croissant and apple or pear tarts. Some of their pastries are dairy free as well, although I was surprised to see them not using butter in some of the puff pastry. I probably would have tried a few more of those if they had had dairy in them. I thought the Xuxo (traditional Catalan) pastry was the best and most similar to the real thing. The croissant were tasty and flaky but not chewy. My kids enjoyed the donuts and the sweet rolls. The coffee is okay but not great, although you'll do better if you order a cortado. My kids had wonderful fresh-squeezed orange juice. Prices are reasonable too, especially compared to gluten free pastries in other places like NYC.
