Jardin de la Paz, La Matanza, Tenerife, Canary Islands - Explore & Book

"Jardin de la Paz translates as 'Garden of Peace', a wonderfully apt name for this flourishing oasis above Tenerife's north coast. Although only an hour's drive from Playa de las Americas, this cluster of 12 apartments and villas feels a million miles away from the frenzy of the southern resorts. Frequented by those who appreciate the climate, scenery and sub-tropical flora of Tenerife - but not the crowds - Jardin de la Paz provides top-notch self-catering accommodation in lush gardens, plus 2 heated swimming pools. Activities such as trekking, horse-riding, tennis and golf can be arranged, but in truth most guests spend their days lazing on loungers, reading and soaking up the staggering panoramic views. There are few better places to do very little. The German owners are a husband-and-wife constructor and interior designer team. After failing to sell 3 neighbouring properties, they were inspired to create Jardin de la Paz: a huge gain for the island's hospitality industry. Very few hotels in Tenerife's vast array of options match the level of bespoke service and high quality design found here. A truly indulgent stay. Highs Most apartments and villas have picture windows with unobstructed, head-spinning views of the ocean below We loved the lush, terraced sub-tropical gardens, bursting with colour and secluded corners of palm shade and birdsong 2 heated pools and a choice of temperature - refreshing or lukewarm The freshly squeezed juices - made from fruit grown in the garden - are a treat for breakfast Excellent restaurants nearby serving delicious tapas and typical Canarian dishes Lows Lots of steps; a definite no-go for those with limited mobility It's a long way down a steep hill for a swim in the sea - and a heart-pumping climb back! No official restaurant on site and only 1 within walking distance, but fantastic daily breakfasts and a relaxed evening meal once a week Remote; a car is vital to explore the surrounding area" - Joe Cawley

Loved our stay at Casita Buena Vista, Jardin de la Paz! We don’t like big corporate, hotels, so the unique quaintness here suited us; peaceful, beautiful gardens and views! |Buena Vista has a luxury, large bathroom! We loved the spa bath after our hikes, the overhead led star lights were sweet! You could indeed see stars from the bed, through the skylight!! And the house keeping staff, gardening, reception are all friendly and unobtrusive.|The breakfast served for €18/20 was fabulous! Sit inside or outside with great sea views and also a view of Teide! Eggs (or bacon) cooked to your liking (I liked the omelette), a great choice of fruit, yoghurt, pastries, salads and canapé surprises. |We also enjoyed our own breakfasts and some evening meals on our private terrace (with two sun beds, two chairs and table and sea view).|We used the pools a few times - always had to ourselves- maybe because in January the water is colder, but once you’re in, it’s refreshing! |The sunsets here are amazing. A couple of times we took a bottle of wine to the breakfast/dining area to watch the full sunset.

Jardín de La Paz is truly a garden of peace! |We came here in March to enjoy our babymoon and were super happy with our stay. |We booked the wonderful Casa Buenavista that is elegantly furnished, has privacy and offers a spectacular look on the ocean as well as a glass roof to watch the stars.|A handwritten note in our apartment was the personal touch that showed us from the very first second that this was gonna be an amazing vacation. ||The whole resort is very well taken care of and makes you wanna enjoy the garden and pool. The other guests were very quiet and friendly as well. |Staff was super welcoming and accommodating, the breakfast offers a great variety and the terrace invites you to enjoy those first warm sun rays while sipping on your coffee. Our hosts even remembered our coffee preferences for breakfast and gave us wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and exploration. When I got sick on one of the days they noticed we hadn’t been there for breakfast - they politely checked on us and brought us a great breakfast selection to our room. |Because of my pregnancy we couldn’t use the sauna but the view was marvelous - we’ll definitely enjoy it next time!||The only downside is we didn’t book more days. We’ll definitely be back. |Don’t forget to book the picknick basket for your excursion - the perfect snacks and drinks for an afternoon at the beach!|

This is a lovely hotel with a gorgeous lush tropical garden. There are 2 pools, one heated. The apartments are very clean with all needed facilities and lots of space. Staff very approachable and friendly. The breakfast was brought to our apartment every morning and was delicious and with good value for money.||The only slight downside is that the restaurant was closed while we were there, and although the location is lovely in that it is very quiet and the views are beautiful, there is only one restaurant within walking distance, so it's a bit tricky unless you are planning to do your own cooking (also note there is no oven). Also there are a lot of steps down to some of the apartments so be aware if you have mobility issues.

We really liked it here - the relaxed, friendly atmosphere made it easy to settle in quickly and feel at home. The layout of the buildings makes it very easy to feel like you have the whole place to yourselves, as all the villas and apartments are carefully designed to feel private and unique, while all having lovely ocean views. ||||Delicious fresh breakfasts are a great start to the day (and an opportunity to chat to others if you want to!). The occasional 'pop-up' restaurant evenings offer excellent cooking and a welcoming ambience.||||A special word of praise goes to the housekeeping staff, who keep everything immaculately clean while being incredibly discreet and managing to slip into our apartment every day while we were at breakfast (whatever time we went!). As the accommodation is such that it's very easy to just stay all day if one is feeling lazy, this was much appreciated.

This spot is an absolutely, amazing piece of paradise on earth. Each of the luxurious apartments and villas have their own terrace, and the surrounding gardens with their variety of colorful flowers and palm trees as well as a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean give you the feeling of being in paradise. I sensed such a quietness and privacy, and it seemed that there were no other guests there. The staff was very friendly and hospitable, and they gave great care to make you feel welcome. Every morning, a delicious breakfast was served, and the beautiful weather, blue skies and starry nights made each day and evening special. After a week, I felt inwardly refreshed, strengthened and relaxed. This was my third time to visit Jardin de la Paz, and I cannot imagine a more wonderful way to spend a week.

Beautiful, light and airy apartments in an extremely quiet and peaceful area above the sea and with fantastic views to Mt Teide in places. All rooms are different, modern and well laid out, but it might be worth asking for a room with sunny terrace when booking if that is important to you. The two swimming pools were scarcely used during our stay, one is solar heated and the other kept at 24 degrees, so I found it quite comfortable for swimming. ||The staff are friendly and courteous and will help with suggestions for outings and dinner reservations. Loads of excellent restaurants within 10 minute drive (you do need a car here). Although we had a “kitchenette” and I am very tidy and compact whilst cooking, I would not have been happy to prepare more than basic lunches, and was always scared washing their rather good quality glass and chinaware in the small sink and with no draining board.

A beautiful setting, clean and comfortable accommodation, exceptionally helpful and obliging personnel. Breakfasts to suit all tastes and appetites.|Strongly recommend renting a car when staying here. Nearest bus-stop is about one mile away.

The place is one of the best kept secrets of Tenerife! Away from all the touristy places, awesome views, family-like friendly stuff, fantastic variety for breakfast, clean, quiet, spoiled with so many different flowers, just loved this place so much, would definitely come back! It was hard to leave, one week is not enough there!||There are two swimming pools, one is heated, the other one is a bit cooler. One can enjoy privacy in any villa, it feels like there is no one else in the whole resort. There is also a sauna. ||Walking down to the sea is quite a long way, and the little village is not super interesting down there, but there are kayaks for rent, if sea is calm, haven't tried them though.||Town is up the hill with some shops and restaurants, pretty basic stuff. There is also a nice fish restaurant 5 minutes walk away, went there twice for dinner, good choice of fresh fish.
