So good!! Took a last minute trip to Amsterdam for a 3-day weekend. On my last night, I was on Google looking for a worthwhile place to have dinner, and came across Jansz. Called to book dinner for that night, for 1.. didn't expect them to accommodate, but surely they did, at the kitchen counter looking at the open kitchen.
I got the Lobster Risotto and am so please. Creamy, great portion of risotto, could have been a tad more lobster.. but it's understandable :) I also ordered a side of sautéed spinach, which was steamed in garlic and was so so good! Definitely recommend adding a veggie to the order.
I ordered the Chocolate Fondant, which was recommended by 3 different people that work here. Quote, "not like I don't like our Creme Brûlée, but you can get that anywhere". And oh my, he was right. So, so good!!! Get it!!
(Don't care as much about ambiance, the food was so good) -
But for the sake of this review.. yes. Very vibey, dim and candle lit. Right on the canal, in case you get a table by the window. I sat at the counter, looking into l the open kitchen, which I enjoyed (gave me something to do while solo dining).
Staff is super nice, and they work together, which I prefer versus when you get 1 waiter.. and if you want something, you have to wait for that single person..
Best restaurant I've been to in Amsterdam (not like I've been to many..). Definitely try to make it here for an amazing dinner, right on the canal. I'll be recommending to all of my friends, and will definitely come back again.
