A breathtaking spot with some of the best panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. The white pagoda against the blue sky is stunning. The ocean breeze is incredibly refreshing. This pagoda offers a sense of absolute stillness and a great escape into nature and spirituality. The golden statues and the circular walkway provide a beautiful space for reflection. It’s a perfect place for photography and catching a sunset. Entry is free. Remember to dress modestly and remove your shoes and hats. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the Unawatuna area!

That's called " සාම චෛත්‍යය " Go, See, and worship. Different experience. Feel like, we are in Japanese Buddhist temple. Culture and different way of Worships. Very calm environment. Not only this place for worship but also this beautiful surrounding was a location for films as well. (Last shooting of 'Singham again (2025))

One of the most peaceful place located at the edge of the mountain, has a spectacular view of the ocean from the location, Surrounded with lush greens around. Great place for the photo lovers(Background covers Galle light house and the fort views) The atmosphere is calm quiet and relaxes the mind. The story of Buddha is explained in few words. If anyone planning for Galle or unawatuna, recommend to visit.

Absolutely breathtaking, stunning view of nature from the heights of pagoda. The trekking itself is steep for a couple of kilometres, so older people might find it a tad bit difficult but for that you can take a rented scooter or just take a slow walk enjoying the nature on your way to the pagoda. We had rented a foot bicycle but it became useless halfway given how steep the climb is, so we parked it a educational institution on our way and walked to the top of the hill. We didn't go to the jungle beach due to lack of time but it is very close by.

A beautiful and serene spot overlooking the Galle harbor. The white pagoda is impeccably maintained, and the 360-degree views of the ocean and Galle Fort are some of the best in the area. It’s very peaceful, especially if you catch the monks' evening chanting. It’s free to enter, but remember to dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) and be prepared to take your shoes off. Highly recommend visiting at sunset for the best photos!

Japanese Peace Pagoda – Rumassala is one of the most peaceful places we visited near Unawatuna. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, and perfect to relax your mind. The pagoda itself is beautiful, clean, and gives an amazing spiritual feeling. You can also walk around and enjoy stunning views of the ocean and jungle — especially during sunset. It’s a great spot for photography too.The pathway is a little uphill, but totally worth it once you reach the top. If you’re in Galle or Unawatuna, this is a must-visit place to enjoy peace, nature, and a breathtaking view.🧘🏻‍♂️💛🌅
