Conveniently located behind a Petron station, wide frontage and large, clear billboard makes it easy to find. Accessing registration/information desk requires walking up many steps or a steep ramp. Desk staff welcoming, warm, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend that you make reservations for the “new” wing, which is much more modern than the original “old” wing. New wing has only a single elevator with max capacity of about 6 passengers, but is quick and quiet. Rooms are large and clean. Beds are very firm, but pillows are supportive and linens of good quality. Airconditioning at the minimum is of good quality. Pet peeve is that only a single room card is issued, which is required to activate room electric circuits. Bathroom is fairly well thought out, with adequate space around the single sink. Toilet seat was fastened poorly, slipping to one side or another with a loud whack while one sits on it. Hand operated bidet is convenient. Shower pressure is on the weak side, not that satisfying. Hot water was not to be had on the second day, which turned out to be due to a tripped fuse, easily corrected by the resident assitant staff. Staff is warm and courteous, eager to please, and very quick to deliver additional towel and shower mat (shower floor got very slippery while soapy). Shower tiles showed some mildewing, need more thorough scrubbing. Dinner at hotel’s Eagle’s Nest restaurant delivered a tasty and filling seafood chop suey with crisp vegetables, shrimp, salmon, and fish balls in a savory, slight sweet thick sauce. Garlic fried rice was well executed.
Buffet breakfast, though, was only passable: garlic rice & corned beef underseasoned; adobo long beans oily, longganisa insufficiently garlicky and sour for a true Ilocano taste.
Easily accessed gas station convenience store is open 24/7. Overall, this little hotel delivers good value for the money. Fairly highly recommended.
