Amazing tour ($20 per person) showcasing wild orchids.
You need to do this tour to see the forest differently. There are so many orchids you would never notice.
They explain about the various types, they lend you magnifying glasses to see the miniature ones too (turns out most of them are really small). And they tell you which ones to smell. Who knew there are orchids that smell like watermelon or chocolate!
There is so much more to these plants then their looks.
And there are so many more orchids that you will only see if you know what to look for.
I m so glad we visited this orchid 'garden'.

We were lucky enough to get Andres as our guide. He was passionate about orchids and nature as well as patient which is necessary when dealing with my kids and their endless questions and chatter. :)
If you love science and love learning, you must not skip the orchid garden. We learned about how efficient Mother Nature is in designing orchids that use just enough energy to get pollinated and no more. The orchids here are tiny because they even get pollinated by creatures as small as male mosquitoes!
I thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour and am so glad we came here.
When you visit, be sure to find the ginger plant leaf and touch the underside of the leaves!

Did this your first thing in the morning. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned so many interesting facts. Unfortunately I do not remember his name he was a younger gentleman with blue hair. I couldn’t believe how small some of the orchids are. It was a nice slow paced walk with breaks to learn about the orchids. So many beautiful orchids!!

This is not to be missed. This has been 40 plus years in the making. The tour is well worth it.
Many Orchids only bloom for a short amount of time, allowing you to see rare and exotic species.

I highly recommend this tour. It was incredibly educational and the price was reasonable. I learned a lot and was surprised by how small the orchids could be. They were absolutely beautiful.

Andres was a font of knowledge on all things orchid. His explanations were very clear and interesting and sprinkled with anecdotes. His passion for the subject was obvious and the whole family came out delighted with the visit. We can all now recognise orchids and have been doing so since the visit.

Regarding the reviews questioning the presence of orchids, our experience indicates otherwise. The tour guide highlighted numerous orchids, which, while small, were vibrant and present. Some exhibited pleasant fragrances, while others had a distinct metallic scent. The tour itself was both informative and engaging. We recommend this tour to individuals with an interest in floral displays.

This tour was so interesting, and I’m very glad I took it! I learned so much about orchids and plants local to the region from Andrés. I hope to be back again to see different orchids in bloom :)
