The place and view from there are amazing! Literally can see everything. You can find fruits, spices and medical plants growing in there. They have small place for turtles and other animals. I believe that this is a must to do and see in your life,to understand how beautiful nature and world around us is. Also they have wonderful cafe with great food and view 🩷 Highly recommended to visit!

Lovely little botanical garden on Les Canelles. The drive up is quite steep, keep it on the low gears and you’ll be fine. Ample parking up top. Entry fee is 150 something rupees, I had to use cash because the machine was having internet problems. I have to admit, as someone who comes from a tropical country with plenty of exposure to our own homegrown flora, it’s a little underwhelming. I’m pretty familiar with the stuff on display. That said, I haven’t been a resident there for a while so it’s always nice to have a taste of home these days. They give you a numbers table, for extra info on the plants you match the number on the pole in front of the plants to the one on the table. Simple, though I feel that having a full description on a board would make things a lot easier. There’s a lot of variety in a small space. I did spend plenty of time looking up each plant as I walked by. The animals are also nice, plenty of giant tortoises there walking around in their enclosure. One last note, the green loop in the map pictured is actually a proper 20-minute trail through the forest. I just did the Copolia trail earlier in the day so this certainly took my depleted body by surprise. Recommended.

Today, while visiting Seychelles, we took a tour of the Roi Spice Gardens. The weather was like 89 degrees work 90% humidity And although I literally melt in this kind of weather, I chose to carry on. Our tour was very informative, with much to look at and learn about. My favorite part was seeing the ancient tortoises 🐢 and also the nursery of many baby tortoises for centuries to come. I recommend a visit to these gardens.

We both enjoyed the time at the spice garden a lot. Lovely plants and lovely turtles. I also can highly recommend the cinnamon ice cream. We had good 2 hours there and would come back again. Only the plants could be marked a bit better than just via a map.

Spice Garden Walk – A Self-Guided Stroll Through Nature’s Flavor Factory This wasn’t just a walk — it was a choose-your-own-adventure through the world of spices! No guide needed here — the lovely lady at the entrance handed us a beautifully detailed map and a numbered list of plants that made exploring both easy and fun (and yes, we felt like intrepid botanical detectives). Each plant had a sign, a number, and sometimes a scent that made us go, “Oooh, so that’s what cardamom looks like!” The garden is peaceful, lush, and smells like a five-star kitchen got lost in the jungle — in the best possible way. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we turned a corner and found… tortoises! Plus rabbits and guinea pigs. It was like a mini petting zoo surprise in the middle of a spice adventure. Pro tip: Go in the morning! The garden is much more enjoyable before the sun turns up the heat — trust us, your forehead will thank you. Perfect for a chilled-out, curiosity-filled morning — educational, refreshing, and with just the right amount of quirk. You’ll leave with a nose full of scents and a smile on your face.

An absolute must have on your visit to the Mahe island. If you are not planning on visiting the Praslin island then this place will be a treat with all its floral fauna and mainly Coco de mer trees. They charge 175 Rs. For adults and half price for children under 11. You are provided with a map and a numbered list of all the plants/trees on the property for a self guided tour. The trees are numbered so it's easy to locate them. You can complete the trails within 30-45 mins, there are plenty of pictures worthy points throughout the trail. They also have plenty of the large tortoise the island is famous for (inside enclosure). There is a washroom, a shop and a place to eat. The restaurant has open seating and amazing place to complete your trail. ** The owner was very generous to give us a ripe large pomelo and it was delicious.

Quaint private Gardens 5 generations old. The layout is confusing and not best signed. Would be nice if there was more information boards of the trees, plants etc. instead handed a map and a little number booklet but does not have info, get bored very quickly, lots of tortoises. We also ate in the restaurant food was nice but entry and food very pricy Wide had a crep, I had tuna and rice with two soft drinks came to 780 entry was 350 for the two of us.

Excellent old spice garden with beautiful well laid out specimens. Great views to go with the ice-cream at the restaurant. The ice-cream is flavoured by spices/plants from the garden. Worth a visit. We walked from Anse Royale which was a hot trek but not impossible.
