Where to Stay in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"I stayed in a comfortable mid-range hotel built inside a collection of seven old antique shop houses where the rooms keep the building’s character, the small spa offers affordable Thai massages and foot rubs, and the Koffie House serves a great iced coffee; there are even single rooms with shared bathrooms for budget-minded travelers who still want privacy." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hotels in Bangkok (Updated 2025)

"Built inside a collection of seven antique shophouses, this three-star boutique has an eclectic industrial design with brushed concrete walls and wooden accents; the remodeled 32-room property offers ten room types (including kitchenettes and single rooms with shared bathrooms ideal for budget travelers seeking privacy), and all rooms include AC, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi‑Fi. There’s a small on-site spa and a restaurant with a delicious breakfast, plus a neat perk: after checkout you can return to use a complimentary room to shower before a late-night flight — overall I find it a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Sathorn." - Matthew Kepnes

I loved this hotel! I stayed a week, it was wonderful. Very comfortable and well-decorated room (Deluxe Double). Good wifi and smart TV. Good sound insulation. Tons of food carts around and a 24hr 7/11 and C-mini across the street. Several nice common areas, including a smoking area out front where you can watch the lively street. Super friendly and helpful manager. Not centrally located, but is close enough to the metro. 2 washing machines.

The hotel is very near the Sky train and the pier. The locate is easy access to good local food. However my frustration came from Room 212. The room is facing the alley. The business operates at night, which generate enormous noise that is affecting my sleep. I heard machines are running, cars came in and out , dogs are barking, racks are clashing , the alley lights up all night and motorists speeding by. The worst is the swishing of the water pipe on the ceiling. Budget doesn’t mean sacrificing. A good night sleep is the king.

I spent three weeks in Bangkok, in October and November, 2025, and made a point of staying in different hotels in different neighborhoods, for one to three days. I wanted to get a sense of the Sathon neighborhood, and booked one night at this hotel, after reading TripAdvisor's summary.||The Jasaen Stylish Boutique Hotel is a few block walk from the last BTS station on the Silom line, before crossing the river (which is also the ferry stop), so guests of the hotel have easy access to both modes of transportation.||I checked in, without knowing which room I was going to be assigned, which was part of the fun, for me. i ended up getting essentially a college dorm-style room, complete with its own full bathroom, a desk, ample power outlets to charge cameras, phones, laptops, etc., and a small refrigerator. It also had an interesting balcony, surrounded by a stone wall.||The bed was large and comfortable, the room very clean, the hotel is quiet, and the flatscreen TV was the only one in all of the places that I stayed in, in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, that had YouTube, among several other channels that I could understand in English.||The hotel is in a non-touristy native neighborhood, with a food mart across the street, street vendors and coffee shops within a stone's throw, and it is about two blocks from a main road that one takes to get to the BTS station to the North. I took that road, past the overhead BTS line, and found myself in a very active Thai restaurant and business district, where I got some excellent Thai food.||One of the things I appreciated most about Jasaen - as someone who likes to decompress at the end of the day with Pink Floyd, coffee and a cigar - is the top floor, which is enclosed, with large windows that open, and where the proprietor allows smoking. There was also what appeared to be a bar and possibly a large whirlpool tub, up there. I was the only one present, when I was up there.||Finally, the price is right. I think my night cost about $15 US, and I may have gotten the best night sleep at Jasaen, despite my nights at other far "swankier" hotels, around Bangkok.||Check in and check out were seamless and each took about three minutes.||Highly recommend, for anyone who approaches hotel stays with something of a "roll the dice" approach.||Mark Dreyer|Panama City, Florida, USA|November 2025

This has got to be the best hotel I have stayed in Thailand … in terms of room design, it is the most well thought out and the entire hotel is clean as well. I have never seen a hotel designed in this way in Thailand and fortunately , I managed to book it in advance for a much lower price than it normally is :) 3 areas I feel can be improved : 1) There is an elevator that strangely has a metal gate door that has to be manually opened and closed properly for the elevator to work. I have observed times where someone forgot to close the metal gate at the top / bottom levels and the reception staff had to go up / down the staircase to close the metal gate. My suggestion would be just to remove it lol. 2) Another improvement would be to add a hook so as to hang the towel inside the bathroom. 3) The bed sinks in the middle when I lie down. This shows the bed has been over used and needs a change. There are DIY coin-insert washing machines and a dryer on the top floor :) There are also a few food shops just outside the hotel or you can walk to nearby Bang Rak shopping mall area (mini - Chinatown) where there are a lot of food options :)

I found this place unexpectedly on Agoda and I booked it. I know the area well but wasn't sure about how the experience would be at the hotel but to my surprise it was very beautiful. It gave very rustic vintage vibe and very clean and closer to everything. The staff was really helpful and polite. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice place. The room is clean and tidy. Although it little bit small, if you have claustrophobic, maybe ask for a bigger room. They don’t have bidet and iron for clothes. They give free water so u don’t need to buy any. The elevator needs the room key to be able to use. They’re a 7/11 and a supermarket next to the hotel so it’s very convenient. Quite close to the city center, only takes 20min if u booked grab bike. The checkout is so quick too, they’re only check the room and confirm to you and you’re done. Very recommended this place

It was as expected that I chose a boutique hotel. The room was as described and shown in the pictures. I love the room style, especially with a theme, and it looks like traditional meets vintage. The location is just close to everything. Walkable to the bus and BTS station. You can find 2 convenience stores next to the hotel and many local restaurants. One thing that the hotel needs to pay attention is the quality of the bed. I hope they will replace it with a better one.
