Southernmost point, here to tick another box. The view is pretty good, but there is no beach. You can walk on the rocky part towards the ocean for better view but just be careful. Cycling to this place is not difficult. The island is very nice as well. If have sufficient time, stay for a night. The

This is quite obviously a must-do when on the island and was my main reason for visiting. It’s not just the monument, you can walk around and enjoy the views of the ocean and the cliffs. This island is very peaceful so this place is no different.
However, it would be great if there was a vending machine as there was nowhere around to get water or drinks, which can be tiring after riding a bike!

Nice view point on Hateruma, i went there with a regular bike and it was quite the struggle, rent an electric bike if you are kit super fit. There is not much to see there, nobody around, and little shade, so go if, like me, you want to tick off the list this little record of being the southernmost place in Japan :)

A stone monument marks the southernmost point, with a dramatic view of the cliff and the ocean. It was windy but worth the visit. One hour is enough to walk around the place and take some pictures. It’s free to visit and there is a parking lot and a resting shed.

It’s the southern most point in Japan. 5 stars. Coral outcropping. No beach. Nice viewpoint with good parking. Incredible beautiful island.

Must visit spot in Hateruma.
You can walk, but carefully, towards the clift to spot the large hole/cave.

Beautiful view and a wide open space. The view and the monument are worth the trip but be aware there is not much else there or in the surrounding area.
