Jardín Botánico - Histórico La Concepción

Beautiful garden! Highly recommend a visit! We went there on the bus 20 and walked. I had a pram with me which was easy enough to get around most of the paths, and the ones I couldn't, I was able to find alternative routes and still see everything. The Barbie display was a little odd but it was fun to recognise the different places of the garden from the scenes on display. They give you a paper map on arrival. Lots of bathrooms around the gardens. Plenty of picnic benches around too as well as an area to the right near the entrance where there is a stand selling some food and drink and many tables.

We visited the gardens today and it really is a magical and wonderous place. Lovely coffee and cake from the cafe was a great start. There is so much to see and it's a calm and tranquil environment to rest and relax. Fortunately there was a brass band today which enhanced our experience as they were absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of history to read up on, exhibitions to see and exotic plants to enjoy. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. It was a real treat and outstanding value for money.

This is definitely a must-see place while visiting Malaga! The garden is huge and very diverse, with many different sections including a citrus garden, cactus garden, forest path (feels like a jungle!), palm alley, hibiscus path and olive grove. Everything is so beautiful, even in the winter. There is a bus going from the city center directly to the entrance of the garden, and a small cafe inside. Perfect way to spend the day!

A great garden to wander around with lots of interest, bamboo forest, a lovely viewpoint, cacti, and looks out for the terrapins! Very good value. Easy to get to on the number 20 bus from Málaga and around a 10 mins walk from the San Jose stop.

Its is a true gem in Málaga. It's easy to see why you loved it. It really is a magical place, with over 150 years of history and that incredible collection of tropical plants. It’s such a peaceful and beautiful escape. It’s great you left a review—it definitely helps others discover it!

A lovely escape just a short ride from Málaga’s centre. The botanical garden offers a peaceful stroll through lush subtropical plantings, shaded walkways and quiet ponds perfect for recharging away from the city buzz. A few practical notes: it’s a bit of a walk from public transport so wear comfortable shoes, and while many parts are beautifully tended the signage and some areas could use a refresh. All that said, for the ticket price it’s well worth spending a couple of hours here.

Hired a bike in Malaga for €15 and decided to cycle out to the botanical gardens — sounded like a great idea at the time! The last few kilometres are all uphill, so by the time I reached the gate I was dreaming of an ice-cold refresco. Google Maps tried to sabotage me by sending me to the university botanical gardens first, which added an unexpected 20 km detour to the trip. On the bright side, I now know parts of Malaga I never planned to see! Visited in November when it was a perfect 20°C — can’t imagine doing that climb in August. The gardens are beautiful, full of history, sculptures, and even an Alice in Wonderland theme when I was there. Peaceful, quirky, and definitely worth the effort once you find the right entrance!
