I believe Vogler Jazzbar was once a special place that brought together people who love underground jazz and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me feeling that the focus has shifted toward seeing guests only as paying customers and not ensuring their comfort and enjoyment.
The service was disappointing. Our waitress seemed inattentive from the start. we waited around 15 minutes just to place our order and another 20 minutes to receive it(the order was store bought chips and sauces). Couple of times, her behavior felt inconsiderate, such as placing her tray on our table while unloading it for another group, or moving my bag from my boyfriend’s chair (while he was away) in order to seat someone else there without asking.
Regarding the jazz evening, the singer we came to hear was unwell and performed only 3-4 songs, with the rest of the evening being instrumental. While I understand illness can happen, it would have been considerate to inform guests beforehand. Despite the limited performance, the singer still came around with a bowl requesting donations.
To end the evening, just two minutes after we paid, we were asked to leave so our table could be given to other guests, even though we were still finishing our food.
Overall, this experience was disappointing, especially since we had planned to celebrate special event and expected a warm, memorable evening. Sadly, I did not feel valued as a guest, and I am not willing to return or support this business anyway.
