Incredible experience for the whole family. The water park was a blast. There were activities for all ages. The Gondola ride was a favorite. Awesome panoramic views from the top. The atmosphere is relaxing and quite. There are several good places to eat as well. Overall I would recommend for a great family trip weather you are skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer.

Booked a night with unlimited golf at Jay Peak. We were told on the phone we could golf with our one year old as we have a seat we strap in the cold cart for him. Showed up, with a 10:00 tee time booked already and were told we couldn’t bring our child. Guy in the pro shop was very rude. We were told we needed to check in to get golf vouchers. Front seat told us check in wasn’t till 5 so we were out of luck, managers were called and I ended up golfing with just my oldest son after almost missing our tee time after showing up 45 minutes early. Customer service at the front desk were very rude and difficult to deal with. Elevator to our room didn’t go to our floor so we ended up having to carry the stroller up stairs. Went to get lunch at the foundry and waited 30 minutes by the sign “please wait to be seated” before anyone showed up to acknowledge us and there were only three tables seated. The food was good but expensive but that’s to expected. We were really excited for this day but it was a complete disappointment and not worth it. We are Vermont natives too.l, about an hour away from Jay and will never come back here. Much better golf and accommodations elsewhere.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but my experience at Jay Peak Resort was so appalling that I feel a genuine responsibility to warn others. Yes, the location itself has a lot of potential—beautiful scenery, decent amenities—but none of that matters when the people running the place seem determined to make you feel unwelcome. We had the distinct misfortune of encountering the most arrogant, condescending front desk staff I’ve ever dealt with anywhere. The man working the late-night check-in was downright hostile, speaking to us like we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. His name was Jack or Zach something. I wished I captured that. Even more disturbing was witnessing racial innuendoes directed at other guests—thinly veiled remarks that made my stomach turn. No amount of scenery can compensate for an environment that feels so toxic. This wasn’t just poor service—it was the kind of treatment that leaves you angry and humiliated long after you’ve left. If you value your dignity and your money, do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. Jay Peak Resort may look inviting on the surface, but behind the front desk is an attitude that can ruin your entire trip. We will never be back, and I strongly urge you to think twice before giving this resort a single cent.

Jay seems really cool and we really wanted to like it. Unfortunately the Tram was shut down the first day making the other lift lines longer than usual and then shut down the next day for wind so we didn’t get to see much of the mountain. The little bit that we did experience seemed great and it’s lucky to still have snow this late in the season so we probably just need to come back and cross our fingers for better weather. All the staff members we interacted with were incredible and so nice. Check in was slightly confusing at first but easy overall. Booked a little late and all that was available were condos which is OK but it’s more of a friends condo vibe vs a resort feel. Nice to have a full kitchen but funny details like two full size cheese graters and no pans. Both shower doors are completely off their tracks, bunk bed ladder is disconnected on one side etc. Plenty of space and comfortable if dated, a little strange that garden level is mostly below ground but easy in and out. Didn’t get to try everything but there are a ton of activities beyond skiing which ended up being a lifesaver. Kids had a blast at the water park and it was surprisingly well rounded with lots to do in a fairly compact area. Life guards were professional but also friendly and the food from the snack bar was pretty good. The general store is well stocked (helpful since our condo had no soap or shampoo) and even though it’s way out here the area is pretty and not overly busy after the Saturday crowds head home.

Last weekend at Jay Peak was a great fun time. All 23 of us. Canadian at par as well. Beautiful mountains lovely golf course and their Pub/Grill was awesome. The best ever smash burger I ever had this far. Also the Turkey Club sandwich between none holes did the trick. We packed in the cottages/Condos. Couldn't ask for better. The Hotel nearby had a great pizza place. We will be heading back next year for sure.

Google
I didn’t stay at the resort but enjoyed a stellar day skiing the mountain. The lift team were impeccable, keeping the lines moving efficiently and the vibes high. The layout and amenities are extremely friendly and well thought out. Easily accessible water stations, bathrooms, and open eating/storage areas. We were fortunate with great snow that added to the o real experience. Had lots of tasty snacks around the lodges and enjoyed meeting lots of locals and travellers who were all in great spirits. Can’t wait to return!

Google
We'd only heard positive things about Jay Peak, so it was high on our list of ski destinations. Happy to say that the buzz was warranted and we were very pleased with our experience. We visited during a very active weather week, one of the days we purchased tickets for was not good. But no problem, the mountain was willing to issue us a voucher and we were able to return later in the week, when the weather was much better. We skied two full days and found so many fun and interesting trails. There is something for everyone here, but our feeling is that Jay is best suited for strong to very strong skiers. The famed tram was open on one of our days and we decided to ride it to the summit. Although we waited for about an hour, so glad we did it. The views from the summit are stunning and the trails that start there are worth it. Jay met, and even exceeded, our expectations. We found the people around us to be great, friendly, and equally excited to be there. Will definitely return. Strongly recommend Jay!

Google
The quality and amount of snow, is second to none. The resort itself has so many amenities that you and your kids will thoroughly enjoy. The Tram-side of the mountain has a lot of action (including the tram), the Stateside area can be more low key and great for families. Either way, if you love an almost daily dose of fresh snow, this is the place to go!

Yelp
I have been here three times in the past three years, so I think I'm ready for a review. First off, my overall great is that I really really like Jay Peak, and will probably go back. But first and foremost, this is a ski resort, and that is where I have the most criticisms. I've been there three times, once at New Years, once in early January, once in February. I know they can't control the weather. But I think some of the other resorts further south do better with the snowmaking and grooming. When I was there over New Year's, and the snow was light and temps warm, I looked at Killington and Snow where 50+ trails were open, big sections of the mountain all open. At jay, just a small slice, maybe 10-20 trails were open. Also, it's just not a great beginner's mountain. There are a few slow beginner lifts but to go up high and get the views, there are just a few blue runs to get down, and they tend to be skied off (by all the intermediate skiers being forced down them) and iced off by the very high winds (more on that to come) even in good weather. The two base setup can be confusing, and there are no mid mountain lifts, which makes for crowds despite this being a very remote spot. Often the lifts are shut down too, especially on the tram side, due to topography and wind. I have never been to another mountain with so frequent wind holds. I love the look of the tram. I've been to Jay three times, and I've only been on the tram ONCE. One ride. It is usually closed due to wind hold or terrain not open or some other reason (just not open midweek because maybe too expensive to run?). The last time I was there EVERY lift on the tramside was closed on a busy weekend - so we were staying on the tramside, and couldn't ski on the tramside. Huge crowds at Stateside. Just not ideal. I know they get a TON of snow, but the winds and other issues with flow mitigate this... the main big lift on the stateside is also not high speed, so it is really lacking in a lot of ways, I have to be honest. I know Jay is legendary for it's tree skiing, and there is definitely good tree skiing. The snow in the trees is probably better protected from those crazy winds that shut down the tramside lifts what seems like every other day. Ok, so now for the good. It's a great resort for families. LOTS to do other than skiing. Several restaurants, shops, movie theatre, climbing gym, aracade, skating rink, am I forgetting anything.... Oh yes, the waterpark. This is a really great waterpark. Huge. Tons to do, lots of slides, areas for the little kids, friendly staff. Very good value. Kids could spend hours there, and a nice bar for the adults and decent food all around the resort - nothing amazing, but all the food is above average in my opinion. The town is dead. There really isn't a town. You come to this place for the resort, and there is plenty to do there. I wish they had a section that allowed pets, because my dog loves going on ski trips, and would be great to bring him along. No pets allowed anywhere at Jay. Last time I went, it was for a daughter's hockey tournament, so we were very busy for that. But we still skied. What I can say about the hockey tournaments is that they felt a little rushed... all games started 20-30 minutes early, which is weird, and some of the referees really rushed them through - calling very few penalties, barely blowing the whistle, and forcing a running clock as soon as one team had a lead of more than a few goals. To go all that way and feel rushed through games is not a great experience. But we will probably go back. I really hope we can go another time when the skiing is prime, and the lifts are all functional, etc. But really we'll go back for the activities ancillary to skiing - the waterpark, the rock climbing, the skating rink, etc etc. It's a great place for a family.

Yelp
It's a nice resort for skiers and snowboarders. There was a decent amount of snowfall when we went (December) and they also make some of their own snow. The snow was nice and powdery when we went (though there were a few icy spots, but temps were in the negatives so that's to be expected). Most of the trails were pretty wide and everyone was very mindful of the people in front of them when going down the mountain. They have a good amount of blues and greens for those that are just learning the sport. They also have some fun trails that cut through the trees for those that are more adventurous. On-site staff members were all really friendly and made us feel like family or long lost friends. All smiles and we all felt very welcomed at the resort. One of the staff members even gave us a lift over to stateside when he saw my family and I waiting for the shuttle in below 0 degree temperatures. That's what I call amazing service! Unfortunately, I did not get his name but we definitely appreciated his kind gesture. Jay's Peak also has an app that can track your runs and will give you up-to-date info on which trails and lifts are open. It was pretty accurate and I like that it can give you a replay of your movement down the mountain. All lifts were open on one of the days we were there so we got in a decent amount of runs all over the mountain. The waterpark is small, but can provide you with a few hours of entertainment after the lifts close. The park consists mainly of a lazy river, some water slides, a hot springs area (hot tubs), and a pool area with a rock climbing wall. There was also a toddler/young kids area with smaller slides and play structures. The hot tub was nice after a day of skiing/snowboarding, but it gets really crowded as it's rather small. We stayed at Tram Haus, which has has underground tunnel that will bring you to Hotel Jay and the Waterpark. Highly recommend staying at either of these hotels if you plan on utilizing the water park as you can go to the water park and back without stepping foot outside in the cold weather. The lodging was decent- included a nice electric fireplace, flat screen tv, dining table, and a small kitchenette with two electric stove burners. Each room also came with guest lockers to store your ski/board gear in so that it doesn't take up space in your room. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would definitely like to go back.

Yelp
This was our first time here. Came during the week for February vacation. Had a great time skiing. And it snowed every day. Also the resort is large with a lot to do with climbing walls mini golf in a waterpark. Awesome EV charging located throughout. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Jay Peak is one of the showcases for New England. The 400" annual snowfalls compare in depth to western resorts. It has challenging terrain and steeps. Superb glades. Its waterpark is an ideal draw for a destination resort. And despite its recent legal challenges, it has emerged with a new owner that acquired an amazing infrastructure, superb staff, and an assiduous two-country clientele that is passionate about the resort. Not to say that it is a year-round family place. We've been to Jay numerous times including a multi day stay. Each time, we've enjoyed ourselves immensely as a family. The variety of terrain allows building confidence among newer skiers and riders and keeps everyone happy. With PGR having bought the resort, it has nowhere to go but up to

Yelp
We LOVED our stay at Jay Peak Resort! We stayed at the main hotel (Jay Hotel). The rooms were very modern and included a mini kitchenette and fireplace. There was a massive tub for our standard room and the beds were unbelievably comfy. The best part about Jay Peak Resort though are the amenities. This resort truly is a destination worth visiting year-round. In the winter, it's a popular spot for all the snow sports, but there's plenty to do in the summer (when we visited) too! They have a golf course, an arcade, several pools (including a hot tub), and the most impressive amenity of all-- AN INDOOR WATERPARK. The kid in me was ecstatic. We were at Jay Peak for a wedding, so we had minimal time to explore, but I made sure we prioritized the indoor waterpark. You have to put a deposit down to use the lockers, but if you return your key within the specified timeframe, you'll get your deposit back! We only had about an hour, but it was plenty of time to go up and down the water slides several times. I was bummed that the lazy river was closed. There were kid-friendly areas, a surfing station and pool basketball too. We also took advantage of the sky tram to get to the Peak. It was misty and dreary the day we went, but I can imagine the views would be nice on a clear day! In August, it was green as far as the eye can see. The drive was beautiful on the way up and on the way down.

Yelp
Whoever built the Tram and Flyer did not calculate average wind vs what the infrastructure can take. It was a huge flaw in the trail design that mean the Tram and Flyer rarely run do to even the slightest wind. Due to the largest fraud in Vermont history (by people from Miami ironically) they haven't invested in ride infrastructure since the 90s. This all means that the Tram rarely runs and the Flyer is often down - the only two ways to the top. Mountain ops doesn't release an update until 10am so you can get to a place with huge lines and no access to the top more often than not. I'll check the NOAA for winds of more than 15mph at the top. If they have gusts it's all down. If you like skiing this might be the worst place for it in the North East.

Paul Francis M.

Yelp
Was able to get some great spring skiing turns in down the jet. Wish I had come up earlier this season but just did not work out. Only have been here a handful of times but each trip was very enjoyable.

Erin P.

Yelp
My school does a ski trip here every year and I finally went this year despite not being a skier. We stayed in the Timberline cottages. They were very nice and very clean. I got locked out on the balcony and security came as soon as I called to come rescue me. The shuttle was easy to use to get around the resort. The tram super cool and the viewing area at the top was a must see. Only complaint is how much they pack the tram but the line to get on is still so long. Everyone that went skiing or snowboarding had a great time. Everyone that worked there was super friendly and answered all of my question. Handful of good restaurants around the resort.

Peter K.

Yelp
Hotel was nice but came in with one of my tires on my car losing air so asked them for assistance. They assured me security could pump it up no problem so "go enjoy your stay" and even called and security confirmed it. Then when I went to leave my tire was FLAT and then security said their pump walked off months ago and maintenance can't pump it up either. So instead of being slightly inconvenienced to pump it up once a day. I now had to pay and extra $200 to get a tow from the local auto garage.

Jamara L.

Yelp
The water park is nice and fun, the outside view is beautiful looking into the mountains, they are very accommodating, and worked really hard to make sure my family of 15 got things figured out. Clean an tidy atmosphere, they have restaurants that are tasty and the workers are kind

Fahim R.

Yelp
Fantastic ski resort. Maybe the best snow in New England, and lots to do outside of skiing for the kids, including a move theater, skating ring, water park and climbing gym with an arcade. There isn't much of a town nearby, but there are plenty of Jay owned establishments. If you state on a resort property there is a shuttle that picks you up right in front of your lodging and arrives in a few minutes. The big negatives is it's a longer drive from NYC and Boston, not much of a town as it's very remote, and there isn't a grocery store nearby (the provisions store is like a 7-11).

Ann P.

Yelp
We had a wonderful long weekend at Jay Peak. We stayed at Slopeside Condos, unit 1008. We were right on the Queens Highway Trail. Views were splendid. The rooms were comfortable and bright. Bedding and linens, comfortable as well. Check in with Tyler was flawless. He made our trip special. The conditions were variable but when good, they were great. Lifts were running with little to no lines but Metro Quad stopped a lot and Sunday, 8 AM opening did not happen. They were short staffed so we waited 15 minutes or so. My partner took the tram up and skied a blissfilled morning. I am an intermediate boarder and moved to skiing so I stayed low for ski days. Coffee is abysmal at both places. The Provisions Store is well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pits. This is a must ski stop every winter season.

Julien C.

Yelp
JAH CLOUD delivers this is the best place on the entire earth just kidding it sucks here, definitely do not come here if you do come here tho, prepare yourself for paradise

Andrew K.

Yelp
Had a great time here recently with family and friends. We stayed at an air bnb on the mountain and I don't know if I'll ever go back to another place that's not ski-and-ride when skiing. It's super convenient and if you come mid-week like us (not a holiday week) it's pretty empty. Unlike the other big mountains in VT with comparable vertical terrain, you do not wait to ski. The Tram is also ridiculously fast climbing several thousand feet in just 6 minutes. You get a rewarding view (if it's a clear day) from the top and tons of great ski time down to the bottom. Because it's often colder at Jay (we spent a few days in the negative), the skiing in the winter is not for the faint of heart. However, if you are willing to brave the cold, there is a ton of challenging, excellent terrain while the conditions are often better in my experience because the cold keeps the snow there in addition to maybe more natural snow fall accumulation. They are known for their glade trails. There are also trails for beginners here and my 4 year old had an excellent snowboard lesson. It's cool that they have leveled and sequenced routes for the little ones with the ski and ride school and that they have an indoor practice area to take a break from the cold. I would recommend Jay to families that are new to skiing in addition to experienced families. We did a few days at the water park, which was one of the reasons we opted for Jay over other resorts. It's not cheap and there aren't as many options for toddlers at the water park but we nevertheless had fun. We also ate at the fancy restaurant on site (Alice's table) and had a pretty good meal and picked up some hot chocolate at the on-site general store afterwards. The downside of coming mid-week is that the plethora of cool things to do here is not offered. I would love to come back to try ice skating, rock climbing, watch a concert, and go the theater on site after a good day of skiing. Jay has all of the options for things to do without the pretentious of the big resorts out West. The people are super friendly and helpful here. It's worth the drive in my opinion. Some potentially helpful info from our stay: Water park- $43 for the day, note on less busy mid-week days it doesn't open until 2. It's $35 for kids and under 3 is free. Half day lift tickets (pm only) are $72 PM and pricing for other tickets is variable. You'll save if you buy online and in advance and multiple days at a time for adult tickets. It's not cheap, but then again, skiing is not a cheap sport. Ski school extension for the little ones- $175-8:45-11:45 half day/$225- full day additional $30 for rental and ski school is only offered Friday -Monday. I got a tune up for my skis on site (waxed and edged) for around $35 and the turnaround time was super rapid. Parking at both base lodges was easy and quick.

Curtis K.

Yelp
Th good: Water park Slopes Miso hungry ramen bar Provisions store The bad: Everything was closed due to understaffing. Even things that were advertised as open

Catherine M.

Yelp
My friends and I came up here for the long weekend and it was a lot of fun. We stayed about 15 minutes from the resort. We spent one day at the water park. It was kinda expensive at $43/person, but if you spend the whole day there (10am - 8pm) it's worth it. They have a bar and a snack bar in the water park. The next day we went skiing, when it wasn't negative temperatures. Their full day full mountain price is $96 and the half day price is $76. They also have a lower mountain pass for less experienced skiers and snowboarders. The view from the top of the mountain was really cool and it was a fun day of skiing. I was not that much of a fan of the restaurants and bars they had at the resort. Between the water park, ice rink and the mountain there is a lot to do up here for a good weekend trip.

Aj P.

Yelp
I went to JP Resort for a wedding, although during off-season (winter), the resort held three weddings and two hockey tournaments over the weekend. They remained under staffed in the lobby, housekeeping, restaurants, etc. The Tram Haus Hotel, tunnel, and buildings headed toward the main Jay (newer hotel/lobby) are old, grungy and smell like the 1980's bomb shelter. Our room was in the Tram Haus building, and ladybugs constantly entered the room through the space between the the balcony door's weather stripping while closed. The lobby staff said that was normal. Ladybugs might be normal or cute in a garden but not in a hotel room for $200/night! On the positive side, The Foundry Restaurant was amazing and Maggie the waitress provided outstanding service! I'll provide a separate review.

Amy P.

Yelp
Came here for one night to take kids to Waterpark. Hotel room was nice with kitchenette and fireplace. Kids loved Waterpark even though lazy River was closed. Limited food options at resort during summer. There's a nice little store with souvenirs and food. Clubhouse grille was hit or miss. Ramen place was good. Tram rides were $20/adult and $15/kid so we passed on that. Got the room and Waterpark package which was a better deal than buying separately. Jay Gorge nearby was fun for the kids. Can also check out Newport/Lake Memphramagog and Lake Willoughby from here.

Berandette G.

Yelp
We had a great weekend at Jay Peak Resorts. We were disappointed that we could not ski on Saturday due to high winds and that the Tram was not open at all due to the winds. However, we understand that you cannot control Mother Nature. The glades were just amazing. We were happy to have other activities to do including the water park, climbing, ice skating and the movies. Also, having great restaurants on site was so convenient. Everyone - all staff and the locals were so friendly and truly hospitable. A special shout out to Nick at the Boneventure lift who helped my daughter get her ski back on when it fell off and Oakley, our waiter at the Tower Bar. Thank you Jay!

Mary A.

Yelp
Wow. This is pretty much my happy place, no matter the season. But something is badly amiss at Jay Peak. The last few years, even at the peak of ski season, it felt like more stuff was closed than open. This year, golf season, there's ONE restaurant open and Provisions is closed at 2 even though it's advertised as being open til 5. (Somewhere on this mountain there's a guy with a computer who could theoretically update the online info, right?) Our condo with full kitchen is missing some pretty key stuff (cutting board, pots and pans, pillows for the foldout bed) which is just kind of sad. The skiing is amazing and so is the golf, and the people who are working here are pleasant and professional but it's definitely feeling like a skeleton crew. We will be back for sure but, as my kids say, this place was better when the criminals were in charge.

William B.

Yelp
We went in April of 2022. The theme for the stay was "it's closed". Food: There was only one restaurant open at a time. You cannot even get coffee before 8AM which is pretty crazy for a hotel this size. Attractions: The water park was pretty good but the lazy river was closed due to staffing issues. The water park is only open from 4-8PM which is a very short window. Skiing is open from 8AM-4PM which felt like decent hours. The arcade is also only open from 4-8PM - I was hoping for more hours here. Parking: Very close to the hotel and very convenient. Overall it was decent but some areas to improve. I would probably come back again.

Yelp
My 700th review and 1st as Yelp Elite '18. Woo! Stayed here the week after Christmas, Tuesday-Friday. Hubby bought a package through their website. We stayed at The (New) Stateside and Baselodge Hotel, which was the most affordable option, though still more expensive than what we're used to paying when we go to VT. It took us around 7 - 7 1/2 hours from Central Jersey as we stopped and the car died after getting gas. Oops! Fortunately we had a portable jump starter, which is awesome! Y'all should have one in your car. Anyway, we arrived at night and were able to find the hotel, pull up in front, and get our keys. We were also able to load all our stuff into a luggage cart and bring it upstairs. Parking lot was packed! They offer a shuttle service around the resort, to the condos, cottages, and other hotels. I believe that it runs every 10 minutes until 11:30PM. Brr! It was super cold this week. On Wednesday, we braved the frigid temperatures and headed to the slopes. After 3 years of a snowboarding hiatus, I was very nervous. I went on the Taxi Quad lift and survived my first (and only) run of the day. The trail was clear and quiet, not to mention lovely. I need to put on my big girl snowboarding pants and just ride. The next day only a few of the lifts were running as it was super windy and cold. We didn't snowboard, but we were able to get vouchers with a refund for 2 tickets that expire next December. Sweet! This was a very family friendly resort. The kiddos were all over the place as it got closer to the weekend. There are other things to do on the mountain besides skiing or snowboarding. Next time I really want to go to the Clips and Reels for some rock climbing and movie watching! Definitely check out your website to plan your visit. It's very helpful.

Wendy A.

Yelp
Five stars alone for their awesome treatment of military. Our whole family of seven skied for free and rented gear at a 50% discount. Less than $100 for all of us to ski for the day when anywhere else would've set us back nearly a grand. To boot, we got season passes for Jay Peak and Burke! That's freaking awesome. Unfortunately, the weather drove us away after only a brief time, so I didn't get to ski much at all. But it looked like a decent collection of runs, with primarily greens at the base and blues and blacks up top. This configuration provided ease for teaching our newcomers how to stay upright. The lodge seemed pretty small and lackluster, not the kind that's a super appealing alternative to slope activities at any time other than when the weather drives you inside. But that's a fair exchange for the opportunity to enjoy skiing as a family for the first time!

Brooke C.

Yelp
Awful customer service about changing hotel stay and days! NOT ACCOMODATING at ALL! Will never go back!

Justin G.

Yelp
Family friendly, deals available online on their website. I have coming here since 2012 and is definitely one of the best places in the Northeast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Instructors are patient and knowledgeable. There even helped me fix my personal snowboard when a binding broke for free. With the Jay cloud you also get plenty of snow even when others may not. I've never had a bad time here. Highly recommended.

Thomas T.

Yelp
I booked a skiing/stay package but my family and I were tested positive for COVID19. I requested for a refund or transfer my paid deposit to another date but was denied. I thought I was doing the responsible thing and instead the reservation folks encouraged me to show up any way. I'm a frequent and loyal customer but I will not be returning to this resort. I continue to find this resort to be very inflexible, now socially irresponsible. It is all about making profit and they have no regards whatsoever for its clients.

Victor H.

Yelp
This is not an average winter resort for snowboarding. This resort is known for glades. The glades difficulty are usually black and double black. And the skills that you need to handle them must be a superb expert because the trees are usually close to each other giving very short time to react and to swerve. This place has plenty of glades. The only disappointment of this place is the gondola. It takes approx. 45 mins of wait time and 15 mins of ride to the summit. I think the gondola speed is too slow and they could have put some lifts to the summit instead so that there are more than one way to get to the summit of the mountain. In terms of the snowboarding trails, they are pretty much similar to the trails found at other Vermont level resort: similar width, similar length of drop, similar level definition, etc. However, I have never seen other Vermont resorts with the same number of glades as this one. And the glades are pretty long giving you tons of fun time. This is a definitely must coming place to tackle and to get superb at glades!

Yelp
Came during Thanksgiving holiday, weather changes which isn't anyone's fault, rained instead of snowed opening day to Saturday, false website information saying that they will have 2 lifts opened, the "Translide" and the "Jet Triple Chair", unfortunately only 1 lift out of 81 tails was opened. Very disappointed that the whole Translide area is all closed off. The "Jet" diamond trail which is the most difficult is only for the advance, there are moulds and tons of individuals falling constantly or getting hurt. There are also tons of teenagers racing down the trail which was irritating. Waffle Cabin is closed Tower Bar is closed Alice's Table is closed Make sure you double check all the hours of all the restaurants & grocery stores around the resort (everything is different then what Google says- they all have different COVID hours) COVID guidelines: you must wear a mask while entering the buildings and even walking around, hand sanitizers are also provided

Yelp
The report is non functioning in the spring. Nothing is open. The resort fee is for cable and internet services. Very difficult to find places to eat. Nothing to do up here.

Yelp
I have stayed at Jay Peak a couple of times but this last trip unfortunately wasn't worth the Drive from Boston . Our stay was 9/28- 10/1 2023 . We had a 1 bedroom condo which was dirty to say the least . The kitchen floor had popcorn and snacks all over and looks like it hadnt been swept in a while . The pull out couches linings had Hair all over it . The Pillow cases had drool stains on them. On Friday night a group of us (20) people went to eat at the Club House Grille . The meal was excellent. There was no issues seating us at 3 different tables and the place was pretty busy . On Saturday my son wanted a nice Sit down meal so we returned at to the Club House . It was roughly at 7pm when we arrived earlier than we did the evening before. As we waited to be seated a Waitress said only 2 someone will seat you in a minute. I noticed the restaurant wasnt as crowed as the night before. A woman who was the hostess came over after a few minutes asked how many of us . I said 2 she looked at me and said sorry we arent taking walk ins tonight .At first I thought she was joking by the way she said it. I said seriously and she said yes. I asked where should we go and eat because it is very limited up there . She said why don't you try the pizza place. Unfortunately that was our only choice, the pizza was about a 6 out of 10. A Step above Cumbys gas station pizza. I wouldnt have upset for not the incident earlier at breakfast at the Foundry Bar and Grille ... We entered at 1030 and as we were being seated the table next to us put in a breakfast order. Our waitress informed us me missed breakfast but if we wanted to wait til 11 we could order lunch . But if we really wanted breakfast we should go next door to the general store and buy an Egg Sandwich. Are you kidding me ... We waited til 11 no drinks or anything . Son ordered a burger, I a greek wedge with chicken . I got a Caesar with chicken which wasnt bad the burger was good .. Jay Peak Resort seems like they don't care to make their guests happy anymore.

Yelp
We have stayed here many times in both condos and hotel. There is plenty to do for people of all ages. We have always lucked out with skiing - many powder days at Jay for us. The Pump House waterpark is fun. You don' need to by a pass to just watch. The surfing is always entertaining to watch. Arcade is a great spot to spend some time. Games are $1 to $2 a game. Lots to do. Food - this is not great. All restaurants food is just ok to terrible and pricey! Portions are big but the food quality is really bad.

Yelp
Icy, crowded, and bad visibility. Avoided the Waterpark as we were told it was packed and not worth the cost. Expensive to stay anywhere near the resort.

Yelp
4 stars out of 5 for: - family friendly - can be a wedding venue - take the tram ride all the way to the top ($15USD return trip for adults; it's approx 7-8 mins ride; the tram comes every half hour & on the hour); from 4,000 feet you'll have a breathtaking view of the area - very beautiful view with the fall colours around this time of the year (early October); bring a sweater bec it can get very windy and cold at the top - we did not take the tram back down; instead, we hiked down & it took us approx. 1 hour & half; take the path coloured brown on the signs - it's the 'easiest' trail down the mountain - the resort has a General Store that offers a lot of things of convenience from a deli, wines & beers, bread, snacks, souvenirs; this is also where you buy your tram tickets - eat at the Golf Course Club House Restaurant (depending on the season, this place may be open every day or only on the weekends) - With the Jay's Peak Hotel, there's a huge indoor waterslide + surfing contraption (but we did not get to try it); there's also a swim/surf shop should you forget your swimming / water-sports gear; there's a bar right above it that also offers drinks & snack foods if you don't want to go in the water; - there's an ice rink (but we did not get to try it) - this place is approx 1 hour and half away to the Ben & Jerry's Famous Ice Cream (factory) - if you're Canadian, this is close to the president province of Quebec; so close that the resort accepts Canadian dollars (they post they exchange rate)

Yelp
Went for a few days over school break so we knew it would be crowded. The water park was madness. So many people, tons of unattended kids and dirty. Wet food on the ground, used towels lying around. The hot tub had leaves floating in it. Just kinda gross. 2 of my kids came down with a stomach bug as soon as we got home and I'm sure it's from there. our accommodation was nice, trackside cottage. There was a mysterious long black hair in the bathtub when we arrived. No frying pan in the kitchen which I wished I noticed before buying stuff to make grilled cheese. Highlight of our trip was a Nordic ski lesson with Bill. He was great. my takeaway? Don't go on a winter break week and/or steer clear of the scuzzy water park. Beautiful location.

Yelp
We are writing this because of our overall negative experience that our group endured at Jay Peak Resort during a ski trip from Sunday February 20th through Thursday February 24th, 2022. As I have skied Jay a few times and have always enjoyed the varying terrain and glades. So this was a ski trip that we had planned many weeks in advance. As of our first day Skiing Jay, Monday February 21st, 2022 we experienced decent but not terrible conditions and had a reasonable all mountain (almost) access. Overall a pretty good day. That would not last as conditions were awful as of our second day of our three day ski trip to Jay. As of Tuesday 2/22/2022 only "one" lift on Stateside was operating thus eliminating any full or even partial mountain skiing experience. We were only able to complete one run and tried to salvage our day by trying unsuccessfully to obtain "rain check" vouchers for possible future dates instead of enduring overcrowding and terrible conditions. Jay Peak Customer service were dismissive, rude and treated us like second class citizens regardless of our legitimate complaints! We understand that any ski mountain cannot control the weather and ski conditions will vary from great to garbage. The mountain can however offer good customer service and train there staff accordingly! I will try to remain loyal to Jay Peak despite the disgusting treatment we received. There overall bad customer service experience is going to be etched in stone in our minds forever. Reduce your expectations to "zero" from Jay Peak Customer service and you won't be disappointed if you do ski here.

Yelp
We paid $1000 a night for a king suite moutain view and got a view of the steel building housing the water park. Staff extremely unhelpful.

Yelp
I was blown away. Definitely my new favorite for east-coast skiing in the states. If you're into trees and glades this is even comparable to colorado. Prices are steeper than the mountain at the window but a little planning ahead will find you great rates online or via your lodging. Scenery was spectacular, I really don't think anything east of the rockies could begin to compare on that front and i can think of plently of colorado resorts that are not nearly this beautiful. Stepping off the tram is awesome in the most literal sense. On a clear day people couldn't help but stop in their tracks and stare...it would have felt rude but all 50 or so of us did the same thing...you sort of just need to pause and take-it-in before moving on and out of the way of the crowd trying to unload. I was also impressed by normal lifts, most of them high speed with friendly efficient employees managing them. The best part is the glades! Endless routes through thick Forrest but I was enthralled by how easy it was to navigate. Obviously you must be prepared and skilled enough to dodged the occasional rock or down log, but it was magical. Follow a path or grab the untouched pow! wander left, wander right! you won't get lost because eventually you will hit some orange flags and a narrow shallow path to lead back to a blue slope. It gives you this wonderful sense of adventure and back country exploration without all of the extra risk and effort of hiking. something about the trees there just makes it really doable. i was never worried about scratching up my nice skis. Even if you don't dig the glades there are tons of great runs that I found way better than other other resorts (cough killington) Anyway dont come here. this place is mine. I called dibs. i can see it getting crowded during peak season but they are working on some major expansions that would make this place absolutely enormous. like...bring a set of walkie-talkies enormous Great brews at the bars for ~$7 a pint!

Yelp
I want to like this place so much but I can't. We were visiting the resort for a hockey tournament over Christmas break. The customer service was very, very poor. It's been years and years since we skied at Jay Peak. We'd heard good things about the water park and were looking forward to the trip. We thought it would be similar to the Sugarbush changes, if not even better. But it was so much worse. Check-in was supposed to be 5pm but we didn't get into our room until after 9. They eventually comped the water-park passes for that day but considering we weren't even using them I felt they should have done more. We stayed in a two-bedroom condo by the golf course. The condo was very nice but the beds were awful. There are six of us and no one slept well during our stay because the beds were that bad. We even took a mattress off the pull-out couch and put it in the floor to no avail. There are zero amenities in the condos. No maid service, no soap. Nothing. You have to drive to the main resort for everything. I expected that a pretty resort that hosts some of the best skiing in New England and hockey tournaments every weekend would be experienced with large groups. However everywhere we went we were treated rudely as if we were putting out the staff. The people at the water-park couldn't be bothered to be helpful or even remotely gracious with towels. They acted as if they had had nothing but exasperating customers all day and were taking it out on everyone who came along next. - We were told we couldn't play knee-hockey in a room we rented to play knee-hockey in. - A bartender in the room we rented was rude to everyone and then started screaming at everyone that she'd had enough and for us to get out and that we'd overstayed our rental. (It was 8:35, our rental was through 8:30; no last call was ever made.) We went to the Foundry to eat and asked if we could be seated near our friends. The hostess was unsmiling and cross and told us that we couldn't. The alternative was for us to leave and she was clearly frustrated and said she'd have to ask her manager. Once this was approved the servers were panicking about our large group. They refused to place individual orders for the sake of splitting our check easier. We could have potentially gotten over this if the food had been any good but it was typical hotel-restaurant food and after two-days of mediocre meals we resorted to buying/making our own. I would not recommend using vacation time or vacation funds to go to Jay Peak. My kids think the water park at Great Wolf Lodge is better (I don't, but I wasn't using it like they were) and we think Sugarbush is a nicer resort so it's not likely we'd chose to return to the Jay Peak resort.

Yelp
Jay Peak is a must if you want to "Ski the East." It's a hike from Boston - 4 hours - and practically in Canada. The upside is that Jay Peak offers plenty of trails and a 2,000 vertical drop. The terrain is varied from beginner to expert, and quite honestly, the terrain off the ridge is out of my league. However, there is plenty more to challenge the advanced / expert skier including accessible glades and long mogul runs like JFK (which, ironically, has thin cover). One note I find odd: that they do not differentiate between advanced and expert terrain (e.g, no Double Diamond trails at Jay). I suppose if it sounds scary or if you have to ask then don't bother! The only downside besides cold weather and distance from my home (oh well) is the tram. On paper, it's very impressive! 6.5 min to the top - wow! In practice, you will wait 30-60 min for this tram on the weekend. So my advice is to lap the high speed quad until you get bored, then move over to Bonaventure Quad and Jet triple. Take the Tram once if the weather is clear because it is very scenic. Or go ahead and lap it if you absolutely need to access the ridge line trails because you're hard core. I don't see the point - it's only another 300' vertical feet (I think!). If you hike up the ridge from the top of the tram to ski the rocks, I think you should say "Taste death, live life" like the deranged dude in Ski Patrol before you plunge over the side. Wind-surfer and bipolar ear-muffs are optional. On Saturday the weather was warm (above freezing) but the lines were long and the High Speed quad broke for a bit. Oh well. On Sunday, it was very chilly and there was almost no line on the quad (sadly, I was spent and cold so I only skied 7 runs). When our day was over, we grabbed lunch at Mountain Dicks. It was OK, but I wouldn't drive 4 hrs for Mountain Dicks (maybe you did!) Afterward, we went to look at the large indoor water park. It looks fun!

Yelp
I mean they are pretty straight forward price wise and the customer service you feel like your in a different world when coming from the city! The vibe is super chill and the tram!!!! Omg!!! I can't stress it! It's like the best views I have seen winter or summer! It's breathtaking

Yelp
I've been coming here with my family for 10+ years. Long story short (if you don't want to read the full review) the mountain & waterpark are awesome but the customer service and staff is lacking (& we experience this year after year). Only thing that has us coming back is the mountain. My family is a group of advanced skiers. From bumps to trees to vertical drops, jay has it. One of the most challenging mountains in the north east, coming from someone who's been a season pass holder at Stowe for many years. What Jay lacks, is their customer service. I work in the hospitality and customer service industry. I get annoyed with guests time to time, believe me I know how it feels to work a 15 hour shift but still have to slap on a smile and have a positive attitude for the guests. But year after year we always encounter a negative customer service experience. I'm not one to complain, since I work in the industry myself, I always give the employees the benefit of the doubt. But what we've encountered is just inexcusable, belittling and just upright unpleasant. Which is extremely disappointing since we love the mountain and its amenities. Being told "I've been here for five years and I've never heard of that," getting screamed and cursed at by the bus driver who literally got out of the bus to yell at us because we were loading our vehicle (he had an empty bus with no one on it and we were not blocking his way). After my father brought this to managements attention, George Garcia, the bus driver had to apologize to us in the front foyer (as told by his boss). When having a concern, it was never framed apologetically, as it should be in customer service. No one is on the same page and getting different answers is frustrating. The service industry motto "the customer is always right" is just no existent here (I get it sometimes they're not right, but you always treat the customer with respect since we're paying to stay). Coming here year after year, spending over 15k for a weekend (2 night stay) for 3 people, you expect for the customer service to be top notch. We would love to continue to come here but something needs to be done about the customer service here (maybe a training program). Not sure if this is a management issue or what but the customer service is unacceptable. We have dealt with a few staff members who are extremely pleasant, such as Shamus & Abby(bell man). He's the most spirited, friendly person I've ever met. Always has a smile on and I wish his coworkers were all like him. Staff on the mountain, lift guys and girls, are also awesome. The issue just seems to be with the hotel staff. Hope to keep enjoying are time here and hope something changes with the service here. It's really just too bad.

Yelp
We spent MLK weekend here after a major snowstorm. You can imagine how good the skiing was! Everyone was very friendly, from the parking attendants to customer service to the lift people. There were multiple restaurants to choose from for lunch, and it looks like there were other amenities if you stay at the resort. Apparently there's a water park at the tram side lodge. The lift lines were very fast and we didn't have to wait long..Except for the tram line... this was a bit slow and we only went on it once. We LOVED the glades trails on these mountains. My bf was trying some diamond ones, and they even had blue glade trails, which was awesome. I have never really done that before so it was a cool experience for me--I think that may have been my favorite part of our trip! No pictures of the resort unfortunately this time...it was negative temperature the entire time lol so exactly the best selfie taking weather!

Yelp
I'm from Toronto and have been going to Jay for the last 7 years. If you're going on a ski trip, there are a lot of reasons to come here. Pros: -Only 1 hr further compared to Tremblant. -Generally not busy and substantial vertical and terrain. -Huge indoor waterpark. -Pre-book and they'll accept CAD 1:1 to USD in some instances. -Tons of glade skiing and more expert terrain. -Typically not as cold and better snow. Cons: -Resort facilities are still lacking - no village, few restaurants, not much to do other than ski. -No nightlife. Be prepared to entertain yourselves! -Windy AF. -Ancient slow lifts. I'll keep coming back to Jay. It's about as good as you can get on the east coast without having to drive 8+ hours from Toronto. Pro-tip: the green flyer side (east) is an aforementioned WINDY AF. I only ride this lift on bluebird days as I've feared my life on it when it's windy. With that said, the west side (jet triple chair) tends to have more snow as it's somewhat shielded from the wind.

Yelp
We stayed in a 2 bedroom at the Timberline cottages. It was spacious. Top floor had a king bed (although we had asked them for a split configuration--having said that, we called once we got to the room and noticed and a few minutes later two men came to the room to care of it). Main floor had a bathroom, kitchen, living room and back deck and then bottom floor also had a deck, bedroom, bathroom and separate laundry room. It was a nice place and area but we would give it 2 stars in terms of getting what you pay for. It included pots and pans, etc. Usually these types of spaces include all the basics, like cooking spray for example, but not here. No shampoo or conditioner and they forgot bars of soap and we had to ask for a spatula. I sound nitpicky but at the price you pay, I would have expected more. We checked in on Thursday and left today (Sunday). Not once did anyone come to clean our place or change our sheets. Supposedly they were supposed to come do this on Saturday but it didn't happen though we were told they would. The cleanliness of the room to start was mediocre. When we went to bed there were long black hairs in the sheets.. Let's talk about the free shuttle..had to call twice every time we used it because it went past us BOTH times. Some of the drivers need to get spoken to. We ended up just driving ourselves because we didnt want to deal with it anymore. It is a 4 star place. Obviously there is nothing else up there and so things are pricey! Front desk people were helpful, super friendly and courteous. We opted for the package that included water park access and the kids loved it. Giving it an overall 3 stars.

Yelp
I want to love it here. I really do. But. I don't. Outside of Mother Nature not being kind, I found this resort to be skimpy on accommodations, portion sizes, drinks. Overpriced for amenities such as lockers for the water park, provide zero toiletries for the condos, and zero Sand or salt for the ice storm we had which created a hazard. The employees do not seem overly happy and complained a bit as well. Overall this is a far drive and I'm convinced we can find better. Again. I wanted to love it. But for the price I can't justify it.

Yelp
My family has been coming to Jay now for about 20 years. This resort has evolved from a rustic winter destination into a sizable four-season resort that includes a waterpark, championship golf course, ice arena, adventure facility, and numerous restaurants/bars. Any season is a good season to enjoy the amenities. For the winter, you absolutely cannot beat this place if you like glade skiing or backcountry. I'd say a good 30% of the trails are challenging wooded runs with many more ungroomed expert options in the open. There are still plenty of beginner runs for the more inexperienced type but Jay Peak beats any of the neighboring mountains for their quality/quantity of glades. In addition, every year this place seemingly lands the highest snowfall totals of the New England mountains (so they claim) which frequently results in Jay having better conditions than the competition. For the Summer, the Jay Peak Championship Golf Course is criminally underrated. It is a quintessential mountain course that has many holes boasting scenic mountain views along with unobstructed vistas of farmland in the foothills. Each hole is uniquely different and laid out with often great distances between green/next tee box. The course is challenging with a 138 slope from the tips so expect to lose many balls over the course of your round! My one critique of the place is the dining options. The service has always been fine but I'm typically never impressed with the variety and flavor of the dishes offered. I would say the Foundry is the best of the bunch followed by the new "bull wheel" bar over on the left side of the resort (stateside).

Yelp
Condo 2 star value - mountain 4 star: so average=3 Place has alot of amenities and things to do for families. We were here for Dec 31st 2016 thru Jan 3rd 2017 so it was busy but very manageable on the mountain. Greatt mountain lots of runs and short lift lines. You mix of black and boys with a few greens Lots of powder the days we were here. The resort needs more restaurant options. Condos were over priced where we stayed. $500/night for a 2 bedroom basic condo. 1 parking spot only, really? No shampoo or soap, come on? Stayed in a lot of places for less money with more to offer.

Joe N.

Yelp
The place is nice but the restaurants at jay peak are very sub par. The money you pay to stay there you would expect the food to be decent I didn't have one good meal
