With a huge national convention happening in parallel to a few other related conferences and fora, all hotels in the area were booked full. Without a reservation, we had to drive around to find a place to stay. Luckily, one hotel receptionist forwarded someone's number who had two flats to let in this residential building. We had a one-room apartment with a spacious living room, bathroom, full kitchen and a balcony at a cost much lower than any hotel room in the vicinity. The building is right across the beach where one can find a massage spot, coconut stands, an acai shop, and many other interesting places for our stay. A supermarket is a few blocks away. I loved my daily sunrise beach walks. A peaceful oasis in Salvador, for sure.
