I recently enjoyed some unforgettable French Toast that truly delighted my taste buds. It was absolutely delicious! The staff made the experience even better with their kindness and warm smiles. I genuinely believe this place deserves a chance.

My first time at JAT , not the last one, for sure. They provide all day breakfasts, take away fees are 3-4 euro cheaper, many various seats in different colors and design. The cafe is wide and open, crowded on weekends though. Everything was superb, highly recommended ❤️

The staff is friendly and the chai latte and tea are also good. This is a good place to work with friends but the background music is pretty loud so if you really need to focus maybe bring some headphones

Google
Nice atmosphere, comfy furniture, disco soundtrack, good coffee, freshly squeezed juices, and nice fresh croissants and muffins at breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff

Google
I wouldn’t recommend this place as music is too loud that its not comfortable to stay in and waitress sad its managements order. Also its a very dirty place - see pics .

The only good thing was the sandwich. My coffee had a burned flavor. It was Saturday morning and the music was very loud, we couldn't chill and enjoy the atmosphere. Also the floor and tables were dirty.

Located on the Rue de Namur, not far from the Mont des Arts area. The café is open, with lots of windows and various seating arrangements in and out. Music contributes to the lively atmosphere. They offer wonderful coffee with sandwiched, breafast pastries, juices, and desserts. I ordered a flat white. Superb. My pastrami on a bagel was somewhat perplexed. The sandwich was light on the pastrami and heavy on cream cheese. It came with a small side salad, good dressing. Tasty, solid bagel, but the pastrami lacked taste and heartiness; the brownie was awesome, dense, and chocolate-packed. Nice space. Service could be faster. Attention to sandwich would help. If you are in the area, it is worth the stop for coffee or a quick snack.

Nice café to spend a few hours reading, working or chilling. Nice atmosphere, good coffee and friendly service

Yelp
Super cafe, very open with windows and lights on two sides. There is a wide selection of food and drinks, the coffees and scone we had were great and just what was needed after some hours of walking and looking around the area. All the food looked delicious, this is a nice spot to stop at.

Yelp
Jat is a fun place to study and get work done among a plethora of other cafes in this area. They serve up coffees, shakes, smoothies, juices, cakes and pastries, salads, sandwiches, and pancakes. There is another Jat cafe in the Saint-Gilles area, but this Jat seems to be quieter but still frequented by folks. They offer free wifi and have a bathroom for customers. I've enjoyed their cappuccino here a handful of times and have had a muffin or loaf (it wasn't memorable as you can tell, but it was filling as a sweet bite). Seating is plentiful and the ambiance is very relaxed.

Yelp
Been to Brussels multiple times and made it a point to stop Jat' Café. Everything is delicious and worth a stop to enjoy. They have multiple locations in the city. My visits have been related to breakfast time. It's a cafe though so some people were chilling out with some coffee etc. I ordered scrambled eggs with bagel. I asked for the eggs on the side instead of being inside the bagel. It came with some greens as well that almost felt like a side salad. My latte was excellent. I've tried their cappuccinos in the past as well. They know how to make good drinks and usually put a bite size cookie with the drink. The atmosphere is very nice with sofas and tables to enjoy your food at. They make everything to order so takes a few minutes. They bring your food to your table after you order at the register. Good service and excellent food. Plan to stop here at future visits as well. ~

Yelp
As you guys who follow my reviews know we like to eat breakfast at local places than at the hotels. Now don't get me wrong breakfast buffets are awesome like we experienced at the Sheraton in Warsaw. But the whole vacation experience is to enjoy what the locals enjoy hence our visit to Jat Cafe. This is awesome little breakfast place decorated uniquely. Before sitting down you order at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to your table. We ordered the sesame bagel with scrambled eggs along with the original ice coffee. The bagels in Europe seem just so much more fresher than stateside. The employees are great and they are always on the go as this place gets pretty busy with est in or take out. If in Brussels I would strongly recommend you enjoy an early breakfast here before heading out to explore the city.

Yelp
I really liked this cafe. I stopped by around 10AM on a weekday and there was plenty of seating available. However, when I stopped by another day closer to the lunch hour, the place was really buzzing and I didn't even bother trying to find a seat. They have an assortment of fresh squeezed juices that were delightful, though I wish they were served colder (I felt this way about almost every cold drink I had in Belgium, so we'll chalk that up to cultural differences) and had more vegetables in their blends. I had a bagel sandwich which was tasty, but a little heavy on the cream cheese for my taste. I appreciated the side salad that came with it to help balance out the carb/dairy fest. You do have to pay an extra 3 Euro if you want to eat in rather than take it to go, but that is the case with most cafes in this neighborhood. There is also a to-go case with an assortment of sandwiches, yogurt, etc so this could be a great quick option if you are in a rush. I didn't get any coffee, but noticed that they serve their coffee with a macaroon on the side which I thought was a nice touch. I definitely recommend Jat Cafe and hope to get back there someday!

Karen C.

Yelp
While we were in town we went there twice! We loved it! Cute cafe with great food and delicious coffee. Friendly service too. Highly recommend!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Very nice place to get some breakfast or lunch. Even to sit with a coffee is great. Note that brunch is only on the weekends. We had a nice salmon and cream cheese beagle. Juices are really a must. I had a freshly squeezed Carrot, Apple, Ginger and a lemon juice. Delicious!

Doruk U.

Yelp
The staff is very rude. Even though I had three orders in less than three hours, they asked me whether I'm willing to order anything else or not and if I'm not i'll have to leave. If you have such a policy, then you can mention it in the entrance of the cafe. Otherwise, if you leave it up to the initiative of your staff, it is nothing but discrimination. After seeing that I am not the first one having this unpleasant experience, I assume that they don't care about it at all. Never again.

Stephen H.

Yelp
So I was down near the restrooms listening to some catchy house music and tried to remind myself it was 10h00, not 22h00, and I was at a coffee shop, not a club. :-) Jat has got good coffee and food, lots of seating that varies from booth to table to comfy chair, and decent food, including good bagel sandwiches. It may strike you as a bit too cool/self-aware, but roll with it. You'll enjoy it.

Вика К.

Yelp
Iced tea was like supermarket Lipton tea with added ice. Music is very loud, you barely hear another person. Food could be better for that price. No wi-fi. Tables are small and you are not allowed to take two tables if there are two of you and even if that second table is not taken. I would not recommend this place. Better go to Bouche place in one minute.

Grace J.

Yelp
Nice location in the center of the city. The waiters are adorable and kind. The decoration is so charming. I love to sit in a comfortable coach with friends to drink a coffee. Don't come here if you want a calm atmosphere tho but I don't mind the music is not bad at all. Juices, coffees, salads, bagels, cupcakes and cakes. Nice place to eat a brunch. PS : you have to order at the counter. Truly recommend this place. Will sure come back.

Eman M.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is the atmosphere, the floor to ceiling windows provide natural light and a nice view. The music is just right and the seating is very comfortable but can be a little tight to move around the tables. You can see many people working on their laptops or reading a book, so it's that kind of place. The bagels are light and fresh (I wouldn't say amazing) and the coffee is great. The service however isn't so great, the person taking my order gives the impression as if he's doing me a favor by taking my order and when I asked for a recommendation during my first visit the reaction was standoffish and unwelcoming. Not the worst but at the same time I won't be a regular for sure.

Robert P.

Yelp
Very offputting plan to go there to grab some quick food went to the restroom before I ordered got yelled at and first inFrench then English when they realized I didn't understand anything they said ... ended up just buying a water to be nice and left I would've ordered first but on top of it all the line was very long so their staff left serving there very long line in order to Yellit me and chase me down to the bathroom And the whole not knowing French thing is I understand I am a foreigner in your country but if you're going to be this close to the tourist areas don't just assume everyone speaks French But whatever if a bunch of super hipster employees want to work at a "cool" coffee shop and just tourists around all day be my guest just not for me Also the tables are very close together in the whole place is very loud so might not of been the most relaxing place to sit down and have a bite to eat with my wife

Laurence D.

Yelp
Being on a mission to find all the good coffee shops in Brussels where you can work, with free wifi and good coffee, the Jat' was definitely on my list. Conveniently located between the central station and close to Porte de Namur, it is super easy to reach and really provides a good experience for the coffee shop worker that I am. Coffee is delicious (I usually go for an Americano, but I hear the cappuccino is also amazing: next on my list) and they also have loads of other drinks and good, healthy food and smoothies. Today is expat day it seems, and the place is buzzing with English-speaking people, just what I like! On the down-side, it's a bit dear, so I'm not going to have my usual 3 tons of coffee, but since it's really good, I can live with it! The atmosphere is also really relaxed, bright and the place is loaded with super-comfy little armchairs...which I tend to avoid to remain in work mode. The bike hanging on the wall also reminds me of my favourite coffee shop in Glasgow, which just makes everything perfect!

Ada H.

Yelp
This cafe is horrible. I just got robbed and asked if they could what's app my husband who is upstairs at the house we are staying. They would NOT help me at all. We were here for breakfast this morning. I got robbed in the late afternoon. All I asked was if they can call or a text my husband since I don't have the keys to go to the house. They were RUDE, told me they CAN"T help me. Just ONE TEXT....Heartless people.

Yelp
I was in love with the music and their location! They are located in a central area. My friend ordered the Vanilla Oreo milkshake. She was not disappointed. I was tired and completely forgot they offered this delicious beverage so I ordered a hot chocolate with milk for 3 Euros, which I don't find expensive compared to the States. I got a great vibe from this place! I was in love with their playlist. I wish Miami had a cafe spot like this that wasn't Starbucks... Anyways, this is a great hotspot to drink your tea and order sandwiches while completing your work. Business people were also here for meetings. Their mission statement was posted outside their store, which was they loved making coffee. This is a very popular place and are catering to the correct audience. While it is always busy, there are plenty of seats. This a nice place to come with friends and catch up and meet local artists, etc.

Shelby R.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped here for brunch before heading to the Matisse Museum because it was one of the few places open in Brussels open on a Sunday. It ended up being a perfect choice. The ambiance is super casual and a great place to sit and drink coffee and relax for hours. There was WiFi too so I could actually check my phone. The food was great too, and it was brought to our table very quickly. I had the salmon bagel. It was delicious and came with a side salad. Very fresh bagel and salmon and vegetables. My friends had no problems with their food either. It was a little pricey, but you pay for the quality of food and service.

Yelp
I entered today for the first time to this coffee place. There a lot of reviews of this place so I decided to give try and review it. When you enter you can see the modern retro decoration and they tune some soul groovy music on the background. On the left you've a open refrigerator filled with food that you can take out on the go, such as salad, cakes a.m. On the right you've the huge counter and the menu on the wall with their variation of coffee/tea/juice options and fancy bagels (8,90 and 5,90 takeout). It took me a while because there's so many choices but I ended up with one vanilla flavoured soy latte (due lactose intolerance) and one chicken truffle bagel. There are 3 option for the bagel buns: regular, paprika and sesame. The staff is really understand and is willing to give some advice. People who are working there are students (I assume). They made me instantly my drink and I went to take a seat, they brought me bagel a few minutes later. Chicken truffle bagel is served with salad (tomato, cucumber and mix salad. Balsamico dressing & truffle oil) on the side. Selfie time The bagel is crunchy and toasted. You can smell the delicious truffle essence. The chicken is shiny and calling me right now! Having a bite of it. Crunchy and has this delicious umami flavour, thanks to the truffle oil! The chicken is very smooth, not dry at all. I was just a bit surprised that they've put cream cheese. It was definitely on point with all the things with it. It was definitely worth the try and to risk my life ;) This is the best bagel I had whole my life! Bagel are a bit pricey but they've put so good quality on making it so I didn't mind. This place is really nice if you wanna chill, have some quality time with your friends, read your book, work on your laptop or even take out some bagel and coffee on the go :)

Michèle L.

Yelp
Good coffee but MEDIOCRE food and BAD service. The food is expensive, and it isn't that good. It is average and overpriced for what it is.... Do not go there because the staff is just very RUDE! They basically kick you out if you don't consume something else. I paid for an expensive coffee and I can't stay longer that two hours to study? According to other reviews this isn't the first time they KICK their costumers OUT. Unfortunately the place is noisy because they turn on the music way too loud, which also means all the people had to speak up. This is not a place to go if you want to get work done, or relax by reading a book. They also turn of the WIFI to disturb people who are working.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Perfect to hang out with friends or alone. Excellent beverages and their pastries/bagels are to die for (a tad pricey but so worth it). Great ambiance and music. Staff is polite, smiley and willing to help you have a nice time! A must, in Brussels!

Sonia T.

Yelp
Great coffee, cool interior design and music. Minus one star for staff - no smiling or small talks, not even trying to sell you more

Sara M.

Yelp
Stopped in early on a Sunday and ordered bagel sandwiches, a latte and a hot chocolate for take away. Service was fast and friendly and the sandwiches were good. Couple tips: For the sandwiches, there is a €3 up charge for eating in. This isn't uncommon in Europe but this seemed a bit steep so we took our breakfast to Parc de Brussels and enjoyed it outside. The music was loud especially after a long night at Delirium, so I was thankful for the peaceful park. The sandwiches are messy so ask for extra napkins.

Marj W.

Yelp
Mozz/tomato bagel was yummy, but expensive to dine in 8.30 euros compared to eat out for 5.30 but who wants to go out on a cold, rainy day? Hot chocolate was delicious and hot! Perfect lunch after a half day at the museum. Free WiFi, as well. Ambience is casual. Overall was good.

Bart V.

Yelp
- Price/Quality: It's a bit like Exki but it's cheaper and you'll get bigger portions. But don't get too excited, it's still priced. 6 euros and a bit for a good portion of tunafish salad (salad, tomatoes, peppers and olives) with free bread and dressing (olive oil, balsamico, etc.). 4 euros for 'taboulé à la menthe' with cherry tomatoes, grilled salmon and some dill tops on top. Between 2 and 3 euros for teas and coffees. - Health: It's Exki style so not as healthy as their image assumes but pretty conscious, desserts excluded off course. - Pleasure: I liked it, my stomach liked it. But if you prefer fresh stuff instead of taking a plastic pot from the counter, better go to Peck 47. - Quantity: More than Exki or Foodmaker's sometimes ridiculously small portions. - Variety: A decent range of pastas, salads, bagels (all with creamcheese), coffees, juices, etc. to choose from.

Valentina M.

Yelp
"Hip" cafe with a good selection of warm drinks, pastries and quick lunch options. It could have been a 4 star for me if it wasn't for: - music. Not to my taste and incongruous. instead of the jazzy/indie/retro stuff that I would expect in a place like that, it's usually electro- crap. Volume and bass are too loud to hold a proper conversation. - staff. Hit or miss, some are OK, some downright rude. - bathrooms. Really dirty.

Sofie K.

Yelp
Awesometacular My favourite coffee shop of all times!!! Extraordinary coffee + kassey voorn & deepfunk long time gone (progressive house music) = perfection.

Lisa B.

Yelp
What a great discovery! I seem to be in Brussels more and more for work and always have trouble finding a place to eat quickly or to go. I am so happy I found Jat' Café! The café is conveniently located between the big square with all of the museums and the luxury shopping streets (Waterloo and Louise). You can opt to dine in or take your food to go. There is quite a large menu of healthy meals and indulgent sweets, plus a long list of coffee drinks and fresh juices. The staff are super friendly and greeted me right away. I ordered a bacon and egg bagel to go with an iced coffee. Mmmm!!! I need to go back to try more of their bagels and coffee! The baked goods and milkshakes also looked great!

Daphne B.

Yelp
It was totally delicious we're staying at The hotel and it's only a 8 minutes walk the place was pack so if you come in pairs make sure one make lines and one finds a table the weekend menu is different that the week menu but still freshly made juices and food

Tobias A.

Yelp
Nice coffeeshop I stayed with my gf during a rainshower. Good cappuccino, good chai latte. Good pastry, good muffin. Also the sandwiches looked good. So... good! (What do you expect. It is this type of hipsterish coffeeshop thing which you can find in every city. It is good. Nothing unique. But perfectly fine if you are looking for something like that.)

Merilyn T.

Yelp
The place is great, the atmosphere and design, i also really like the music and btw good looking waiters! Hipster, cool, cozy! Moka Latte was just a bit too sweet, but all in all i love it, and will be coming back for more!!

Marco R.

Yelp
Love this place. Quite hipstery in a nice street of Brussels just between Porte de Namur and Place Royale. They serve great salads and sandwiches and amazing coffee and fancy "coffees" Starbucks-like. Cool, chilled and good quality. Great for loitering but also to meet up people for business-coffee.

Alyssa E.

Yelp
Super great bagel sandwiches and the BEST coffee! We came back twice. Wish we had one of these in the states! Also a really nice vibe in there.

Ed Z.

Yelp
Great place to get food in Brussels. The interior is cool and there's even couches to relax and enjoy your expresso. It's two minutes from Petit Sablon if you prefer a more tranquil place to enjoy your lunch. There's a surcharge to eat in. The food was fantastic. I had one of the best salmon and cream cheese bagels I've ever had. Service was very friendly, and even though it was packed I waited less than five minutes for my food.

Marie D.

Yelp
Love this place and there yummy coffee! See my opinion on my blog: https://choupetamarie.com/2016/10/18/jat-cafe-bruxelles/

Darren A.

Yelp
Excellent little place for very interesting and tasty breakfast. Recommended and very friendly people.

James M.

Yelp
A nice place with free WiFi. Good bagel! The hot chocolate and chocolate brownie is absolutely amazing. Great environment to read and relax. Open Sunday 0700-1900, so convenient.

Linh D.

Yelp
I really wanted to give Jat a good review; mainly it's so close to me whenever I'm in Brussels. The food is average and overpriced for what it is; maybe I say that because I'm in Melbourne. The food isn't terrible, it's also not worth coming back for. What I really don't understand is if this is Jat Cafe or Jat Club. The music is heinous -- who wants to be listening to trashy club beats at 2pm, as loud as it would be if I was at a club? Gross.

Amanda G.

Yelp
They got me on their note outside; caffeine makes u sexy haha. Although I try to avoid coffee, yeah this place gets me going. Their coffee is great, their staff is the coolest and u don't even need to ask for a wifi code; it comes on your receipt ;-). I enjoy having my meetings before lunch here coz is quite empty and they have a fine selection of Bossa Nova (I would know I am from Rio :). Their toilet is a fun experience, make all of us work on our squads! Haha Those who come by car I wish you luck finding a parking spot, so have a walk and enjoy your coffee :).

Matt D.

Yelp
I had some time to kill in Brussels and came across this place based on the previous reviews. It's a really nice place to sit by yourself. There is free wifi. Comfy seats. Very friendly multi-lingual staff. And the food is really good. There is a range of good coffee and teas. A+ would visit again.

Alex D.

Yelp
Just arrived in Belgium a few days ago and was looking for a place to grab a coffee and chill in the mornings, and Jat' Café is the place! There is a very laid back vibe, with cozy seating areas and good music. The service was great and everything I ordered was delicious. Definitely will be a regular here while I am staying in Brussels.

Michael A.

Yelp
stopped by here since i had some business in a local government building and was in dire need of a coffee and a place to rest my weary bones for a bit. i tried the vanilla Oreo latte, since it sounded interesting and was wondering what an Oreo coffee would taste like. It was expensive but what coffee isn't these days - thank you Starbucks!!! Well, it was a vanilla flavored latte with an Oreo cookie or two broken up and place on top of the mound of whipped cream. nice atmosphere and as somebody mentioned, free wifi. there were may taking advantage of that. the food looked good too. oh, i had a blueberry muffin as well but it was just your typical blueberry muffin that you can find all around the city at those blueberry muffin selling places places. overall, a comfortable place that I would go back to if i found myself in the area again.

Joe B.

Yelp
A lot of hype for just an okay cafe. Not many options for breakfast and also it is not great for people who are celiac. I am not myself, but I was traveling with two people who are. My wife is pregnant and asked them to cook the eggs well and their response was, "They are already cooked, we just microwave them." Everything else was fine if you just want to stop in for a coffee, maybe a parfait or croissant, and use some WiFi.

Lucie R.

Yelp
The BEST place in the area to relax during a lunch break. They have delicious soups and prices are correct.

Anna H.

Yelp
As an exchange student in Brussels, I was with a group of friends trying to find a good cafe to do some of our coursework in. Jat' looked very cool and seemed to have the perfect environment. However, the staff was extremely unfriendly and they were blasting loud techno music. The wifi only worked for about half of us. I was very disappointed and would not go back. There are plenty of other good study cafes in the area that are much nicer.

Marek Z.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and had great coffee each time - except last time when the intern made me a watery latté. I think that as long as you avoid that, you can't go wrong with Jat Café! Ambiance is really chilled out making this a great place to just hang out in.

Andreea G.

Yelp
A cozy lunch or weekend brunch place in Brussels. And a great selection of iced coffees. http://onfoodandwine.wordpress.com/2014/08/16/jat-brunch-in-brussels/

Tony K.

Yelp
We had egg & bacon bagels, double lattes, & pain au chocolat. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was very nice. The music was eclectic - ranging from soul to jazz to easy listening - but perfectly fine. We would come back for breakfast if possible.

Estere U.

Yelp
Jat wants to come across as a laid back hipster cafe, but in fact it is run like a fast food chain which does not treat its customers well. For instance, they purposely turn the music up loud to disturb people so they would leave sooner. When asked to turn the volume down, they refuse it and actually put it even louder. I had not even finished my coffee a few times and it was literally pulled out of my hands by the employees who wanted to clear the tables for the next people. Another time I spotted that they heated up cheese for the bagels in the microwave. The ingredients are not fresh, the bread is stale from probably the day before, yet the prices are inadequately high.

Camilo P.

Yelp
I came here expecting a quiet place where i good read. Unfortunately the place was a noisy (especially for 2pm) because of the music so all the people had to speak up. Otherwise the salmon bagel i took (8.90€) and the latte coffee (2.80€) were quite good. The coffe was served in like 2 minutes and the bagel was served on my table in less than 10 minutes. The waitress was nice and fast. They provide a good and reliable service. I might come in Jat' coffee for other occasion. It seems to be a good place to chill out with friend after a shopping session (on toison d'or avenue) or to hang out before going to the cinema.
