This hotel has such potential! The room (number 7) was large and clean, and quiet outside of Lunar New Year fireworks. It was well decorated and had a tiny safe and half fridge. It, however, was so light as there were no shades on the frosted glaze bathroom windows. So between that light, and the 6am call to prayer, it wasn't possible to lie-in. The bed was also much harder than I like, so sleep wasnt great.
The hotel has been well restored but does lack a little love in places.
The pool was very welcome, but getting in and out was hard without rails or steps. I saw those with young children struggle.
The rudimentary common area cold water, tea and coffee (no milk) whilst welcome was the only drinks option. There was also no bar or food, and there weren't loads of options for breakfast or a 7/11 within a few mins. Janxden did breakfast and is vegetarian amd vegan.
The mansion building is lovely, but it just needs slightly more of a hotel feeling to justify the price.
Outside the hotel, there is a strong smell of sewage common in parts of Georgetown.
