On the Grid : JCT Kitchen

"JCT has become such a staple in Atlanta’s culinary scene – we’re getting a little choked up just writing about it! Updated Southern cuisine is the fare of choice with standouts like Ford Fry’s famous fried chicken, angry mussels, house-made bacon mac and cheese, and their deviled eggs with country ham. Honorable mention goes to their seasonal and always-delicious vegetable plate. JCT also offers a rooftop bar where patrons can enjoy live music and Atlanta’s beautiful skyline." - Resource Branding

06Apr19..My family and I have noticed this place as we have passed by. It is your typical hole-in-the-wall. My wife and I had the double cheeseburger. My daughter had the philly cheesesteak. Those burgers were truly delicious. My daughter said it was the best philly cheesesteak she has ever had. Prices were quite reasonable.

I'm new to the area, and am big on supporting the locally owned businesses in the neighborhood. But this was a huge miss! -Food quality: 3/5 stars Burger was juicy and delicious, but had no tomato, a few shavings of lettuce and an onion slice. Just not what I expected for "everything on it". Fries were just ok, but no salt -Service: 1/5 stars I think the owner/ operator is struggling building his team (hence the Help Wanted signs in windows) and the young lady taking orders/ running the register doesn't care to be considerate, respectful or pleasant. Pricing: 3/5 According to the printed menus, the prices are rather reasonable. However, I was unable to get clarity on what I ordered/ was charged vs what I received -- over $5 for a half-handful of fries just doesn't seem good value (I added a charging block to one picture for perspective) -Atmosphere: 2/5 stars *IF* you eat here, to-go is my suggestion. Also, the menu is extensive, but many items may not be available I may consider going back once more to see if this experience was a fluke.

Cool hole-in-the-wall spot that doesn't make it on the travel lists but probably deserves to. The wings are marinated & had awesome flavor & sauce. Fries pretty average but perfect with the wings. Casual neighborly staff.

Just happened to be walking to Centennial Park and came across this restaurant on the corner. There was a small grill out front putting off a wonderful aroma so we had to go in and order. Purchased the cheese burger and fries. The food was amazing, cooked to order so it was hot and fresh. This place is a must go to when downtown.

Nut allergy friendly except for the pies. As another reviewer stated, none of the prices on the menu match the actual charged price. Menu said the burger was $6 and the fries $2.50... I was charged $10.86 before tip for a slightly better than fast food, "fast casual" Classic burger and fries. Wasn't given the option of small or large fries. "Made to order" in that the patties are preformed and get thrown on a grill. Light lettuce, onion, tomato were fresh but very minimal. I asked for ketchup to go and was given two packets, nowhere near enough. Burger 3/5, fries 2/5 still mostly soggy even though they were freshly fried. Poor service gives this a 2/5 overall. People saying this is the best burger they've ever had need to try a real sit down burger establishment.

This is a small, family run place. It's a grill with a counter and window seats. Had a salmon burger. This is not what you would expect. A salmon filet with grilled onions on a bun. Made while you watch. Wow, I didn't expect a filet. This was fabulous. The banter between the staff is very entertaining. You can call in your order to pickup and take out. Maybe a 15 stools in the place. GREAT!

Best burger and fries I've ever had! Went here while on a trip, and it definitely did not disappoint. The wait time to get food was a little long, but it was understandable because it was during a dinner rush and they had three workers. Overall, great place and I wish it was back in my hometown!
