Best Hilton Head Island Hikes for Every Time of Year

"Within the 53-acre Jarvis Creek Park, hikers can take the quick 1.1-mile loop, open to walkers, runners, and bikers. Budding bird watchers might catch a glimpse of a Great Blue Heron on their walk, while walkers who are only into hiking for the post-hike picnic will enjoy sprawling by the 11-acre lake with a sandwich and some trail mix." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Great place to meet up with friends and walk around the paved circuit surrounded by nature with a small lake. Plenty of free parking, rest rooms, playground, fixed exercise bars are included. No passes nor fees. One of the nicest walking parks in the county.

It’s a 5 for beauty and cleanliness for sure. HOWEVER - one of the alligators is clearly too large for that area to be safe to have fishing signs posted and people walking their dogs along the edge. I get it, there are alligators here, but there needs to be much more prominent signs and fishing should not be an option.

Nice little park. They have playground equipment for the kids. Covered picnic tables with grills, walking trails, and exercise area and even an area for fishing. It's catch and release only. I love it there, and so do the dogs im watching. I highly recommend this little park.

A beautiful park. Great place to have a picnic, go for a walk, or even let the kids play or catch some fish.

Unbelievable park, fantastic less than a mile hike. Wilderness galore. Giant painted turtles, numerous alligators, squirrels, hawks, prehistoric anhinga, ibis, jumping fish, majestic live oak. Saw an alligator chase down and steal 2lb bass off a fisherman's hook. Excersise equipment. Fantastic walk you won't regret the visit.

Favorite park to go to in all my years living in Bluffton. Always something to see. Love the walking trail around the pond and their exercise area. Lovely place to sit and relax and spend time with family. You can fish there as well. Careful with the alligators, they won't bother them as long as you don't bother them.

Oh my goodness it is so pretty my husband and I walked all over the grounds looking at all of the beautiful things!!! We saw several alligators swimming and laying around in the sun! It's so cool to see them in the wild. The playground was full of families playing on this beautiful day!!!
