Unagi Yosakura

This restaurant keeps things simple with only two items on the menu – beef rice bowl and eel rice bowl – but sometimes simplicity makes the best statement. I tried the eel rice bowl this time and it was truly delicious. Both ways of enjoying it were equally impressive. The portion size is just right for one person, though those with a bigger appetite might find it a bit insufficient. Considering the quality and overall experience, I find the price reasonable. The environment is clean and cozy, and the service is excellent. I’ll definitely be back next time to try the beef rice bowl!

We went to Unagi Yosakura expecting a premium experience given the sleek presentation and high price point (about 500–800k VND). The reality didn’t match: the dining room was uncomfortably bright and windowless, with spotlights hitting our faces and table, nothing like the dim, intimate vibe shown on Google Maps. The room was also loud with little privacy. We could hear everyone around us. To be fair, the rice, unagi, and wagyu were delicious, but not enough to justify the overall experience. For a group of four, the table felt cramped, barely any space for shared plates or drinks, which made the meal awkward.

Super good service, sweet and friendly staff, we felt welcome, they gave good explanation during the meal. And when we were waiting for taxi downstairs they even brought us chairs. Wagyu was good quality, the Unagi had a lot of bones, bit difficult to eat. The atmosphere was also really good, loved the interior.

Japanese Unagi Yosakura Tried the eel and wagyu — while flavour is always subjective, you can definitely taste the freshness and quality of both the unagi and the wagyu. Everything felt well-prepared and premium. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and comfortable, and the drink we had was fresh and refreshing. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. If you’re looking for quality ingredients and a calm dining environment, I’d recommend this restaurant.

Food tastes authentic, delicious, and exactly like unagi set I had in Japan. You can ask for more toppings and dashi broth with no extra charge. Service was good. The restaurant however is small and simply decorated, tables are close to each other in a small room which can be loud during peak hour.

the unagi is good quality. might be overpriced but with the cutlery they r using, it is worthy. the service need to be upgraded with slower introduction to the know how of eating this typical dish, check up after order since it is ordered through app andthe drinks need a coaster. overall a must try

They served really nice unagi here. Menu option is a bit limited, but the quality is there. We ordered a regular one and a premium one. The waitress and waiter are very friendly.

One of the best places in Saigon for grilled unagi. The eel is tender, perfectly caramelized, and full of flavor. Staff are super polite and helpful. However, the atmosphere feels a bit heavy and the decoration is not so cozy. Still worth a visit if you love Japanese unagi.
