I attended a function at this hotel. Function rooms, tech and support seemed to be well organised. The catering was handled brilliantly, including dietaries! I would have appreciated a barista and machine for coffee. The bathrooms really needed to be checked hourly with the number of participants to keep tidy. The stairs to level two are very steep. Thank you

Travelling for work the location of the Jasper hotel is good with easy tram access, Queen Vic Markets and some reasonable food choices. I was always greeted pleasantly. I stayed on two separate nights. First night large room, outside balcony and comfortable bed. The lounge just looked grotty - so I wasn’t sitting on that! Next room was smaller, but well set out, again bed was comfortable. I liked the bathroom set out but shower could have done with a good clean of the screens and rubber seals, maybe it’s just age - even the shower head could hardly keep it self up preferring to bow in shame. The brown, loose carpet felt sticky. The room had a kettle, fridge, iron and water bottles were also included. On the “quiet side” 7am building noise - no alarm clock required! The website says “big things are coming” - let’s hope so!

PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE. I am currently on day 2 of a 3 night stay. I only stayed here because the conference I am attending is in the building. The room is outdated, has black marks on the wall, hair in the shower, finger prints on the glass and is not vacuumed. The floors are filthy, check photos. BLACK MOULD IN THE SHOWERS, which is a genuine health risk!!! The TV doesn't have Fox or any paid channels. Water is only complimentary on the first day, there is no refreshments. Housekeeping only involves making the bed and changing towels. There is no other tidying or cleaning. Empty water bottles are left messily on the bedside tables. Weirdly, the team made my bed and put empty mentos packets back on the bed. I guess it was too much effort to put them in the bin. The carpets in the hallways look cheap and have lumps in them. The iron and iron board isn't put away. I mean, what does their housekeeping team actually do? Is there any quality control? When I raised this with the front desk, they spent more time explaining how nothing is wrong than actually fixing the problems. This is, honestly, the WORST pseudo-4 star hotel I've stayed in, and I've travelled a lot. I've had better rooms at less than half the price in India, of all places. 8 of the 15 most recent reviews are 1/5. The issues are all the same but obviously the management do not care about their customers, or their response would be effective and immediate. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Rooms themselves are pretty nice. But the cleaning is not up to standard mouldy carpet and shower. Quilt had stains all over it under the sheet. Bathroom sink wasn’t cleaned well before we checked in. Scuffs all over the walls and dirty blinds. If they just upped the cleaning standard the rooms would be really nice.

Disappointed is an understatement. I’ve done quite a lot of travelling and never had such bad hospitality service. The lady at reception who helped us check in was rude and unprofessional. When we first arrived, she told us we had an upgraded room. Once we got up to our room it was grotty and dirty. There was no proper bathroom, the toilet was a disabled bathroom with a hose on the wall for a shower. Carpets were filthy and the room was smelly. She told us this was the upgraded room which is a disgrace. We asked to change our room and once we received the new keys she then started to talk bad about us to her colleague as we were walking away. She then continued to be blunt with us for the entirety of our stay. On a positive side, the beds were comfortable and it’s in a good location. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for the price point. Looks nothing like the photos.

I recently had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. From the moment I walked into my room, I was shocked by the state of cleanliness. The floors were dirty, and the bedding didn't look fresh. It was as if the room hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. The worst part was the bathroom; there was visible mould in the shower, which made me very uncomfortable using it. The overall hygiene was far below acceptable standards. Adding to the unpleasant experience was the staff. The young lady at the reception was extremely rude and dismissive when I brought up my concerns. She seemed uninterested in helping and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Her attitude was far from professional and certainly not what you would expect from a hospitality establishment. Furthermore, the hotel did not match the photos I saw online at all. The images depicted a clean, modern, and comfortable environment, but the reality was the complete opposite. It felt like a bait-and-switch situation, and I felt deceived. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying here. It was a deeply unsatisfactory experience, and I regret choosing this hotel for my stay. People were also smoking in the hallway, which caused our whole room to smell of cigarettes 24/7. The TV was not usable, wouldn’t connect to the internet and remote didn’t work. After calling reception I was advised that a staff member would have a look ASAP, no one ever came to look. We held two bookings and were deeply disappointed with both of them.

We stayed here over the Christmas break fur 4 nights. Our room was upgraded by the friendly staff member which is always a great start! We ended up with a suite which was very spacious and quiet with a comfy bed. I would have given a 5 star review but without wishing to be ungrateful for the upgrade (we were very grateful) just being honest which is the point of the review - the walls were a bit bashed about and could have done with a paint and the carpet next to the bathroom was damaged with loose fibres hanging. Other than those small issues it was a very nice room.

Firstly, I want to make it clear the hotel (value and cleanliness) is Good. I often stay here when I’m traveling to Melbourne for work trips. Unfortunately, last night, while I was in my room, I received a call from the receptionist asking if I was smoking. I politely informed the receptionist that I’m a non-smoker (I’ve never smoked in my life). He then proceeded to accuse me of smoking, saying, “Well, there’s smoke coming from your room, sir.” I insisted that I’m a non-smoker and that it must be someone else. He continued to insist that it was coming from my room, despite the fact that I was alone in the room. As a non-smoker, I firmly denied any involvement. I even invited the receptionist to come to my room and check for himself if anyone had been smoking. However, he never arrived. I went to the reception office and asked the receptionist why he had called my room without any evidence or come to check. He apologized and admitted that he might have been mistaken. At this point, I felt that the damage had already been done. You don’t call and accuse your guests of something without any evidence or even checking to see if it’s true. I asked to speak with the duty manager and he advised there was none. There was no offer for anyone to contact me back to discuss.

Yelp
Super central. As, in walking distance to everything I like in Melbourne. Like that kebab shop, the comic shop, and various dumplings huts, dens and holes-in-the-wall. And many other things I might like if only I knew about them. Got a killer deal, think it was around $120/ night if memory serves, which it often doesn't. Book online quickly & easily. The hotel itself is nice without being super luxe, but again: location. Lani nailed it in her review: a perfect working traveler hotel when you're not spending too much time in the room. The hallway on my floor was interesting - bright red. Kind of felt like I should be paying by the hour, wink wink.

Yelp
Need a central to everything hotel to stay for work or pleasure? The Jasper Hotel is one such hotel that can tick those boxes. It'll also tick boxes for the coffee drinker - it's 500m or less from Market Lane Coffee and the healthy eater with the Queen Victoria Markets (Sat & Sun) across the road. My stay here was only two nights and it served every purpose I needed. Giant king size bed? Check. Bar fridge to fill with juice and snacks? Check. Decent water pressure for a long hot shower at the end of a crazy day. Check. There is WiFi, however, it is through a third party and comes at a pretty hefty price tag. Use it as an opportunity to disconnect, if you can, or make use of your phone as a modem. It is a little older in its fit outs and there was some minor noise and conversations to be heard from the room next to mine (thin walls) but this was a non-issue once my head hit the pillow. It's maybe not the hotel for you if you're wanting a relaxing-stay in and watch tv all day type mini-break, but should you be on a "I'm out exploring Melbourne all day" or "Busy Working All Day" type visit to Melbourne this is a-okay.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Luxury boutique style hotel in a great location. We actually stayed Christmas Day and checked in late so didn't see much of the staff but the room itself was spacious, modern and clean. Great value for money.

Yelp
Fridge wasent working , piss stains on the duvet , small terrible room , worst view from the window ever , I wouldn't suggest anyone even trying go there, staff was trying to help , but had nothing to do cause the hotel is just bad ......don't bother to go , choose a different one , they say they are 4 stars , wouldn't give it a motel status even ...

Yelp
You may want to rethink your options if you plan to book a conference here that needs wifi/Internet
