We walked in, enticed by the interesting entrance.
Once we got in, we realized that the music was way too loud. As in, as loud as the loudest nightclub you've been in. We thought about leaving, but it's late and we are not sure what is else open.
The effect is almost comical. Servers can't take orders. We can't hear each other. We went to the bathroom and got paper towels to put into our ears. One of us pulls out their phone and measures the decibels. It's solidly in the 90+ decibel range. (Sustained noise over 85 decibels permanently damages hearing.)
We ask the staff to turn down the music. They say they can't control it.
A band comes on. Magically, the music that couldn't be controlled is turned down. The band starts playing. They're pretty bad. Same 90 decibel range.
Server comes. Doesn't know how to pour beer -- she's pouring it straight in and it's creating a massive head. I thank her (not sure if she heard me) and stop her mid-pour so I can do it myself.
Pizza comes. It has a flimsy crust, probably due to not being cooked at a high enough temperature. It also has massive amounts of cheese, as if someone knocked over a jar of Parmesan onto pizza crust.
We can see the pizza oven from our table. Unlike the rest of the decor, which was very carefully selected, the pizza oven is homemade, built on site, and has a top that's too high to get the oven to a proper 900 degree temperature for a hard crust.
Band finally ends. Then comes the loud music again. Really random playlist: Pink Floyd one moment, Sinatra the next. Then Thievery Corporation, which actually fits the vibe they're trying to create, and is as loud as the actual Thievery concert I saw several months ago.
The point is this: be a nightclub (with great music) or be a restaurant (that lets people talk). Pick one. You can't do both.
The prices are REALLY expensive, too.
One of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Definitely the worst meal by far on this Cabo trip.
Instead, go across the street to La Lupita. The prices are half as much, the food is amazing, and the vibe is great. Or Tres Gallos, around the corner, which also has great food and musicians.
