JD House, An Inn of Mendocino

I was fortunate enough to stay at the JD house in mid November and I’m glad I did. I managed to arrive in Mendocino before my check-in time. Having driven almost 9 hours I asked if it were possible to check in early and thankfully they did allow me. The staff was very friendly throughout ny time a the inn. I drove a couple blocks down the road from where the check in building and found parking with no issues in front of the JD House. It was as advertised online and honestly looked better in person. I had plenty of room in 201 with all the amenities. There was a tv with cable, a folder with everything about the inns and Mendocino, a very comfortable bed, water, coffee, a big closet, and dresser. Every morning room service delivered different meals to my room which were very tasty. They even included a thermos of coffee, orange juice, and breads. There is also a downstairs area with a living room and dining room with books and board games. I highly recommend booking with Inns of Mendocino if you’re ever thinking about visiting Mendocino and the surrounding areas.

Friendly, welcoming service. Great breakfast (fave was the breakfast cobbler). They upgraded our room when we were there on a quiet winter getaway and it was so nice of them to do so. Happy hour was lovely. We enjoyed the fireplace in the room, which was especially lovely in the rain. Room was quiet the first night when we had the place to ourselves. Second night some guests were a little loud downstairs and there's no staff at night, so that was a bit of a bummer. Taking one star off because the mattress was a little saggy and needs to be replaced. Location cannot be beat. Great little stay!

We spent 3 nights here. There was no table in room or place to stow or hang clothes. Bathrooms had no place to put items near sink . Beautiful view, not a very comfortable room to hang around in.

Every stay at the Inns of Mendocino that I’ve been fortunate to experience have all been beautiful. From the staff who deeply seem passionate about hospitality and genuinely care about your stay to the hot healthy breakfasts delivered right to your door to the location, cleanliness, and view… I am thoroughly impressed. My mother worked at Marriott corporate headquarters for 35 years, so we’ve been privy to hospitality for the majority of my life. The Inns of Mendocino is next level. I wish more hoteliers were as conscious and meticulous as these folks. Highly recommended. Looking forward to checking out more of these properties when the opportunity arises.

Stayed in the Raven room in the back, on the upper floor. Stayed at the blue door years ago, and this is a satellite property. Parking can be a bit tricky at busy times, but there is plenty. Room is super nice, and the views of the ocean (and whale watching) are epic. Tub is huge and comfortable for two, and the heater is really warming. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in a better place to be.

Enjoyed our stay here. Relaxing, with a view of the ocean from our room. They offered a high-quality breakfast which was delivered warm to our room. As a bonus we could walk down to the sister property where we were able to indulge our sweet tooth and have a chocolate chip cookie. The hotel even offered wicker bags we were able to use while shopping.

Stayed in the Raven room. Loved the view of the water (over some houses, but still nice). Clean, modern. Huge comfortable king bed and nice gas fireplace! Lamp didn't work, and the tub's bubble function didn't seem to work either. Breakfast was top notch--gourmet and rustic at the same time! Highly recommend.

Wonderful time, great location! Walking distance to everything in town including the headlands. Great views of the sea. Fun restaurants just across the street. Accommodations well appointed. Breakfasts are huge and lasted us past lunch time. They make an exceptional vegan breakfast--very happy tummies! Will definitely go back
