The location of the hotel is also great, making it very convenient to explore the surrounding area and its attractions. And let’s talk about the breakfast—it was amazing! A wide variety of choices, all delicious and freshly prepared. It was the perfect start to every day. A lovely little hotel located in the old area of Porto. Very clean and quiet room. The breakfasts were excellent with changing elements each day and freshly cooked to order eggs available every day. Lovely welcoming staff at all encounters. A lovely touch is that the excellent coffee machine/tea making facilities in the dining area are available to guests at all times, at no additional charge (in addition to the standard coffee making facilities in the room). Although apparently graded as a 3* hotel, there were many 4* hotel standard elements to our whole stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Jardim da Batalha Boutique Hotel by Shiadu, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. My ground floor room came with a charming little balcony, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment in the morning. The room was not only very clean and comfortable but also remarkably quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the reception staff who were incredibly nice and helpful throughout my stay. It was a lovely touch to find complimentary water and chocolates waiting for me in the room—a sweet welcome indeed! One tip for fellow travelers: the wine in the room is not complimentary, so do keep that in mind as it’s €10 at checkout. Breakfast at the hotel was quite enjoyable, with a variety of tasty options to choose from. The lady in the breakfast room was particularly lovely, going out of her way to assist me with train information, which was much appreciated. The location of the hotel is very convenient, being close to the station and central to many sights. While it is downhill to most attractions, the walk back is uphill, but thankfully, Ubers and Bolts are readily available for those who prefer not to tackle the incline. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Jardim da Batalha Boutique Hotel by Shiadu to anyone looking for a comfortable and tranquil stay in a prime location. The staff are wonderful, and every aspect of the hotel made my visit incredibly enjoyable.

We stopped in the garden room in Porto on the top floor. I honestly don’t understand how this is only a 3 star hotel. The rooms are very well presented and clean. We choose this place because others had commented on how quiet it was, as an autistic person I need quiet space to decompress and this hotel 100% meets that need. It is a very good location to walk to historic sites around the city with easy. The staff are very friendly and truly go out their way to accommodate any needs you might have. The breakfast is very well thought through and selection was really good. So if you are looking for a place to stay as a couple I would highly recommend this place.

We have enjoyed our stay at Jardim da Batalha at lot: most of all, very friendly personnel, every day, on every occasion! |Breakfast: we have had an early arrival, way before lunch and it was no problem to book breakfast without ahead notice. Every day, we found a breakfast with a lot of variety, fresh eggs cooked or fried as desired, fruit, many kinds of bread, all very fresh and tasty, and no plastic (part of the hotel concept!). Just love your pumpkin marmelade! Coffee and Tea available all day, without extra costs.|Our room: well-sized and very clean, we loved our balcony, and the very silent A/C which was working perfectly fine.|The garden: the only negative point: the views on the webpage pictures are kind of an illusion, actually, there is hardly any space to sit outside, so we preferred our balcony. And the trash cans do not make it look better. Maybe camouflage them.|Location: 5- 10 min walk to „the bridge“, the pedestrian zone, churches, … and to the hop-on hop-off bus stop (if needed). Restaurants and a super market in close walking distance.|Shuttle service to the airport back and forth worked perfectly!|So all together: any time again, we have had very good value for money!
