Great location and friendly staff. It is a gorgeous heritage building that probably has seen better days as a boutique hotel. It’s the details that need attending to: lumpy old pillows, threadbare bed covers, no facilities for coffee/tea in the room even though they proved a little communal tea section in the main hall. The communal kitchen sink is more often than not crowded with used utensils. Pitt, as the sister property Seven Terraces is better managed and maintained. Still, it will appeal if one is thinking of an exotic accommodation.

A welcome retreat in the heart of Georgetown. Beautiful space all round, in splendid mansion style that has all the bespoke GTHH charm. A small but inviting pool too. Highly recommended.

As a safety professional, I have to say the standard rooms 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are unsafe. My room (#7) has sealed windows for the climate controlled air conditioning for the upper floor. The room front door has a manual latch that can be barricaded from the exterior to trap the guest inside. No other exits available. In the event of a fire, the arsonist can just latch the guestrooms and trap them in a burning building. ||The security is also lax. While the staff monitoring the premises stay indoors, the courtyard is not monitored and can leave burglars sneaking into the premises through the rear. Also, property is not handicap friendly.||Other than that, the property is lovely. Beds are plush and comfy. Water pressure is OK. Shower floor is showing age and its unevenness leaves an undrained pool of dirty water. The pool is very unused and so are the courtyard amenities.

We stayed there for 2 days in early November 2024. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice with antique decor. But the TV offered only a couple of local channels and we were not able to connect to any channel like CNN or BBC to catch the results of the US elections. The health faucet in the toilet was leaking. The towel rack in the bathroom is placed too high and a person of average height has to jump up to try and place a towel to dry through it. The pool was nice to swim in. However there is no ladder to climb in and out of it and one has to hoist oneself out and in the process I ended up laddering my brand new swim suit on the very rough top surface of its side wall. The mansion is well located with lots of good eating places and sights within walking distance.

This hotel has such potential! The room (number 7) was large and clean, and quiet outside of Lunar New Year fireworks. It was well decorated and had a tiny safe and half fridge. It, however, was so light as there were no shades on the frosted glaze bathroom windows. So between that light, and the 6am call to prayer, it wasn't possible to lie-in. The bed was also much harder than I like, so sleep wasnt great. The hotel has been well restored but does lack a little love in places. The pool was very welcome, but getting in and out was hard without rails or steps. I saw those with young children struggle. The rudimentary common area cold water, tea and coffee (no milk) whilst welcome was the only drinks option. There was also no bar or food, and there weren't loads of options for breakfast or a 7/11 within a few mins. Janxden did breakfast and is vegetarian amd vegan. The mansion building is lovely, but it just needs slightly more of a hotel feeling to justify the price. Outside the hotel, there is a strong smell of sewage common in parts of Georgetown.

I loved this place. I have no idea why it has a 3 star rating ?? The mansion suite is massive! The building has an amazing character to it. It doesn't have a restaurant but that's ok because there is an endless amount of food nearby. It really is a beautiful building!! If I had had to be a little fussy, the bed was quite firm and you get a bit of road noise in the front of the building. Would I stay here again? Absolutely

If you want to have an immersive true experience in Georgetown ambiance, don’t miss to stay here! It’s an old and fully restored beautiful mansion. At the first sight, we thought that we were sleeping in a vintage movie. Well renovated, amazing furniture, big rooms and very nice stuff. The pool is refreshing after a long day during the hot period. There isn’t any room service/restaurant but you can have your meals in the terrace or in the garden (ordering them by GRAB and/or picking up just outside the hotel). It’s a real dream!

Very authentic and super clean and tasteful peranakan mansion experience. Stayed for 1 night and shuld have done more. Although it's not a full service hotel with no room service and kitchen including bell boy but still the charm must be experienced by staying here atkeast for 1 night if you are in George town. Amazing food options near by like Damascus, Cat cafe and multiple vegan options. Great for doing photos hoots and authentic Malaysian experience specially shout out to Sajee the front desk manager who sweet and very helpful in guiding our family for Georgetown.
