Why you should visit the rivers in downtown KL - SilverKris

"A café housed in a converted hotel that attracts smartphone-wielding café hoppers with its photogenic interior—high ceilings, exposed brick walls and wooden detailing—alongside reliably good coffee." - Ronan O'Connell

First time at Jao Tim..made possible by my daughter Rajes.Christmas eve treat for us..table lamps lit up added pomp to the atmosphere. We were there to support and listen to Clinton Jerome Chua..our very own up and rising Malaysian born singer-songwriter who hails from Miri Sarawak. His songs from his latest album tribute to his dear mum who was part of his musical and singing journey that started from singing in the church choir. He was accompanied by Fadz on the guitar. We enjoyed the dining and music. The show ticket were priced RM120 /pax with 60 minutes of beautiful. Christmas rendition and it was certainly full house and sold out night

Heard rave reviews about this place hence I headed there; saw that it was Christmas night so I thought it would be fun! Price was about RM80-100? I paid RM86 that night, just for entry. Quite pricey but I wanted to do something different. It was quite a cozy space, probably fit only around 30pax? The singers were alright, but not what I expected. Also, I felt uncomfortable as it was getting a bit preachy halfway through, like I was at a sermon for a little bit as they were singing some church songs. On the flip side, the sound system is great and location is pretty central. Wish they would have expanded the food menu a bit more as they only offered sandwiches and rice bowl. Would come again for their renowned jazz nights instead!

It was my first visit to Jao Tim KL, and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall atmosphere. The place has a beautiful vintage charm — exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and warm lighting that makes you feel cozy the moment you step in. What makes Jao Tim stand out is that they even have live band performances during the day, which is quite rare for bars in KL. It’s not your typical nightclub vibe — more like a relaxing lounge where you can sip a drink, chat with friends, and enjoy quality live music. I also tried my very first cocktail here, the Red Carpet Treatment, and it was excellent. The cocktails are creative, well-balanced, and reasonably priced. Events here are diverse, some ticketed and some free, so there’s always something new to look forward to. Overall, Jao Tim is a great spot if you’re looking for a classy yet laid-back place in the heart of Petaling Street. Definitely worth following their social media for event updates!

An evening of entertainment and live musuc at Jao Tim. I had a mocktail and a bowl of soup and some chips, while listening to the live band and enjoying the relaxing time with family. Jao Tim’s menu offers rice bowls and sandwiches, simple and reasonably priced. There’s a small cover charge for the show but we must support our local music talents! Will come again for sure.

Had a great time listening to live music with Melissa Anne. Sound system was good enough and not to deafening even when seated right in front. The drinks were hit and miss but with the snacks it makes up for it. Do make reservations and get your tickets as walking in might not get you a spot in to enjoy the live music session.

Came here for a live RNB performance. I've always wanted to come to this establishment and I'm glad that I was finally able to catch a show. This venue has a nice stage for local artists, a good sound and lighting system plus patrons with the same vibes adds to the environment. I would recommend following their instagram page to see which artist or what kind of performance they're having each week so you can join in for a fun lounge experience. I would also like to give a special shout out to the sweet potato highball I've had, which remains one of my favourite variation of a highball as of yet.

No doubt one of the best live music bars. Excellent sound system, spot-on lighting, and some preserved elements from the old building add to the great vibe. One thing I’m hoping for is more finger food options on the menu.

We didn’t try food here since we went for live band / Jazz and ballad show. It was a nice atmosphere, amazing service and great quality cocktails. They make killer nigroni and my partner enjoyed their cognac.
